He should NOT be doing crowns. After paying a whole bunch of money to have two crowns put in, BOTH failed, broke, and fell out within 2 years. I know people whove the same crown for 30. After taking the day off and making an appointment to get repairs he took all of five minutes just to tell me yep you need new ones and to make an appointment. What? Thats why i was there. His work failed and he expected me to pay for two more crowns. Never even mentioned a discount which i felt was unfair. So im never going back. Ill go someplace else to have his work fixed. The whole experience was a rip off. $2,000 wasted.

Visit was very productive. I felt very good about the latest dental assistant. I hope he stays. My teeth are very sensitive And I am easily discouraged from visiting the dentist. The new assistant didnt hurt me me much at all. The one time he did, he fixed it immediately. Thats one of the main reasons I appreciate Dr. Griffin. He doesnt hurt me much, and if he does he fixes it right away. We were also able to narrow down many ongoing issues with my dental insurance. i appreciate the due diligence from front office staff.

My appointment in July was canceled without notice. I showed up and their office wasn’t even open although normal business hours on the door indicated that it should be. I have been calling since to try to get an appointment but I’m left with just leaving messages that aren’t returned. I’m not sure if they are even open at this point. I loved them before this though so I hate that I need to find a new Dentist.

I visited Northalsted Dental Spa last week for a standard cleaning with x-rays, and I found the entire experience pleasant and informative. Jaime and Dr. Griffin we both very friendly and professional, and answered all of my questions about some upcoming bridge work. This is the only place that I’ve ever been where I don’t mind going to the dentist. The staff is kind and friendly. They are flexible with appointments and scheduling. Most of all, I feel like they care about my wellbeing, not just oral hygiene.Also, the hot towels are a nice touch!

They totally clean your teeth with care and are very gentle, Jamie is awesome, my teeth were sore but in a good way. Thanks! Been here 5 or 6 times in the past couple of years and perfect experience every time! 👍👍

I am grateful such a phenomenal dental staff has an office close to me. Dr. Griffin is extremely attentive to detail and takes all the time needed to answer your questions making sure you understand. Also, the staff is a perfect mixture of friendly, approachable, and professional.P.S. - The office is aesthetically cute and the neverending bottles of water and lip balm are a godsend.

Ive always had good experiences here. Not always perfect, but any issues have always been addressed reasonably and promptly. Dr. Griffin is solid, and I would recommend his practice to anyone.

Went a year ago. Was told I have two cavities, and that the receptionist will follow up to make an appointment. Did he ever? Absolutely not. Also, after cleaning was complete, the dentist took 45 minutes to come by and check out my teeth.Turns out I had no cavities, as I went to my childhood dentist in the suburbs. What a scam. Meanwhile, outside in the corridor while I was waiting the dentist was flirting with a patient. Save your money and go to a reputable dentist somewhere other than on a strip of sleazy bars in lakeview.

Very bad experience! I will never go there again. Why? Just an upside down crown! I let you imagine how comfortable it is! So run!

Really happy with my experience at Northalsted Dental Spa. My first visit included a warm welcome by the reception staff, a great cleaning by the hygienist (who was sure to ask if I was having any pain at good intervals), and an exam by Dr. Griffin, who was really easy to talk to and a trustworthy guy. There are lots of services available here, but I didnt feel pressured to go for extras if I didnt want to. Im so lucky this is in my neighborhood.

I have had all kinds of work performed on my teeth and they have carefully explained options and performed services perfectly. Very happy with results!

I had never experienced a teeth cleaning in the method used (using a drill type instrument). I wish this had been explained to me before the procedure. Even now I still dont know what to make of it.

After visiting another dentist who gave me a long list of procedures I needed to get done I was unsure about their honesty so I chose to get a second opinion from Northalsted Dental Spa. During my first appointment Dr. Griffin was clear and concise about what needed to be done and what didnt, which turned out to be a lot more conservative than what I was originally told. Dr. Griffin even followed up with me after my procedure to see if I needed anything revised. The assistants and hygienists also advised me in an efficient manner when the doctor could not. The office manager, Tiffany, patiently spent probably an hour or two total on the phone with me figuring out insurance coverage and what I would end up paying for my procedures. In general, I would highly recommend this dental office to people looking for an honest dental evaluation.

Having moved from Miami, FL to Chicago recently, it was not easy to choose just any Dentist,However Dr.Griffin, The Hygienists, and even his reception staff are so welcoming and friendly, and truly remove that dentist scare (some typically portray). Doc uses high tech equipment to best provide you with the most detailed info which in turn helps provide better judgement.The office is conveniently located on 3710 N Halsted St, and is easily accessible via CTA Red line (Addison stop) with less than a 6 minute walk or via Bus (8).But the huge Advantage Dr. Griffin and his colleagues offer that others dont, are office hours that fit the 9-5 commoner, on Mondays and Tuesdays they stay OPEN till 7:30 PM !!!!! and are open on Saturdays.If commuting is not an issue, BY far worth it !!!, and he accepts most insurances.

Scam! I went in for a routine cleaning, x-Rays, check-up after having not seen a Dentist in a little over 2 years. That being said, I had expected my visit to not have the most positive outcome right off the bat. First of all, the hygienist, Nicole, was wonderful. She was incredibly friendly and very thorough. However, by the end of my visit, I had eight cavities (this was coming from the girl who has had one filling her life). My problem was not the amount of cavities I may or may not have had (although 8 in two years is kind of out of the ordinary), but my concern was the price. I work in education and have some of the best health and dental insurance out there and this Dentist office was telling me that I would still owe $2,000.00 out of pocket to fill these 8 cavities. Why $2,000.00 might you ask... Well... apparently Northalsted Dental Spa charges $340.00 for one filling!!! The other two offices in the area that I called, charge between $180.00 and $220.00 for one filling. This is ludicrous. I would highly recommend avoiding this office, especially if you think you may have any cavities.

I could not be happier with this dental practice. The entire staff are all absolutely fantastic, friendly and informative. Dr. Griffin is great. They did beautiful work and am thrilled. I highly highly suggest North Halsted Dental Spa.

I have been seeing Dr Griffin for years,I moved to South Chicago and finally started making the trek to see him after seeing other dentists. Its well worth it to me. He and his staff are friendly and welcoming. He used high tech dental equipment and takes most insurance plans. Hes expensive but in my opinion well worth it. He really cares about the teeth and you and talks with you and not to you.

I haven’t been to the dentist in a couple of years so naturally I was a little scared coming back into an office but Northalsted Dental Spa had a very friendly environment and it put me at ease. The staff was great, they answered all my questions and helped me as soon as I got there. There was no wait and the work they did was fast and efficient. I am definitely recommending this place to my family members and will be coming back here!

Over all I was very happy with the service and staff. The location is also nice as I live in the neighborhood. At no time did I feel any pressure from the Dr to get treatment done or that he was trying to sell me on unneeded treatment. I will be going back in every 6 months for my cleanings now. I highly recommend Northalsted dental spa.

Loved this place until their office manager robbed us blind!!! Accounts paid in full and their crooked manager steals the money, now they send you bills for the full amount. Dont go here! Im finding a more professional place!!!

Dr Griffin & Lucy are the best!  I realize no one likes the dentist, but if you have to go, GO HERE!  They are extremely flexible with scheduling.  When I needed to get in quickly, they made time for me.  They are extremely professional; Dr Griffin explains everything he does as he does it.  Ive been in for cleanings, exams, filling and (the dreaded) root canal.  Trust me, after all that, they have certainly warranted a high recommendation.

Everybody in the office is very nice and welcoming. They have nice, up to date equipment and the office is comfortable. Its also in a great location and easy to get to. I would definitely recommend it to anybody new to the Chicago area looking for a dentist!

I recently went in to Northalsted Dental spa to have my cleaning done. I normally go in once a year so I usually know they will have to clean me a little harder. The Hygienist was very good, she gave me a great cleaning and was very personable. I have been interested in getting my teeth whitened in a dental office for about the past year a but was always hesitant of the price. Dr Griffins price is much lower than most other offices I had called an inquired at. After my cleaning they set me up for my whitening which I will be having done this coming week.

The office staff and hygienists are extremely friendly and make a normally painful and arduous experience significantly more tolerable. Dr. Griffin took into consideration what I had told him about the sensitivity of my gums and while he still did a great cleaning, I was not in significant pain afterward like I had been with other dentists. Overall, I had an excellent experience and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in the Lakeview/Lincoln park area.

After years of having my dental work done in the suburbs, I finally decided to find a place in the city that I could go to make it easier fit it into my schedule. I was referred to this place by a friend and it was a great experience!

Im happy to say that I have found the Dental Office for me and will continue to come to see Dr. Griffin and the staff at Northalsted Dental Spa.I am very pleased with Dr. Griffin. He seems confident, extremely nice, and not pushy.

I have dental phobia and therefore have many dental issues. I went there yesterday and they were so calning. The office manager was amazing! She was with me from beginning to end. Everyone calmed my fears. The vibes I got were so calming, made me feel relaxed and they were all just amazing!!!

Please, dont go to this office and dont give them your money. Honestly, I feel like I was scammed.First, their fees are sky high and unreasonable; second, their customer service skills are nonexistent; third, the office manager of this place is a very cold and just mean person, whom you dont want to deal with. Dr. Griffin is ok but hes not worth it overall. They give you a plan of treatment and an estimated amount youre supposed to owe and they promise you things, which might sound good. Dont trust them, thats how theyre trying to lure people in. It only looks reasonable on paper, and then you end up paying almost 80% of their crazy fees, because not one insurance company will ever reimburse them for whatever they charge.I found another amazing dentist that does a better job for half the price and never chases me with bills like Dr. Griffins practice, that sent me a bill one year later after my dental insurance refused to reimburse them (because of their ludicrous fees). AGAIN avoid this place at all cost and look for a better dentists office somewhere else.p.s. I should have read other reviews online, I regret ever going there. I wish I could give 0 stars.

I lost a filling a couple weeks back and Dr. Griffin was able to get me in for an exam and repair almost immediately. Unfortunately this particular repair required a crown, and he found several other fillings that needed repairs, but Ive had a history of problems with cavities and Im just glad his very thorough exams caught problems before they escalated into something more. He utilizes full mouth digital x-rays (more than 20 separate photos, not panoramics) plus other tools to spot things that my old dentist missed. But, he also clearly articulates what the problem is, and shows you what hes talking about, so I feel confident that its an honest assessment, not just taking on services to run up the bill.And after my first repair filling he called to check on me himself, which I found impressive.The staff there is great and they dive into your dental insurance benefits to make sure you understand your coverage and maximize your benefits without breaking your wallet.Im not a huge fan of requiring a deposit be put down for appointments - that seems a bit over the top, but it can be used toward your balance so oh well. Just odd.

Pushy, terrible staff. Being billed from when I lived in the city in March 2015. Its almost March 2017. I called bc I got a statement saying I owed over $200.00. I am confused why after so long Im getting this bill when I also paid $200 in office on day of service and this was submitted through my insurance.I now know that this place is 100% NOT worth your time. I had a couple filling, fluoride which they pushed me into getting and wasnt covered by my insurance and a cleaning. So I paid over $400 for a couple cavities. Ive had the same insurance for years and NEVER have I paid that much for fillings. I did end up paying the sky high fees in the end but as others said to avoid collections and a hit to my credit.I like Dr Griffin but the practice is over priced and aggressive and I think its unethical to bill such exorbitant amounts for average work. I also wish I could give zero stars. Such a bad experience
