Ive visited this store on two occasions and have been pleased each time. The first was to get a turtle lapel pin, which they ended up specially ordering for me. I get compliments daily on how unique it is and love it. The second time was to check out the casual wear, and the feel of the two pairs of pants I got was amazing. Extremely comfortable, and the look is on point. Very excited for the sports coat as well as I tend to get very hot, and the cut and material for this coat keeps me cool. Based on the past two visits, I look forward to getting a custom suit with them as well.

A great retail experience. I’ve been looking for a leather jacket for a while and Jivesh helped me find a great one. A great small business with custom garments and excellent customer service. Will look forward to visiting this store on trips to Chicago in the future.

Very professional, and the ultimate in expertise. I didnt know that clothes could look and FEEL this good. These guys know their stuff not only when it comes to product knowledge but also on how to make you look like a million bucks. Very personable and not pushy when it comes to sales. J. Toor helped me build a unique but timeless suit for my wedding that I can wear for years to come. They went through step by step with me to pick out materials and scheduled multiple fittings to make sure everything was perfect. I couldnt be happier with the outcome. Thanks Guys!

I bought a leather garment bag from this boutique store. The bag broke down three times. By the third, I returned it again and the sales people said that it would be have to sent to the manufacturer to be replaced. They told me that they had them in stock but mine would have to go back to the manufacturer and a new one sent to the store.Two days after this, they called me to tell me that I would have to pay for the shipping. I had to come in and pay $25.00. I did so.After three weeks I called them twice to see when I could pick up the new bag supposedly sent to them from the manufacturer. They said they did not know and were waiting to hear from the manufacturer. The salesperson said that the store would be getting back to me. They totally blamed the manufacturer.Two things I do not understand. One, why, if they have the same non defective product on their shelf, they would not just give me a new bag?Second, if they sell defective products, why they would not stop using the same manufacturer?I feel that this store really tries to come off selling high quality products which it obviously does not. Then, nickels and dimes its customers and does not take responsibility in selling defective products.

Had an incredible experience at J.TOOR this weekend. Can’t thank these guys (Mike, Jamie, and Jivesh) enough for not only getting me in my first custom suit, but also being able to get everything done so close to our wedding. Sorry for the rush guys! Bought a jacket that turn out to be defective. Spoke to the people at the store in Chicago. They are there only to sell, they didnt care about the issue with the item I purchased at their location. Bad people to deal with when it comes to a problem that refused to own.

Discovered this gem a couple of years ago during our frequent stays on the Magnificent Mile, this gem impressed from the start with Jivesh’s friendly welcome and expertly curated selections. The spectacular Hook and Albert Leather garment weekender I bought my partner this Xmas all but made him forget the beautiful Picard duffle we’d passed on at Le BHV/Marais. World class merchandise presented with the effortlessly relaxed elegance of The Windy City. Well done!

On my shopping trips to j toor I worked with Diane. Greatest retail sales associate ever-knowledgable,helpful,funny,friendly and easily one of the most beautiful women in Chicago .She added an intangible. Element to the store that made it such a pleasure, during a recent visit to store I learned she is no longer there . The heart and soul of this store is now gone . There felt an emptiness in the store that cannot be replaced . People like her come along once in a lifetime .Sorry to see they didntlt recognize what an asset they had

I would like to start off this review by stating that the reason this is less than a 5-star rating is due to how a customer service issue was handled, NOT quality of products. If you are interested in quality only, please continue on to read all the other 5-star reviews :)My husband and I first discovered J. Toor when we were engaged, and had a delightful experience picking out both a Swarovski crystal pocket square for his wedding tux and a VERY nice cologne for our wedding day. My husband is huge on accessories, so he loved the uniqueness and exclusivity of J. Toor’s selection. Since our wedding, we have referred both family members and friends who have also made purchases from this exclusive store. Which brings us to this review.My husband, myself and our friend visited J. Toor on a Sunday afternoon to shop for a perfume for me and to show the store to our friend. While in the store, I sprayed on a few of the tester perfumes and was torn between two of the Parfums De Marly. However I decided on the one I thought I wanted and made the purchase. Within the next day or two, I took the plastic off of the perfume box and sniffed the perfume to realize that I did not like the one I had chosen, and it was the other perfume that I wanted. Within the week, my husband and I went back to store for an even exchange to get the other perfume (with box, bag, receipt, everything) and were told we could not, in fact, exchange and that “the policy was on the receipt.”First off, I will say that the people who work in this store are very nice and professional, but I was never told when I first bought it that if I did not like it I couldn’t bring it back and would be stuck with a $300+ perfume. And I was clearly torn between the two perfumes- the man working that day even invited me behind the desk to read about the ingredients in both of them online to try and help make the decision.Second, the woman who kept stating that the policy “was on the receipt” was not the woman who sold it to us, but she WAS the woman who had sold us literally everything else, so she knew us well. She had even hugged my husband before I came into the store to “welcome him back.” Despite my opinion about that being professional in general, after telling us we could not exchange, she then proceeded to pull out all these samples to try so I could find a new one I liked and not “make the same mistake again.” I’m sorry, but no, I do not want to spend another $300 at your store and keep a perfume I did not even use but could not return simply due to the plastic wrap being off of the box.Needless to say, I became so upset by the situation and the thought of spending $600+ on something as simple as perfume that I grabbed my husband’s hand, said a firm “No thank you, I am good,” to the woman’s samples and walked out of the store. To which she replied by calling after us and saying, “I’m sorry if you’re upset but it was on the receipt!”......Couple things with that. First off, it’s a boutique store. And from my understanding, this woman was one of the owners. I would assume keeping established customers would be a priority. Second, make it a sample if you can’t resell it. We didn’t order a custom suit for thousands of dollars and ask you to “send it back.” It’s a standard item that could easily be used as a tester. Finally, if this is how you treat your “established” clientele, we just arent going to come back anymore. We have purchased higher end items in the mall having no issues returning anything. We are no longer going to recommend you to our family and friends but instead recommend them away. I wouldn’t want a close relative / friend to purchase an item and not be allowed to return it because they didn’t read the back of a receipt.
