Overall: Great service and quality, but at a hefty price. The good: Reached out via Yelp about altering my wedding suit and their responses were exteremely fast. The service was friendly and helpful, asking all the right questions. Most importantly, the alterations made my suit fit like a glove, and I couldnt have asked for anything better. The not-so-good: The prices, like a lot of other Chicago establishments, are a bit high. The pricing for the services was a little cloudy and couldve been more transparent.

After reading such great reviews, I decided to take my wedding dress here to get cleaned and altered. I wish I hadnt. The dress did not need a huge amount done to it, however I left plenty of time as I wanted to ensure it would be totally finished by an arranged date (this date was not flexible as I was flying out to Australia for my wedding). My experience throughout the fittings was not great.. each time I went in, it appeared as though very little had been done to the dress. And in the end, it was rushed. The day that I picked it up, I noticed that the hemming on one of the arm holes was not complete (which they then hastily did while I was standing there waiting!). I wish I could say this was the only issue that arose.1 week out from my flight, I had my final fitting. Expecting the dress to be pretty much complete, I was shocked that a lot of work still needed to be done. But I trusted they would finish it.. At the end of the fitting, Susan then proceeded to tell me that they had LOST the $250 Michelle Roth bridal sash that my brother had bought for me to attach to the dress. How does that even happen?! It was wrapped up, labelled and inside my garment bag when I dropped off the dress to them. What upsets me the most is that it took so long for them to even realise it was missing, and even longer for them to tell me. Susan did try to find a replacement, to no avail, and it was at this time that I asked to be totally compensated for the price of the belt. When it came time to payment, they offered a $45 discount for them having lost the bridal sash... $45. Not only was I leaving the country for my wedding with an incomplete dress, but I was now also faced with having to find a new bridal sash in Australia, and then pay another seamstress to attach it. The stress and hassle of this whole situation was worth much more than $45. In the end, I managed to negotiate a $100 discount. I walked away very upset and not totally satisfied with having to pay a total of $550 for alterations and service that were substandard. After getting home, I took my dress out of the garment bag (which by the way, was now completely filthy and covered in black marks..?) and discovered some pretty noticeable flaws with the alterations.1. They had torn quite a big hole in the delicate fabric on one of the armpits, and attempted to patch it up with WHITE fabric.. the dress is IVORY. Additionally, the torn material not sewn/stuck down, resulting in an ugly, unsatisfactory attempt at patchwork.2. Due to the armholes of the dress being tight, I asked for them to be made bigger. This took several fittings to get right, and it wasnt until I got home that I realised the straps of the dress were now completely different widths. I guess I was so overwhelmed with the whole process of getting my dress fitted, that I did not see this in the store.. something I have been kicking myself for ever since. However, this doesnt change the fact that these people are professionals, and they should have ensured that the alterations were symmetrical and of a high standard!3. Many parts of the lacework were not sewn back down onto the dress (and were sitting loosely on the fabric) and there were loose threads everywhere which had not been cut.4. The hemming of the armholes was uneven and very rushed.5. After noticing all of this, I voiced my concerns with Susan via text and provided photos (as seen below). It has now been 2 weeks, and I am yet to hear anything back from them.Overall, my experience with Boutique Cleaners was stressful, upsetting and infuriating. They offered to clean and preserve my dress for free after my wedding, but honestly, I wouldnt even trust them with that.

A great dry cleaner - reasonable prices, good work, friendly staff. I’ve had things tailored here as well and was very pleased. There are about 10 other dry cleaners near my house, and I go out of my way to take my clothes here.

Don’t come here, they will scam you. Saw the great reviews and decided to bring 2 designer prom dresses to get altered, hem and a bustle. I was quoted $130-145 per dress which I thought was pricey but was going out of town and my daughter needed one of the dresses for a prom a few days after we returned. I decided to only get one dress tailored and left $100 deposit. On our return, the fitting was rescheduled to a different day and the bustle still needed to be completed for the next day. Owner text that she would to drop off since she needed more time to complete. My daughter went out to meet her and paid balance which I thought was only $30. Owner text me receipt afterwards and total was $230. $100 more than what was quoted and almost half the price of dress. I text her that this wasn’t what I was quoted because I could have gotten it tailored at Peaches (dress shop) where we purchased for $80-130 but didn’t have time to return to shop. I text back to owner and she said I was confused. I would never have gotten dress altered there if they had been transparent with pricing.4/30/19-owners responded that they were transparent in pricing and said $35/bustle. I was told it would be $35 for the bustle not for each bustle and the tailor who actually pinned the dress never said that 4 bustles would be required nor did he include that pricing in quote or disclose the price “per bustle” when my daughter went for fitting. You would think that if a tailor is quoting $35 for the bustle they would mention the dress needed 4 and you’d pay per bustle. Also I was quoted a total price for the alterations per dress which was $100 less than what was charged. It’s a scam to get you in and then overcharge you. I’ve included a picture of bustle. You would think if the cost is $35 for bustle they would at least find a button that matches so it doesn’t look tacky and cheap. Proof of the “quality” of this shop. Lastly, they offer an incentive for positive reviews as a $5 credit to account so I would be wary of all the positive reviews.

I was in Chicago and my daughters Winter Coat zipper broke. Of course its windy and freezing outside so I went to Boutique Cleaners on North Paulina Street. Moe greeted me, very friendly and accommodating man.I asked if he could fix or replace the zipper before I left the following day. He worked on it right away and fixed the zipper.I was very, very happy! Moe was a gentleman and his store was modern and very nice.I highly recommend Boutique Cleaners for any alterations or Dry Cleaning you may need.Tony B. From South Florida

Susan is simply a life saver! She got me out of a jam when I thought I was fresh out of luck. Boutique is located right off the Paulina brown line stop, so it makes it very convenient to drop off and pick up my dry cleaning the same day without all the hassle! Dont forget to say woof! to Coco, shes adorable.

I brought in my second-hand silk wedding dress back in March for hemming and taking in the bust, since it was a touch big and long for my 5 frame.Susan and her assistant worked with me through multiple sessions to ensure the measurements were correct (hem skimming the floor with heels on, but not a trip hazard). The warmth and friendliness, attention to detail, quality of the alteration, and price point made the entire experience pleasant. You can tell Susan cares about her work and her relationship with customers. Thank you Boutique Cleaners for allowing me to have an affordable and well-fitted dress that made me feel comfortable and beautiful for my wedding!

I am very disappointed in the service I received from this cleaners. I brought in my wedding dress to be cleaned and preserved and was given a quote of $500-$600 for full service and 10-12 weeks. I had to call multiple times over many days to get any answers of a final cost. They said it would be closer to $600 and I agreed and gave me a range of dates the dress would be done by. After 12 weeks I called multiple times and finally got an answer that it was not done and to call back. After 14 weeks I was told they could not fine the correct box, but would let me know when it would be finished. Once it was completed I picked it up that weekend and it does look cleaned and preserved correctly however I was given the final bill of $784. I would suggest anyone to get a signed quote instead of a verbal agreement of both time and amount due when going to this cleaners. I feel like I was taken advantage of.

Had a great experience with boutique cleaners, dropped off my pants to have dry cleaned and I got there late around 6pm. I was greeted by Susan who took care of me and assured me that she would have my pants back to me by the late afternoon next day. What great customer service, I picked up my pants just as Susan promised. Woot woot! Susan is the bestest!
