Decent place to have a party.

Management is awesome. Quality venue, yet responsible to social distancing & mask wearing!

It has really gone down. I went to a repast and they had people at the door checking purses and patting people down. It needs updating. On a positive note, they seemed to have a flowing bar for people who was drinking and the family was able to bring in their own food to feed the guests, and they have decent parking.

Went here for a 50th Wedding Anniversary and Vows Renewal. Had a really good time. But the restaurant needs to move that old dusty limo sitting in the pull up space. It is very much in the way when it comes to dropping off seniors, handicapped loved ones, and Brides and their parties.

I had a great time. The room was decorated very nicely. It was cold in there. The bathroom could use a little bit of updating.

This place needs remodeling. The linen was was not crisp and it was stained.

My sister had her wedding there in August 2018 the owner Jean was very courteous the staff was nice and helpful the place was clean and we had a very good time that day.

Drab, ill lighted, in need of a MAJOR remodel. The group that owns Mr Gs bought the place and have a real unpolished gem here. If theyre willing to spend the money they could really have a special place for banquets and celebrating.

This was a very nice venue if you are looking to entertain a group between 150 to 250 max.

The decor is dated, the mens restroom floor drain backed up with every flush of the toliet, and for some reason there is a rent a cop security officer at the front door. This is not the same banquet hall / dinner restaurant from years past, it doesnt some to have an owner who has the necessary capital and know how to make it shine as a jewel of the community.

You have to bring your food in for your event which is fine but the rooms are small and the air conditioner doesnt work in the summer. We spent an hour circling around the parking lot looking for parking.....Remodel or demolish thats my take on the whole thing

All I can say is wow. I would definitely NOT recommend this place. At best, the place should be clean and neat. Not so here!

The new proprietor is the owner of the famously former Mr.Gs on 87th and Ashland in Chicago. With taking over the Beverly Woods, the excellence in service continues. Several rooms are available to fit any size party, for any, and every occassion ...The staff is extremely accommodating, the food is tasty and fresh, and if you want to get your dance on, or learn new line dances, The Beverly Woods is the place to host your next event!

It makes no sense to.me that this place has an out of date bathroom. Stalls are kept unclean. Water all over the floor. Toilet seats are too low. Doors on stall dont lock. No sopa or paper towels continuously. Something is seriously wrong with that.

This place has terrible service and customer service. We recently had a party there. They help was only 2 people for a 100 people. They food did not accommodate what we were told. The place needs a complete make over including there bathroom needs a do over. I would not recommend this place to anyone at this time

I almost had a nervous breakdown while dealing with the inconsistency, and unprofessionalism of the entire staff at the BEVERLY WOODS...There was no heat in the banquet hall that I paid for. Me and my guest were freezing up until the point when the bulk of my guest started to arrive; so the heat came from the people, because the heat wasn’t working in the tree room/legacy room...The security guard has an extremely nasty disposition, and was extremely rude to ALL of my guest. The things that he was saying to me was completely unprofessional. My party was being micromanaged by the rude security guard as well. The security guard didn’t get his attitude in check until my party was over, and the owner had to notify him of who I am, and who my father was. That shouldn’t have had to happen PERIOD. EVERY client/customer should get the best customer service, no matter who they are...The lines of communication between the staff members and the owner is horrible. I am not a person to stress out over anything, but dealing with the people at this location stressed me out on an elevated level. I will NEVER have anything at this location again; they do not deserve my business. I will not be recommending ANYONE to have anything there either. All of my requests wasn’t fulfilled. The overall experience was a pure disappointment, and it will not happen again. On a grading system there grade would be an F -.

Donzella and Mr. Gene were great and most accomodating. Room was set up very nice.I will use there services again. 5 stars

This place has really gone down. It used to be so nice, have been going there since I was a kid and havent been there in about eight years. I went for my family and was totally terrified 🙄 thugs hanging at the entrance way and along the building cursing, thugs lingering in hall as we walked in, we were afraid wed be robbed or shot. The place looks filthy and unkept. Im sure they have roaches 🤔 I didnt stay long enough to find out. We were totally shocked because as nice as Beverly is youd think this restaurant would have to have inspectors, along with security and be well maintained. It is so ragged looking now, needs to be torn down. I have no plans on ever returning to this place-- so shocked, it has totally gone down, the pits ☹️

This isnt the Beverly Woods that I went to for years whoever is the new owner hasnt put anything into it. A stripped down hole in the wall that rents rooms I hope the prices are as cheap as the rooms.

This place should be closed down. My Cuzn had her wedding and reception in this place. Coming threw the front i said this is going to b great. But soon that changed it was so hot in this place the fruit was hot and the Pastor said it was hot. That was toatally unexcepted and disrepectful to the Bride and Groom. 😞😞😞😞😞😞😞 People were fanning with the plastic plates.

I would referd people there, but I wont i went to a 40th birthday party there and it was not good, the owner has his son running the place and they are very unprofessional, we were there they turned the lights out in the hall way it was pict black were you couldnt see the bathroom and then they turned the lights out in the room were the party was, and was very rude about it. Beverly wood has been there for years. And it used to be a classy place, but not any more, it was just herriable how they treated her quest. I will never refer no one about that place. Poor service.

5918 Inc. Catering hosted a Mothers Day dinner, they had tables 2 feet apart, people kept knocking our napkins off the table and spilling drinks walking past. It was a buffet and Moms kept saying it was a mess moving thru the crowd carrying plates & cups. Only 1 of 5 toliets worked in the womens washroom. Food was decent but we didnt even have Salt & Pepper the staff said they were out. They put 4 place settings on tables so small we kept elbowing each other while eating. Next year I will go back to taking Mom to a Nice restaurant downtown by the Lakefront. The only part that saved the day for my Mom was the good band, Kenetic Connection.

This was an event resulting from a repast a place to consider for a family not sure where to go after a funeral.

Washrooms, horrible mess. They have parties, repasts, baby showers, etc. there is no way it looks like they in there...... The drinks overpriced and nasty

I was told that this is the new Mr. Gs. The name should be changed because it no longer a restaurant. You have to cater or bring in your own food and the drinks at the bar are expensive.

The facility is terrible. The carpet is worn out and dirty. There was one working stall in the womens bathroom. Water was coming from the bathroom walls leaking on the floor, disgusting.

Food was good. Accommodations were clean & nicely decorated.

I was there for my grandmothers repast and the food was awful and no professionalism. My grandmother would be upset to know of the bad food we were served.

This place is old, outdated and in need of a complete remodel. I cant believe that they are still renting out halls in this place and that people are actually paying! Theres so many esthetic issues in this place that I dont have time to name them all. If you are looking to rent out a nice hall, sad to say that this aint it.

This place have new owners i have been trying for days to make reservations no one ever pick up the phone or this crazy ass old lady keep picking up saying she the answering service in put people on hold... I really hate they got this lovely place with bad customer service over the phone i can just Imagine the one on one experience Jesus Christ horrible...

This place was nasty, and I dont just mean the food. The facility was dirty, the bathroom had toilet paper all over the floor, 2 stalls were broken, it smelled like moth balls, the ceiling had holes and they had a smoking room right at the entrance so people going in and out get covered in a cloud of smoke - including small babies. This place may have been Gucci back in the day, but now its not even Walmart.

I wouldnt recommend this place if it were free. While getting out of my car. There was another event taking place. The guest were outside eating drinking beer, sitting on this FILTHY LIMOUSINE.. Speaking to the security officer was a waste of time. After telling him of my concerns he said, Okay. Entering, there were kids running back and forth as if they were in a race. Again, spoke to the security officer, OKAY he responded. Entering the room where my sister was schedule to have her party was extremely dark. I asked repeatedly for to have the light fixtures on the wall turned. After one -hour passed the problem not corrected. I spoke to the same gentleman, and he gave the same response. Mind you he looked to be dis-shelved, (dirty clothes and hair not groomed). Becoming frustrated, i asked to speak to the owner, (which took all of 45mins), before they were able to locate. The guest were requesting drinks. The same person I complained about the light stated, hes here waiting for you all). Again 45 minutes passed and no bartender. Finally, the bartender arrived served a few drinks and was not seen. Here sits the same young man with the dirty clothes and poor grooming at the bar with a facial expression as if he didnt want to be there. Finally here comes the owner, Whats the problem. I started explaining to him, the request made about the low light setting and again requested the wall lights to be turned on. Those lights are broke. I could have passed out. I explain that the employees should have been aware, I explained that was one of my first request upon my arrival and now 2 hours later you guys tell me that they are not working. The situation with the bartender was no better. I explained, we should not have had to ask for the bartender, that person should have been in place upon the FIRST guest arrival. The MAIN ATTRACTION, THE BATHROOMS. They had the odor of a PORTAL POTTY AND IT LOOKED AS THOUGH IT HADNT BEEN CLEANED IN DAYS. Again speaking to the security officer and other employees, was a waste of time, NOTHING WAS DONE. If youre looking for a place thats going to provide customer service, clean and organize environment (inside and out). This is not the place for you. If you continue to use this facility, P L E A S E P L E A S E, do a complete and through walk through and make sure all things are operable. They should have a 1/2 STAR FOR A RATING. Ive never left a review of such, but the public should know what they are getting for their money.

When you paying over $1,500 plus and getting services cafeteria style and not being served, on top of served on styrofoam plates there is a huge problem. Im dressed up and Im drinking from a plastic cup and a 2cent styrofoam plate just doesnt match. While you are in your party they will have people walking inside your room to check it out so they can book it which to me is very unprofessional. Bathroom are dark with very little lighting.Second, The front door entrance is still under maintenance (been 4months now) when you walk it its out dated and looks as if your walking into a funeral home. They took the beautiful birds away from the showcase which was the main attraction. Ceilings looked as if someones uncle tried to fix it but didnt have all the proper tools. Employees walking in and out of your party as if they was invited even after being served Watching everything as if its more to mess up the place. Ill say the only person with common sense is the bartender (Ill give him 5 stars) very polite and well mannered made my party feel very welcomed as well as the older lady with 10 different positions. To the New Owners try fixing your customer service skills because you have many many people who has been here many years who are willing to help and support this establishment. But with the big turnaround and the I dont care attitude this place wont last another year. Good luck hope you can prove me wrong but my experience was a big disappointment.

Very poor service. They have a dirty Lemo blocking the double glass doors where we used to enter. The day I DJd there, there were people out front of the establishment smoking and drinking. I was trying to unload my car to setup in the Banquit room before the guest started arriving. I was constantly afraid to leave my vehicle each time I come back to get another item to take inI never want to do any more business there again. It was way better hospitality back in the day. Its a deathtrap now!!!

Very nice venue for a party.

Me and my family had breakfast here today and first the waitress never introduced herself. She was eating grits and it mustve feel on her apron. Also I dont eat pork and they had no other options in meat, when I asked for other options like turkey or chicken they SAIDSORRRY THATS ALL WE HAVE! The best customer service wouldve been, at least offering me to fix some turkey or something. I think I can spend my money on some where whom appreciate it.

The food was Excellent the fried chicken was the Boom Rolls still good and Hot New Isrealite Church use to come here long time ago we had our Scholarship Dinner here.

THIS PLACE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL AND THEY ARE LAZY MY Niece HAD HER DAUGHTER a SWEET 16 BIRTHDAY PARTY THERE AND WHEN WE GOT THERE TO SET UP THE ROOM WASNT PREPARED FOR US. THEY HAD THE WRONG COLORS IN THE ROOM, THE ROOM DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH TABLES FOR OUR GUESS AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO ADD TABLES OR PUT TABLES IN THE DESIRED POSITIONS NOR WOULD THEY ALLOW US TO DO SO EITHER. THINGS SHE PAID FOR THEY DIDNT WANT TO PROVIDE THEM LIKE THE TABLE RUNNERS AND CHAIR TIES. THE PARTY STARTED 1HR AND 30 MINUTES LATE BECAUSE IF THIS.THE MANAGER TOLD OUR DJ THE PARTY WAS OVER AT 11 WHEN WE HAD THE PLACE UNTIL 2. ( BESIDES THAT WASNT HIS PLACE TO DO THAT). THE MANAGER JUST KEPT INTERRUPTING THE EVENT AND CAUSING UNNECESSARY STRESS!!!!! I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! IF FOR SOME STRANGE REASON YOU CHOOSE THIS PLACE MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING IN WRITING DONT TRUST HIS WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND KEEP YOUR CONTRACT!

Does not answer phone after several calls. When call was answered, l was told she was answering service and call would be transferred to vm and if I didnt get a call back in a reasonable amount of time call back. The call rang and disconnected. I wont be using them for my upcoming needs.

If I could give zero stars I would .. This is not the old Beverly woods! I had a baby shower and it was on the same day as a repass!The staff has no clear communication with each other, there were so many miscommunications with my event so very disorganized! My guest were asked for the gifts and bags to be searched .. I thought that was very distasteful this is a different demographic than what they are used to. Not to mention like a previous reviewer said they have ppl viewing rooms during events how tacky was that ... overall I was very displeased with the service and would book another event here !

A old fashioned place need A lot of updates.

Food is so average and service is lackluster. The waitreses were very slow and unattentive to our party, they didnt remove plates and fill up pitchers until nearly the end of the event. On top of that one of the pitchers of lemonade that we received had a gnat in it and other floating particles! Gross. The caramel cake that was out for dessert looked good but one member of our party found mold on their slice. Dont eat the cake. The ambiance initially walking in was nice but after we sat down that was it...it went all down hill. Ohh and the booth that I sat in had spider webs in the corner and was dusty. It looked like it hadnt been cleaned in too long. Overall my experience here was poor and I will likely not be back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. Management should be ashamed to call this place a nicer foodservice establishment.
