Called them this morning to see if they could check out my car since the engine light was on. Didnt need to make an appointment and was told to come by. Was there maybe about an hour for them to tell me what was wrong. I didnt mind the wait as I was expecting it to take all day anyways. They told me the clutch actuator needed to be changed. They said it would be about another 5hrs or so for them to get the part and have them do the work. Its maybe 3hrd max before I got the call saying it was done. Those guys are awesome and professional. As a first time customer, I will now be a life long customer! Thanks guys!!

If AAA recommends this place, I would recommend finding somewhere else.My van stopped running and was towed to this shop. The guy in the office told me it would definitely be looked at and diagnosed and probably fixed that day.After waiting for around 4 hours, nothing was looked at. While waiting I heard at least 4 different people complain about mostly issues revolving around poor communication. One issue had to do with a missing tire (they lost it but later found it).Finally my van was looked at, and minutes later they completed a “test”. The test ultimately didn’t help at all, and the day ended without a diagnoses.The next day a different tech looked at the van, ran the codes, and determined there was a sensor code. The part came in a little while later, and sure enough it solved the problem.My first issue is how quickly the diagnoses should have taken the day before.My second issue is the final price of the job. They charged me 2 hours of labor which is outrageous.The final issue, and the one that bothers me the most, was the poor communication. I had to call or visit to check on the progress. If there was a plan, I never had a clear understanding of it. I was told things that didn’t happen.Anyways, pick somewhere else if possible.

I even double check with my dad and get his opinion, and it matches what these guys say.I trust these guys with my car. You should too. They’ll take care of it and take care of you!PS you can get a full interior/exterior wash here for like $25 and they do a great job! Def worth the add on.

My wife and I left for Chicago from Indiana (2 hr away) and our minivan broke down as we got into Chicago on Labor Day weekend. I had it towed to Midtown Auto and explained the situation to Cuco. Even though it was a holiday weekend they still took the time to look at my vehicle. They kept me up to date by phone and had it running by Sunday. Big props to Cuco and his crew. Can’t thank them enough and I highly recommend them.

Ive had two experiences with this business: one negative and one positive. Last year, I took my car in for some work done and they were great. Very professional, helpful, and overall a great experience. Got the work done quickly.I did have some issues with them about not getting me a quote, but they did eventually follow up and reach out to resolve the issue. Long over due review but well deserved : The first time me and my husband brought one of our cars here I had my transmission serviced and am really happy with the services provided. They are honest, quick, and very good at what they do.The second time I brought my car here was before winter and I had my tires replaced. They gave me one free wheel alignment and a three-year nationwide road hazard warranty which I have already had to use one time. Hard to find a good shop in the area but I’m glad I was able to. My minivan broke down on a trip to chicago 2 hrs away from home, on a holiday weekend of all days. Midtown took us in, did a diagnostic and got it working and runing again . So thankful to Cuco for his help. Midtown will be my go to if im ever having car troubles in chicago again. I highly recommend.

I came here because my boyfriend recommended and I saw they had good reviews, after the horrible experience I had I will never return to them and am seeking to pursue legal action against them. I originally took my car to repair a hot engine that was reading on my 2016 Mercedes Gla250. They charged me $1300 to replace my coolant pump and thermostat, not even a week went by when my car read the same engine hot, I had to get my car towed to them, they then charged me $1200 to replace my water pump and a hose in my coolant system and replaced my thermostat twice claiming it was faulty initially. Once I picked up my car two days later my check engine light was on which initially wasn’t on, took my car back and they cleared it saying it was just a sensor. I then had my car back and forth with them for 3 weeks for them to try and resolve my engine light which they caused by working on my car, they had a Mercedes technician look at my car and tried to charge me another $1000 to repair an electrical issue they claimed due to a part not working properly below my thermostat which I believe was due to their mechanics not repairing my car correctly. They claimed to bring the issue up to management, I never received a call follow up, they then started ignoring my calls. I have now reported them to the BBB, I would not trust them working on any car, I’m not even sure their mechanics are certified possibly just street mechanics. Now I have to take my car somewhere else and have them fix what they caused. Worst headache, and hence you I would leave my car 3-4 days at a time, only once was a car rental provided and I had to pay from my own pocket initially and wait to get reimbursed. Bryan the manager and Amir were the once I worked with and never received a follow up call in regards to the matter. I warn anyone using them for your car repair services.

Her information is attached to the receipt in case you have a concern.Initial review: They have a huge FREE WHEEL ALIGNMENT with 4 tires sign outside. I purchased 4 new tires and Bryan said I needed my tie rod repaired before he could do the wheel alignment. He said they would still honor my free wheel alignment after I repaired my tie rod. I came back 1 day later and they tried to charge me for the wheel alignment (due to not getting repairs with Goodyear) after I bought 4 tires here.

BUYER BEWARE! They quoted me $1500 and I got my car fixed by a different mechanic shop for $300 (+$175 for towing).They are very polite, seem honest at a glance, and used the word honest with me repeatedly.My car died and I had it towed to Midtown Auto Repair because of their high google reviews. They performed a load test on my alternator and wrote me a quote for $1,500 (seen below). I know more about cars than I let on, so upon seeing this, I knew there was a problem.I paid $175 to tow my car to Ernies in Vernon Hills, the mechanic my family has been using for years. Heres what I found:1. Midtown was going to charge me $425 an alternator that OReilly Auto Parts was selling for $225.2. My alternator was just fine and did not need to be replaced.3. Midtown was going to charge me $188 for multiple belts when it took just one to fix my car, which I picked up at OReilly for $8.4. My car only needed one tensioner, not 2.5. Upon informing Midtown Auto that I repaired my car for $300 + towing instead of their $1500 quote and that their diagnostic was useless, they refunded me the $72 I spent on it and offered me a free car wash with the hopes that I wouldnt do what Im doing right now.When I drove over to pick up the check, they seemed nervous and began talking at me about how the alternator failed the load test even though it was working just fine when Ernies did it.Im posting this because I dont want other people to get cheated. It is my belief that all of they glowing reviews are from people who were treated with politeness and never knew how badly they got shafted for repairs that may not have even been necessary or occurred.

I have been here three times to service my car. The staff is knowledge and the prices are very competitive (trust me I checked) but what keeps me coming back is Bryan. His customer service is excellent. He is attentive, he explains things in an easy, relatable way and he never makes you feel like you are asking dumb questions or wasting his time. When I got my car back this time it was cleaned and washed which was a really nice treat. The customer service here is truly fantastic!

Incompetent. Of course they also tried to make up a fantasy story, and while I am a not mechanic and a woman, its not that easy to make stuff with me, they had to recognize it was bull*. Because of their botched repair I had to be towed and wasted an afternoon, I should charge them my time.

My car broke down on a Saturday morning when I was supposed to be headed back to Milwaukee that day. They expedited my diagnosis, and found a part that was available on a Saturday so I could make it back home that afternoon. I really appreciated them helping me out so quickly so I wasn’t stranded out of state overnight. Also, very friendly service and a clean comfy waiting room.

I have a 2005 car that most auto shops would probably try to sell me on unnecessary services. These guys are always kind and go above and beyond to make sure they do the job well. My car needed a very specific piece and when the one they originally installed didnt work, they installed the second one free of charge. I never feel like Im getting ripped off which is a nice feeling for a auto shop.

Long story short I just moved to Chicago and I needed an oil change. So I went to my dealership for convenience. Come to find out I needed to replace my oil pan gasket, I was leaking oil everywhere. The dealership quoted something astronomical...I will just leave it at that, so I toldem I would think about it (no chance). I googled auto repair for the area and found Midtown. Super friendly and helpful from the get go. Brian got me a quote for the same service at literally over 50% savings, saving me hundreds of dollars. I was elated. He got me in an hour later no problem. I would recommend this establishment to anyone. Definitely coming back if I need more auto help down the road.

Really glad to have this place nearby. Have had tires installed on a few different vehicles as well as an alignment on a lifted Jeep. They are super fast, friendly and do a great job for a reasonable price. Bryan up front is the guy you want to speak to, he is as awesome, as is his taste in cars. I will keep taking my cars there for anything I cant do myself.

I couldnt believe it when i saw an auto shop with 49 reviews at 5 stars. After getting a nail in my tire, i brought my truck in and got it patched up in about 30mins from when i pulled on the lot. Great people, great service, definitely will come back if i need future service/repairs. These guys have earned their 5 stars no doubt.Update 1/11/21: the tire patch lasted until the end of the life of the tires, and when i went in for replacements not only did they do a great job quickly, they also made me aware of a rebate on the tires i wanted and got me some cash back per tire. These guys are amazing and will be my go to spot for as long as im in chicago area. Thanks for another great experience. -Tom

This is an amazing establishment! I had an emergency with my car my oil life was at 5% and I pulled in 15 min before closing time and they did not turn me away. Oil and filter were changed and the mechanic found bubbles in my front tires, even though it was bittersweet that I had to replace them it felt good knowing they are here to provide a service and not just get me in and out even so late in there work day! kudos to the work crew

I had a minor emergency with my car at 6:30pm on a Saturday. I googled auto repair near me and Midtown Auto came up. They were open until 7pm. I called them and they said bring it in. They fixed my car and were very friendly and helpful on top of it! Thank you for being open until 7pm on a Saturday when everyone else was closed. You really saved me!!

Look no further, this is the shop youre looking for! Several bays (shorter waits), very clean shop floor, organized, and excellent technicians!I went in with a self-inflicted wiring problem and expected extensive shaming and a long bill. I showed Brian my problem, and he was very professional and confident they could fix it with little trouble. He was very upfront about what to expect if the fix turned out to be more involved once they dug into the harness. A couple hours after dropping my car off, I got the dreaded phone call... except it was good news! They had already fixed the wiring, didnt give me the runaround or throw in any additional charges. Thank you Brian and the rest of the crew! Youve gained a loyal customer and Ill be recommending you all every chance I get!

Absolutely love Midtown! I was in a car accident and needed new tires and body work. Unfortunately, the first auto repair place was very nasty to me and I opted to not get my car fixed there. I was referred to Euro Collision for body work and Midtown for tires. Janat helped me through the whole process. She definitely went above and beyond for me.Let me say this, when youve been in an accident and someone youve never met goes out of their way to make things easier on you, it says a lot about that person and the company that hired her. She guided me through the process and kept in contact with me about what was going on with my car. She provided updates via text so that I was in the loop. Midtown is affiliated with Euro Collision so the communication and process went smoothly. Janat put me on the phone with Brian who inspected my tires so again communication was super easy. I am extremely happy with how I was treated at Midtown Auto Repair.
