I had tippy as a first time customer and he prefers to do simple styles. However he dealt with me very well remained pleasant. Even joked with me lightly and we compromised he stepped outside of his box a little an I genuinely appreciate it. But forewarning they only do dip which is no issue but me being an acrylic girl the process was new to me. He reccomend I book with angie for my styles because shes young and more in tune with trends. I will return I paid 70. Which Im not mad about also not overjoyed about. Overall tippy is a great businessman.

This was probably the best experience Ive had a nail salon.Tippy was awesome, he explained to me how the dip powder is better for your nails and hands and maintained a friendly conversation with me the whole time. I had gotten a bad dip manicure a couple weeks ago from another salon that was really disappointing. Watching Tippy do my nails, its clear that this salon has the knowledge and expertise. They also accept tips on card payments. Ill definitely be back and will recommend this place to everyone.

Ok so let me tell you. This establishment and environment is one of the best salons that I have visited. The service was very nice and they were packed but everyone was seen by appointment and if you did not have one they fit you in if applicable. They called me by my name the entire time which meant a lot. Very good conversation and friendly staff. The owner is hilarious and had me laughing the entire time. The Dip method is awesome on your natural nails. Im usually satisfied but my coffin job isnt all that... I will give them another chance because the service is good and the can wax eyebrows like no others in my opinion

Phoenix really took care of me! The most relaxing massage and skin softening treatment I have ever received! The funny man up front convinced me to get the dip manicure and I knew I wanted a deluxe pedicure and a brow wax. Not only is the work high quality but they made me feel special too! What a great atmosphere! Prices were reasonable, knowledgeable staff, clean facility, great service at a fair price. I will be back!

LOVE THIS PLACE. Im extremely picky, and I always leave satisfied. I see Lee, but everyone there is awesome, from what I can tell.I get a lot of compliments on my nails. Im constantly handing out their business cards.I wont lie, Im paying a good bit more here then Im use to. But for me, personally, they are worth it.

I had spent $80 dollars on my nails just for them to break in less than a week . Usually when I receive a service from them it always comes out great but this time around it did not. I went and showed them my nails and I understood why he said no. I was at work when they had broke and I had a job interview the next day so I had to cut them even , however he didn’t even give me the chance to explain that and I was given so much attitude because he stands behind his brand, it wasn’t your brand it was your nail tech sir . $80 down the drain and poor customer service.I don’t mind letting my nail tech know what they did wrong , especially if they are new; So that this doesn’t happen to anyone else but to have an attitude and a narcissistic response was a no for me.

My main enjoyment of a pedi is the massage.. I think I got literally about 10 seconds on each leg with the exfoliant gel. He did a good job on my actual toe nail shape and polish, but left much to be desired for relaxation. I also was a little put out that not only did my pedi person try to upsell me on getting dip nails, but then the manager started the same speil when checking me out.The salon was nicely decorated, clean and all of the employees were very friendly. I just wanted a better massage and to not be upsold so much

I came here one time before to get my nails done and loved the work! Came here again after checking the hours of operation online AND the business card they gave me only to show up with them being CLOSED. No sign on the door for the inconvenience, nothing. I understand things happen but it was kind of unprofessional in my opinion.

My go to place for Pedicures! Have been coming here since 2016 when I first moved to the area. Always a great experience. Friendly, professional service and its very clean and sanitary. An appointment is not required but appreciated.Since opening back up after the covid shutdown, they have been properly spacing people out, added plexi glass to each working station and continuing with thier stellar sanitation and customer service.

I went to the shop at 5:45pm. They were closed. The sign and online says 7:30pm! I guess they make up the hours as they go.

Not clean. Would not get a pedicure. Large selection of dip polish colors. Anna was phenomenal.

Anna is the GOAT! She is truly awesome. I searched for a great nail artist when I first arrived in Richmond and they were always rushing, sloppy, didnt listen to what I wanted or even cutting me by using the drill machines too long. Then a coworker turned me on to gold stars Anna and I havent looked back since! Every time I go in with a new idea, she exceeds my expectations!

I’m from out of state, I had almost given up on customer service here after my TERRIBLE experience at Q Nails & Spa in Colonial Heights but my friend wanted me to try this place. Only thing I was mad at was that she didn’t bring me here first! Such a wonderful experience, everyone was polite & looked like they enjoyed their job. The (younger) guy completed my dip manicure & I absolutely love it especially compared to what my nails looked like in the beginning. I wish I would’ve gotten his name :( Next time I’m in town, I will be returning☺️

Honestly, nobody can do my nails like David! He always does exactly what I want and I’m never disappointed. While I was waiting for Gold Star to reopen, I got impatient and went somewhere else and that was a huge mistake! I hated my nails and paid more than I wanted to. I will be a customer of Gold Star for life!

Went in about 2 weeks ago, the set before was also done by them, he says you have cheap nails we have to redo all of them or they will break easy, I said well you guys put cheap nails on, he insists I never came there before, also states dip would last longer, paid $70 for the first nail to break only 3 days after gettin g them done and collectively they just started popping off, I type on a computer, no vigorous work. Not pleased wouldn’t rate 1 star if I could, never getting my money again.

Best place hands down for dipped nails. My nails last almost a month every time. Employees are personable, and the owner Tippy is both professional and talented. Make an appointment if possible; its very busy and walk in availability can be scarce.

I have beeb a client of GS for 6 years and have always been So impressed. Today, after 3 months i had an appointment for naiks and pedicure and did not expect the lengths that the ownerTippy had gone to to protect clients, as well as employees. They ask you to wash your hands first, ar thenail tables ( which have been cut by half, there are plexiglass shields between and the employee abd plexiglass shields hanging from the ceiling At the pedicure chairs which serve 4, ratber than 6 clients. Chairs are wipeddown after each client, and instruments are sanitized and put in sealed plastic bags. GREAT JOB, TIBBY!!

Too much drilling, especially considering I asked for a gel MANICURE. They asked me if I wanted to use the dipping powder, (which is supposed to last longer.) I didnt realize until too late that included tons of drilling and no manicure. Now, $40 later. More money than I wanted to spend, I have pretty nails true enough, but have no idea when my natural nail bed will be back to normal....Ugh....search continues to find a place that understands what I really want.

Ive never had a bad experience at this establishment. I recommend making an appointment unless you want to be frustrated and wait. But thats simply an indication of their business imo

This place is great! They use the nexgen system which is an acrylic powder dip system so no chemicals and it doesnt smell in there. Ive never seen any other place like this or that does these nails. I used to always get gel but these actually really do last a good month, longer than gel!

I go here all the time Hanna and Anna are the best! The rest of them are great too, you can call and make appts or just walk in. Its a man that does pedis (cant think of his name) but he is great and really takes his time with your feet.

Fool me once... after having a bad experience here the first time I decided to give them a second chance. Shame on me. They proved that their lack of customer service and organization is an issue. My first experience was with a group reservation that they conveniently forgot about. Towards the end one member waited 30+ mins for facial waxing. This second trip appeared to be better. I arrived shortly after opening to avoid a crowd. Unfortunately after my pedicure they STILL forgot about me. I waited patiently before reminding them and was asked to wait in the chair. I continued to wait while no one bothered to interact with me. Ultimately I left without my eyebrows waxed. 45 min wait after a pedicure is NOT acceptable.

Came in for the first time time today, in search of a new nail salon and was suggested to Gold Star Nails. I made sure to read reviews before coming and it was mixed but I came anyway to give them a try. They were staffed pretty well and the secretary was very kind and warm. I waited no more than 15 minutes so it wasnt bad. Only complaints that I have is, my nail tech did not engage with me although nice. I got a gel mani with a plain color, and my natural short nails which cost me $40 on just that, which is way too much for something so simple. Total waste. I dont mind spending the money but the work was not up to par to pay $40. Im not bashing this place at all but whomever may read this who works there (owner) , dont set prices as high for something you wouldnt even pay for. To anyone else who may read this, this may not be the same experience for you but the price is still the same so just be vocal in what you expect because its your money youre spending.

This was the best pedicure I have ever received. I drive truck for a living and have gotten pedicures in many different states and places. I got the deluxe pedicure and with that came a hot pillow wrapped around The back of my neck and warm oil put on my hands and arms with hot mittens put over that with the fragrance of lavender. All of this was just with getting my pedicure. I’ve never come across a more fun loving and energetic group of people in a nail salon. Sidenote they speak very good English. I hope I can come back to this salon sometime soon although I live in Texas. LOL There was a bit of a wait but It was well worth it. With the location that gives such great customer service a wait is going to be expected because everyone wants to experience the hidden gem. Thank you guys for a truly wonderful day.

Came in on a busy Saturday at 10:30 for a pedicure, was soaking by 11, and being worked on by 11:30.. honestly, thats not bad to me. The technician was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed the pampering from small things like the heated towels on my legs after the leg work. I even appreciate the extra care given with keeping my ridiculously long skirt dry. Wish I could stay for my hands but I have an engagement to attend. Ive only had one technician (sweet, young guy) grind my cuticles down too much for the dip nails, causing a little pain and bleeding but that was nearly a year ago and was chalked it up to a minor mistake. By the way, I love the owners music playlist. ;)

I thought this nail salon is ran by an obnoxious unprofessional person I’m surprised that he has any employees talking yelling in another language other than English so so bad. I will never go back n tell everyone I know not to go there in their lifetime.

I really don’t usually leave reviews and this is not my usual nail place either but they have a serious lack of color choices and the nail tech used the drimmel to shave down my natural nails paper thin (I usually get dip powder these days and I’ve never seen someone make them this crazy thin before using the dip) . It really hurt I have never felt more uncomfortable in a nail salon. I’m sorry to say this because I tried really hard to like it after my nails were done but everything was terrible, not clean and painful. Beware

Great place I been twice and I just love the powder its even better than gel it last a good while if it wasnt for my nails growing out I could go months without getting them done again and the glitter is beautiful and they dont rush at all and you dont even be in there a long time so if you want quality work done then I would recommend you stop by and get pampered ☺

The service is friendly and efficient without being rushed. The only downsides are the website isnt up to date. It still has many services they no longer offer which was a disappointment and they dont have a drying station. Instead of the usual 20 minutes at other places it took an hour. With that said the lady who did my pedicure was very gentle, and did a lovely job.

I had an appointment with Anna at 10am, I arrived on time all for her not to be at the nail salon. They ask me to have a seat in the chair I thought was hers this gentleman come to welcome himself. I ask where is Anna, then he goes to the appointment book to see that I’m scheduled with Anna. He then ask me to have a seat in the spot in which she work while the other nail tech try for 30 minutes to reach her. In the mean while they’re speaking in to each other in their language. The tech who on the phone talk to Anna after she was trying to reach her for 30 minutes. She come up to me and states “that she was going to be late, could someone else do my nail.” Her reason was because all I want was a shellac manicure. Who gives a dam what I was getting if I request for a specific nail tech then that’s what I want period. I will never return to a place as unprofessional as Gold Star Nail. Lesson learned, in which, I let them know is check your schedule before you leave at the end of every night.

Tried Gold Star Nails for the first time the other day and really liked them. They have a large staff dedicated to your different needs.

Salon was not very busy at 5:00 pm on Thursday. I got in immediately for a pedicure. One tech set me up in a basin of very cool almost cold water 😳Another tech comes over to do my pedicure. It would have been okay if she would have just done the pedicure. Instead she proceeded to blah blah blah with the techs around her, rarely paying attention to what she was doing. She stopped working SEVERAL times to blah blah blah. I dont mind friendly chat when people work BUT the operative word here is WORK. When conversation trumps you hands on, detail oriented job, I have a problem.I WILL NOT RETURN!! Waaay to many nail shops in Chester area with horrible service. Guess I have to drive to Midlothian for good service. So disappointed 😔

I asked for the polish on my toes to be changed to a different color because the owner did to my nails what HE wanted to do and i just want it to match. he states that he would have to charge an additional fee even though i just spent almost $100 in here.. just for MYSELF. i will also no longer be recommending any customers here. ive been a loyal customer for years and i am completely and utterly appalled.

Other manicures never last on my nails, but the Gold Star dip manicures are bullet-proof. I went back in for another manicure after 3 weeks only because my nails were starting to grow out. 3 weeks, and no chipping, breakage, scratches, or lifting!
