Ambushed by Google. The Family YMCA deserves 6 out of 5 stars. Google did not make it clear that I as a source would have personal information about me made public throughout the internet. Sorry, I will no longer participate to rate services and providers via Google.

I was interested in joining because the website boasted so many fun activities for children. Unfortunately, the website is terribly outdated. I called to ask for more information on the karate lessons, homeschool enrichment and indoor soccer, all of which are advertised on their site. None of these are available. I asked what is available for children and she said only swim lessons.

Do not go here unless you want a crowded weight room, hardly any mat space to do abs or stretching, or unless you want to be harassed by a trainer named Chris.

I get that the Y is trying to meet the demands of the health department for reopening while running the camp for kids, but its hard for those of us who have continued paying our monthly fees to re-integrate back into any kind of limited workout schedule when the staff is so difficult and unfriendly and gives conflicting information. For instance, the lap pool is supposed to be opened on a regular schedule -- but sometimes its not. There is a lack of clear communication on what is available and what is not. Wouldnt it have been better to just not open at all until all the restrictions are lifted to avoid the frustration of the remaining members. Informative and polite customer service is essential when there are members who are choosing not to return to the Y and are finding new ways to exercise and keep fit.

Love coming here. Equipment is easy touse, explained by professionals. Also love that i can manage goals and things on the app. My number one reason I love coming here is that its CHRIST centered 💓 as soon as I walk in im greeted with Scripture on a billboard🔥💕❤️

Not the greatest Y Ive ever been in, but definitely not a bad experience for me at all!The free weight area is super crowded, even at non-peak times. I think theres just too many machines crammed into a small space and that doesnt leave a ton of room for the dumbbell area. But, if you go into one of the group exercise rooms, you can find a little bit more space. Its hard to find a place to stretch and do core, too.The pool is also always crowded. They need more lap lanes than just 2-3. I went on a weekday afternoon and shared a lane with someone and there were multiple people in line behind me to avoid doing more than two people to a lane. I also went on a Saturday morning right at 8 AM and the pool opened 15 minutes late and there were a couple pool noodles that kept appearing in my lane that I had to move. However, I love the amount of machines they have! I have always found an elliptical, even when it was in a peak time!

I love that the Y is very family oriented. I can be myself and feel comfortable working out . The classes and instructors are amazing . I usually go to Dawns Rogers class and she always challenge me to push my body. Now I’m reaching my body goals ! I come to the Hamilton Y almost 4 days a week and the people there has become like family. I thoroughly enjoy working out and interacting with the people there !

Can be crowded in the morning, so if you try a class at 9 be sure to get there early to find parking and have time to make it to class. In the afternoons its not as crowded, but does begin to pick up by around 5:30. There is a pretty diverse variety of classes and times, so everyone should be able to find something that fits their schedules. The people that come to the YMCA at Hamilton Place are also just really friendly. It feels more natural here (than downtown) to talk to people in the class. Each of the instructors Ive interacted with have been pretty upbeat but also will encourage you to push on.

I love going to the Hamilton YMCA Silver Sneakers classes on Monday and Wednesday at 9 AM and sometimes to a senior yoga class on Wednesday at 11:00. There I meet other seniors and we have a good time together while we are exercising. Plus you get to see young people and children and the energy level is totally encouraging. I text my daughter and say well Im going to shake the fat and she is so happy to know Im exercising.

I am a new member of the Hamilton YMCA. So far I have had a great experience at the facility. I bring my step-kids to the Y on a regular basis and let them enjoy playing basketball in the gym while I do my workout in the fitness center. My experience with the floor staff in the fitness center has been really good. They are always very helpful when I have questions. They will also help me correct my form if they see me doing something incorrectly. The front desk is always super nice and knows me by name. They always make it a point to give me a friendly smile. They are always good to the kids, as well. I know I will continue having positive experiences at the Y for many years to come.

The work-out classes are awesome and really help you reach your goals! I am a runner and prepare for marathons and half marathons and Im always working out at the YMCA about 4-5 days a week! The YMCA is the perfect choice if you want a friendly, strong and healthy work-out environment thats also a good time! You wont be sorry! Haha

The child watch supervisor mistreats her employees. She is so rude and has no compassion. The child care staff also doesnt know what they are doing. The place is filthy and disgusting, they hardly ever clean it with bacterial spray or even wipe things down. The child care is awful- they barely watch the young children( which we all know how kids get when theyre playing without being supervised). EVERYTHING is disorganized. The staff has no clue what they are doing because of the child watch supervisor doesnt even know what shes doing half the time. I am very disappointed that, that is what Im seeing when other parents and myself included see. I do not want little children to see other people being mistreated. Or at least have the common decency to do it behind closed doors! I would love to see things change! And FAST!

I have really enjoyed my membership at the YMCA. I have found all the staff to be very helpful, very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about work out routines and the equipment at the gym. I have been training for the last 5 months with Joe and have gotten excellent results in reaching my goals. I have also made a lot of new friends at the Y since I have been attending. It seems to me to be a very good facility. Its kept clean and in good repair. I have no complaints and plan to continue my membership. My name is Mark and not Austin Nickels which is how this will post, sorry. Austin Nickels is my bands name.Have a great day!

If I could give ZERO stars I absolutely would! This is the absolute worst YMCA I have ever been to. The head of childcare, Chelsea is an absolute joke. She changes the rules all... the... time. The adventure center is nothing but one big accident waiting to happen. The childcare is down right dangerous and filthy. They have an ant problem in the baby room and the mats that the babies play on are BLACK. It’s so gross. The changing table is so wobbly that it could collapse at any time. The baby gate was broken with metal sticking out so I personally purchased a new gate so I could make sure my son didn’t get hurt. The air conditioning doesn’t work in the childcare half the time and with no windows it gets incredibly hot in the baby room. I have personally addressed all of these issues and have been ignored and treated with disrespect. Lee Montgomery, the head of the Hamilton YMCA is right up there with her. Just do yourself a favor and go to a different gym! It’s not worth the money!!!

The YMCA Summer Camp for children was really a disappointment this year. The camp started out great - lots on energy and well focused on internal programs to keep the children engaged. But the last couple weeks took a turn. Staffing decrease, activities decreased, it turned into a day care I choose the YMCA because my child deserves the best summer ever - I spoke to Brook because the director of the program took the last week of camp as a vacation.. a bit confusing, maybe thats why they dropped the ball. We as parents paid full price for camp leading all the way to this last week, but was told that due to low staffing, rain etc. Thats why the engagement and activities were lacking?? My goodness, it is the last week of the summer - Pump up the kids, get them excited.. GIVE THEM THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER - Dont let your foot off the gas because you all are tired or short staffed - NOT OUR PROBLEM. We are not asking you to take our kids on a field trip - But create some activities.. Do something - HIRE directors with a little creativity please - very disappointed.

I am very happy with our membership here! Great selection of activities and there is always something for the entire family to do. The only thing I cannot recommend is the summer camp for school age kids- too many children, not a good variety of activities, and the Camp Fulleridge campsite is shameful. I was planning on sending my child all summer, but ended up pulling him out of the camp after constant complaints of bullying and seeing the camp site for myself. The Teen Camp is wonderful though- it keeps your child off their phone and active all summer long.

OLD REVIEW 2017 - Ill gladly change my 2 star review when about 5 machines are fixed. This is a great place to go but Im not sure what they are spending my membership funds on but its not ok to have leg machines and butterfly machines down for 60 days.Other than this issue, the YMCA is well-rounded for my family- stay tuned. Im an 8 year member.NEW REVIEW 2018 - The YMCA replaced 80% of the machines after my review a year ago and that was no small investment. Im thankful that the YMCA listened to the problems members had and responded with exceeding my expectations. Thanks YMCA for adding high quality machines for my Better Health Seeking experience!

I really tried to like it there....I like to workout in pool. I am very cautious and aware to not get in others way. I go in and stay in about a 2 foot square when the pool is busy...BUT..the parents allow their children to do whatever they want and no life guard will stop them from jumping on you or kicking or hitting you. Every time it is miserable!! I am sad but I am cancelling my membership but I wont miss the urine smell throughout the locker rooms!

Rude patrons, unhelpful staff, and the machines are not well taken care of. The free weight area is disorganized. Had to try 3 different cardio machines before I found one that properly worked. The downtown YMCA is exponentially better. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the child care is awesome.

Im confused are all these senseless people talking about HAMILTON place ymca, ive been in power lifting and weight training for years ,meaning Ive been to gyms up and down the coast, Lee is a great man and everyone speaks very highly of him, this staff cares about the clients that come in, Ive never seen any dirt anywhere, as far as child care Ive never heard of any complaints, dont get me wrong its a fitness center they are going to have issues, but I think if they were brought to their attention they would be able to address them, some of these reviews are not issues there a witch hunt, keep up the great work guys....

Been a member of various YMCAs across the country from NY to AZ and this is one of the most friendly and well run YMCAs that I have ever seen. My kids have been to their various camps and have come back exhausted from each one with smiles on their faces. We have also participated in the swim programs and have found the instructors patient, observant, and full of energy. This is extremely important to us as we have a special needs child and the instructors were able to understand and adapt their teaching style to help our son, all without holding back the rest of the students. The adventure center is huge and has lots of staff on hand at all times. The kids look forward to going to the YMCA all the time, which helps to get us off our duffs and burn off a few calories ourselves. We have found the cycle classes to be very energetic and the instructors enjoy what they are doing, and it shows. One thing we have noticed is that staff seems to have been in place for some time and is not staffed by teen-aged or college aged personnel that are just passing through on their way to the next job. There seems to be longevity to who we see working here, so that must mean the employees are happy. Well, they always seem happy and that feeling spills over to us members, and there are many days where a simple hello and genuine concern from someone can lift your spirits.
