Seems like all we hear about lately is the total lack of competent computer/internet service. We were part of that crowd after having two disastrous experiences with so called “experts” who took our time and money and failed to fix our problems.A friend suggested we call Top Notch and we did so with a “here we go again” attitude.Boy were we wrong!! Sam quickly diagnosed our problems, recommended possible solutions in a language we could understand and in a totally professional manner!! Once we gave them the “go ahead”, they made the necessary changes and upgrades and coordinated the installation of high speed internet with a new Internet provider. Most importantly, she taught us how to use our new business information and communication tools and she continues to quickly respond when we call asking for help!All of the Top Notch folks that we have worked with are technically competent, extremely personable and they go out of their way to provide superior service in a timely manner. So- old fashioned service IS still available- just call Top Notch- they guarantee satisfaction!!

EXCELLENT SERVICETop Notch sent Shawn Reynolds out to connect my smart TV and PC, which was beyond me. I did not realize that not all smart TVs can stream the internet. Shawn accomplished the connection in less than ten minutes. Then ,we turned everything off, and he walked me through how to connect and navigate. My TV is essentially just another screen with this connection, which is what I wanted.Everybody who works at Top Notch is a techie, starting with the person who answers the phone. This is a great contact to have, and I heartily recommend them!

I took my Dell laptop in for a battery replacement that was way too complicated for me. They gave an estimate & a 2 week time frame, but within a couple of days called to tell me the battery had to come from China. I wasnt surprised because 2 other places wouldnt look into it or even touch the computer. A month later & I got my laptop back. The guys were very helpful & even gave me several suggestions for a laptop for a new college student in the family. Awesome customer service!

Nobody else could fix it! My son dropped my MSI laptop and it wouldnt power on. MSI is a higher end performance laptop + I had a lot of critical data on it so I really had to get it working.Brought it to some of the local shops near me and after the diagnosis they simply said they wouldnt touch it. Googled and found Top Notch and they said send it in: we can fix mostly anything & they did!!! Also a lot less $$$ than I expected.

I really appreciate great communication and customer service. They really came through on a tight timeline with great service. I would highly recommend TNC.I had both software and hardware issue that I needed quickly addressed so I could resume work and the team was able to fix both problems, and actually found another issue that would have exposed itself in the future.I wish more companies were as great to work with as Top Notch.

They were able to meet with me right away, and Van was able to diagnose my problem in about fifteen minutes. They happened to have the part in stock, so I was practically in and out. All very professional and courteous, and the price was more than reasonable. I will go there again.

ETA: As of about 11 hours ago I would have still recommended Top Notch Computers to someone who didnt have a Samsung laptop, and Ill leave my original review unedited, but given their response, thats no longer true. Dont bother coming here at all, because if everything goes right, itll go right, but if it goes wrong, theyre just going to blame you and your computer for their own failings as a business.Two brief points: if, as seems clear from the manager response below, Top Notch felt from the start that they were incapable of fixing my laptop to a quality they were comfortable with given the brand, I would have happily eaten the $80 diagnostic fee of finding out what was wrong with it and shipped it off to Samsung had they told me this. Instead they kept it, fixed it, charged me over $200 and it broke again within two months of their fix, and instead of apologizing they chose to chastise me for my choice of laptop and pin all the blame on the manufacturer.Second point: An invoice generated on March 8th means nothing. My bank statement showing payment to Top Notch on March 23rd, when their policy -- as stated on their website and in their office -- is to accept payment ONLY upon completion of the job, and you have to pay before you can get your computer back? Says a lot more. I am well aware of how long my laptop was gone. It was gone for four days short of a month instead of a month. My apologies on that front. Perhaps instead of generating an invoice and dreaming of billing me for services that would only be rendered almost two weeks later, someone at Top Notch could have spent that time contacting me about the fact that work on my laptop would be delayed due to ordering the wrong part.As for reaching out to make things right before leaving a review? I could have, I suppose, but I dont have the time to wait three or four days for a call back, much less another month to get my laptop fixed...again. :)Original Review: I really prefer to support local business whenever possible, and this place had so many good reviews, so I decided to take my laptop here when the charger jack stopped working. There was only one reason I hesitated, and that was because the one bad review I could find was from a woman with the same problem as me (Samsung laptop charger jack failing), but I went against my gut and brought it in anyway.Two days after I dropped off my laptop and they called to let me know they had diagnosed the problem was the last I heard from them. I had to reach out almost three weeks later to get any sort of update on what was going on, and when I could expect to have it fixed, and I somehow came away from the conversation feeling like I was the one being a burden, just because I wanted to know after almost a month (!) when I might get my computer back. They had not, by the way, even started to work on it when I finally called.I got it back relatively soon after that, although again I wonder if it would have happened that quickly if I hadnt finally lost patience and been proactive. But the real reason Im writing this review is because now, almost two months to the day since I got my laptop back from them, my charger jack has failed again. I paid over $200 for that repair by the way. So I paid $100 a month before it failed again.Honestly, every other reviewer seems to love them. Im sure theyre great for 99% of their customers. But if you have a Samsung laptop? Maybe just mail it in to get fixed. Thats what Im doing this time, and Ill probably get it back sooner.

Very satisfied with both experiences Ive had here. The first time was a very difficult data recovery (restoring files from a corrupt virtual machine on a dead Macbook Pro). I had tried a few other places first, and they either failed or turned me down and said it couldnt be done. I was very impressed with the expertise. The second was an on-site visit to set up a wireless range extender in my field office. After completing his task, Christian was nice enough to look at why our car wasnt starting and give me a ride into town so I could pick up a new battery! Above and beyond the call of duty. Christian did an excellent job on both counts and I continue to recommend him to everyone I know.

I normally don’t write reviews (although I read plenty of them). However, my experience with Top Notch was so great that I feel it necessary to sing their praises out loud. What prompted me to call them was that I couldn’t get wifi service in more than half of my house. My house is 1-story and very long, and is shaped kind of like a U. I had purchased an extender from Best Buy and took a swing at setting it up on my own. No luck.Sick of messing with the issue, and not knowing what to do next, I started cold-calling computer and networking companies out of the phonebook. I don’t remember if TNC was the first place I called or not, but I decided I liked them because my first point of contact there (probably the receptionist) was very nice and made me feel confident about them. Together, we pretty much decided that I had a faulty wireless repeater, and she would send somebody out to take care of everything the next day.I received a call a few minutes before the appointment from the gentleman who was on his way (who turned out to also be the owner). He apologized for running a bit late, and explained that the guy who normally does these calls was sick so he was on double duty today. I told him no sweat, take your time. I was impressed by the fact that he called at all-very courteous.Chris arrived and got things taken care of quickly. He came prepared with a new range extender, which I was fully prepared to purchase. However, it turns out that mine was not broken-I just didn’t set it up correctly. I can appreciate the fact that he let me know this, even though he could have easily sold me a new extender. It’s a good thing, too, because I think I lost the receipt for mine. Chris stayed a while after fixing the extender, helping out with minor computer/iPad issues and answering a bunch of my stupid questions. I have to admit, I was really having a good time chatting with him. Aside from being a thorough professional, he also has an extremely pleasant personality. When it came time to pay, I was actually a little surprised at how cheap the bill was (I stupidly didn’t ask about rates beforehand).I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know. Im a first time customer who was referred here to salvage my beloved 2011 MacBookPro after it was pronounced DOA @ Simply Mac (read their reviews!) Over what was a necessary long-term fix (no skin off my back) their communication by Op Coordinator Samantha (with the owner involved as needed) was stellar. I also learned from her along the way. I was apprised of status @ every step, drawn as needed into the collaborating process, and walked out today with a restored unit. Even though the job got a bit more complex, the original e$timate never budged and in the final analysis they even came in a bit under. Assuming the fix holds up, as a 20th century reared non-techie, my experience was utopian.
