Cameron and Alex at University tire were a pleasure to work with and responded to my needs in a timely manner. I had three nails in a tire on my AWD Subaru Forester with fairly new tires and other places either didn’t have my tire or required I replace all four. Cameron ordered a tire for me for cheaper than any other place I had quoted and it came within two days. I didn’t have my tire key and Alex was kind enough to give me his personal tire key for me since I am from Oregon and will be returning there over the summer. He wanted to make sure I had what I needed in the event anything happened on my return trek. Thank you for your friendly and helpful service!

I dont have a car myself, by choice, but my dad takes his car here and he pretty much swears by the place. His former mechanic retired and my dad asked if he had any recommendations, this is the place his goto mechanic for years said. That was about 12 years ago and he is very satisfied.

Tldr; **NEVER** DO YOUR STATE INSPECTION THERE!!!I brought my 2013 Toyota Camry to them for the state inspection. I am looking to get a new car but COVID and the semiconductor shortage hindered the progress. I know my toyota is kind of old, but I took good care of it. I just changed the tires and brake pads when it first got to 60K miles, so it was a huge surprise to me that University Tire and Auto Centers failed my inspection and recommended me to change all four tires again, a year and a half later, at 88K. They wanted to bill me $1900 for changing all four tires, all four brake rotors, and all front and back brake pads. Out of the total bill, $750 was for labor.Thinking it would not have been ideal to spend so much money on a car I am going to get rid of in a few weeks, I decided to bring my car to another inspection site (Charlottesville Tires and Auto). The mechanics told me that I only really needed to change one of the bulbs and there really was no reason to fail my cars inspection and the tires would last for at least another 20K miles. So instead of spending $1900 at University Tires and Auto, I spent $33 passing my inspection and fixing my light at Charlottesville Tires and Auto.University Tires and Auto is a SCAM!! Believe it or not, all the negative reviews were the people who went there and got frustrated. I debated about going there because it is located conveniently on main street. However, I thought wrong. There definitely are reasons why the rating is so low and the negative reviews are the truth. Do not waste your $20 doing inspection there, because all you would get from them are a rejection sticker on failing your inspection and a bill so expensive they make you feel like your car is going to break down without fixing it with them on the spot.CROOKED MECHANICS AND SALES PEOPLE. I hope you can sleep at night.

Had my car in for state inspection today. So I received a call from David at the Seminole location the car needs a $10 bulb but it going to cost $210 for installation also just want to let you know that you will need back tires but not needed to past the inspection, just put $1000k in tires on the car that was purchased from you August 2018 with only 5k miles and you mean to tell me I need tires already. Of course it was rejected due to the bulb. Took it to Colonial Auto it was almost half the cost to fix.

A year ago around this time my dad got his car serviced here and they stole his locking gas cap along with the key not only that but he was told that he needed rear and front brakes but just had them done recently, tried to charge 90$ to clean headlights and fails him for his inspection because he refused their services.he took his car that was rejected to finleys service center and passed on the spot I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT GO HERE. Just wanted to echo past comments and reinforce: DO NOT GO HERE FOR A STATE INSPECTION.I saw the previous reviews and thought Id roll the dice since the location was so convenient. Well, lo and behold, they call me saying my prius failed and needed $980 worth of brake and rotor work (funny, exactly what I saw previous reviewers mention as their fail reason). I told them that was odd since I had the brakes inspected by the Toyota dealership 3 months ago. That was met with silence. I said no thanks.Got my car back after paying them $20, took it to the Toyota dealership in Pantops, and the car passed with no problems and no $980 brake/rotor bill.Im sure University Tire and Auto Center is well aware of their system/scam; they just dont care. Dont be a sucker.

I can’t say this enough, DO NOT GET YOUR CAR INSPECTED HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LEAVE WITH A $20 REJECTION STICKER! If you don’t know about cars, they will screw you for sure. Even when I asked if they were okay, they said NOTHING was wrong with them. Don’t waste your time with these people!!

My family and I had only ever received friendly and useful service here until our last visit. Im not sure if the ethical quality of the management has tanked due to COVID or we just got unlucky with who we interacted with this specific time- but we took our vehicle in for an alignment check as the steering was shifting left, which I explained to Dave- they proceeded to charge us full price when the alignment they performed did absolutely nothing to fix the issue as I learned the moment I drove the vehicle off the lot. The lack of professionalism in what followed was astounding. Dave essentially claimed it wasnt their responsibility to inform us prior to paying full price that the alignment adjustment would not actually fix the issue. I explained to him that our trust in them as experts was being taken advantage of and it would not be difficult to have communicated that the reason we took our vehicle in would not actually be addressed by an alignment adjustment. He would not honor a refund or at least transfer the charge to a diagnostic and was incredibly abrasive. We were basically just swindled. Would not recommend going here, take your vehicle and money to an establishment that does honest business.

Decent mechanics, crooked sales. Took my 7 year old car in for inspection last week...they called to let me know I failed. A frozen caliper and 4 bad rotors and a stuck rear break light. I had them replace the caliper and told them Id take care of the rest. I replaced the back rotors while changing all pads. They were functional but not pretty. The front rotors were great. All lights all around worked perfectly. I wonder if I wasted $250 by taking him for his word on the frozen caliper? He wanted $1250 for the break job. Subtract the the caliper replacement and I spent $190 vs. the $1000 they quoted. Student predators.

Simple questions no answers, more questions they called the POLICE on me!I brought my car (60,000 miles well-cared Subaru) for oil change and state inspection because my regular dealer was not available for a while. They called me telling that I need new front brakes because there is an incomplete overlap between pads and rotors (never heard of this before does not make any sense) for only 800$. I said no thank you, I will go somewhere else. Do you mind explaining what this overlap thing is? no answer!Next I pay my bill and decide to check my oil. Check the dipstick, oil seems brown. Sir, are you sure that you have changed the oil it is not very clear, do you mind coming with me to have a look?Yes, I mind! Please leave and take your car somewhere else or I will call the police!I had a lovely chat with the Police officer and left the garage.Best case scenario horrible customer services, worst case scenario...Draw your own conclusions and enjoy!

If you take your vehicle to University Tire & Auto all I can say is Good Luck. By the way, while searching for a more honorable repair shop, several mechanics in the area warned me not to take my vehicle there. I would give them a negative 5 star but it wont allow it.

While recently traveling for business, I was stranded with a dead battery at a shopping center in Charlottesville. I found University Tire & Auto by searching on-line. I called them and Dave quickly sent a very nice young man to try and jump start my battery. When he determined it would not take a charge, he called Dave right back and then went back to the shop to get a new battery to install. He returned quickly and I was on the road again in less than an hour. The folks at University Tire & Auto were GREAT! Very efficient, friendly and fast service. Their costs were reasonable and they certainly came to my rescue. I highly recommend them for your automobile needs. THANK YOU University Tire for making a bad situation better !

I give this place a 0/5 stars. I took my Rav 4 there since I was in Charlottesville for other appointments. They were accommodating and worked me in to their state inspection schedule. BAD MISTAKE! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR STATE INSPECTIONS! I REPEAT, do not go for a state inspection here. A lady called me and said my brakes and roaders did not pass inspection. I explained how could that be since I had two other places in Waynesboro check me out and they stated I did not need either. Instead, there were other issues that I took care of at the time. I confirmed to put a rejections sticker on my car. I took my car back to my regular auto place in Fishersville and they called me this morning and said, please call state police and report this as you do NOT need brakes nor do you need roaders. My car passed with NO ISSUES. I am calling the State Police today to report this issue as I do not want others to be taken advantage of and even more since this a place that college students may go to since it close to campus. I feel I should get a full refund from University and hope someone in management reads other reviews as this is not good customer service or business for anyone in Charlottesville.

I took my car here to get a safety inspection. After they did the inspection, they said all tires, break pads and rotors needed to be replaced. I felt suspicious especially because I had taken my car for maintenance a month prior at my home town. On top of that, it is a new car. Additionally, it seemed unusual that all pads, wheels and rotors needed replacement. Lastly, they stated it would cost around $2000. I rejected the service because of my suspicions and took the car to a different auto center (Virginia tire and auto) back at my home town. I showed Virginia tire and Auto what University Tire and Auto said about the inspection. The safety inspection was done again and nothing was wrong with the car. I would highly caution anyone from coming here. It does not pay to cheat people out of money and corrupt practices such as these should not last. Please rethink about coming to this business if you are considering it.

I came to this place for STATE INSPECTION because it’s close to the campus and I could walk to class. Already, like other people said, they ‘found out’ that my car needs to replace 4 rotors and 4 sets of brake pads for $850. I was stupid and I did buy this, my brake was soft for a long time and I was wondering if that is the issue. I said yes.An hour later after reading these 1 star comments here, I called them immediately and tried to let them stopped working on it. The guy answered me without checking with mechanics, “We are working on your car right now and we took everything down for replacement. If you want us stop here we still need to charge you labor which is $400.”I know it was too late and that was my fault. After the work done I picked up the car and left. But I found that the brake is as soft as it was before. These people are really dishonest and they will try everything to scam your money. David was the person answered the phone and billed me.JUST DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE FOR ANYTHING! SHAME ON PEOPLE DOING BUSINESS LIKE THIS!

Hats off to manager Dave who worked to turn a bad experience into a positive experience. My daughter has one of my vehicles with her in Charlottesville. University Tire replaced a motor mount in the vehicle in late January as part of a state inspection. I did not get to see the vehicle until mid-February (I live in VA Beach) and noticed one of the four bolts securing the center cross member did not tighten snug to the frame. It appeared to be cross threaded, the cross member would move slightly, and I was upset that they had ignored the issue and handed the keys back to my daughter. I visited University Tire in person on Friday 1 March and met Dave and expressed my concerns. He (or course) wanted his mechanic to see the issue and asked us to bring the vehicle back on Tuesday 5 March as this was the next time both he and the appropriate technician would be in the shop. Within 1 hour of the vehicle being dropped off, Dave called me to admit they had made a mistake on the repair and were working to figure out the best approach to correct it. It turned out it was not a cross threaded bolt. The front cross member bolts are shorter than the rear cross member bolts and during the repair the technicians got the bolts in the wrong holes. There was a long bolt installed in the front and it was bottoming out against the frame, and would not completely tighten. Dave figured out the issue, removed all the bolts and re-installed them in the correct locations. Dave called me three times during this time to keep me updated on what they were doing and finally updating me with the final diagnosis and solution. While I feel the original technician should have realized the problem with the bolt not securing the cross member, I appreciate a manager who will stand behind his shops work, admit a mistake was made and take the initiative to correct the problem. This type of customer service completely changed my opinion (and review) of University Tire. This effort earned our trust and we will definitely be using them again.

Dropped my car off to diagnose a noise coming from the center of the front end of my vehicle. Specified that the sound appeared to be coming from my inner tie rod or steering rack. Also wanted an alignment done after fixing the issue. Was told later in the day that my ball joints were covered in mud and would cost $800 to replace. The ball joints are about as far from the center of the vehicle as you can get (where I specified the noise was coming from) and having mud on them (not in them) is not an issue as they are protected by a rubber boot. I left being charged $100 for a BS diagnosis and without an alignment.Took my vehicle to a different mechanic who removed my skid plate to actually investigate where the noise was coming from. He immediately noticed the bolts from my differential had worn marks into my aluminum skid plate. drove the vehicle without the skid plate and the noise was gone. He dropped my skid plate with some aluminum spacers and fixed the problem. Also checked my ball joints and said there was no issue there.

Ive taken my car here in the past for inspection a few years ago and got tires in December and didnt have a terrible experience until yesterday. Although, I do wonder if I got screwed last month in December when I went in for an oil change and tires.Yesterday I dropped my car off for an inspection due at the end of January. They put a rejection sticker on because they said I needed new front pads and rotors. They also said I needed a new cabin filter and oil change. I immediately was skeptical because1: Last January I had my inspection done at Merchants and they said I needed new front pads (which I legit did need them then) so my husband put them on and got my inspection approved. I cant imagine Id needed to brake pads so soon just driving around Charlottesville, but I wanted a second opinion anyway so I took it somewhere else today. Guess what? My brake pads look brand new still. Liars much?2. Then, they told me I needed an oil change. Guess what? Look at your records! You JUST did my oil change at YOUR shop the week before Christmas a month ago! Ive gone maybe 3000 miles since then? My 2012 Honda Fit has a digital thing in the dash that says I am only down to 80%. The service light doesnt come on until 15%. Ugh, no!3. Then, I was told I needed a cabin filter. Yeah, no. My husband just replaced it last summer, not even a year ago. They are supposed to be good for at least 12 months. Again, shady.I went to another auto shop recommended by a co-worker for a second opinion and they let me know I needed none of those things and approved my inspection. My brakes looked great, my cabin filter was fine, and I just literally got an oil change. If you choose to go here, get a second opinion somewhere else before agreeing to any work. Im so glad I did before dishing out any unnecessary money.

I booked an appointment online for several services but I also needed a state inspection. While it mentions on their website inspections do not always happen right away at scheduled appt times I needed other services also so I didnt think twice about it. When I arrived I was told my appointment would not be honored and was rudely and loudly informed that state law says inspections are first come first serve. What about my other scheduled services I need more if I just forgo the inspection? Nope too bad! Appointment not honored! I had also chosen the option to wait for my vehicle on the online form and was basically yelled at for expecting to be able to do so. Why even let people schedule appointments if they mean nothing. Also no need for customer service staff to get loud and rude, I guess they are used to defending a ridiculous policy. I had a terrible experience here years ago but decided to give it another shot it was a poor choice on my part. Never again. Go literally anywhere else in town but here.

I went here because my car wouldnt start and towing was only free for 3 miles, so I was taken to University Tire. They told me they were going to replace my battery and alternator and charged me $610. This was after a discount. A month later, my car wouldnt start again. By this time I was home, 800 miles away, and my regular, trusted mechanic informed me that my alternator needed to be replaced because it was losing charge. He looked at my invoice from University Tire and noted that not only did they charge me almost $100 extra for the alternator (he called the manufacturer to make sure, and that was not including the very high labor fee), but they charged me for miscellaneous other things that they did not inform me of. For instance, Environmental supplies ($40).Altogether, he told me that my bill should not have been over $400. I will say that when I called to have University Tire fax my invoice to my mechanic, they were very nice and quick about it. However, to me this does not compensate for being charged over $200 extra when I was in a desperate spot. I did not have any other options and I am a woman who doesnt know much about cars, and I feel like University Tire very much took advantage of both of those things. Im sorry to have to post such an unfavorable review, but I just wish I had been warned about being overcharged here. I dont have hundreds of extra dollars just lying around, and I wish I had known to be more careful.

DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE EITHER IGNORANT OR PREDATORY!!!!I dropped my car of for a state inspection. Unfortunately, I did not have my phone on me and told the mechanic to replace the front wipers if they were bad since that was the only noticeable maintenance I needed. David then proceeded to try to get me to pre-approve all of the work on my car. I said no, because something was a bit off about a mechanic adamantly trying to get me to sign away my rights to say what happens to my car. I had to DEBATE and REAFFIRM my point multiple times to get him to drop it. Later, I get a call with a quote for 1300 dollars worth of maintenance on my car. Brakes, wipers, headlights, tires, tint, and other non-state inspection maintenance. I tell him to give me a rejection sticker and start repairing somethings on my own (replacing my wipers, headlight restoration, removing the tint from my windows). I got new tires from Costco (the tires did need to be replaced due to dry rot but I was told later they should have passed inspection). I then went to my hometown mechanic and was told that the brake (about $400 of work) and gasket cap (that was optional maintenance) was not needed! University tire and auto center even missed a side light being out? DONT GO HERE!!!!!!!! They are either 1. not qualified to tell you what is wrong with your car or 2. out to commit fraud. I took my car in and dropped off for an inspection the following day. I would have gone to the usual service/dealer had it not been the end of the month and dealer is not too convenient to work. While I sat in the waiting area for husband to pick me up, I overheard desk staff around the corner and one of the mechanics talking about the bottom line they needed to meet the next day and how everyone that came in was going to need windshield wipers and tires. I thought it was a joke and kind of brushed it off, until they called me the next day with a lengthy list of fixes my car would need in order to pass inspection. This was a $1000 list. I get the recommended service at increments with dealer, which are usually at major miles (e.g. 50,000) and am attentive to maintenance. I have only driven car 6k in the past year and mostly to and from work so I am not really running into huge issues. They also wanted me to get an oil change, though my manufacturer and dealer say I have 3400 more miles before I need one. I was 90% sure the conversation I overheard the previous day was not a joke and they were trying to take advantage of me so I picked up my car with its rejected sticker, mentioned what I had overheard the previous day to the same desk staff member who would not say a word to me while I paid my required $16 inspection fee, and I took it to another nearby place I have been before and found reliable service. Well, well. Got a call. My car needs 0 of those fixes and passed inspection just fine. I am out just $16 for the failed inspection instead of an additional $1000 and unnecessary repairs.

Received a call in the afternoon that they might not get around to it before closing, but that they would call back. Car was ready half an hour before closing but when I went to pick it up the person at the counter (different from whom I worked with earlier in the morning) told me to call the state police when I expressed disbelief that my wiper blades needed replacing (was told 3 months ago that they were in good working order by a different mechanic). End result was being charged way too much for wipers and brake lights that I could have easily installed myself. My wife and I were coming to Charlottesville to see about purchasing a used car and wanted to see about it getting looked over by a mechanic before committing to it. So we called this garage a day in advance to see if theyd be able to do it. We were told that would be no problem, theyd be happy to do it for us.When we arrived the next day (within the 30 minute window we specified when we called), we were told by the cashier that they would not be able to see us and she didnt seem to believe that we had actually been told that they could do it. She was surprisingly rude throughout this whole exchange.I recognize that garages can end up being busier than expected and may legitimately not have time to get to all of their commitments in a day. Ordinarily, it wouldnt even prompt a negative review from me. However, that doesnt seem to be the case here since they werent actually too busy to serve me. After protesting for a bit, she went and checked with somebody in the shop and then came and told us that would get us in shortly. We were done in about half an hour.I was charged about 2 1/2 times as much for this inspection as I have been any other time Ive asked a garage to looking over a used car like this.

I found them to be incredibly helpful during a crisis and period of high stress on a holiday weekend. Thanks guys! My only reason for knocking off a star is that they changed two front tires for me after a blow out but left a back tire under inflated. The sensor was on so I find it surprising that they ignored it and I ended up having to fix it myself instead of going back as I was under a time crunch to get home. They aren’t close enough to my home to use but I think I would recommend to someone in that area.

I would not bring your car here for state inspection. I am convinced that they will not pass anyone without finding something to charge you for. Not only will they claim you failed for something that is likely fine, they will quote you an outrageous price for repairing it. I wont be taking any of my vehicles back here again.

I took my car for Virginia State inspection and got taken. They failed my car for having surface rust on the outside 1/8 of my rotor where the brake pads do not touch. IIntend to return to the shop with a Trooper accompanying me to inspect their station. Hopefully their license to inspect will be pulled so they cant defraud others in the near future. There is no telling how many poor college students have been taken by their shady businesses practices in the past.P.S.Before I had them inspect my vehicle I asked the sales person how much it was to get the inspection and he told me that it was still $16. I asked how they made any money at that rate he said from the repairs that the inspections generated. I immediately informed him that I did all of my own repairs. I guess he didnt pass that along to the mechanic who inspected my car.

Recently I took my vehicle to have it serviced with the Main Street location and was treated HORRIBLY!!! They accused me of switching tires to pass the inspection(after we purchased new tires from Fitzgerald in Waynesboro and brought the vehicle back to be re-inspected). The Receptionist at the front desk had a terrible attitude and her customer service skills were unacceptable. At one point in time she actually seemed to try to engage us in a confrontational conversation. This is not the first time she has been rude or over dramatic with us; we asked to speak with the Supervisor or the owner and she refused to give the requested information to us. I would suggest that you send her to numerous classes dealing with the public and providing customer service. This is not a good look, let us remember your business survives off of your frequent customers so please see to it that we are served with Respect and Curtesy.

Awesome service, David was the guy that helped me out. I walked in with a problem, they fixed me up quick fast and in a hurry, and I was back on the road in no time. Basically, my tire went flat due to an large screw that I ran over at some point during my morning commute. I pulled up with a doughnut tire on, and the damaged tire in the back. He guestimated approximately an hour, but it only took about 30 minutes. The best part, the service was free of charge.

This company needs to rein in there prices and quality control. Something is off, and if you talk to ANYONE in the area, at auto stores, its the unspoken truth: University is over priced and willing to take advantage of your ignorance. Shop around. Dont take your car here for inspections. They charged my wife $200 to remove the floodlights from our car to pass inspection. They wanted to charge over $200 to replace the valve stem on my tire. Merchants did it for $75 (the sensor needed replacing). We gave University our business for years because we had no idea how much more everything costs here. I had an entire rear brakes service that cost $250 less elsewhere than what University wanted to charge me.

I’m a JMU student and will return in the future if I have any issues with my car (if the issue permits me to make the drive). I highly recommend this shop if you are having car trouble! To get a 5 star review would require 5 star service. I raised my 16 year old to work hard and be a responsible teenager. So when her car broke down, she paid half the towing to your establishment. Mind you, this was for the exact same issue it was seen and fixed by you two months prior. You gave us the song and dance that this was a different problem when we both know its not. I cant get that 300 back. You then fix her car again and send her on her way. Only to have a car that reeked so bad of gasoline I could smell it a block away. MY daughter being the smart and proactive young lady, called around on Sunday because you were closed to repair shops to get an opinion and was told not to drive it that it could be multiple things but if it was leaking it could be dangerous. So she didnt drive and after she argued with you all did you finally agree to tow it from our house to your place. Again, all my daughters work at showing her responsibility. I am appalled that a: you showed her a puddle of gas in the bed of the car where the fuel pump is, it didnt occur to you to clean it up as best you can in lieu of letting it slosh around her car, b: the older gentleman with gray hair who thought laughing at my daughter and the situation was an appropriate response should be fired. The way I see it, you are running an establishment that has lazy mechanics that like to take advantage of peoples time and money AND have zero respect for their customers. We wont back unless this fuel pump goes south in the next few months and you claim something else is wrong, at that point we made need to rethink how we approach this situation with you because you will not got away with a still faulty car and $1200 I have already given in less then 3 months. That gentleman who laughed at my daughter for handling the car like a mature young lady, should really give my daughter an apology. I will be sure to review your company on all sites and encourage people to go elsewhere. I hope a lesson is learned from all this.

Went in to get my full-size spare replaced. They had several other cars being worked on; but since it was only one tire (and since they didnt need to jack up the car), they said they could do it in just a few minutes. Sure enough, 20 minutes later I was out the door with a new tire. $65 for the most basic tire, including installation. Im not sure how they are with general car maintenance, but they seem to be on point when it comes to tires.

Have been going to here for routine maintenance because they seem reliable and competitive. However, the last time I went there for a state inspection, tire rotation, and oil change, I picked up my car and when I got home realized that the metal in front of the passenger side door was bent and distorted and the door could not open! When I called them they had me bring it back, which I did (expecting they could fix it), and they told me they had no idea how that could have happened and they dont even have the tools to fix it. So, I picked it up again and when I got home the 2nd time realized that the metal around the passenger door was damaged even more! Oddly, it looks like they damaged it more in such a way that the door opens about 75% of the way, which is better at least. But, the fact that they didnt tell me they did this and that I picked it up 2 times, both with different damage, is very upsetting.I would recommend not going here based on my experience...hopefully something similar does not happen to anyone else.

I would give them zero stars if I could! This place is run by a bunch of crooks. I took my car there just to get an updated inspection, and they tried to charge me an obscene amount of money to get things fixed to pass the inspection. Apparently they didnt know that I literally took my car to the dealer a few months ago for routine servicing/maintenance, and there was nothing wrong with it! To top it off, the customer service at this branch is incredibly rude. Please save yourself some time and do not take your car here for any reason! Would NOT recommend. Brought my car in to have new wheels and tires put on, replacing my current 15 wheels with 17 wheels. They claimed the 17 wheels would not fit the car, even with spacers - there is no way these wheels will fit on this car. Unfortunately I took their word for it and still left with a $700 bill for new 15 tires, alignment, and a new tie-rod end, a part that they charged me $80+labor for and I later found online for $15.2 months later, the 17 wheels are on my car just fine after taking it to my usual mechanic. Avoid these crooks at all costs. I dont know whether they are inexperienced or just ignorant, or just want to do the work that takes them least amount of time and they can overcharge for. Either way, save your time and money and go someplace else. Not only that, but when I asked to see exactly WHY the wheels wouldnt fit, something the tech and manager couldnt demonstrate to a convincing degree (obviously), the mechanic at one point clumsily banged his wrench against my fender, leaving a knick, and when I got the car back it was covered in black rubber dust and there were greasy/oily finger marks all over the steering wheel and door handles. Bad, bad, bad.

We were stranded and they offered to help us in our most unusual situation. We were out of town with only one adult driver there were not enough seats for us all in the tow truck or cab. They came out with the courtesy vehicle and transported us safely from the summer heat. They offered water and even gave the kids a treat while they worked to get us back on the road.. Our trip had a hiccup but University Tire and Auto Center made it so the kids and I hardly notice the inconvenience. They were truly a heaven sent! Our appreciation cant be expressed enough.

I took my car in for an inspection and they failed it because of the exhaust and front headlight. They told me that it would cost around $1300 to fix everything. They said the exhaust was cracked and needed to be replaced. I wanted a second opinion so I took my car to Meineke on 29 and they gave me an estimate of $340. Meineke was able to put my exhaust on in one day and for $1000 less than what these crooks were charging. I asked meineke about the headlight problem and they said that the bracket around the light had broken and that they had fixed it free of charge. I have never written reviews about businesses because most businesses arent crooks like these people. So if you need car work done, AVOID these people at all cost.

Very disappointing service, sorry you cant give 0 stars. I took my car to be inspected on 9/20/17 and it failed. Was told I needed to replace RR shock but should replace both. I told them ok just put the rejection sticker on my car and Id have my mechanic take care of it within the 15 day window. Got repair done by my mechanic and this time my husband took the car to be reinspected on 9/30/17. Car FAILED AGAIN!!! Was told this time it failed because I had a knot on one of my tires and they were dry rotted. How was all this missed the first time??? Now I need not 1 but 4 tires!!!! Are you serious????? I probably would have been ok with 2 tires but 4...really!!!! I realize it was the end of the month but wow Im confused. What else havent you told me needs to be repaired to pass inspection. Where do I begin? They wanted to charge me $286 for new headlights to pass inspection. All that was needed were two screws to hold the current headlight in. Then, they were charging $886 for 3 tires, alignment, and new rotors (which I didnt need -- the new one could be re-tooled). Asked them for a rejection sticker, took it to Sears, half the price (and they threw in the two headlight screws). In short: do NOT go here, under any circumstances, unless downtown convenience is more important than cost. Borderline unethical.

Shady business practices, poor quality work. They failed my inspection to sell me on a brake job that didnt need to be done. They said I needed new brake pads and rotors. I measured the pads, and the rotors and they both had at least a year left in them based on the tolerances in the factory shop manual. They also quoted me over $500 for the service when the parts retail for $120 and the job shouldnt take more than an hour if you know what youre doing. They also over torqued my lug nuts to the point where I couldnt get them off with a 400 ft lb impact driver (spec is 90 ft lbs); I had to use a breaker bar with a 3 foot jack handle to get them off. Nothing was lubricated as it was put back together. A reputable shop would apply anti seize to bolts as theyre reassembled, especially brake parts since theyre so exposed to the elements. This may seem petty, but these are the sort of corner cutting practices that cost you money in the future. Spend the extra money and go to a real shop, itll save you in the long run.
