I love this waxing location. Ive been to another waxing place here in CLT, and the services there is horrible. They dont treat your parts like how the girls in Rio do. I love it here! Theyre always on time, they provide you professionalism, and the girls are just friendly and caring. They make sure youre comfortable through out your whole appointment. Thank you!

They have a super friendly team at Rio! Great prices for the services offered (seemingly competitive with “bundle prices” offered by other franchises). I also love the (current) practice of “clean” and “used” pens for signing in. So far my experience with scheduling my appointments: late evening during peak hours (dinner time/rush hour)... it tends to be a bit difficult to find parking in the boardwalk area, so give yourself a little extra time when making your appointment. I also like that clients can easily book appointments online to reserve a spot for multiple services without needing to call in. Glad I found this place.

This is my second time with Ana and it is always such a pleasant time! She is so wonderful, sweet, and professional! Does a great job on my Brazilian. Can’t beat it for the price. Highly recommend!

I just moved to this area a couple weeks ago and it was time for me to get waxed. I was doing my research and found this place and saw the good reviews, so I checked it out. And let me tell y’all something, it did not disappoint! I’ve been getting waxed for a few years now and this was my best experience by far. Andreia is my new go-to! She was quick yet gentle - I almost fell asleep during my Brazilian, honestly. I was going to try another esthetician that I was referred to by a friend at a different wax center, but there’s no need for me to look for anyone better. Rio has gained another loyal customer!

First time getting waxed && 8 months pregnant they made my experience extremely pleasant. They were nice clean friendly and the lady took her time talking me through what to expect before during and after the whole process. She reassured me and was as Gentle as she could be. It’s something that takes some getting used to but once it’s time, I’ll be coming back.

I wanted to try a new waxing place and found this little place on Google and decided to try it out. I believe it is a family owned business and they speak a little bit of English, however they are very welcoming and make your waxing appointment very comfortable. I chose whoever was available to wax so I didn’t catch her name but she had long hair tied in a ponytail and she was very thorough and sweet. They have a running fan in the room as well as wipes and music playing to help you get more comfortable. For only 35 dollars, you can’t really beat the price at all. They make sure every little strand of hair is removed and cool you off with some sort of gel afterwards. I highly recommend this place! Will be returning!

I just started going there because of their prices. I was very skeptical since the first time I didn’t have the greatest experience they took over 1.5 hours and you could tell the young lady was still practicing. I gave it another shot with Veridiana and I loved it! She is fast, detailed, and very nice! I will keep going to her.

Walked in and was seen in a timely manner! Anna was great!! She speaks Portuguese but is doing well to have recently learned English. She was kind and professional. Considering I haven’t waxed in about a year (was shaving) this was one of the least painful wax I’ve experienced. I did full body and the pricing was great. I’ll definitely be back again.

Natalia was not who I scheduled with but she did my wax. It was horrible. She is VERY Inexperienced and cant speak English. So when I tried to tell her what I wanted she didnt understand me. She was trying to use a voice app, that didnt work. I had dried wax left on me and very painful. I scheduled a Brazilian but stopped her at the bikini point. It was a bad experience. Checkin was quick and the facility was clean. I will stick with my normal place its worth the higher price.

Made an appointment weeks in advance and arrived 5 minutes early just to wait for 20 minutes (with no explanation) and then was asked to wait for 5 more while they helped someone else. I cancelled and left - its unacceptable. I made an appointment for a reason and had somewhere else to be. Sure, this place is cheap but not worth the service and disrespect of time. Wasted gas. Wasted time. A waste, period.

It’s been awhile since I’ve got a Brazilian wax. I am 20 weeks pregnant and this was MUCH needed. I was taken care of and service was excellent. Wax is NEVER fun lol, but it was needed. Anna was my physician, and she was super sweet. Though she speaks Portuguese, she had a translator on her phone, and was super easy to communicate with her. She was so gentle with me being that I am pregnant. Ans made sure my pain level was tolerable. I will go back in a few weeks! They were on time, and super kind. This was excellent customer service.

Overall, it was a decent experience- you cant beat $35 for a full Brazilian wax. It was surprising, however, that no products were used before (to prep skin) or after (to soothe skin). The waxing itself was aggressive and my landing strip was made to be completely off-center. Dont know if Ill go again or recommend to others, but again, $35 dollars is a steal to have your undercarriage hairless!!

**UPDATE**Although the quality/value of my waxes at Rio continue to be outstanding, I’ve lowered my rating to 3 stars due to recent experiences. The past 3 times I have been to Rio I have waited 15-30 minutes for my esthetician after my appointment time. The second time this happened I asked the receptionist for a discount since I had to wait, and she said no because the reason I had to wait is because the person before me got there late and they were charged $10 so they were are already facing the repercussions of being late. I understand that this is outside of the esthetician’s control and I don’t mind my appointment starting later, but since this seems to be a common occurrence, I believe a phone call to the client would be appropriate. The receptionist said she could not offer a discount, but I should feel better because the person who made me wait had to pay?My most recent appointment was scheduled this past Thursday with Ana as usual. The day before my appointment, I received a text that Ana was no longer with Rio. I found out through a friend that she had received the same text a couple weeks ago so I don’t see why I wasn’t given more notice. Because of the short notice there were very few appointments available before the weekend. I had to book an appointment during my workday in order to go before the weekend. I only had an hour available and with traffic being heavy on that friday, I was about 8 minutes late for my appointment. This was the first time I have been late for any appointment, but because of my previous experiences I had a feeling I would be waiting regardless if I was on time or not. My esthetician was still with her previous client and I wasn’t seen until 30 minutes after my appointment time. I ended up spending 50 minutes at Rio for a 20 minute long wax. I continue to receive great value, premium quality waxes at Rio but if the punctuality and professionalism of the services don’t change soon I will be finding a new salon.Previous review:I have been going to Rio monthly for almost a year now and have never had a bad experience. Ana is always so kind and has always helped me to feel comfortable and calm for the duration of the waxing session. The price for the quality of her service is unmatched and I will continue going to Rio for a very long time. Thank you!!

First time going here, I get waxed occasionally but since moving I needed to find another esthetician. I saw this place had good reviews and booked. Ana is very nice and sweet and gentle. I had the pleasure of being her customer. The first time was great but the second time I was in a little more pain afterwards and was a little sore for an extra day or 2. I have very sensitive skin and I’m just started to get waxed consistently so it could be in regards to that but overall Ana is great! Book her if you go. And I received the Brazilian!

I was in a crunch and needed a Brazilian. My normal esthi was booked so I needed a fill in. I found Rio Body Wax and read previous reviews. I called and got an appointment same day within the hour. Natalia was amazing! She was clean and efficient. The only down side was the roll on wax and the concern about how to sanitize it after each client. Other than that, she was awesome!

I went here on Wednesday and I enjoyed my experience. I didn’t have to wait long once I arrived and my waxer was efficient, friendly and fast. I get the women’s full body wax. Originally I’d get my services done at GA locations but since moving to NC, I use the Charlotte location.After my first full body wax in Charlotte, I noticed that my legs broke out the next day with little white bumps all over- very unsightly! I figured for whatever reason, the wax at this location didn’t sit well with my skin. So calling to set up my next wax, I asked for the sugar waxing service that’s advertised on the website. The receptionist said okay and to just let my waxer know when I arrived.So through google translate, because English isn’t the first language of anyone at this location, I asked the waxer for the sugar wax service. At first, she informs me that she’ll see if another waxer can perform it. Okay no problem. Then after she goes back and forth several times to the receptionist at the front, all while I’m waiting undressed on the table, the receptionist then tells me waxing isn’t done at this location. This is upsetting because I requested this service while making my appointment before showing up and it’s advertised on the website. But I’m already there so I ask for the next best thing. Whatever wax service is best for sensitive skin.The waxer starts with my underarms, moves to the Brazilian area, and then another woman comes into the room speaking a little better English and wants to repeat the whole conversation about my request for sugaring wax. Then without cleaning her hands or wearing gloves, she proceeds to nonchalantly wax my legs while promising that they wouldn’t break out this time -_- She then tells me they only broke out last time because I had shaved- I haven’t shaved my legs in years hence the purpose of getting then waxed. She also tells me to use cortisone cream (which I used last time) and keeps rubbing over my legs with her bare hands. At this point, I’m just thinking about how this is unsanitary with the pores being open and bacteria, etc. The original waxer then uses some device that is supposed to reduce ingrown hairs. I appreciate this because it at least shows that you are aware that I’m concerned about my legs breaking out and attempting to do something.After the wax, I notice that my legs look the same way they did last time with swelling (not how they normally look after a wax). She tries to reassure me that this is normal because the pores is open and they won’t break out. Alas here we are the next day with my legs broken out with little white bumps all over!
