Dont expect any great deals on hardware; and even though its no Micro Center, its certainly the best store in Charlotte for PC enthusiasts. Their service department has definitely saved my a** a few times too!

Great service and good selection of pc parts. The people who work here are knowledgable and friendly. They carry PSUs, motherboards, hard drives, graphics cards, cases, monitors, etc, and sell Ethernet cable by the foot. Theyve also got security system parts.

Selling AMD 5000 series cpus for $200 or more over msrp. Might as well buy from the scalpers. Spend $50 in gas driving to Micro Center in Atlanta and you’ll still come out ahead.

I really want to recommend local PC Hardware stores because they can easily become a hub for the local community but ATD has issues with their pricing.They dont price match which wouldnt be a problem if they had reasonable prices, but instead, a lot of their items are marked up well beyond MSRP or what the manufacturer (or even other competitors) are selling their items for. I dont think selling a 30-series NVIDIA graphics card (as of Jan 8, 2020) for $270+ above MSRP is a fair business practice for the consumers they are supposedly trying to support. It mimics the scalpers that are plaguing the market and discouraging new consumers from entering the market. Even their RAM is marked up. 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM is being sold on Corsairs website for $162 while being sold for $200 here. Its tragic.TL;DR: If youre looking to buy computer hardware to build or upgrade your PC and want fair pricing and practices, you should definitely look elsewhere until something changes.

Nice staff as well as DIVERSE. I love that. Guys know their stuff. My mobo needed a BIOS update and they knocked it out within 30 minutes. Selection is pretty good too. Nicely laid out sections, easy to find what you need.

While I fully support local business, this company i cannot. First they receive 3000 series that they made exclusive to prebuilts which I can somewhat respect due to low demand. However, I draw the line when the mark up price from MSRP goes to $1100 for 3080, $775 3070, $2000 for 3090. For this I will continue to purchase from Newegg, Bestbuy, B&H photography as they do not mark up from MSRP. I understand bots and people will price gouge/ mark up but I would not expect a business to do so.

The people are friendly. It sells PC parts, laptops, and PCs. I went to buy PC parts and the stock they have is good. Nothing fancy, just the essentials. I wouldnt go there with a specific part in mind but with an open choice.

Imagine a retail store charging scalper prices for hardware then turning off comments on posts, or deleting comments on posts where comments are left on, when people call them out for it on Instagram. I’ll never do business with with this store again. What a shame.

Its great to see a computer store like this in Charlotte. Other citys have the convenience of stores like tiger-direct and micro-center. This store was great, they have all the newest hardware and plenty of parts to build your own rig. Customer service was great and I could tell that they knew what they were talking about. A lot of repairs stores Ive been to in the Charlotte area have no idea what they are talking about. Although i work on my own computer I wouldnt hesitate to ask them for advise. Keep it up!

I recently built a new computer but was having a bsod error. I took it too them and they took care of the problem in a very timely manner. They are very friendly and are passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. The computer repair department is a blessing in disguise would definitely go again for any future problems.

These guys were great to me! My desktop has been acting up since October and driving me insane because I could not figure out what was wrong. I called and asked if they could help me out and they told me to go ahead and bring it in. When I did they hooked it up to a monitor while I was standing there and the guy who helped me out listened and was extremely polite!! He told me what he thought it might be and said hed run tests and call me back! Also, my computer is a bit old and was running Vista and when I told him I wanted to upgrade he offered to do it for me- AND they have windows 7 cheaper than other places! Theyve been great

I love this place. My roommate and I both have purchased items in the store. Doug has been very helpful ever time I have visited. Today, we dropped a computer off with a bad motherboard around 1pm. They said they would try to get it done by the end of the day. They replaced the motherboard and even stayed 30 minutes after close to finish it up.

They are always trying to get the sale from the people that dont need it. When i was there I saw the workers there attempting to tell an older individual that getting this new product was so much more worth it than the less expensive older model when the only thing that changed on it was some extremely insignificant item. When I asked them details about a product i wanted to purchase they knew almost nothing about the item and I had to google the information to get what I wanted. However I give them 3 stars because they are a rare store that still has computer hardware and cases in a brick and mortar store.

Regularly use this place for business purchases, and have used for personal purchases as well. Atd Computers is one of the only computer hardware stores in Charlotte and they have a great selection of items. They even have refurbished systems ready to go for a good price, and some other things, such as computer components and business networking equipment, you otherwise could only get online. A great store with super nice and k knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended for pc parts and electronics!

They do not stock much of anything anymore the tech dept use to be very helpful whereas now they wont even talk to you or answer questions anymore. Gone down hill bad.

Brought computer for a charging issue. Continually asked for additional time to diagnose problem and each time I called back, their theory of what was going on was the same. I would explain each time that this is what they said last time and we had already looked into that...then they would ask for additional time. This went on for several weeks until they simply said they had no idea what was wrong. Meanwhile, their delays had pushed me out of the time window when I could have returned the laptop for a refund. The one positive was that they didnt charge me for their efforts, but I still dont think I got my moneys worth...

If you are someone who builds your own PCs they are the best game in town... Unfortunately thats still not saying a lot.

Anytime our company needs a higher level of equipment and service than generic office stores can supply, this is our go to. Doesnt let us down in price or service.

Was in the store looking for new or used parts for my next build. Not one person talked to me or my wife. No hello or goodbye upon entering and leaving their store. They were all hanging out in the middle chatting amongst themselves. Some of their equipment seemed dated and overpriced anyways. Would have been willing to pay some extra money for customer service, loyalty programs etc. But that seems to be lacking here. Will buy online where it is cheaper. This is why Amazon is beating out all of these smaller businesses. If you are going to compete you have to offer top notch services.

I purchased a new hard drive from these guys a few months ago, after 4 months the hard drive went out.I went into the store asking for a diagnostic from their tech department to ensure that the hard drive was faulty.They wouldnt provide a diagnostic for less than $49.00 firm. Even though the hard drive they sold me was a new item it was in an opened bag when I bought it.It should be their top priority to ensure the device wasnt faulty when selling it from the beginning, but all I asked is for a diagnostic to make sure!I will NEVER go back to ATD Computer Solutions again, they are seriously over priced and their employees are not helpful what so ever.Thats $90 down the drain for a paper weight!

I studied up on how to build a computer and decided to go with it. I went to atd and explained what I wanted to do and they set in and explained to me what exactly i needed and how I should go about doing this. They are very smart and very helpful. Even though it takes a while to drive from the other side of concord to atd, I still will do it when I need major computer parts.

Service Department was very nice and patient. Worked and showed me what was wrong. Tried hard to save me money. Went back a month later and they fixed what was wrong for free. Unrelated problem with my laptop. Could have easily said they needed to keep it and charged me for my problem, but did not.

I spent four hours driving all over Gastonia and Charlotte looking for a CPU fan January 2, 2017. No one had one in stock to help me get my computer running until I came across ATD. They had a fan in stock, and I was amazed that I could get my computer fixed so quickly and cheaply, thanks to the professionals at ATD!

Extremely helpful staff! Hard to find a place in Charlotte that allows you to walk in and buy an entire PC setup without going to Amazon or buying a prebuilt.

This is an update...2 yrs later (2018)... Well my MacAir is fried and my data is stuck on a dead computer. Apple...made an appointment for me with a contracted Apple dealer...$75 to diagnose BUT goes towards the repair. $129-$149 PLUS $79 for 1 Terabyte storage to transfer...I cant bring my own storage.CALLED ATD...They still have refurbished laptops for $250. They were so nice and helpful. I spoke with Sales and then Repair. $59 to pull my files from dead Mac AND I could bring my own storage!!I wanted to update my post because I truly believe in consistency. Ive never met the owner of this mom & pop shop but I always believe employees are a reflection of the owner and management.2 years later...still professional...still empathetic with my problem and still make good recommendations using words I can understand. They dont make you feel used, abused or that you need to take a shower to get the salesperson slime off you.I still highly recommend this company. They do carry a lot of electronics that are not laptop or desktops...Support your small business community!CHECK THEM OUT!ENJOY!Its very hard to find anyone to work on your computer that you can trust. When you have a problem its like diagnosing a noise in your car...all technicians have their own theory or methods for narrowing down the problem. Sometimes it takes time to find the bug causing the issue.I bought a refurbished laptop for a fantastic price and they loaded it with everything from spyware to the best software programs I could use for my business. I have had a few problems...just like buying a used car...you dont know whats under the hood or how it was maintained. ATD helped me understand everything. How do people buy something and not figure out its used until they get home?? Not repaired on time? Thats like asking a doctor when youll feel better. Of course those of us who use our computers for work lose money during a repair. Youre not unique. I also lose money when my car is in the shop. (Its part of life.) I ordered a Samsung 840EVO 1TB SSd from ATD because they offered the lowest price I could find. They shipped it the day I ordered it, did not charge for shipping, and I received it two days later. It is exactly as described and works great in my computer

Dropped off my Alienware laptop last week, its around 5 years old and has been unable to boot with the main graphics card. ATD told me theyd check it in for a free diagnostic, and since I didnt have time to do it myself I left it with them. A simple diagnosis took a week, and I was excited when they called saying my computer was working. This particular laptop has 2 graphics cards, one onboard and the main graphics card. I suspect the problem is something to do with drivers because I was able to get it to boot after disabling my main graphics card which I told them BEFORE I dropped it off. Anyway, I finally pick up my computer and get it home only to realize that the technician disabled my graphics card and called it fixed. Needless to say I am furious and recommend that anyone who needs work done on a computer to call a friend or find somewhere else. This place is worthless along with all of its technicians. Dont call them asking for help, they make fun of and curse about their customers on the phones. Take your business somewhere where youll be respected.

Bought a computer for my husband here. Never had an experience this bad. After telling them what he needed the computer for. The assistant manager assured me this computer had a powerful graphics card and was able to play most games out there. Unfortunately we were sold a $50 video card that required 350watts to use and the machine they gave me was 300watt Power supply.After arguing with the assistant manager about how this $900 computer came with one of the cheapest worse cards you can buy and a power supply that couldnt run a dreamcast. He told us we should not be doing business with him anymore and we didnt know anything about computers because just because it said minimum 350watts doesnt mean it wont run to its fullest power at 300 watts.We then asked for the manager above him and we got the owner. The owner shushed this assistant manager up from arguing with us and gave us a free (cheap but better powersupply) for free. After looking at every single store in our area and also online This is the most expenisve store there is.The quality of items are good but you need to be careful they will try to sell you low brand low cost items at very very high prices. We did end up keeping the computer, (he needed one then couldnt wait any longer for work)After 10+ years of doing business with ATD Computer in Charlotte, NC. I can no longer recommend them or return to them for any services what-so-ever.Go to a big name store like Walmart or bestbuy and buy you a computer that is an i5 or i7 cpu for 500-600 dollars, Videocard = $100-150 ram = 30-60 powersupply = 50. You now have a computer built less than $1000 that will play any game on steam and run nearly any modeling program at great speeds.We paid almost $1000 for ours and it does not even run the game rust or day z on low settings without lots of lag.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ( I hate to say it because they were good to me for 10+ years ) Now the kid like assistant manager there seems like he just knows too much to be a good sales person or even a good person in general. We asked him to build a specific computer for specific reasons and the computer does 1 thing we needed it for :/ This assistant manager is a liar and a BSer*edit* we still cant figure out how the parts in this machine come up to almost $1000 total ripoff and still have not hear from them for compensation*
