Place is still good to me...needed a part that was very minor. Online all out of stock everywhere and Acura didnt have any either. Used online was almost 200 dollars for a trim mold for the bumper.Went to pull a part and showed it to the lady... She said is that all. I was like YES.She said take it.I am very thankful

I am restoring my 1993 F-150. Every time I go to Pull-A-Part I can usually find what I am looking for and their staff are awesome! They were quick to point out their VIP program. If you dont happen to have the tool you need to take off a part I needed, there are staff that can do that for you for a nominal fee. Now, at other Junkyards in Charlotte, NC those kind of services are not offered or even mentioned to the customer. Plus Pull-A-Part prices are down to earth. Unlike those other nameless other Junkyards in Charlotte.

I went to pull a part today and arrived at closing but was able to retrieve the part I needed and upon checking out, I find I was short on the amount of cash I needed for said part! After pleading with one of the managers, ( whose name I find was ROB), who was very helpful but tells me very politely, its out of his hands (due to certain mitigating and presumptive factors),the cashier that was assisting me,( I find due to my unnecessary curiosity her name is LAURA) that she has come out of her own pocket with the rest of the money I needed to finish paying for my part and I was able to get my car fixed and continue my everyday life after this unexpected setback. Laura AND ROB , cant forget rob, I was broke as a joke, you guys seen to it that I was more than well taken care of. Thank you so much and thank you pull a part, for having the part I needed as well!!!

I visited the Charlotte location today and was super pleased with the personal serviced that I received from the General Manager directly. He stopped what he was doing to assist me in locating a part. I had stopped by this location several times in search of this part and he made certain today that I left with it in hand. I think his name was Terry, nonetheless he was the top manager at the property. Now that is what I call good ole fashion customer service.Robert Williams - Concord, NC

Bring all your own tools. They have golf carts for rent on site if you need one. Will barrels are available but Im unsure if you need to rent those. Bring water to drink as the yard can get hot if youre there in full sun for period of time. There is a hand washing station as you leave the site right before you pay.Go to the website to check the inventory to see if they have the vehicle that you are looking for. Also all of their pricing is available off the website so its easy to buy parts as you can see what they cost before you go in. If you happen to get a defective part be aware that they will give you a store credit and do not give cash refunds. If youre a do-it-yourself mechanic this is the place to go for hard to find parts. Also I go to place if you just like to swap parts out and save a few bucks from the auto stores.

I’m new to pull a part and how it works. I had trouble at the beginning finding some of the cars and understanding how everything works. I was fortunate enough to run into Tim who showed me around and explained everything to me. He even got some of the other works to help me with taking a engine out. This made the experience a lot less stressful. Thank you again Tim and all the other staff, from the works in the yard as well as the workers in the front.

I’ve been here a few times and to a handful of other similar places and honestly don’t understand the complaints. For a junkyard this place is great. If you aren’t ready for a junkyard then maybe don’t go? Apparently you can ask them to pick things up with a forklift if you need it? I’m not sure how that works but have overheard a few people ask for that service. Also, it’s way hotter out there than you expect and you might want to bring more tools than you think you’ll need. Depending on how much you are taking apart expect to deal with what someone else left you, maybe they stripped a screw or bent something and you’ll need to deal with that.I don’t want this to be complaining about other reviews but geez already, if you want to walk in and know for sure you can get a good part and have someone else find it for you and not have to walk on rocks then maybe a junkyard isn’t a good place for you. They are pretty clear that they only inventory individual vehicles and you pay $2 to go look and that you maybe should sign up for an alert when a car you are interested in arrives and that they don’t inventory parts. And it’s a junkyard. And the pricing...umm...yeah it seems fair to me. I got an alloy wheel for like $25 or whatever and lug nuts for $0.50 each. Cheapest you can get lug nuts for is to buy a set of them for like $50. So I think I made out pretty damn good on prices.I do have one minor quibble and that is I wish they put the trim line of the cars on the inventory. Parts I needed were only on a certain trim line. So that part wasn’t great.

I looked up the part online before I arrived. That is the way to do it. Otherwise you will find yourself wondering around acres and acres of parts. Its a great system if you know how to use it. Also you Dont want to spend a lot if time walking on heavy crushed rock unless you have boots with thick sole s otherwise you will destroy your shoes and your feet.

Review №82

If you have the time, tools, and ability to work on cars, this is a great place to check out. Ive been to this location and the Winston-Salem location, probably about 15 times total between the two. This isnt an old school junkyard. The yard is all gravel and kept tidy, so theres no knee-high weeds, mud, or snake habitats to deal with.Just a few tips to those new to Pull A Part... I highly recommend visiting their website before you go. You can make sure they have the vehicle(s) you need parts from. It also tells you the date the vehicle was put on the yard- the more recently it was put out, the more likely it may be that it has the part(s) you need, as cars can get stripped down a bit after being on the yard for a couple months. You wont know if the part you need is there or not unless you go look for yourself because people are removing parts every day, so if youre after a rare or sought-after part, the sooner you can get there, the better.Next, youll need to check the part pricing on the website. Ive seen some reviews saying they charge more than advertised, but Ive never had this issue. When you check the part pricing online, many of the parts have an environmental fee and/or core charge (if youre not returning a core), so be sure to add those charges (and tax) to your total so youll know what youll be paying at checkout. Most of the parts I get are SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than I could buy them for elsewhere, but it depends on the part you need. Some prices for certain parts do seem a little high, but again, this is why I recommend checking the prices on the website first. Remember, its a flat-rate system, so a part for a high-end European car, for example, is going to cost the same as the same part for a Honda, so you can really save a lot of money on parts that would be very expensive at European specialty salvage yards/shops, and you do get a warranty for store credit on most parts. It can also be a fun place to just browse if youre into cars and have the time. You never know what you might find. Ive stumbled across some rare/classic cars on the yard every once in a while from just wandering around after Id pulled the parts I came for.

Despite what other reviewers have said about the customer service, I found the Pull-A-Part staff to be very friendly. I always find the part I need (mainly attributable to the fact that I have a Honda), and it is always at an good price. I work only on personal vehicles, but all of the parts I have purchased have been in good, working condition. I once bought an incorrect part and had to return it; the staff was helpful and, of course, gave me in-store credit. Great junkyard, great inventory, great service.

The prices are too high but the customer service is good. You can go to their website and look to see if they carry the car you are looking for and were that car is. Management of this place seems to have lost sight of what a salvage yard is. The prices for used, unwarrantied parts, which you must spend time and effort removing yourself, are often not much less than an economy new part. No employee ever smiles or makes anyone feel welcome. I recommend finding a full-service yard with a concept of customer service; you wont spend much more, and will no doubt get a warranty/return policy that is actually reasonable.
