I’ve had nothing but great experiences at Nick’s Auto Repair! As a young woman who doesn’t know much about cars, I’m confident this business is honest and fair. Some anecdotes: At my first visit, I was told nothing was actually wrong with my car (it was making noises because it was rusty lol), and I wasn’t charged anything. Later, when that car was totaled (not my fault!!) and I was shopping for another one, I called Nick’s, and he gave me some helpful advice on buying a used car. At my most recent visit, they not only squeezed me in day-of, not only took care of what I came in for, but also buffed out a dent I had in my back bumper. This was completely unexpected, and not only was I not charged for this extra work, but they never even mentioned it—I didn’t know until they pulled my car around! I would recommend this shop to anyone in Charlotte.

Jimmy was great. I took my nieces 2004 Saturn in for brake work. He called with several updates throughout the day. There was a vibration when you brake and he discovered the front rotors and back drums were warped. He explained that it was not a safety issue and that I could opt to just wait until I replace the pads before I replaced the drums/rotors. I opted to have them both replaced as she needs to drive the car often for a 2 hour trip. I had planned to purchase new tires this week and asked him to do an alignment also. He realized that 1 of the rims was the wrong size and even called several contacts to try to find a replacement for me. Seriously, above and beyond and I will definitely use him again in the future.

A few years ago I had taken fleet vans to Nicks. I have needed 2 major repairs/maintenance on my car in the past 2 months. Timing belt replacement and clutch. Great to work with, fair on price and a job you feel you can trust.

Highly HIGHLY recommend Nicks autoshop. Jimmy helped me with the replacement of my timing belt in my Honda and also noticed a leak in my windshield wiper tube (which I JUST had replaced by a different shop). The price was so reasonable / affordable. I was also having radio problems and Jimmy let me swing by and just check it out briefly no additional cost.Really appreciate this place! I cant begin to tell you how amazing Nicks Auto Repair is! He is AN HONEST MAN! He charges you whats fair without trying to upsell you on things or trying to RIP you off! He told me what I need to do now, what can wait for later, when I should get things fixed and when things could wait for next time. As a woman, Ive been ripped off so many times and taking my car into a repair shop is always something I dread but not anymore thanks to a friend that turned me onto Nicks Auto Repair. Had she not shared her mechanic with me, I would still be getting ripped off and for that Im forever in her debt!

This is the best repair shop in town. I’ve been a customer for 8 years now, and I won’t consider going anywhere else. Jimmy and the crew have helped me evaluate cars I’ve bought, have done all routine maintenance on my wife’s Toyota and my Ram, and have kept us from getting ripped off by other shops. Once I had to take my wife’s car to the dealer for recall work, and of course their shop found $800 worth of repair work that was critical to do immediately. I had them print out the list and showed it to Jimmy who gave me a much more objective opinion on what was actually important and what was just the dealer trying to charge for unnecessary work. Lots of moments like this have made me a loyal customer for life.

After reading several reviews I Took my 2001 Toyota corrola here a few weeks ago. I was very satisfied with the service and prices. I was concerned that I would have to buy a new car soon but they reassured me that wouldn’t be necessary yet. My check engine light has been on for a few years and I have gone to other places where they didn’t fix the problem and the check engine light would be back on shortly after they did some expensive repairs . They told me if this was the case they wouldn’t charge to to the diagnostics again. I previously didn’t trust mechanics. But these guys fixed my car and my check engine light has not turned on since! They also let me know about my serpentine belt which was half gone. I would highly recommend Nicks Auto Repair and I’ll be coming back for other car repairs in the future! Jimmy was very friendly and straight forward when we first spoke, and gave me a price quote of less than half of what the dealer wanted. Got me in quickly and had my repair done in the time he stated with no hidden or additional charges above what was quoted. Im a very picky customer, but Jimmy and the team never made me feel unreasonable or hard to deal with (which I know I can be!) Jimmy is not a salesman, and I mean that as a huge compliment. Nick retired several years ago. Son Jimmy has not missed a beat. Over these past 15 years, Jimmy has always been courteous, honest, and extremely knowledgeable. For example, when I asked him to inspect my older cars struts and suspension, he found no problems and didnt even charge me any inspection fee.

Best mechanic Ive ever been to. I took my 93 Ford Explorer in on Wednesday at 2 pm and had it back Thursday at 6 pm. They are honest and dont try to rip you off by doing work on your car that doesnt need to be done. I saw a couple of one star reviews and these people must be insane!

I love this place. Nick was always friendly and honest. He would go above and beyond to save me money when other people tried to charge me waaay more than necessary. I went there once and knew this was my mechanic for as long as I was in Charlotte. Now that Ive moved, I miss having somewhere I can go that is trustworthy. Extremely reasonable prices on repairs, had our vehicle in and out in a day. Didn’t feel taken advantage of, they were very up front and honest. They serviced our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 97k with complete replacement of spark plugs, and replaced an ignition coil causing misfire on cylinder 4. If you’re in the market for an honest mechanic, I highly recommend taking your vehicle to Nick’s.

Nicks has been a life saver since moving to Charlotte. I drive an older car that frequently has problems. The staff at Nicks always provides amazing customer service, is quick, friendly, and does amazing work. I work in education, so a car problem always brings a lot of financial anxiety but I know when I bring it to Nicks they are going to do the best they can as fast as they can.

Not very friendly or helpful in my opinion! I could not get my trunk to close and they wouldnt even try to help. So , if this is what you call 5-Star service. It may say something about your standards. I will never drive on their lot again.

We had a great experience! Another car repair company (who shall not be named) quoted $1200 to replace our radiator (and it took them 3 trips to figure out what was wrong). I took my van to Nicks this morning; he replaced the radiator by the afternoon; and we paid less than $500! Im taking all of our vehicles here from now on.

Competing in a world where we can shop any auto part on the internet and leverage that when negotiating pricing Jimmy has always presented a practical & honest approach where, in the end, it makes sense to let him source the part. Simply specify whether you want an OEM part, or a quality aftermarket piece, and they will source and bill accordingly. Theres something to be said for knowing your auto repair experience will be as trouble free as possible.

By far the most honest mechanics I have ever had to take my car to.This morning I dropped my car for a gas leak. Turns out my gas filter just needed tightening. I took my car in for a second opinion after Firestone told me I needed hundreds of dollars of work. Nicks set me straight and made it very clear what the issues were and what my options were. I got out of there spending a fraction of what Firestone had estimated. Plus, they got the work done earlier than promised and for less than they quoted me. Im a Nicks fan for life.

This is an updated review. Nicks garage use to have excellent prices on repair and maintenance. Nicks prices were always under dealer prices. A while back they quoted a price to me that match the dealer price same work.

I took my car here after doing a little research online because the dealership gave me a HUGE estimate to make necessary repairs to my car. These guys looked at it, gave me a much better idea of what was actually necessary for safety purposes vs. what is only necessary if I cant stand the annoying sound, and at a much more affordable price. Like less than half. Ive been nowhere but Nicks ever since and have told everyone I care about to please consider them if they ever have car trouble. I have taken the original advice given by Jimmy and still havent fixed what is causing the noise. Whenever I hear it, it just reminds me of how much money I am saving.
