I swear that videography is that one thing every couple says they regret not having at their wedding, and Im so glad I listened to that advice and found Surrender Films! Rob is truly a talented professional and he excels at what he does. Since we were planning a destination wedding, I appreciated that Rob was so easy to work with -he is super responsive on emails and was very organized and easy to communicate with leading up to the wedding.Rob and his assistant, Lindsey, showed up prompt and ready to go the day of the wedding. We were not an easy group to work with; our rental house was packed and hectic with people getting ready and added onto that, we were graced with Tropical Storm Bonnie for our beach wedding! Our wedding video could not have more perfectly captured the essence of our wedding story. Ive watched it over and over. The video and audio quality, the shots he got, the way the film was edited, all outstanding. Our wedding trailer was to us nearly immediately so we got to relive the wedding day on our honeymoon. Rob came prepared with a see through umbrella for me to use to be able to take amazing pictures and videos. When we did the first look with my Dad outside is was POURING and Rob was drenched but you wouldnt know it. He was running around in his cleats finding the perfect spot to shoot the shot. As soon as I saw the sample pieces at the Charleston Bridal Show I knew I wanted Surrender Films and Rob as our videographer. The films weren’t just a run of the mill wedding video, it was clear from the beginning that Rob worked to make each film represent the uniqueness of each couple. I loved all of the personal touches that were in each video and it was very important to me to have a film that was not only fun but really gave a good feeling for the wedding day and for us, and would be something that we would watch over and over again. Rob was really great to work with, he answered all of our questions and worked with us to ease my husband’s concerns (he didn’t want a video and was afraid it was going to be cheesy and something he wouldn’t like). We chose the reality video, which I highly recommend!! When the wedding was over we were naturally curious about how our video would come out and are so thrilled with the finished product. A lot of my husband’s family couldn’t make it to the wedding and we are so excited that we have such an amazing wedding video to show to them this summer. The video and audio quality were truly excellent and the editing (especially for the 6.5 minute super-cut) was outstanding. Were still regularly showing the 6.5 minute super-cut off (its the perfect length to show friends, family and other loved ones without it being long, drawn-out and boring). It was not your typical wedding or environment...we were in a different location everyday and sometimes within the same day doing different events! Rob at Surrender Films is AMAZING! I don’t even know where to begin! He exceeded our expectations by far in every way! I was at my friends wedding a few months ago and was impressed how Rob went about filming the entire wedding day. Words cant express how much we appreciate Rob filming our wedding for us. He went above and beyond (especially dealing with difficult groomsmen!!!) He was able to capture so many details of our wedding, and we are so excited to see our finished product. He was there for every important shot, and at the same time be hidden and out of the way. You had no idea he was there, but he always had the perfect angle from the looks of our teaser video (which btw, he got to us a day later, and makes us wish we could go back in time to our wedding!!) As the mother of one of Robs 2018 brides, let me save you some time in your search for the perfect videographer. I have already done the research for you. Dont settle for one of your planners preferred vendors like we almost did. When our planners preferred videographer fell out of play, I went in search of a videographer that I knew my daughter would love. I literally looked at the work of every videographer available and read all of the reviews. Honestly, Rob was easy to pick out of the crowd and I was thrilled that he was available. Of course at that time we were still over a year out ..but in Charleston you have to be quick to hire the best! From day one Rob was kind and easy to work with in everyway. On the day of he was calm even in the midst of all of the chaos taking place. I honestly dont know how he manages to catch all of the special moments without ever really being seen. He had a teaser video sent to us within 24 hours and the complete package within 3 weeks. My daughter and her husband are beyond thrilled with the videos, I cant stop watching and I love showing my friends. I cant count the number of people that have told me that it is hands down the best wedding video that they have ever seen. The only downside to the entire day was that my 81 year old mother missed the ceremony because her ride got lost. Robs teaser video within 24 hours of the wedding made her feel so much better. She loved the entire video and said that if she couldnt be there the video was so amazing that she felt just like she was there. BEST DECISION OF OUR WEDDING!!! At first we were unsure if we wanted to have a videographer for our wedding, but then we spoke to numerous couples and how they regretted not having one. The search was on... We spoke with many videographers around Columbia and surrounding areas and none of them seemed right, either too much money or a little bit off. We met Rob at a Bridal Show; saw his other work and we instantly wanted him to shoot the wedding. We opted for the Reality Film package, which I would highly suggest for any engaged couple. Rob always kept us informed on what he was doing and when to schedule. A few weeks before the wedding, Rob came to our house to conduct interviews of us and our parents. He also came to our crossfit gym to shoot a couple shots. Rob even came to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner and was able to get some footage of us with our families before the big day. At the wedding, Rob was incredibly helpful and never got in the way. He organized dance sequences that made for hilarious clips. We even had a shout out cam that we actually won from the bridal fair, which I am still laughing about some of the interviews. Rob sent us wedding shorts leading up to the final product, which were incredible! They had everyone laughing and excited about the full video. A few weeks after our wedding, Rob sent us the final cut and we were blown away with how amazing it was. He has an eye for obtaining beautiful scenes and hitting every single emotion you could think of. He was also able to capture our story and I know he really understood us as a couple. Everyone loved the video, including us. We will treasure it forever. We could not thank Surrender Films enough for filming our wedding and they were by far the best decision of our wedding!

When your also in the wedding biz, you work with alot videographers and photographers- Robs work has always stood out to me. WOW!!!! I simply cannot put into words how Rob exceeded our expectations in every way. It is obvious that he loves his job, as it shows in every aspect from his punctuality to thinking of the perfect shots to the fine details in the finished product. When I said I wanted to do a first look that involved walking off an elevator at a busy hotel, Rob was able to capture it perfectly and never seem the least bit frazzled by anything.
