This is the second time we have asked for Mr. Handyman the first time was to fix a door to the garage. He did it all in an hour and was very professional and polite. His service was excellent.This time we asked Mr. Handyman to come and add a louvered door to our air handler downstairs. He came was extremely helpful had the job done in an hour. He was polite, professional and extremely helpful. I would have Mr. Handyman for any sort of job I needed done. I am grateful to them both.

In needing some electrical work performed, a friend recommended Mr. Handyman. I’d seen their trucks around town so I gave them a call. Explained I had two outside floodlights I needed replaced as well as an indoor chandelier. I agreed to their estimate and a man was scheduled for this morning. Tim showed up promptly at 8:00 and once I pointed him in the right direction, he went at it. He completed the work in the estimated time and headed to his next project. Tim had a very pleasant attitude and is a good representative for the company. I will use Mr. Handyman again.

April update for Mr. Handyman: Scott, Kevin, & Travis were an excellent team to work with! They impressed us so much that we expanded our project to a new bathroom, sunroom floor, wainscoting and barn doors for our den and many other minor updates. Scott was there on time everyday and a great communicator about what was going on day to day. No guessing about when or if they were coming as we have experienced in the past. Their staff (Karleigh and folks) at the main office were so nice and always in communication as well. Cant say enough about these peeps!

We had used Mr. Handyman two years ago on our kitchen remodel and Jeremy and Greg did a absolutely awesome job. So this last Friday we had an issue with our toilet and we called Mr. Handyman, they came that day and assessed the issue to where we could still use the bathroom. Since we are only available to be home at certain times, Mr Handyman worked with our schedule and got it fixed quickly and at fair price. I honestly believe you get your moneys worth with this company and will definitely use their services with future projects.

Mr. Greg Paxton and his team seperate themselves from all the rest, due to their compassion for everyone they do business with. It is inspiring. My firm has been doing business with them for well over a year now. The reason we are able to garner results for them, is directly due to the way they prepare us to do our jobs. We had water damage in our ceiling from a leak. We had a hard time finding someone to come make the necessary patch. The folks at Handyman were timely, helpful, and very clean. I was super impressed with how well they matched the design on the ceiling, though they aren’t able to always guarantee a perfect match. The gentleman who worked was very kind and worked hard. He remained masked while in my home, which I also appreciated. In addition to being super responsive, they helped connect us to a mold reparation company—Clean Slate, all of whom were super courteous and helpful. Highly recommend these folks.

So we used them for a load bearing wall repair damaged from water. They were VERY fairly priced for that repair. It was done quickly and correctly. We were looking for contractors for a bathroom remodel that I intended to do myself and have almost all the material, as in everything but the backer for the shower walls, grout and mortar. When I called for a quote, I told them I would take care of demo and it a very small bathroom and if they took more than three days they were cheating on labor and they agreed that should be enough time. Their initial idea of cost was between $2k-$3k labor, plus the aforementioned items that even with a 30% markup, would be $1000 or less. When I got my quote a little while ago it was almost $9,000.00! I told them my budget upfront. They tended to think it would be somewhere close, then it’s more than double. I would never expect an approximate quote over the phone to be exact, but not 200% higher. It’s bad business and they’ve lost a customer here for life.

We are in the process of building a second story onto our house. After some research based on the reviews, we contacted the owner back in September 2020 timeframe and he came out and was very cordial and seemed knowledgeable. He advised him us to hire an engineer to build a blueprint for our home. Thereafter we did as he asked. We spent a substantial amount of money on the engineer which was beneficial information on how to build our home. The issues first was there was no communication between trying to set something up and communication between a liaison and the company. The receptionist is extremely nice but wouldn’t give us a contact. Finally we got an estimator to look at what we needed and seemed argumentative with what the engineer told us and what he said needs done. Moreover it’s been about 2 months and we haven’t heard a thing from any of these people the estimator that was supposed to give us an estimate 5 weeks ago. There’s a serious lack of communication with this company and a lack of direction. The owner is cordial and the receptionist is very nice otherwise I would give 1 star. Moreover the engineer that was referred to us was knowledgeable and very professional.

I purchased a foreclosed house as is. My Handyman put together and installed a gas space heater, cleaned up some loose wiring outside from old phone lines and tv cables left from when the house had been foreclosed. He then fixed several places on a leaking roof so that I could relax a little before I have it replaced. He explained everything, was thorough and I will definitely use this service again when I start fixing up the interior this spring. Very happy.

Called to get a quote aaaand then they ask me whats my suggested quote? I think this is very unprofessional and would not recommend their services based on how they conduct their business.

Im doing a complete bathroom remodel. My former contractor skipped town with my money and left the work unfinished and made several errors. Mr. Handyman came to my rescue! They are doing a very thorough, professional job. They communicate well, work starts on time every day, and the finished product is good quality. It is however, very pricey (I provided all fixtures and tile, they provided grout, wallboard for around the tub only, trim and a few miscellaneous items - it cost me about $1,150 per day). I reservedly recommend this business. Update: Things got sideways at the end. Initially, I was very excited at the progress being made. I was told that the job would take 10 business days. The contract did not specify start and completion dates and the professional doing the work was told to complete the job in 5 business days. Since I was to do some of the painting and refinish a door, things went haywire. The professional got way out ahead of me before I finally figured out for myself what had happened. Now the final work (installation of a second door) has been delayed a full 7 business days and Im stuck painting moldings that should have been painted BEFORE installation of the tile floor. This means hours of extra work for me, including taking down a door and crawling around on the floor of a tiny bathroom trying not to get paint on new tile and fixtures. I feel that the work was rushed.

Everyone I dealt with at Mr. Handyman was professional, friendly and focused on doing a good job. I was overwhelmed by the dark, dated, unusable laundry and all I knew was that I wanted it to be light and pretty. Kevin was so helpful with design. He recommended colors, lighting, flooring, cabinets and counter tops that met my aesthetic requirements and stayed within my budget. Jeremy, who did the work, was on time every day. He was meticulous in his work and kept me apprised of progress. He also did some extra work in another room that needed to be done and simply had me sign a change order. I was very grateful . I will definitely use Mr. Handyman again. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Work was done well and efficiently, the worker, James, noticed and handled a couple of ancillary issues that needed attention. Very happy with this company. My second time using them in the last year, they have handled lots of oddball household things very satisfactorily.

I made an appointment to have my roof and gutters cleaned and I was able to get it done sooner than expected due to a cancellation. The person that was to clean my roof and gutters arrived on time. I was unable to be there while the job was being done but when I came home I could see the roof was much cleaner. I would have given 5 stars if the gentleman would have not left the debris he cleaned off the roof for me to clean up. I was also surprised that they only sent one person and it took longer than they estimated. Last time I used handyman for this they sent two people and they were finished in the time they stated. All in all I was pleased that they got the job done and I would probably call them again to clean my roof and gutters.

The technician and work was outstanding. The project manager overpriced the materials (I priced everything that I would have payed for everything down to the last screw 600.00. He charged me over 900.00) Then charged over 1900 in labor. I signed a contract for the job for 2870.11 before project started thinking it was going to be a lot of materials or higher priced ones. The project manager purchased cheapest screen and doors you could buy. So my little 8x20 screen porch cost me almost 2900.00. I feel was robbed for about 400-500 on this job. Oh and when I contacted the company and asked for an itemized bill for tax purposes and to return about 150.00 worth of materials that were not used so I could get some of my money back, they refused to provide it.

I needed a new/repaired sump pump cover; the HM employee chose to repair the broken cover and did an excellent job. I am grateful for his attention and expertise to the job.

I had them do three projects in one day for me. Replace and remove old sink, replace and remove old ceiling fan and replace hardware in old shower and repair switch to flip from shower to faucet. All three jobs were completed quickly and professionally and all trash removed and cleaned up properly. Very good job. Nice to get all three projects knocked out in one day.

Chad did a super job moving a clothes dryer from a relatives house to my house and installing it. He was professional, pleasant, and thoroughly careful in everything he did. Chad was also upbeat, persistent and creative in finding a way to get it through a difficult corner. About a year ago, we also hired Mr. Handyman for a pressure washing project, and Jason also did a great job. I would highly recommend Mr. Handyman.

I have used Mr. Handymans services several times in the past few years. They have always been prompt to respond and and have quickly and completely fix things that I couldnt. Most recently, I had a roof leak and an impossibly located floodlight that needed fixed and replaced. Don arrived very quickly and took care of what needed to have done. He was very professional, more thorough beyond my expectations, and completely fixed/solved my problems. Besides that, Don was very courteous and nice. Great value, good people.

Weve employed Mr. Handyman for multiple jobs over the past 10 months. Each time the office staff responded promptly, courteously, and efficiently to our request for service entered into the company website. Each time the Technician (weve had 4 of them so far) arrived on time, as scheduled in advance. Each Technician tackled his menu of tasks with good humor, expertise, and efficiency. And Mr. Handymans truck comes fully stocked with darn near everything he will need on any given job. And each time, the company has followed up with us afterwards. This company fills a need in our region, and fills it well. Now, some may think this service is pricey. But we have always gotten what we paid for. And so we are very satisfied repeat customers, and will happily employ Mr. Handyman in the future as needs arise.

I scheduled a service call to have a technician look at my gutters to repair a leak. The technician scheduled an appointment for the following day. When the service man didnt show at 1:30 p.m., I followed up with the technician. She promised to check with the handyman and get back to me. Two hours later, I followed up and spoke with a different operator. She promised to call me back again. On the third call back, the operator/ technician informed me they were going to charge me $168 an hour to fix my gutters. The problem:, they never even looked at the job, so how could they provide an estimate on gutter repair work if they didnt know what supplies, etc, were needed? After waiting around all day for the technician who never showed, I canceled the appointment. If this is the customer experience before the job starts, I dont want to consider what it would be like when and if they actually showed up for the job. Terrible, terrible customer service and follow up.

The roof hatch access to our office space was damaged during a strong storm and was allowing rainwater to enter the building. Mr. Handyman sent a repairman over within two hours to make repairs. I was pleased with the speed of their response as this was a time sensitive repair due to the potential for water damage.

The individuals working on my project were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Any questions or issues where taken care of. When the job was done they cleaned up their mess.

A year ago we contacted Mr. Handyman about remodeling two of our bathrooms. We were visited by their representative, and were pleased with the estimate he gave us. We were ready to have them do the work, but they stopped responding to my emails. We never heard from them again. It looks like they arent reliable from the other negative reviews that Ive read.

The company was prompt about giving an estimate, and scheduling the work. They arrived on the date and time that was scheduled, which seems like it should be a given, but often is not. The work was done well, and by a professional and hard working crew!! We would definitely use them again for other projects as needed.

They painted my shutters, cleaned out my gutters and fixed a downspout drain (pvc pipe). They were prepared, worked quickly and efficiently. They were in good spirits, even after dealing with numerous wasps nests behind the shutters. I supplied 3 or 4 cans of wasp spray and they used a few of their own. They replaced the hardware where it was missing and the shutters looked brand new.

Travis had a lot on his plate but found the time to get to the Glasgow Fire Department to meet Chief Blankenship. He didnt let a road slide stop him. He stayed in touch and kept me updated. He resolved the problem that we were having and completed the job successfully. I will use Travis again and definitely will refer the company to others.

The owners of Mr. Handyman of Kanawha Valley are unethical, dishonest and take advantage of people who know nothing about the costs of home improvements. I do not recommend them.

A Mr. Handyman technician damaged our hardwood flooring while removing our old dishwasher. I contacted Mr. Handyman and emailed them pictures and surveillance footage showing detail of the damage. I was then contacted on the same day by the project manager. The manager told me that he would come by and inspect the damage. He never came. He never called. So I contacted Mr. Handyman again. The receptionist told me that she would have the manager call me. He didn’t call, so I posted a negative review. Magically, the manager called shortly after posting. He inspected the damage and said he would contact me after consulting with his hardwood flooring expert. It’s been a week and a half... I still haven’t heard from them. Never again will I bother with Mr. Handyman. Every time I see our damaged floor, I am reminded of how irresponsible they are. Mr. Handyman doesn’t care about the damage to our floor, leaving me with little choice but to escalate the issue.

Mr. Handyman is definitely a great solution for a variety of fix-it needs for your home or business. We had a outside water faucet issue that was beyond my ability to fix, but not beyond Mr. Handymans! The gentleman who arrived to help was professional and polite. And most importantly, he fixed our problem! I cant say that Mr. Handyman is the cheapest solution in the area, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I will call them again when the need arrises. . .

I came across Mr Handyman by accident and who would have ever thought an accident would have such a positive result. Every one I have dealt with from Travis to Jeremy and Zach to the sub contractors have all been great. We are about 3 weeks into this phase of remodeling 2 bedrooms, entry and a bath I have already added another step to move to dining room and hopefully the kitchen is next. I will still have a living room, BR an bath. depending on my work schedule will decide when i do these. I am still living and working from my house and they have been wonderful with moving things around for me and preparing areas so the dust is kept at a minimum. I have a lot of work that needs done to a house that hasnt been touched since the 70s. I dont need to look anywhere else for anything I need done they can take care of it all.

I would never consider mr handyman for anything ever again. I called to get an estimate for re-doing my front porch. They seemed friendy and prompt said they had a tech in the area. After the tech came out, I waited 4 to 5 days still no estimate. I called and the girl said there was a problem with estimate she needed to talk to manger and she would email me the estimate. Well 2 days still no call or email so I called back she said oh I still need to talk to the manage. Almost 2 weeks later and a half dozen empty promises and I still had nothing. I called one last time and said I guess forget it, she ok and hung up on me. I have nothing good to say about this company.

Dave was scheduled to come to my house for three days to fix my drywall ceiling. He came one day and slapped some mud on the ceiling. That was it. I was not contacted again until I completed the survey emailed to me in which I rated them low and explained the situation. It was only then that they tried to contact me, which was a few weeks later. Now, I have received an invoice for $291 for what they say is 2 1/2 hours work. This company is unreliable and unprofessional at best and I am angry and hurt by their actions.

Mr Handyman has excellent reviews and was very prompt in sending Kevin out to work up an estimate. He told me that it should take about a week to get a price for the work, and that he didn’t see any reason why they couldn’t get me on the schedule.1 week passed- I called back and the woman said quotes take 2 weeks. Ok, seems reasonable.2 weeks passed- called again to check in. The guy that answered said a manager had to approve my quote?? With basically no time frame of how long that takes….or idea of why that would be the case.It’s since been 4 or so weeks and I NEVER HEARD BACK.All that said, this is the 2nd time I was ghosted by them. I was hoping the first time was just a mistake. We have a decent amount of business that I was hoping Mr Handyman could support, but I guess they dislike making money.
