Amazing business and incredible service! I own a 2015 Tundra and I had a whining noise coming from my motor. Thought it could be an alternator, water pump or a tensioner. They looked at it and said it was a water pump and they were going to replace it. They gave me a reasonable quote and when they went to fix it they realized they were wrong. The alternator was the issue. The alternator is a more labor intensive repair and a more expensive part. Lextech fixed it for the original quoted price no questions asked. I wish my wifes car was a lexus or toyota just so I could have these guys as mechanics for all of our vehicles. Cans say enough about the service I received.

Took my car in for leaking fluid as well as timing chain knocking diagnosis. Richard scheduled the appointment as well as followed up with me over the phone with diagnosis and a plan for repairs.They were very professional in answering all my questions and addressing all my concerns. They would not charge me for a diagnosis either.This is the kind of place youd want working on your vehicle. A+

Switched to lex-tech awhile back after dealing with an issue every single Rick Hendrick lexus visit. I have had nothing but great experiences and honest info from lex tech. One time I took my car in for a quick inspection because we thought we heard a noise. They found nothing wrong and didnt charge us a cent. No upselling work, only oem parts and repairs, great service!

I have not personally been to this establishment yet, but I did call them recently to ask some questions. The gentleman listened and answered what he could and I appreciate him for that. Im thinking about using this place in the future and this experience helps me in making that decision.

I have simply had enough of Richard. There are very few mechanics who specialize in Lexus cars and SUV’s and I went to Lextech in light of their good reviews. It’s no better than anyone else; quite worse to the contrary. A hassle is an understatement. Prices are high. When my Lexus RX had issues, he advised that it was not worth fixing and to sell it for 500 dollars. Upon advice of a friend, I listed it for 2,500 and sold it within 2 hours of listing. As a side note, 2k doesn’t seem much to Richard given some of his invoices. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt, as with many other times, and kept doing business with him. Today is the last day I will speak of Lextech as it is nothing worth talking about. I scheduled an oil change earlier this week. He called me today, advising me that his shop no longer does oil changes as he does not have the manpower and basically that he can only do mechanical work as it makes him more money. Why take my appointment! Or do you have an opportunity to make an extra buck Richard? Thank you for another inconvenience. I hope you find some tech’s that can tolerate you. Maybe change your attitude, pay them a little more given what you charge the customer, and be a little more better with customer service. A few suggestions that I am happy to say that I will never be able to follow up on. At the very least, when you make a commitment to a customer, you stand by your word. You did not.

I had my 2009 Toyota towed from Fred Anderson Toyota to LexTech for a second opinion. I was experiencing a combination of Check VFC System, dead battery, and possibly a blown fuse block. The tech at LexTech called me and asked me personally for the symptoms the vehicle was experiencing and wanted lots of details and asked lots of questions. Its very clear these folks, including the owner, Richard, know their stuff very well and take their job seriously.The price for LexTech to complete this work was ~65% of what Toyota wanted to charge. These folks use Toyota parts and its apparent theyre masters at their trade. When they called me back, they claimed that the fuse block was absolutely not blown ($1500 at Fred Anderson Toyota) and that the vehicle was functioning as it should after a simple battery replacement.They even took the time to diagnose the Check VSC System issue if it were to reappear and determined that the neutral safety switch was the issue. Unfortunately, they didnt feel comfortable replacing the switch as the check engine light didnt reappear and vehicle was performing as it should.These folks are smart, detail oriented, and honest. 10/10 will go back to them for maintenance on my 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser.

This was my first time at Lex Tech. I was very impressed with them. They did only the service items that Lexus said was required. The dealership would have been much much more, doing unnecessary work Im definitely going back. I actually could talk to the mechanic working on my car, which I really appreciated.

Highly recommend Lex Tech! They are honest, professional, reliable and informative. They ask questions to truly understand what may be going on with your vehicle. And considering you get the work done right the FIRST time... I find them to be reasonably priced. It is QUALITY over quantity with them. I take my used car there with confidence that I wont be upsold a part or service I don’t genuinely need. Also a plus is that I don’t have to worry about those pesky calls you get from expensive dealerships trying to sell you on a new car (even when they’ve admitted the used car is in great condition) after repeatedly stating you are not interested in a new car.

Everyone seems to receive assistance but I called to have my car examined and they refused to even have me tow it there. Richard claimed my car was too old and a headache to work on because old cars break down and that I should just get rid of it. I was turned away before I even showed up since my 1995 lexus is considered beyond repair. Yet another review here has a gentleman with a similar year and make receiving help so whats the difference with my car? I was basically rushed off the phone too. Honestly disappointed.

I have not had my car repaired here, but I wanted to write a review because I called to discuss some transmission issues Im having with my Toyota 4Runner, and Richard at Lex Tech was extremely helpful to me over the phone.He was very knowledgeable and generous with his time while discussing the issue and potential resolutions.Perhaps its more commonplace these days at repairs shops to talk in detail before bringing the car in, but my experience in the past is that the person answering the phone either doesnt have the knowledge to talk in depth about a specific problem or they dont have the time or patience to do it.I will strongly consider taking my car to Lex Tech in the future if I have work to be done, even though Im not in the West Ashley or James Island area.

I started taking my automobile to Lex Tech a few years ago on the referral from a good friend. I have always been treated well and told exactly what my car needed or would need in the future. My grandson was looking at a used car to purchase, so I suggested we take it to Lex Tech to have them evaluate it. Glen and Richard run a top notch operation. Glen practically has PhD in Lexus-Toyota mechanics. Honest and reliable, theyve kept my 22 year old SC300 running like a top. Hopefully it will be in the distant future, but my next vehicle will be a Toyota or Lexus, if for no other reason than I can have it serviced at Lex Tech.

We have been using Lex Tech for several years now. This is the best Toyota lexus repair shop in town hands down. We were being poisoned by a leaky muffler, we went to 3 different shops got charged never fixed the problem. Glen fixed it immediately and we have been going there ever since. Richard runs the front office and is a consummate gentleman, highly professional. What a great experience.

Places like this are hard to come by--so dont pass them up! Having used other dealers and national chains, nobody compares to the service and honesty here. I got a call this morning to explain the service and estimated price that I would be paying. I have had issues at other dealerships where they just never called to go over the work or even let you know that your work was done. You wont regret using them!

I used to be able to work on my cars myself, but not anymore. Not since they all went computer on me. I suppose you could put me in the category of the women, who are so afraid of getting screwed over, when the mechanic sees them coming. it is so important to me, that I, without question, trust the people that work on my car. Im a single parent, and to know that my daughter is in a car, that is kept safe and reliable, is gold to me. They know money is tight with me, and if something can wait, I know theyre not going to hock me for things that are still going to get us down the road. I have been using Lex Tech since they first opened on James Island. They have always been professional, reasonable, responsive to customer needs and have done excellent repairs. I have never had to bring the vehicle back for adjustment on one of their repairs. Its rare for me to say I trust these mechanics, but I definitely do.

Im probably repeating the same as all the other reviews but I cannot say enough great things about Lex Tech. Every repair is gone through and explained in detail so I, as a female, know what is going on with the car. We have used them multiple times for our Toyotas (both 2002s) after being taken advantage of at other places. One repair was a rattling noise. On the initial drive the noise wasnt happening but they took the car out again until they heard the noise and understood the problem. Quality workmanship on all repairs. HIGHLY recommend!

Unfortunately my trusty old Corolla was crashed into and totaled. I realized its much easier to find another good car - than to find such competent, trustworthy mechanics so I stuck with Toyota to keep the LexTech crew on my team. Im positive I made the right decision!

I would highly recommend Glenn and Lex Tech to any Toyota owner. Glenn has been working on my 1987 Landcruiser for over five years. His knowledge of Toyota trucks far surpasses local dealers and other auto repair shops. As a bonus, his pricing is quite reasonable. We now use him exclusively for our 2008 and 2010 4Runners as well. You wont find a better Toyota shop in Charleston!

LexTech has been a great resource for us servicing our 4Runner. They have fair pricing and will let you know what maintenance items need to be taken care of right away and which can wait a while. They even gave us advice on purchasing a used Toyota and they are the main reason we bought another one! I wouldnt take our vehicle anywhere else.

The replacement and repair of the brake booster was excellent. I noticed that my trunk release button is not working, but I was out of town and have not had a chance to bring my car in.

Highly recommend. Dont go to Toyota dealer. Tire pressure sensor got bad. To replace it, Lex Tech charged $98.61 for parts and $66.50 for labor. On the exact same problem, Fred Anderson Toyota charged $114.66 for parts and $195.20 for labor.

Very thorough and professional and yet reasonably priced. I would highly recommend.

Im suggesting you take that truck to them!Lex Tech has performed : pre-purchase inspection, post-purchase inspections, tune up, repair / replace rear differential, adjust 4 wheel drum brakes, upgrade axle components, upgrade to disk brakes, convert FJ40 to complete FJ60 steering components, Power Steering upgrade - using nearly 40 year old OEM parts - not aftermarket parts!, alignment, and more.And Im planning on an AC & a 5 speed conversion with them as well !From the simple tune up to a major front end upgrade..... there is no better Toyota and Lexus shop in Charleston !
