On July 22nd I was in SC on my last day of a family road trip and was scheduled to continue our trip to another state that same day. I visited Geralds Tires & Brakes (at Savannah Hwy and 1 Magnolia Rd. location) without an appointment and a nail in the rear right side tire of my SUV. Despite the long line of customers waiting to be served, the service advisor at the front desk was extremely helpful and courteous. Service was completed very professionally, effectively and efficiently. I was expecting to have to replace the tire with a new one since it was already diagnosed at a big chain store the prior day but not purchased due to unavailability.On top of that, they didn’t want to charge me even a penny. Obviously I tipped the employees involved, they were hesitant to accept it and extremely grateful. They did their best and we made it on time.It was a very pleasant experience, these days it’s extremely hard to find an honest and selfless business as this one. This business really does strive for high quality and their employees reflect that influence incredibly.

If only every place could emulate the work ethic here! They are absolutely fantastic. Each and every one of the team is so involved and invested , each person behaves like it is their personal shop - I just drove there and a gentleman simply walked up , diagnosed it ( sounds like a leak ), they fixed it up in record time ( another place had told me to come 4 days later for a tire which was getting flat every 12 hours ), were so pleasant throughout and were very kind.If I could get a team with this attitude and work ethic for all other issues, tire related or not, I would be one happy person.I am their customer for life !

These guys are awesome. I had a flat tire and brought it in without an appointment, they were busy as hell and had a line of people coming in and out. They were still able to replace my tire (for insanely cheap) in under 5 hours. Very impressive, especially given the volume of people in there. Extremely friendly and professional service. Highly recommended.

I never thought I would feel so passionate about a tire shop. These guys are amazing. I busted my wheel the morning I was supposed to make a 5 hour drive to ATL, I am new to town and had no idea where to go. These guys were so attentive from my phone call, to pulling up. They were fast, friendly, and fixed my wheel for FREE. I will def be coming here for all of my future needs.

It’s refreshing to find a car repair shop that really looks out for you the customer. This is that place. They care about their work and their clients and it shows. Coming from Chicago on vacation, my car needed some TLC. I read the reviews which are well deserved. Pat made sure to hear me out and make sure I’m not stranded when heading back home. The locals are lucky to have this jewel in their backyard. I highly recommend Geralds when your car is in need of repair. In all my years I’ve never had a shop that cared like these guys here. Best experience Ive ever had with car repairs and tire change, they are very very well priced, got me in the same day and I had a big list of repairs got it back for $400.00 less then I was expecting and a rose 🌹 in my car thanking me for letting them do the work!!! Could not be more satisfied! We were in town for our honey moon and got a flat. Holton saved the day and squeezed us in to get my tire repaired. Not only that, but this was waiting for us in the car! Above and beyond!

I dont do reviews or surveys, but this time Ill make an exception. After being told by another shop in my hometown of Aiken that my 05 Siennas alignment problem could only be corrected with hundreds of $s of sub-frame modification, the alignment tech at 1 Magnolia both explained and showed me why that was not necessary or even recommended, and what he did to get it even closer into specs - even though it was already within the recommended range (my choice and prior approval). He also IDd and corrected another small but potentially costly mistake from someones previous work on my steering rack - all for their standard wheel alignment service price. Theyve steered me clear of unnecessary repairs 3 times before, fixing only what was needed and authorized by me. For over 30 years when I lived in the Lowcountry, steadfast commitment to professionalism and long-term customer satisfaction never dropped off. Whenever possible, Ill make the trip back from Aiken where I am again for all of Geralds available auto services.

Arrived 15 min BEFORE they opened. I was 4th in line, and still ended up waiting 2 hours for a low tire pressure issue.

Fantastic service over the weekend traveling back to CT from FL. Brought our car in after our tire blew out on 17. They were quick and reasonably priced and above all, the staff could not be more genuinely courteous and helpful. Some added touches, they made sure our other tires were good to go and they left roses in the car for my wife and 2 daughters.Thank you Gerald’s!

I came in to get some much needed brake work and was so afraid that it was going to be so expensive. When they called me and told me how affordable it was,I was able to afford a new set of tires as well and they had my car ready within a few short hours. Very pleased with their professionalism.

I specifically chose this Geralds based on previous experiences that have been positive. Upon this visit, my total bill was $1080, they rang my credit bill for $1801. Thankfully I noticed this. However, apparently they cannot refund money without me returning back to the shop. Then I picked my car up after hours and noticed a severe shimmy on the way home when turning to the right. I discovered that they installed the back tire on the front which are staggered and was rubbing the front strut. Luckily, Im capable enough of swapping wheels instead of needing to make another 25 minute journey back to the shop again. Just the facts, you can determine whether the service is exceptional or not.

I was very pleased with the professionalism of all the staff I interacted with and price of the work that needed to be done. There is a reason this is where every local goes! They are very busy always, so plan to leave your car all day if you’ll be needing work. I was slightly bummed that they don’t leave a rose in the seat anymore, but hey, if that keeps the costs low for the customer, I’ll take the savings!

I have been going to Geralds since I was old enough to drive and Im 43 now. I had 3 tires replaced last Saturday, 2 front and 1 rear. When I pulled into Jiffy Lube to get my vehicle inspection done for a rideshare company, it took the mechanic 2 seconds to see that my front brakes were completely shot. I was a little concerned and confused why Geralds didnt see that and at least mention it. I hope Geralds isnt turning into a burn and turn company because the car was unsafe to drive. I dont think Im way off base to assume that would be something they should have noticed. I still believe Geralds is a great company but they missed the mark in my Opinion this time.

Arguably the best shop in town. No bs, to-the-point work, very reasonable pricing here. Mounted and balanced new rims on current tires.Plan on dropping your car/truck off if you want to avoid the wait time; youll wait 2+ hours anywhere else in town anyway, and this place is no exception when they get busy.

I have been a 30 year customer of Geralds Tire and Brakes and will not be going back. I experienced the WORST customer service over the past three days. I showed up on Saturday at 3:30 with a screw in a tire to be told they close at 4 and no one could look at it. They said I could come back Monday. On Monday I went back and left the car for 5 hours. At 430, I was called to say they could not fix the tire and one could be ordered. 5 hours before someone looked at the tire to say it could not be fixed and too late to order one. Had someone taken the time to look at it on Saturday instead of dismissing me, that could have all been different. Even had to wait 20 min to get to the counter to get my key. They use to provide great customer service, but they must have sold, cause that is no longer the case. Found someone in 20 min. to fix the problem that they could not do in 3 days.I have already told this story 5 times in the past day....the number of people I have sent to Geralds over the years is amazing, but no more. I will never be back in that door again.

Damaged my wheel and didnt own up to it. I had low profile tires mounted on my front wheels. While Ben, the kid behind the desk, and Brandon were nice and worked fast, it wasnt until I got home and went to wash my car that I noticed the damage. Firstly, you could tell they had problems mounting my tires because of all lubricant coated on my tires and wheels. It wouldve been nice if they at least wiped it off. Secondly, there is a huge gash in the lip of the wheel that was obviously caused by poor handling. When returning to the shop they quickly denied any wrong doing because our machine has a rubber cover on it. Thats great and all but what about the rest of the machine, they were throwing around wheels and tires like the place was on fire. It wouldve been real easy to damage the wheel just by banging it on the claws that hold it to the tire mounting machine. I trusted that Geralds would be able to properly mount my tires without issue. I was wrong and left with a company that tried to say I caused the issue. If you dont care about the condition of your wheels and how they may be returned to you, then go for it. Everyone else, stay away!

Every time I call looking for tire availability I’m put on hold with no end. People use this location because they are geographically forced to. Run from it! Try your hardest not to have to deal with these people. It’s not a great day at Geralds and all their advertising is false. Every local I’ve talked to has warned me about this and recommends other locations

Get customer service I had to get an oil change and they were able to squeeze me in even though they were pretty busy. I also got a quote on some tires, great prices great people. Ill definitely be back!

On 3/5/21 I had to come in for an emergency repair and one of which I did not know I needed at the time. When I got there originally all I thought i needed fixed was a wheel bearing, but it turned out I also needed ALL of my brake pads replaced as well. I thought it was going to cost a fortune but it turns out I was wrong. The guys who helps me out were extremely helpful and knew their stuff every well. The cost was nothing compared to what I thought it would have been. The two guys that helped me out were named Noel Vazquez and Alan (can’t remember his last name). Those guys take pride in their work and it really shows. I think that everyone should go to Geralds if they want their cars worked on the right way! Thanks again and keep up the remarkable work!

I had a tire fixed at Geralds Tires today and they have won my loyalty. Not only did they fix my tire but told me there was no charge and a nice young man handed me a rose. There was a card that thanked me for allowing them to service my car. It certainly brighten my day!

I went to the West Ashley location on a Saturday and Zach was very professional and special ordered my 2 of my car tires and told me to come bk on Monday. I went bk on Monday and he remembered my name(impressive)All the workers were nice and fast. I arrived ~445p and I was done around 530p. I think Mike is who checked me out. He was very nice and professional as well. I was very impressed with the service overall.

Highly recommend!Got a nail in a tire but the original shop that did the work was unavailable so I went to Geralds on the recommendation of a friend. Zack (the manager?) was very helpful and offered to fix for just $10. Unfortunately there was an issue with the tires bead (likely from the initial install, go figure!) and they were unable to fix. Instead I was able to order just 1 replacement to match the other 3. Install and balance was quick, and I will definitely return for future work!

Great job, great customer service!I live in VA, visiting the area for vacation. Nail in my tire, heard Geralds was the place to go. Not disappointed at all - to the contrary, very impressed. They quickly processed my request for repair, gave me their estimated time of repair (which they completed in half the time), and they charged me nothing for the service, plus gave my wife a rose as a first time customer. Treat someone right (particularly the first time) and you have a customer for life - These guys know what they are doing, in all aspects of their business. Fact is, they did a stellar job for me, and I will encourage anyone I know in the Charleston area to go to Geralds.

I put air in my front drivers tire several times over the past few weeks. Thinking it was the cooler weather. Today I took my car to Geralds. Hoping I need a plug. Nope new tires. I just moved here and asked someone for recommendations for a tire place for a slow leak. Geralds was the one I was told about. I went to the Magnolia location, got there early, before they opened. Other people were there, so I thought this place must be good for people to be waiting.What a great place! They are friendly and quick with their work. My wait was not long. I just went there today to have my tires replaced on my Jeep Wrangler and I love them! All of the guys there were super friendly and helpful, and provided me several recommendations to help me make my decision. I knew going into it that the wait time was probably going to be a little long, but everyone there was super communicative from ordering the tires, letting me know when they arrived, and upon completion of the work. I suggest arriving early because they get super busy, and having someone pick you up instead of sitting and waiting. Regardless, it is worth your time and money!

What can I say? Once youve been looked after by this business youll never go anywhere else!

WOW!!!! I cant say enough about Zach!! He is literally the BEST employee Geralds has. Do not let him go! I had 4 tires all go bad around the same time because they were each 5 years old. I thought when I purchased my car last year that I was given 4 new tires- so I was really shocked when they all went out around the same time. Zach was SO helpful, communicated really well and went above and beyond to help me! I even had a few choice words because I just couldnt believe the bad luck I had with my tires- but Zach thank God helped me out! Pulled into s.c. after a 12 hour drive form Florida on the way to Michigan pulling a 31 ‘ travel tralier with momma and baby and .....all of sudden I heard that dreaded noise! The brakes were grinding and I had 12 hours to go thru the mountains. Arrived at Gerald’s on a Saturday at 7:30 am praying they would helpMe. They said no problem , we’re gonna get you back on the road. Well, the brakes were rusted thru and the drum was fused to the axel - they had a mechanic work on this truck ALL day —--2 hours past the shop closing - then the manager took it for a ride (at 6 on a Saturday night ) and it wasn’t to his specs so NOEL, the mechanic and the assistant worked on it till they got it right for another hour....UNBELIEVABLE!!! THIS PLACE is like some holy shrine or somethin.......cause they make miracles happen !!!!

Unbelievable service. I took my car if because there was a slow tire leak. They took care of it in the time they said they would, and wound up just patching the tire. They didnt charge me a cent.There was a line around the door, and its because their service is second to none.Couldnt be happier, and I will return. Thanks guys!

Although they were VERY busy, the customer service was still great. Also, they gave me a realistic time frame on when my car would be ready to pick up. I felt their feedback on my tires was honest. Also, they found a nail in one of my tires that I wasn’t getting replaced so they went ahead & patched it for me at no charge. Will definitely come back.

Commercial says “ we know how to treat a lady”. .. they should add to that ... “ but only if we have time” Went in with low pressure issue in one tire ( the same tire I bought from theMt Pleasant store n January). We close at 4:00 - that’s the very brief response I received . I pointed out that it was 3:00 got a shoulder shrug “ won’t be today” . This was from Alan n the service bay when I was trying to park ... he also told me parking was 2 blocks away . Obviously Alan had plans Saturday afternoon & wanted to get out of there. Too much success breeds complacency!

I’ve had two different experiences at this location. Both times they were extremely professional and great communication. Always gave me several options and listened to my concerns. In the end, their main goal was to make sure I was satisfied with the service I received. Highly highly recommend this company and especially this location.

Worst tire shop I’ve ever visited. All I needed was a couple of used tires and an alignment. Guy said 3 or 4 hour wait. I said ‘cool, I can do that.’ Six hours later I’m still here waiting for the alignment guy to get to my vehicle. No Uber driver discounts. No excessive wait time discount. I noticed one guy checking out the contents of my vehicle as I was watching him change my tires. If there is a level of hell involving an endless loop of waiting for your vehicle at a tire shop, this would be the place the devil might use. Everybody raves about this place, but I am incredibly disappointed and all I want to do is leave.

West Ashley location.After recently replacing my rear brakes pads and rotors with a friend, I was having an issue with a vibration in my back wheels once the car had been driving around 20 minutes or so, which we felt like was the brakes engaging slightly by themselves, almost a bogging down or dragging sensation. The day I took it to Geralds, it got pretty bad, in the sense that the car hardly wanted to accelerate. I pulled over, turned it off and back on, and the car wouldnt move at all, the brakes were totally engaged. After letting it cool off for 15 minutes, it would drive again.Called Geralds and had it taken in for that, as well as a balance and rotation of my wheels while it was in there. Got a call around lunch time that the cause of my problems was contaminated brake fluid. I asked what it was contaminated with, and there was no answer, just that it was contaminated, and that the entire braking system would need to be replaced. To the tune of $2500. I passed on the service.After doing some more reading online, I decided before I got a second opinion, that I would give the brake fluid a good flush and replace with new fluid. Well, not only did they not rotate or balance any of the tires, THEY DIDNT EVEN PUT THE CAP BACK ON THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. So youre telling me that my fluid was contaminated and everything needs to be replaced, yet you left the cap off for whatever foreign elements and moisture (brake fluid absorbs moisture) to further contaminate the fluid?Long story short, after bleeding all of the brake lines of their nasty, nasty fluid, and replacing it with fresh fluid, I havent had a single problem with them a week later. Always had good experiences with them in the past, granted it was as simple as replacing a tire but I would never take my car to them for any mechanical diagnosis again.

Having your car break down and having to have it towed somewhere is always kind of a scary experience, but everyone that helped me at Geralds was not only professional, but very nice and understanding and patient. Holton was great!!!! I called multiple times because I was trying to coordinate when I could come back to get me car, and he was patient and listened every time I called. He went above and beyond! Holton is definitely an asset to Geralds and Geralds Tire is my go to for honest, professional service! Thank you Geralds!!!!

Geralds Tires was phenomenal. Every aspect of my experience was perfect; from my initial call a few days ago inquiring about the cost of my tires (which turned out to be custom, so they had to be ordered) to my actual experience at the store today. Everyone who helped me was professional, helpful, knowledgeable. They were so fast! I had all 4 tires replaced and barely got through my coffee. The price was exactly as quoted, which was excellent, compared to others. I love Geralds Tires! Will always go there.

Geralds was quick and easy with excellent customer service! They fixed my slow leak in less than 30 minutes so I was still able to all my errands finished!

Attempted Geralds twice. You cant make an appt. Its first come, first served. The second time I went I was there at 6:40 (almost an hour before opening). The line was around the building at 7:30, like it was an effing nightclub. They told me, without looking at the car, that it would be a 3-5 hr drop-off with their backlog. And thats being the first one in the door. So first come, first served is more of a weekly thing, not a daily thing. Brakes 4 Less opened at 8 and was 2.2 miles away. They looked at my car, reviewed the condition before starting the work, telling me I only needed pads on the front and fluid change. $269 and I was out in an hour and a half. So if you are full-time employed, with kids, running errands on the weekends or the end of the week, Geralds may not have the time for your business.

Honesty time: I do not like the commercials for Geralds Tires and Brakes. My wife always jokingly mock the commercials when were hear them on the radio or on the TV. But, that being said, I wont go anywhere else for tires. I always go here for tire repairs. Last time I took my car there to repair my tire, they took my car and had it fixed in about 20 minutes. When they called my name, they handed me the keys and said, Have a nice day! I asked what I needed to pay them and they said, Dont worry about it today. They repaired my tire for free!I have been there a few times before that because they are the fastest, friendliest service, and they are the only place I can find that sells used tires since I dont want to buy one brand new tire if the other 3 are already pretty used.Great place, Im sure Ill be there again if I ever have any more tire issues.Thanks guys!

We’ve always gone to Geralds in WA for our tire and brake needs, and today really proved why. We had just had our tires replaced and brakes serviced two weeks prior, and this afternoon our brake system light came on. I called Geralds frantic because my husband was supposed to drive to Columbia that evening. Holden, the service manager, told me to come on in. When I arrived, he immediately met me at my car, drove it into the shop and began reading the codes. Another employee, Joe, stepped in and worked under the hood. Five minutes later, after rechecking the lights to make sure it was fixed, he handed over the keys. All I had needed was brake fluid, and they took care of me right then and there. Very thankful for the attentive service and care the team has!! Would recommend these guys to anyone!

I heard great things about Gerald’s but didn’t have a reason to go until this morning when I left for work only to find the broken blade of a utility knife in one of my tires. I took the tire in to Gerald’s for a patch (removed it myself, thank you very much), only for them to inform me that my tread was EXTREMELY worn down and I would need my two rear tires replaced. They replaced the tire I brought in, then recommended I come back to have the other one replaced and the wheels re-aligned. I trusted them because I am a very trusting person, and they did not do me wrong. They fixed me up with two new tires and an alignment for a fair price and even checked to make sure the tire I replaced myself was done correctly (it was - I read the owners manual). Thank you for your excellent and speedy service!

Been going to Geralds for 16+ years since I moved here, never bought a tire from anywhere else. I will not be back to a Geralds again. Stopped in last week to have 1 tire replaced. They said it would be about 2 - 2.5 hours, which was fine and I said I would be waiting with the car.4.5 hours later I followed up for a 2nd time for an ETA. They said they did not have a tire in stock for me, and would not be able to get one in until the next day. This was quite frustrating to know that I spent the entire afternoon waiting and they just realized they could not help me.They offered to pickup a tire that evening and I could come back in the morning for the replacement and they would expedite getting me in.I arrive the next morning and was very pleased that they immediately started working on my car and got me taken care of. For a moment I felt the quick customer service made me feel better about my frustrating experience with the day prior.Until I got into my car and my tires registered back on the dash and noted that the brand new tire I just purchased did not have near enough air in it so the light came right back on for being under 30 psi.Thanks but no thanks. I will go elsewhere for future business and encourage others to do the same.

If there were 10stars theyd get it. No question, best operation in region. Everyone working there was top to bottom friendly and hard at work. Really impressed with their ability to work as a team at such a high efficiency. Theres nothing more you could want in a group of mechanics and service specialist, trust, reliability, professional and more than anything treating you like neighbors. Will always, recommend them and use them going forward to anyone with auto needs.

It was cutoff time@5:15, lot packed to capacity, he took time to change my nail riddled tire, so I was able to continue safely on my journey to N. I would never get tires anywhere else. Every time I go here everyone is very nice. They are super busy but do their best to get you in and out quick. They have repaired multiple tires for me. They are great to work with. I wish every business would work like this.

Very slow today. Although I was the forth person, they usually say who was here first but just anyone walk in the door out of order and then took the next person in line. Not cool. But the guys where extremely nice.

Took a few hours but only because these guys are great and bust there tails. Earned my business years ago and will continue to use them

Needed a new tire and they did not have it in stock. They ordered the tire for me. The new tire arrived exactly when they said it would and they installed it quickly for me

Had a boat trailer on side of road on James island, 2 of my tires on tandem trailer blew out valve stems. Stopped by local shops and they were too busy. Went to Geralds, explained situation and they immediately took the 10 minutes to repair tires, explained ( to me) why this happened to the tires and got me back on the road.I will only go to geralds tire from now on!!!!!! Saved the day for me and gained a lifetime customer from me, my family and friends.

Theyve changed. Did a quick stop as I have many times before to get a tread reading and was told (by a visual / no reading) that I need all four tires changed immediately. The back two tires are relatively new and the tread reading as per the dealer (more likely to try to sell me something) was 9. Sorry Geralds, I cant trust you anymore.

I recently located to Charleston, on my move here, my tire censors made me aware of a nail in my tire. Not know where to go, I looked to google and reviews to find a local repair shop. I stopped into Gerald’s on a Tuesday afternoon and with only a wait time of 45 minutes and the friendliest staff, had my tire plugged and an estimate for 2 replacement tires. The best part of this service was how extremely efficient the representatives were, and the level of professionalism I experienced. I will definitely be calling upon them to replace my tires in the near future. This was such a refreshing experience for someone new in town. Each customer also receives a rose in their case. Such an amazing touch!

Companies should be inherently apolitical, focused on doing their job and not campaigning. Clearly this isnt the case at Geralds. Sorry, taking my business elsewhere.

Went for a front end alignment on my F-150...After three more visits to have the front end checked after the initial visit the truck still pulls to the right!!Will have to go somewhere else to have the work properly done and spend more money out of pocket!!I am a lifelong resident of Chas. but I will be leary of doing business with them again!!!

Nice people but didnt even fill up my tire after tire change.

Best tire place ive ever been to. No doubt the best place to take your car in Charleston. Have been 3 times, and would give 5 stars for all 3 times. Very informative, very fair prices, very good all around. There is typically a long wait, but it is no doubt worth it if you just plan to drop your car off and get it later or the next day. Highly recommend to anyone in Charleston
