We recently had extensive engine repairs done on our Jeep Grand Cherokee engine at JD automotive repair and we were extremely pleased with the quality of work done by John the owner & chief mechanic. We compared rates between having the engine repairs done at the Jeep dealership and JD automotive. Using JD automotive was by far the best choice. The quality of work done and quality of service provided by John & Rachelare worth every dime you invest in keeping your vehicle running in tip top shape. We were plagued with one of the Jeep 3.6 L V6 Pentastar engines with the defective rocker arm issues which caused our cam lifters and cams to fail at a low mileage even after taking excellent service care of our Jeep. Chrysler or Jeep did nothing to assist in making the factory defect repairs but fortunately John knew exactly what was wrong with the engine as he has done several of these repairs on other Jeep Grand Cherokees with the same factory defect issues. The dude knows his business! We recently took a road trip fromPhoenix to Kansas City in our Grand Cherokee that John repaired and it ran like a brand new vehicle after he got done with it which was a great source of comfort when making a long road trip driving both day & night. John not only made the required repairs but wisely encouraged us to do some other routine service upgrades while he had the top of our engine torn down and their’s no doubt our Grand Cherokee will be running great for another 100,000 miles or better. Great service, wonderful people to do business with. The only shop I’ll be taking our rigs to when service or repairs are needed. 👍

A long overdue review.... Ive been going to JDs since 2018. Rachel and John have been SO SO good to me and my family. They have worked on our 2012 Fiat pop, 2004 Land Rover Discovery II (this was such a pain in the arse vehicle haha), and our current 2005 Ford Explorer. Every single time its a great experience. They are good and honest people. Dont go anywhere else! They take care of you like family. I cannot thank them enough for being so kind and good to us. They took me back to look at the issues I was having with my vehicles which is very awesome and further proves their integrity. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! We love you guys!

Don’t have enough good things to say about this place! You won’t find a more honest mechanic shop in the valley. My family has been using John’s services for years and will continue to do so for many more years. They are down to earth people who take pride in what they do. This is one of the few mechanics you can take your vehicle to and not feel like someone is taking advantage of your lack of mechanical knowledge. They will have your vehicle fixed in a timely manner and for a good price.

Superb service. They dropped a Jasper crate engine into a Hummer H3 with nearly a quarter million miles on it. The vehicle looked great, now it also performs great and purrs like it did on the dealer floor. They did an awesome job!

This is more than just an automotive repair place. They treat you like family and always give the fairest price in town. If its something so minor they might even do it for free like they did for me. Its so hard to find a mechanic that you can truly trust and here is where youll find that elusive trustworthy and reliable automotive repair shop. If you have not been a JDs you must go. We’ve been dealing with them for years and our whole family uses them, if you need a mechanic for a second opinion give him a call and stop on and you will be impressed with their thoroughness and eagerness to help. Our whole family highly recommends them.

Could not recommend this shop more! They tell you what really needs to be done on your car without pushing unnecessary work AND their pricing is super reasonable. Both of my cars are over 10 years old and theyve helped me to keep them running and running. On top of that, John and Rachel are so nice! Been a customer for years, referred family and friends and 100% amazing results.The biggest part is the ethics they have. Repairs quoted at other shops were much higher. I will never take my vehicle to anyone but this shop. They’ve helped me with minor stuff such as my oil changes, to advanced stuff such as replacing my clutch. The prices have always been extremely reasonable and the work they perform is some of the best out there. Thanks guys!

Best automotive shop around!!!!Trust worthy mechanics!!!!I have been here several times and every time they quote me below what I get quoted and automotive chains around the valley. Plus they finish the job when they say they will. They staff is friendly and is great at communicating with you about all the things going on with your vehicle. Do not hesitate going to them. I found out about them from several friends. Not a bad word about them. If you are looking honest, affordable, quality craftsmanship then this is your place.

These fabulous people should be wearing capes! I was stranded and they got me towed and running in hours. The price was very reasonable, and they have a customer for life!

Growing up the daughter of a mechanic, I’ve had a hard time finding a mechanic in Arizona that I trust as much as my Dad. That all changed when I was referred to John and Rachel at JD Automotive.They took time to explain everything to me and provide me with all options available and ultimately replaced my transmission. But, they didn’t stop there, John went above and beyond when he noticed one of my tail lights out and replaced it for me FREE of charge. It’s the little things that make the experience! Just moved to the area from out of state. Had purchased an all new A.C. compressor and lines. 1 week later (and after I moved here) it broke. Work was done in CA.Had a warranty and took my car here for repairs. Rachel at the front desk was always nice. She kept me up to date with the issue and timeline for repairs. Got my car back and it works GREAT. They even asked me to return a week later so they could double check their work. A+I recommend this shop to everybody. This will be my go to place for car repairs!

Were so grateful to JD and Rachel for their honesty and going above and beyond their call of duty. We brought our daughters car in for what ended up being a transmission problem. They did some research for us on the problem and made some phone calls to find out that it was still covered under warranty. Rachel didnt have to do this but she did which saved us thousands of dollars. They have a customer for life and we will be bringing all of our vehicles to them because I know they are trustworthy and honest with reasonable prices.

There’s too many words to even begin to describe the professionalism and genuine care that they provide. For me John, the owner, was a lifesaver. I like to modify my car but got a little carried away and ended up cross-threading a bolt in a really tight spot. I took my car to two other guys, one of which specialized in only Honda’s and Acura’s. Both of them looked at my engine and called it “complicated” and they didn’t want to touch it nor did they want to help and even if they did they wanted to remove the entire engine (10-12 hours job at 140 an hour). I have very high anxiety so hearing this and possibly not being able to fix my car was very, mentally hard to deal with. Then i went to JD automotive and John took one look at my engine and knew how to fix it. This guy knowsHis way around an engine and was able to fix my issue with ease. I honestly don’t really know how he did it, i thought it was going to be more complicated but he got it done and I honestly can’t thank him enough. JD automotive will forever be my mechanic shop after this.

I went to this shop under the old ownership and John always did great work on my Toyotas. Now he owns the shop and things are even better. They answer the phone quickly, make appointments, follow through on them, and even arrange for rides.When I dropped off my truck on a Monday for repairs, John asked me when I needed it. I told him Friday. Monday afternoon, Rachael called and said they had a cancellation so it was ready for me to pick up.I had prior experience with these folks, but when someone takes advantage of an opening and gets me back on the road 4 days EARLY, I am truly impressed. Highly recommended.

John started taking care of our Jeep Wrangler and GLK. He saved us a lot with the cost of maintaining our GLK, a great job replacing the brakes, I would say better than the results we got from a dealership previously. Great place! This place used to be Thieles Automotive. It is under new ownership by the same honest, trustworthy and caring guy that did most of the work when it was Thieles. He and his wife are the sweetest and most dependable people and thats hard to find these days! Its a good feeling when you can send your children there with any issues dealing with their cars and know they will take care of them like their own. Make sure not to be mistaken by some other business calling themselves Thieles. JD Automotive is where you want to be and know you will be taken care of the right way.
