I lived here for two years. They really went above and beyond to make you feel at home. The staff at the office were all friendly and courteous, and whenever we had issues, they were prompt about maintenance. My only complaint would be the surrounding neighborhood around the apartments isnt really the best. But, since Westgate is a gated community, and I always felt safe and comfortable on the apartment properties. The price is very reasonable, and its a short drive to a lot of shopping. Id definitely recommend living here, its been a good place to call home.

This was a great first apartment! My fiancé and I lived here for 2 years in a one bedroom. Every single problem our apartment had maintenence was right on top of it. The staff were all super friendly and anytime we needed help they were right there to help us. We are moving because we need a bigger apartment but we are super thankful for everything this place had to offer 😊

We have drainage problem in our kitchen and the staff fix it so quickly, and explained to us what cause a problem, great staff great and responsive

Horrible experience. Booked a showing for a home a week in advance. Waited 30 minutes after the scheduled time and NO ONE showed up. Called the leasing agency only to find out someone else had applied for the house and we’re most likely going to get it. They would have never contacted me and just left me sitting outside their property had I not called. Do not lease with this agency.

I like living at Westgate - the staff is awesome and the price is super affordable. Same day maintenance and monthly pest control. No two apartments look the same, IMO.I feel safe within the community, but it is surrounded by some pretty sketchy areas.

My husband and I have really enjoyed living here. Even though Im a U of I student, we risked being further away from campus to get more value for our rent money, and have not regretted it. Having the Brown bus stop right across the street has been perfect. Kelly and everyone in the office are very friendly and hardworking. The staff recognize us when we drive in and make us feel like family, not just tenants. Our apartment is large and was clean when we moved in. We have not had any problems with bugs. Our maintenance requests are few, but very quickly responded too. Despite this being the bad part of town, the complex is so large it feels like its own separate neighborhood, and it is gated and protected 24/7. No problems with noise, neighbors, or crime. Ive even accidentally left my purse in my car unlocked overnight and no one touched it. Weve received several upgrades to the apartment since we moved in, and its easy to see that the landlord/management company has a commitment to keeping things updated, working, and keeping residents comfortable. Someday, of course, wed like to own a house, but I dont think Id ever want to rent anywhere else.

I have lived in a lot of apartment complexes over the span of my lifetime. This apartment complex was by far the best one that I have ever lived in. This is due in large part to the owners and management. The level of care and consideration for each resident is exemplary. I did not feel like I was just my apartment number, ever. The only reason that I had to leave was because I needed more space and bought a house. I would strongly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for an affordable place to live.

I lived at westgate for 4 years. In the past 2 I have being in many personal problems one after the other, the hardest time of my life, and the whole staff always was very comprehensive, nice and helpful about everything. I indicated this place to multiple friends from which many moved and many more are moving in in July/August. All I have to say are good things. They fix problems quickly and never had any issue. If you are moving to Champaign/Urbana area, this is the BEST place you will find, I guarantee. And price is good also. Thank you all for the past 4 years. I couldnt have asked for anything better.

Ive been at westgate for 4 years, it was a great place to live specialy for security, maintenance and the office staff was absolutely amazing. My reason for leaving was to move in Charlotte NC

Best have perfect credit so stupid no one around here takes bad credit or low income never been evicted from a house but they dont look at that

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE!!!!!! Before you move in, they make it seem like this nice little helpless apartment. When you move it, theres a weird smell in the air that hits you right in the face when you walk in. Not just my building, but other buildings within the gated community as well. All of the apartments have installed automatic humidity controllers that will turn on automatically (even when the humidity level is not nearly high) and run all day!!! Running up your electricity utility bill off the charts!! The main staff at the gate who has been working there for over 10 years, is very rude and refuses to build a friendly neighborly relationship with WestGate tenants. They have an awful bug problem of these little water bugs that look very similar to roaches. During me and my roommates 6th month stay, we called reported over 10 incidents of seeing these bugs throughout the house. And when I spoke with neighbors in the buildings down, they were experiencing the same problem. Westgate offers extermination once every 2 weeks but they do absolutely no justice. The exterminator guy just comes in and sprays a few times with no effort of actually killing the bugs at all. And when confronted about this, westgate staff insisted that it would stop and it never did. Nevertheless, me and my roommate moved out after our 6 month lease and into another apartment on campus. There are rooms/apartments available on University of Illinois campus for the same price, furnished, and in much better condition than westgate apartments. Overall, the stay was awful.

They say you have the place making you pay for the application fee then tell you you dont make enough a month even though my income at the time was 5 times the rent. Funny how these snobs lie to you just to get your money.
