Just dont go there. Thats my best advice. Over the year or so, Ive been to this location for 4-5 times. Every time I went there, they came up with every little excuses to overcharge me. They charged me $10 for having a European car - thats unheard of from various shops I have been to. One time, there was just one car in front of me, and it took me total of one hour and 30 minutes to get my oil change done - despite their claim that I should be in and out in no more than 15 minutes according to their company ad. Every time I went there, I saw new faces. It was pretty clear to me that most of staffs didnt know much about cars. They were just trying to find any excuses to jack up the price. Please, do yourself a favor and dont go there. Youll save a lot of times and money.

Requested a synthetic oil change and thats how the invoice was prepared. When the cashier began to process the payment he asked the tech what kind of oil was used and he replied conventional. UNBELIEVABLE!!! This was after I had already restarted the engine. I insisted that the drain the conventional oil and refill with synthetic as I originally requested and the did. The manager in charge offered me 20% off the service but I told him that meant nothing to me since I already had a 20% off coupon. This didnt register with him that needed to offer me something more. Been going to this location for years without issue but the crew and operation was just awful today. I will be looking for a new place for oil changes. Terrible experience and terrible customer service!

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE EVER LEFT A NEGATIVE REVIEW.EVER!Hands down one of the worst experiences. I needed to get my oil changed and did not have a lot of time as my sister was in town and we were dealing with our deceased mothers storage unit so we could finally close out this awful year of processing. In the mist of all of this. After leaving I noticed my vehicles temperature was rising. Thank God my sister new to turn on the heat on a 95 degree day. Turns out after going to the dealership to fix there was an issue with the cooling fan due to crossed wiring. After speaking with the service manager at my dealership who has convinced me to never go anywhere else again the manager of Valvoline Ahmed claimed that they were not at fault and that the service manager did not say it was due to valvolines neglect which it clearly was. After one of my jobs got blown out that cost me several thousand in commission due to not having my work truck available I esculated the matter. The area manager finally agreed that Valvoline was at fault after being incredibly rude and threatening a lawsuit because I refused to return there 1 diagnostic tool that they had somehow left in my truck. She had the nerve to tell me I took the device and they would press charges until returned. THEY LEFT IT. Naturally I refused to do this until the matter was resolved and they paid for the damage they created. Telling me thats not how you do business. Excuse me but not taking responsibility and costing me thousands of dollars and a week of constant stress and trips to valvoline and the dealership is NOT HOW YOU DO BUSINESS. I strongly encourage anyone reading this to not go to this joke of a business and deal with actual professionals that know what they are doing and not some kids that are only going to deny responsibility if things go south. I think the fact that they left the diagnostic device in my truck is proof of their complete incompetence. I asked the service manager at the dealership if they have ever heard of this happening and his response was simply NEVER. Save yourself a headache and go anywhere else. They didnt even offer to pay for the original cost of the groupon or the difference I still had to pay them. What a joke.

I went to this place about 2 weeks ago and got my oil changed. I’m a young female who doesn’t know much about cars and they picked up on that very quickly. They told me in addition to my oil change I needed two filters and my fuel pump replaced. I believed them and got one filter replaced (the other filter wasn’t in stock that day) and they told me I needed to go to another shop to get my fuel pump changed because they don’t do that there. So basically I bought the fuel pump and the air filter on my own from online and a store. I went to an entirely different mechanic shop to get these things changed and they informed me that my fuel pump and air filter were fine and I didn’t need to change them. They actually told me that my cars fuel pump was good and should never have to be changed unless my car is high mileage. I have a 2016 Honda Civic with 50,000 miles on it so I definitely didn’t fit the high millage bracket. I plan to keep my air filter until the next service for my car but this shop tricked me and tried to pull a fast one on me. They tried to get me to come back for my air filter to be changed (which it didn’t need to be changed) and I assume they would’ve sent me to the mechanic shop next door to change my fuel pump. It almost cost me $250 minimum to change my fuel pump. I’m a 22 year old college student who is living paycheck to paycheck and they really tried to rip me off. This place is despicable and i advise everyone to stay away. They just want your money. Thankfully I can return the fuel pump and get my money back but I just can’t believe they would take advantage of a customer like that. Makes me wonder how many other people they have scammed. That’s the tea.

When it comes to finding a new business, I always look at the low-rated reviews first, because, with those reviews, you can really set your expectations. After reading them, I worried about visiting them since a car is one of the biggest investments you have.But they exceeded my expectations. Fast, Convenient, Professional and Friendly. Use the Groupons to save money but do expect to pay something extra depending on the car you have and what they find during the maintenance check. But of course, you make the decisions, not Valvoline. Keep reading…For example, my car takes a little more than 5 qts, so the extra charge was like $2. They also recommend me an engine flush and filter replacement but they were not pushy about trying to sell me those things. Yes, the price went up very quickly, but I did it anyway since I’ve never done it with my car and the price was still cheaper than the dealership service which is always expensive in my opinion.With everything, total time it took was about 30 mins, which was very fast compared to 1-2 hour dealership service I used to get. Instead of spacing out with your phone at a dealership waiting room, you stay in your car doing your own thing while watching the work being done to your vehicle.It was very impressive to see everyone working as a team and I’ll definitely be back next time as they’re just around the corner from where I live. Keep up the good work!

I recommend you to never go to this place again... they charged me for an oil change.. but didnt actually worth it , they says Full Synthetic and he posted the sticker I saw it’s for conventional Oil it’s just for 3k miles, But they charged me too much, on top of that they said we checked your tires air pressure but they did not still I see the Tire alarm notification in my car screen .NOT go for oil change there , Expensive but wrong Oil . I went to Valvoline the other day to have my oil changed and during the process I was told that the last person to replace my oil did not change the gasket and that it had melted on to the drain plug. After reviewing my history, it was clear that the three most recent shops I had gone to were other Valvoline locations (this is visible within their computer system). I expressed frustration that I would now have to pay the additional $15 for the plug and gasket replacement when it was due to the negligence of one of Valvoline’s sister stores. When expressing this frustration, it was brushed aside and I was told that they couldn’t do anything to help me because it was not at their location and they are a smaller store. To me it seems like a no brainer to “save face” in the name of the company and waive the charges in order to keep a costumer coming. After all was said and done I ended up spending $102.98 (excluding taxes AND with a $15 discount coupon) for the oil change and replacement plug, alone.

I took my dads truck there for an oil change. They had cars being worked on in each bay and I only had to wait about 10 minutes. They were very knowledgeable and courteous. I had never been to an oil change shop like this one where you can stay in your car. The staff worked very well together and communicated well to get the job done fast. My go to place for quick oil changes and minor maintenance. They check your fluid levels and filters and recommend additional services but never pressure you. They will top off coolants and washer fluids for free during your oil change. Ive never had a bad service here. Always professional and courteous.

Would not recommend this place VALVOLINE IN CENTREVILLE, VA! I Had an EXTREMELY BAD experience!! Very irresponsible and has bad customer service. They kept blaming the brand for the issue and mistake. I went to get my oil change and was told that the dipstick is broken. I went to my car dealer and they noticed the issue and how serious it was very quickly. They also told me that a) the dipstick issue is not the only issue B) THERE IS A MORE SERIOUS ISSUE...there is a hole inside the dipstick tube! The repair price exceeds $1000! Can you believe this!? I have been getting oil changes and driving a car for more than 30 years and NEVER experienced something like this!

Customer service is excellent and the employees are very polite.I also appreciate the honesty of the mechanics. During an oil change, the mechanic informed me that my serpentine belt needed to be replaced but did not push the sale. For their honesty I returned to have them do the repair later. Even though they didnt have the part they were able to get it within 20 minutes and also correctly diagnosed a different, on-and-off problem with my check engine light that had been happening for at least a year.My only complaint is that its not that cheap, especially for an oil change. But they do a good job so I think its worth it.

Now - my car is overheating, the heat doesnt work - and theyre doing NOTHING to take care of me. JUST AWFUL!Heres the full story:It took 45 minutes to complete all the work. When the car was done I pulled away and headed up the street to get a car wash less than 2 miles away (right next to the Jiffy Lube).By the time I pulled out of the car wash the car was overheating. This was not happening before I took the car in... Not good.I went to open the glove box to get the phone number off the receipt and all my stuff dumped onto the floor. Apparently they had forgotten to replace the clips when they replaced the cabin air filter. Seems like attention to detail is NOT their strong suit - NOT GOOD for an Automotive Service Station.Needless to say - my blood, along with the coolant in my engine, was boiling...I drove back to the shop, was offered a ride home and assured by at least 2 employees that this would all be resolved the next day. No question. OK - thats better... Still not happy this happened, but if theyre going to make it right, Im cool. They had an opportunity to earn my business for life - its really hard to find a reliable, trustworthy shop to service your car.Well - then I got a call from Lawson the next morning and - after several discussions - I was eventually told that there was nothing they could do and that Id have to take the car somewhere else to have it fixed. No refund, no offer to pay for repairs. Apparently, the car overheating after having the coolant system flushed was just a big coincidence... Hmm... SOUND FISHY TO YOU??? Me too.I really hate giving bad reviews - but this pushed me over the edge. Totally unacceptable. I called the national customer service number and opened a claim, but this is a franchise location so Im not holding my breath.Id love to hear from the area manager and see them make this right - I know its not their intention to damage customer vehicles - mistakes happen. Thats human. Whats NOT cool is leaving your customer out in the cold when those mistakes happen. Own up - make it right. Its NOT hard. I wouldve much preferred to leave a 5 star review about how they did the right thing.... sadly - they didnt... and now Im out even MORE money to get my car fixed somewhere else...Save yourself the drama - AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!***UPDATE*** (still 1 star)Ive spoken with Paul (the Area Manager) and a couple folks from Valvoline Customer Care. This location try to change more parts than required .A total ripping in the name of instant oil change . Staff do not agree to any of service complaints after payment is done.. Beware.... recommend services that arent needed. Wife took the car in for a basic oil change and they told her that the wipers needed to be replaced to pass inspection (wipers were brand new). Also, not being an inspection station, Im not sure how they are authorized to make that call.

I went to get an oil change and left with problems. The car started sounding funny and was running rough, almost as if it didnt want to run. I took it back an hour later after running it a little more in order for the car to you know get used to the oil but the problem persisted. So I went back told them about the problem and thought they would fix it. They didnt instead they told me that it was a filter valve or something that was leaking air, so they put a clamp on it so that no air could get out. I kept telling them that I thought it might be the oil they put into my car and if they could possibly do another oil change just incase it was. They said no and told me that the oil wouldnt effect the sound or running of the engine. Thinking the problem was resolved I took it for another spin to see if the sound was still there. It was. Sadly I had to go back yet again. I insisted yet again that it might be the oil and told them to do another oil change. BUT they insisted that the problem wasnt the oil but the air filter which by the way they changed. Then finally they changed my oil again and the problem was resolved. The next problem I had, had to do with the air filter sounding very weird. Not wanting to go back to the shop yet again. I found a auto shop in manassas (same company different shop) that said theyd see and make sure everything was in order for free. They fixed my car and left me very happy. They deserve a 10 star rating and sadly this shop deserves less than 0. If you dont want your car messed up dont go to this shop.

I actually really like this place and the service and customer service they provide. I love how you dont have to get out of your car for an oil change. HOWEVER I am sad to hear from my dealership that my last oil change at this valvoline location might be the reason my cars engine light is on. I have. 2015 sedan with only 29,000 miles on it and was told that my last oil change might have been done wrong. That valvoline might have used the wrong oil filter size causing my vehicle to act strange. Im currently at the Hyundai dealership where they are attempting to doing another oil change themselves to see if it will fix the issue with my car. I will provide an update with the results, if it is not valvolinea fault I give this place 5 stars, but if it is valvolinea fault I will be dropping down a star and contacting valvoline corporate.
