Great experience, family owned shop and prices were reasonable. Frank the owner spent well over an hour with me on my boot fitting. Taught me a ton about the process and insisted if something doesnt fit come back and theyd fix it for free. They do a 1 year fit guarantee and actually expect you to use it. They had a nice selection of boots, and although I wasnt in the market carried a good selection of skis and bindings as well. Highly recommended I will certainly be referring others there as well.

Daily rentals where you can pick up the day before and drop off next morning (before 1pm) so you get the whole day with your rental! Locally owned I believe and great speedy service. Will definitely go back for any winter sport needs! Great selection of smartwool socks so I may pick some up next time! Fantastic local spot if you live around.

I love this place!!! I ski 2-3 times a year, so it makes sense for me to rent instead of buy. The people at Eskimo are so friendly and helpful, they have great products, and their prices are great, especially for a 1 day rental! They really know what theyre talking about. Also, if you rent you dont have to bring your skis back until 1 pm the NEXT day (say you rent all Friday, you bring them back by 1 pm Saturday) which is really nice so you dont have to rush down the mountain to get your skis back on time. Overall a great local shop, would definitely recommend. If youve been before, you can also just call in and request to rent the same as last time so you dont even have to wait in line! Love this place. Thanks Eskimo :)

Awesome tune. My skis probably haven’t been tuned in 2 years (kept thinking I’d get new ones) $60 and they felt like new (a little weld, ptex, etc). If youre like me and dont know what exactly you need to hit the slopes, go to Eskimo Ski Shop and ask for Frank! Hes as good as it gets.I came in to get fitted for some new ski boots before the season starts and walked out knowing I had exactly the pair I needed. Frank took about 15 minutes to assess my feet with a very thorough step by step evaluation. After he was done he explained exactly how my feet were going to interface in a pair of boots, including the fact that my feet were not exactly the same from left to right. His knowledge and confidence assured me that I was in the right place.I tried on about 5 pairs of boots before we landed on the ones that fit my feet like a glove. He gave me advice on what to look out for when I was on the slopes and told me to come back after a few trips so he could reassess and make any adjustments to the boots that I needed, all free with my purchase. Their level of service at Eskimo is second to none. All in all the experience was a 6 out of 5, as they really went above and beyond. Anyone looking to find that glove-like fit should come in and spend a half hour with Frank. Totally worth every penny!

I went in the evening of 11/28/18. I went downstairs looking for used snowboard boots for my son. Not a soul asked if I needed help. So I went upstairs and spoke with a more senior, seasoned woman behind the counter. I told her I was looking for used boots for my son who wears the same shoe size as me. She told me he needs to come in and explained how boots fit. Thanks lady, Ive been riding for 20 years. So giving up on her actually showing me any boots, I asked her if they sold used ski boots for my daughter. Again, it was apparent she was in no mood to help me look at any boots. When I explained I was looking for a good deal on ski boots, her response was, well, its an expensive sport. Really? Thats your answer to a consumer trying to find decent value on some used ski boots for my daughter? I thanked the lady and walked out. Needless to say I wont be returning and will not recommend this place to any of my riding community.

This is coming from a former Junior Olympic ski racer, who converted to freestyle; a 30 year veteran of the Vail Ski School, who coached freestyle for 20 years and skied for the Vail Demonstration Team for 10 years; also skied for Warren Miller. I am a gear snob and am very persnickety about the tune on my boards. There were very few people I trusted to tune my skis. Before I would let a shops techs touch my skis, I would literally interrogate them until I was sure they knew what they were doing, and before I discovered the Eskimo Shop, I stopped in at some of the larger sports stores that also sell ski gear. I would ask their techs if they could put a 1 degree bevel on the base and sides, and their heads would tilt to the sides like my dogs does when I ask her why she ate my socks again. A bad tune can make you hate your skis and lead to a skiing or boarding experience which is unpleasant and even dangerous. A really bad tune can destroy good equipment. At the Eskimo, they put a 1 degree bevel on the base and sides on all the skis they tune unless you ask for something different. Its pretty novel to be able to walk in and ask for a shop tune, and know that your skis are going to come back perfect. Frank and his crew know what they are doing, their prices are reasonable and their service is great. Mom and pop ski shops are what made the ski industry and now they are a dying breed. The Eskimo is a standout and proves year after year that boutique beats Big Box. Just thought Id post this before I head over to the Eskimo to get my skis tuned :-) Shred

This is a true mom and pop shop in Denver! Its hard to find family owned and operated stores around but Eskimo reminds me why we need to shop less chains and more locally owned stores. My wife and I bought our ski boots here and it was an excellent experience! Frank, the owner, spent 60 minutes helping us figure out the right boot for us. Originally we planned to get fitted and then buy last years model online, but Franks attention to detail and excellent customer service won us over. For the past three seasons Ive been taking all of our gear for repair and have been happy with the results! And if you are looking for rentals for skis/boards/snowshoes they have it all! Day or season rentals with some of the lowest prices in town. If you need any help with your winter gear or are looking for replacements stop by Eskimo ski shop and you wont be disappointed.

Been loving this shop since ‘04 but today had a rather unfortunate incident with the owners wife. (Disclaimer: Not the First time)Tried to purchase a snowboard I demo’d today and she absolutely stonewalled me with rigidity in her position. The board was overdue, had to be checked in today and if I wanted to purchase, I had to wait until the end of the season. With that said, she literally grabbed the board from me and started to take it in the back.I said listen, I don’t want to make a scene but that board is sentimental to me now because it was involved in a Heli skiing helicopter crash I was apart of. In a stone faced manner, I hope you’re OK, she says but you are creating a scene and again, if you want the board you can buy it at the end of the season.Stormed out in disbelief over the blatant disregard for any semblance of customer service. A shop hand flags me down in the parking lot to say there was a mix up and that board is actually for sale. So in the end, I got to buy the board but felt scarred by the whole incident. Very uncomfortable.Been in retail myself for close to 30 years and anyone else in retail knows that this is a text book example of what not to do.I’ve got rentals through this place, I’ll happily return those at the end of the season. After that, might need to start shopping for another ski shop.Sorry to say this Frank but your business may be better off without your wife.Sincerely,Damon A. Miller

Staff intentionally lied to me so I was forced to buy new equipment. After confirming that the shop could remount my bindings on my skis for a quoted price of $40 I dropped off my skis with the promise that they would be ready the next day. Later that day the shop called and said they couldnt remount them and that the only bindings they could put on them is a new set of bindings for $225. The shop knew that I needed them the next day so it really put me in a bind, forcing me to purchase the new bindings. Didnt expect that sort of experience from a smaller shop, needless to say I wont be returning and will inform all of the families we ski with about this experience.

I have never had such a good experience at a business that I felt the need to go online and write a review. Eskimo changed that. I went there to try on some 686 New Balance snowboard boots (the only shop in Denver that has them) and ended up buying some Union bindings too. I worked with Mike, and he was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to show me all the features of the boots and bindings and make sure I got a combo that would work well together. I found my home shop now and Ill be headed back soon for a tune up, even though its an hour away from me. Places like this are truly hard to find, with genuine people who arent trying to force gear down your throat but rather spend the time to make sure youre happy and have what you need to shred the mountain. When I got to talk to someone, they could not tell me whether or not they could specifically work on my brand of boot liners and actually asked do you want that done while you wait? I am not sure how you can have a custom molding done without your foot in the boot… so that was kind of useless question. Then I asked about how long they would take to tune my board. I never mentioned being in a hurry, I simply wanted some information, but they snapped quite rudely, theres no way we can have it by tomorrow, and then placed me back on hold. I hung up at that point because they were clearly too busy and/or too ignorant to answer my questions.
