Back in late 2018 I Tried signing up for Dish online at first, but I would get a No credit at this address error every time, So I call Big dog Satellite to tell the Customer Service rep what was going on. She looked up My info and basically told me the same thing, but did Not know at the time that you had to notify companies that you changed addresses in order to qualify for credit for some services and such. I Wish I knew that earlier, because Now it seems She Did NOT know what the hell she is doing, so I got DirecTV from another local company and I qualified for credit just fine and got signed up and running in No time.

Great internet given that its a fibre connection split into apartments in a building. The service representative, however, is very rude and unprofessional. The internet went out on its own last night so I called in the morning letting them know, she checks and says that my connection is active. Its most certainly not, but she insists though. She offers to send a service representative but they charge the customer for it?! Never had that happen with mediacom or centurylink. Anywho she insists thats its my router that is bad but l am an IT professional, I can trace the connection and see that their modem isnt receiving a coaxial signal. Not her fault, but why insist on something youre not 100% sure of and talk down to customers

I called Big Dog January 22, 2018 because my satellite was out. They were able to come out the same day even though I live in Waterloo and their office is in Cedar Rapids. I was very happy with the service.My technicians name was Jordan and he provided exceptional service. He was able to troubleshoot the problem quickly, and had the problem resolved in a short time. Actually, my review of Big Dog Satellite is 4 stars. Ive dealt with the them as a customer for both Direct TV and now Dish Network. Their service has always been outstanding.My one star rating is for Dish Network and they way they handles rolling out partnership with Google Assistant. Basically, If you do not want to link your TVs to Google Assistant you lose your ability to do a voice search through your remote.I will be leaving Dish if this is not corrected by end of year. One star because 0 stars is not an option.

We had a great experience at Big Dog! We moved to this area a few months ago and needed some help reviewing our services and lowering our bill. Janice and her coworker did both. We are saving 30-40 dollars a month. Most importantly, we do not have to call the 800 number for Dish anymore. We call them for our needs and talk to a live person, not automation.Thank you Big Dog! I went to Big Dog because I wanted to talk in person instead of over the phone with someone. I also wanted to deal with a local business. Jeff and his co-worker were very knowledgeable & made the process very easy to understand. I had questions that they took the time to answer without rushing me through & hurrying me out the door. I was able to set up new service during my lunch hour & be back to work all in about 20 minutes!

Big Dog is fabulous! When others told us we couldnt even have satellite TV because of our location, Big Dog made it happen. Whenever any kind of an issue comes up, they are always able to address and fix the problem. Added to that, they do it in a timely fashion! We run a bed and breakfast and Big Dog has seen to it that our guests have never had to go without the amenity of satellite TV. They have never let us down, we recommend their service without reservation. Theyre the best!

Dish Network is absolutely useless. Goes out during any type of rain. Light or heavy.You dont get all the channelsyou paid for. Cant wait til my contract ends. Will definitely go back to Mediacom. Never had any problems with them.Just expensive . You get what you pay for !!!!!

Michael Cardis, Cedar Rapids, IA: Big Dog Satellite has to be one of the most professional businesses I have ever worked with. I had problems last Saturday with my remote so I came down to the Big Dog in Cedar Rapids and Marty set me up with the newest remote and even sat and helped me learn how to use it. Marty was so incredibly patient and kind, very professional, even when I didnt understand since Im not all that great with the tech stuff. Id recommend Big Dog to anyone and am going to!

Update after 40 hours with no internet finally someone answered. Said couldnt come for anoither 24 hours and wanted me to pay them to come reset my brand new router. When i told them it wasnt a router problem as i was hung up on 10 times. They threatened to call the police on me for calling....... im a customer and they threten to call the poice on me for calling for services .......... sad company do not do buisness with them.No internet for almost 16 hours now. No answer from calling you on hold for 30 min. 3 times. I realize its a holiday but yesterday wasnt and my internet has been out for almost a full day. Im assuming as no one is ging to be fixing this this issue for awhile as no one will even answer phones. You shouldnt just not care about your customers... You are a service provider this should not be happening..

I was a little upset when my property manager told me I had to go through a certain company to get my DirecTV set up! I like to have options. I have to say this was a great experience. The customer service was excellent when I called in asking for prices, they seemed to know about my property and what I needed to get hooked up there. When they came out to set up the service the guy who did it was great and explained my new system and hooked me into the one dish that is for everybody. After he left I had an issue with the remote and called the office and they walked me through the issue right over the phone. This was a great experience start to finish!!

I was promised that my bill would be locked in for 2 years at $100 a month. 6 months later my bill has jumped up to almost $200. They over promise and under deliver. The other satellite provider isnt much better.Im definitely disappointed. I had to remove a bunch of channels to keep my bill low.

Well I am not sure why folks are writing poor reviews for Big Dog when its clearly a Century Link issue.I have Century Link as well and while I agree its frustrating, BIG DOG provided great service when we signed up. My husband and I went in with some questions initially about switching providers as we were done with Mediacom. They took the time to explain the differences and what Century link could provide us both as far as speed and pricing. That was 3 years ago and we have been super happy.Big Dog is on top of it when it comes to knowing their products they are AUTHORIZED RETAILERS for and will help you weigh out which services and providers will work best for your needs!I agree Century Link has raised their prices, but contact Century Links loyalty department and talk to them about your concerns- thats what we did and they were able to address our concerns. Its sad to see a good company get bad reviews about stuff that isnt in their control.Great job Big Dog Sattellite! Good company!

Guys in Waterloo were great on the phone helping me set up what I needed when DirectTV failed to help me when I called their own 800 number. Glad i went through Big Dog, especially because they were able to install the dish on our metal roof (unlike corporate DirectTV). However, the tech cane from Cedar Rapids and he was 3 hours late to the set appointment time. Never called to let me know; I had to call to find out where he was.

I wouldn’t even rate them one star. They sent out a mass email with my personal email in it to 30 others whose emails were visible too. I tried getting ahold of the supervisor for about a month and finally got ahold of her just for her to be mouthy with me. Yea it’s a $7 fee but you gave out my email to people telling them my card was either declined or expired. If I didn’t have to go through them for my cable I wouldn’t.

We recently cancelled our Mediacom service and decided to go with Dish network via Big Dog. Big Dog was very helpful giving us information about both Dish and Direct TV so we could choose what would work best for us, so our initial experience was positive. We scheduled a 10am service call for them to come out a couple days later and get the everything set up. 10am rolled by, so we called Big Dog at 10:30am to see what was going on. Although they were open, no one answered, so we just left a message. No one called us back. Around 11:15am we called back and this time did get through to someone. We told them we had a 10am appointment and no one showed up or called us. The salesperson on the phone told us they would have the service person call us-- no apology or explanation. Five minutes later a service person did call us and said he would be 5-10 mins out. A service person did arrive, around 11:30am (an hour and a half after our scheduled appt.) He arrived but no apology or explanation, so I asked why he was so late. He said he was not the original service person and he just got a call to come do this job and hes not sure what happened. All in all the service person that did get things set up was very helpful and polite and it sounds like it wasnt his fault. However, I would have expected Big Dog to apologize or provide an explanation since its not like they were running 15 minutes late-- if thats how they treat new customers it makes me wonder how theyll be after weve been with them for a while. There was also some kind of mistake with the paperwork the service person had vs. what our service agreement was, so although it was handled well, it tacked on quite a bit of time to our appointment. Everything took about 2.5 hours (plus the additional 1.5 hrs when we were just waiting for them). If Big Dog had just called to provide an apology I wouldnt have bothered writing this review, but Im really not happy with how things were handled (or not handled at all.) Our fingers are crossed that we dont have any further issues.

We love our service! We had called and reacheduled the install of our service twice and they were still friendly and flexible. Marty was our sales rep and did a great job in being thorough with our choices of packages and listening to our interests in tv to help us decide what packages and services would be best suited for our family. Brandon V. was our installer and he went above and beyond our expectations. He made sure we understood how to use everything, answered all of our questions, and even made sure our cable connections were top notch for connecting our service (we live in an older building). We definetely recommend Big Dog satellite to anyone who has this option. We are happy with our new service and happy to be watching our show every Sunday night! Thanks Big Dog!

Horrible. Been trying for almost a week to get service from these people. We got two phone calls in one hour in the middle of the day during the week. After that we never got a call back and they only answered the phone twice only to dodge our questions and get us off the phone. Once they got us off the phone they did not answer us at all. We called Friday morning at 10 am sept. 1st and we were giving permission to call them back once we did what they said . They never answered the phone! Most unprofessional business I’ve ever dealt with.

After not having a great experience technically or with customer service with a major cable/internet provider, we chanced upon Big Dog and are so glad we did. We have Dish through them and century link as our internet provider. Dish works really well; a few small issues when it rains hard or storms but nothing that has lasted longer than a few minutes. But what we appreciate most is that each time weve dealt with them from a customer service perspective theyre patient and want to solve the problem! Weve had to move a few cable boxes in our house and they get someone here within a few days. And the technician who came to our house was nice, knowledgeable and worked quickly. I just moved into a brand new apartment and my landlord said to go through this company for cable. I had called Century Link for my internet and they said that it would be 3 weeks before a tech could come out to my place to set that up, my boyfriend works from home so that is not ideal.I called many other internet providers and no one else services my building.I called Big Dog and talked with Marty who spoke like he had some kind of inside man that could get me service faster, he said that he could get a tech out to my place in 5 days but first I had to call Century Link and cancel my order with them. so I did. I called Marty back and he said that he had to call Century Link because they still had my order opened and that he will call me back later that day, he did not all back. The next day I called Marty again and he said that the order was still open and he would call me back, he did not. The following day I called Marty again but this time I spoke with someone else who told me that they cannot expedite any orders with Century Link because that is who they work with and so they wouldnt be any faster. He put me on hold to get Marty, after being on hold for 10 minutes I hung up. Called back Century Link and got a new date another two weeks out from the original.If Marty would have told me the truth from the beginning that he could not get me internet any faster than my original date then it would have been fine, and I would now have internet instead of still waiting another 2 weeks.

If you work from home or need quick upload speeds and a customer service experience that responds to your needs quickly. DO NOT purchase services to CenturyLink. I have had so many issues with accounts being created that were not needed, but I still was required to pay for. I was guaranteed at least 1mbps for my upload speeds and 20mbps for my download speeds (the highest speeds available through CL) and I had these speeds for 2 months before the company changed the speed channels for my service area, with out warning might I add. I was a loyal customer of CL for 3 years and as the start of 2016 when I needed them the most to get my home office up and running they failed to produce. The representatives were not all pleasant to speak with as well. This isnt the stress I needed for $95/month. I have now switched to Imon getting 50mbps with 3mbps for uploads with a basic phone line for $30 less than CL!! I also get to have it installed tomorrow! So I will finally be able to get back to work quicker than I planned! 5 Stars Imon 1/2 Star CenturyLink
