I rarely leave reviews for businesses, but this place was wonderful. Its a small, well-kept shop, and seemed like a place where you could find quality work by professionals. I needed the sleeves to my suit jacket to be shortened and had just a few days to get it altered before an event. I asked the tailor if it would be ready in time and he said it wouldnt be a problem. I went in the day of the event, picked up my jacket, and it fit perfectly! The tailor was professional, performed high-quality work on short notice, and was reasonably priced. I couldnt be happier with the experience and will be returning whenever I need clothes to be altered.

My daughter was in a tragic accident and lost both of her legs above the knee. She is in rehab at St Luke’s and her physical therapist said the tied pj bottoms got in the way of what she needed to do. I took several pair of her pj’s to this tailor and he took care of shortening the pants and sewing them shut in record time....and wouldn’t let me pay. Thank you so very much. I recommend him for the kindness he showed my family. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Amazingly quick, affordable and quality work done on my jeans... I had to hem the jeans as it was too lengthy and visited this place today afternoon.. he said it would be ready by Monday and to my surprise he called after couple hours and said it is ready to pickup 😀

Quick, affordable, quality work — I had a really wonderful experience here. Dropped something off to be hemmed one morning and by that same afternoon it fit perfectly. The tailor is a pleasure to work with. I wouldnt go anywhere else in Cedar Rapids.

I took a pair of suit pants in to get hemmed. Not only were the pants ready the next day, but it was only $10! Believe it or not, thats not the best part: I was unaware that they only accepted checks or cash. When I only had my cards for payment, the owner just let me take the pants for free! I now know where all my tailoring needs are going to be met.

Went in to get a jacket adjusted, he recommended that I shouldnt as it would barely help the fit in certain cases and would make the clothes less versatile. Had every opportunity to do the work but opted in my interest instead. Then fixed a button in a moments notice. Very impressed.

Was very honest & helpful in trying to determine what alterations needed to be done (told me to exchange pants for another size and hem them instead of charging me to take them in too), did it timely, and even worked with me to provide some additional help I needed to get reimbursed by the clothes manufacturer after the fact. 10/10 service! This is my tailor from now on.

I went to Downtown Tailoring to see if they could repair the zipper on my coat. The gentleman took a look at my coat and repaired it for free

I needed 2 pairs of jeans hemmed the same day. He said Yes, bring them down, I do it. and he did! Great service. Not very talkative. The hems were great except for where it goes over the side seam, that was not a straight line. Over all I would rate it at an A and I will use them again!

Went in to get measurements to purchase a suit and inquire about getting it tailored. After about 10 minutes of the tailor practically shouting at me and how anyone that says they can get me a suit is lying to me because my shoulders are broad, he praised himself for educating me and told me to come back with a suit that fits like a glove.... I was trying to give him business, wont go back.
