Consumer Electronic Service in Cary has the worst personal working for a company I have ever encountered ! Do not spend any of your hard earned money with these people - IF thats what they are !! I stopped by to ask about scheduling service, the doors are locked, and have such dark light film on them you can barely see the shadowy figures inside, nothing about Covid-19, masks, etc. posted on the doors ! A staff person walks up and points to a sign way over on the right side that says call for curbside service, uh excuse me Im standing right here - I signal the staff - uh Im right at your front door !!! Just points at the sign and walks away ! That upset me a lot -so I gave the hand gesture and went start towards my car - then he opens the door to admonish my gesture!You could really tell this man could care less about his business and any sort of customer service !!

Had our TV repaired here. To fix a single black line on the right, and dark spot on bottom left. This is how it was returned as fixed. Spoke to the Manager about the issue not being fixed. He refused to let me email these 2 photos. Instead he said the black lines down the right side are part of the banner. Im no technology expert but I know alot about how things are supposed to be. This is definitely not fixed and its not part of a banner. Untimely he refused to take the TV back to repair it properly. im including the photos here in hopes the manager will see them and realize when he was telling me I was wrong about what I was describing, I was actually right and he needs to apologize.

I had a 40 year old stereo receiver that belonged to my late father. It wasn’t turning on, leaving multiple other components (record player, tape deck) basically useless.I arranged for the repair and was able to drop it off and pick it up contact-free, which was appreciated. They were cordial and the price was very fair.The did an outstanding job. They didn’t just fix the stereo, they gave me back a piece of my Dad. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended.

I brought two reel to reel tape decks here to be repaired. The first one was repaired and all was well for that one. The 2nd one however, took about 6 months before I finally went to pick it up. Because of the shops overzealousness on COVID 19 guidelines, they would not allow me to test the deck to see if it was working or if it needed to be looked at again, so I got it home thinking maybe it was repaired and it was still non functional upon testing it. Needless to say, I ended up parting it out and was disgusted by the way the staff handled the entire situation. As a result of this nonsense, this shop has lost me as a customer and I will not be recommending this repair shop to anybody as a result of this.

I was approved for a courtesy repair through my TV manufacturer. I called this place with my approval number ready. From the beginning, the guy who answered wouldnt even give me the chance to provide my approval number and said without it he couldnt do anything for me. I tried twice to tell him I had the number and he wouldnt let me speak. Once I gave him the number, he seemed annoyed and asked what the issue with the tv was. I told him. He then tells me that HE has decided to reject the TV manufacturers approval because he doesnt want to send 2 guys out for the repair. WOW. Dont even bother calling this place. You wont get anywhere.

So glad to have found a shop that can work on vintage stereo equipment! They cleaned up an old (72) receiver for me and is sounds AMAZING. All of the cracking and popping is gone. Also, they were excellent at following Covid protocols. Ill definately return to them in the future.

I was referred to them from SquareTrade when my TV started acting funny. The technician was on time, courteous, and a fixed the problem the first try. He was probably here for maybe 20 minutes. I would recommend them to anybody needing electronics repair.

Had a 50 year old receiver, that was in need of loving care. Brought it to CES, and they said it needed at least a good cleaning inside. Left it with them, and was called back a few days later that it needed tuner parts. The quote for the extra was very reasonable. Picked it up that day. They showed me the difference in sound and receiving quality before I took it home. Worked just as well at home. They were efficient, professional, and did what they said they would do. They were also very competitively priced.

I had an schedule diagnostic between 8-12 on a Saturday. The tech was a NO SHOW and no one bothered to notify me of any changes. I tried to call repeatedly but kept receiving the same robotic message. I know their not that busy to answer calls. I hope they lose their contract with the insurance company I’m using. Absolutely discussed about wasted time!!!!

Customer service at its worst! I went to pick up my TV after being told it is ready, but no one was there. The next day the person there was very rude and arrogant and asked if I heard of Covid, which apparently was his excuse for not being there during working hours.Very weird and kind of funny part of the whole experience was me standing outside the business door with the guy on the inside asking me to call the number on the door, all while talking to me through the glass door.Kind of a jerk behavior... do not recommend going there!

Amazing Service. I dropped off my television before going into work. Received a call before lunch with a diagnosis and approved the repair. TV was ready that afternoon for pick-up. Installed TV that evening and everything is working perfectly. Fabulous service! Highly recommend the company.

I had a great repair experience. Samsung directed me to this company to have my television repaired. The technician and support staff were great and enjoyed what they were doing. The service technician came with the parts to fix my television on the spot. My television was back in working order shortly after he started working on it.

We had a warranty repair on our LG TV. They arrived at our house on time, knew exactly what the problem was, fixed it within an half hour and took the time to adjust our settings and show us how to use apps we didnt even know we had! No charge! Great service!

This Company doesn’t have a clue and is not worth the 1 star I had to give in order to POST this. I have a receiver I had my 18-year-old daughter drop off when she went back to school from Christmas break. (Jan 6, 2017) She called me due to the Guy at the counter really didn’t wont to have anything to do with a young woman. I attempted to tell him what my problem was and he could care less. I called back the end of January to find the status of the repair and the same Guy said he would check on it and get back. Well that didn’t happen, I called back a week later for the Guy to tell me they could not find a problem. I told him if he would have listened to me when it was dropped off I could have saved us some time. For the second time, he told me he would get back with me shortly and to me surprise he didn’t. I called and left messages with no return, I finely reached him and he tells me oh, the board coast $165.00 - $225.00. Now as a small business person myself, I would have ask what would you like to do or say it is more cost effective to just to replace. Like the previous review just looking for the bench fee. I don’t know how he is still in business. It took 10 weeks for nothing. GOOD LUCK!

LG referred us to this place back in March because we are still under warranty. My TV is still not fixed. They attempted once and brought it back still messed up. I was told 3 weeks ago they ordered a part. I have been calling, texting and emailing with not one response.

Didnt even get to use them, the person on the phone was extremely rude and interrupted both attempts to ask a question with maam, maam, maam!. I understand he felt he could anticipate my exact question and wanted to cut me off with what he thought was the answer, but he didnt even offer the courtesy of letting me finish a sentence before doing so, and he didnt answer my second question at all (which was whether they kept the part I need on hand or not). To be clear, these were not long-winded questions, the whole call took about a minute.

The technicians were knowledgeable professionals, who went the extra mile to try to ensure my LG LED was functioning properly. Unfortunately, it was a software issue that LG is working to resolve, so there was little they could do right now. Still, they provided their contact information and offered me the options of contacting them directly while the issue was unresolved, instead of having to jump through all the hoops a phone call to LG customer service entails. I love the television but am glad to not have to deal with the LG customer service reps whenever possible, so appreciated their willingness to handle the ins-and-outs with LG. Thank you gentlemen.

DirecTV Premier Protection Warranty Program sent them to diagnose my 15 year old Plasma TV so it would be covered under my DirecTV Warranty. The tech completely ignored everything I told him about the pink and blue splotches, horizontal and vertical images on commercials and TV shows, and refused to look at them. He said he could only send DirecTV pictures of a YouTube Color Swatch test. The Test had an embedded image of YouTube in the upper right corner in one of the colors, so he sent it to them diagnosing the problem as Image Burn which is a SCAM. DirecTV refused to honor my warranty as they said we leave the TV on so long it has image burn. That is a ridiculous claim, the TV goes into Screen Saver after being paused for more than 30 seconds, and it has NEVER EVER displayed Image Burn until the scam test was done by CES. Im attempting to attach pictures of the REAL ISSUE which was TOTALLY IGNORED by the ignorant technician. It is NOT image burn, it should have been fully covered by my Warranty.

Stay Away/Don’t Even Try!I had an appointment with them set up by LG today and was told they would I arrive between 8-5 and would call an hour out. So I’ve been waiting all day and nothing. When I call their office it goes to voicemail and their website says they close at 230pm.I’ve wasted an entire day, a holiday I might add and they didn’t even bother to call and tell me they weren’t coming.So what can I say- don’t use them because they’ll accept and appointment and then pull a no show leaving you wasting an entire day.

They did an extended warranty repair job on my 60 inch Plasma. Came the first business day to pick up the set, fixed it and returned it the very next morning. Excellent communications between the company and myself. Great pick up and re-install on the wall by Jeff. Would recommend for repair.

This has been the worst experience I ever had with any repair company. My TV was taken on August 27, 3013 for repairs. The company never call me to give me an estimate of the repairs. After 30 days, I had to go up there to find out how much it would be for repairs. They finally quote me $240 after 45 days of follow up each week. From then I never heard from the company unless I went up there in person. Finally, in Jan 2014 I decide to follow up with them to get my TV back. They could not figure out what was wrong. They call me one time during the entire period on Jan 14, 2014 to tell me they were doing inventory and do I want them to throw my TV away since Im not getting it repair. It was not that I didnt want it repaired. It was they couldnt repair it and didnt take the time to tell me for 5 months. That was $45 wasted, gas and time. I dont recommend them for anything. They need to learn customer service first. In addition, I always leave the plastic on my TVs to protect the front frame. They pull it off for some reason. They did not replace all the screws.

Called for an estimate on a repair. Was put on hold multiple times and wasnt able to be helpful in giving a ballpark price on repair for any problems. Didnt want model number, brand, or pictures in order to help give an estimate. Just was pushing for the at home diagnostic repair for $85. The guy seemed to have an attitude and was not interested in a good customer service.

I dropped my TV off over the weekend and it was ready by Tuesday. Backlight on my LG LED broke. They had the parts in store and repaired it right away. Price was fair and cheaper than buying a new TV by about $200. Nice and informative service representative. Dont want to have to go back but will.UPDATE: tv repair lasted about 5 months. Same issue popped up. The store offers 90 day warranty on parts and labor so I ended up buying a new TV anyway. Grateful for the repair but wish it lasted. Wouldve used the repair money for a new TV to begin with. Decrease stars from 4 to 3

Customer Service is terrible! In-home diagnostic is $85!? lol. Just to see what the problem is costs $85 as if it is so difficult to diagnose. Plus, if you take it to their location it is $65!? I can understand a small fee for them coming to your location, but in-store diagnostic should be free or at least much much cheaper. However, even with that, rude and absolutely NO customer service skills. Once I got enough of that, I did not pursue any further business with them.

The worst customer service I have ever received! I was referred here by a Phillips customer service rep. I called just to get an estimate for a diagnosis and to ask if my problem was common. The guy rudely responded and said “We fix a lot of tv’s, a tv is either going to turn on or its not, I can’t tell you if its common”. Ok sir thanks for nothing. Television monitor repair everyone said, just buy a new one! Im not one to throw products away Ive always looked for quality especially with electronic equipment. I have to say that I didnt think people still performed this task then I remember Consumer Electronic from a NEC monitor repair I had done back in the 80s. Which has gone through myself and two college freshman and still is running(heavy as all get up). Anyway took my present monitor to them and was again pleasantly surprised at knowledge of electronics and reasonable advice on repairing said product. They not only repaired the main problem, but also did thorough diagnostic and repaired two capacitors that would eventually lead to trouble. Im so glad now dont have to rearrange everything in stereo room by getting new monitor. Prices fair and if you can find any old warm and fuzzy tube equipment their the people to give it new life!Thanks

This business ranks at the bottom when it comes to customer service. They dont have a clue when it comes to how customers should be treated. Very nasty attitude when constantly telling me that they dont work for nothing. Never asked them work for nothing. Asked a very basic question about the unit that I took in for repair and he told me that he would have to sit down and read the manual even though he claimed to be an expert on the equipment. Dont waste your time with these guys. They shouldnt be working on anyones equipment.

I have used this factory certified company for years now and they are the most professional electronic service company for TVs and Home Theater systems. They even fixed my Bose system one time and each time the repairs were done very timely and at a very reasonable price.I highly recommend using them if you live in Cary or Morrisville.Best regards, Joe

I arrived this morning at 9, when the shop was supposed to have opened, but there was no one here. Killed an hour Knocking off work emails until 10, still no one here. Called the number on the door and got a voicemail that did not state the business name. No answer to my voicemail and I have other things I need to do, so leaving. The repairs might be great but the customer service and business practices are abysmal.

Pioneer recommended this place as the closest one to service my car radio. I called Consumer Electronic Service, told them the specific model, the car it was installed in and the details of the problem. They told me to bring in the unit and they could service it. I explicitly told them it was installed in the car and they still said to bring it in. That to me, implied it was not a problem.When I got there, the person behind the counter said these models were more like computers and way too complex for the limited equipment they had there and they could not help and instead, referred me back to Pioneer. Additionally, they denied telling me to bring the car in as they said they would not uninstall the unit and would have to have it by itself to service it. That doesnt help me a bit as I would then need to find a place to both uninstall and then reinstall later. They lied on two accounts. To top it off, the person would not tell me his name when I asked and there were no business cards on the counter. This should not be an authorized Pioneer Service Center. The person seemed nice and wanted to help in some way which is why they got an extra star but I dont appreciate them wasting my time.

This is one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever dealt with. I dropped off my Samsung Plasma TV for repair before Thanksgiving 2012. Samsung directed me to them as an authorized repair shop. They underestimated the repair bill by $130 from what I was initially quoted. Fine - it needed to be fixed. However, they never once contacted me throughout the entire process. Ive had to call them every few days to check on the status of my repair. I got the TV back fixed, but they lost all the screws to my stand and didnt even try to give me back the TV with the stand. Im now calling every day to demand that they provide me with the original screws that fit the TV stand. Do yourself a favor; find another electronics repair shop. The girl that works the front desk is very, very rude and has no idea what customer service means. Her attitude screams that she doesnt care. I cannot understand why this place is in business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Opened a case with LG because I was under warranty. They out sourced my work to them because of the days I was available. The case has been open now for a good month and a half and I still do not know what is going on. Owner has stated several times that he would call me back on specific days and i have yet to receive a call back. Tried calling back this week multiple times and finally got someone and they told me the owner was sick and that he didnt know anything that was going on to call back Monday. I am a very patient person after working retail as I know at times people get busy and cant inform an individual customer every second something changes but the problem is I have not received any updates of any kind. When the service technician came out prior to the above, he even acknowledged that he has received complaints from other customers about how rude the owner is. I hope this review helps others before dealing with them as I do not recommend dealing with them purely on the fact that they have poor customer service period.

My contact with CES started when Samsung routed my repair ticket for my new TV to them. The problem was a bent frame on the new tv and it was causing the back panel to pop off and you could see light coming through between the frame and the panel. First, the man that answered the phone was rude, each time I called he said, i am going to finish up with another customer and call you right back. Never got calls back, I would always call again later in the day to actually get to speak with someone. The person on the phone accused me of delaying the process and if I kept pushing the repair out the ticket would be closed. The only delay occured in trying to get someone to actually stay on the phone long enough to my issue. Second once the repairman (actually a nice guy) came out and confirmed the TV issue, he said he would have to send off to get the new panel and this may be a few weeks, it was, but when he returned to repair he only had double sided tape. Apparently this was all his manager/office approved even though he agreed this would not fix the issue. He proceeded to put on the tape and hang the TV back up on wall, said they would get back to me and havent and its been about a month. Also, they send out 1 person to repair a 65 in TV, I could not hang it above a fireplace myself, so I am not sure how he would have gotten it off the wall had I not stayed home, if it had just been my wife and kids the repair would have never occurred.If you have any choice in your repair, I would avoid this company at all costs. Actually I would pay extra to not use them if that were an option. TV is still bent.

Consumer Electronics Service is a company to avoid. They repaired my Samsung TV, but in the process broke the back cover. I called them to see what they were going to do about the breakage and got “we will take care of it.” I called the about every two weeks with the same repose “we will take care of it” with an added “we have not forgot you”, until about 6 weeks after the repair, they wanted a picture of the part that was broken. Called them a few days, after I emailed it, to verify they received the picture and to get a few questions answered, they verified the picture was received but did not answer my questions. I called about a week after that to be told they were waiting on Samsung to give them an answer and I may be able to speed up the process if I called Samsung. A new process began of having different representatives of Samsung to communicate with Consumer Electronics by phone and email without success. Now, over 3 ½ months later, I have not been contacted by them one time through the process and I am convinced they never intended to stand behind their work.

I was referred to CESNC for a TV warranty claim evaluation by Samsung. After finally getting the technician to my house (I live in Apex, but he first drove to Garner because he looked at the street address but not the city) he told me that he believed my TV was legitimately defective and would recommend to Samsung that they replace a part. This turned out to be completely false, because his report to Samsung was that the TV was normal. I had to follow up with them over a month later after getting no follow up at all on my claim. I will never use this service again.

Consumer Electronics Service was referred by Samsung to repair the wifi module, and an appointment was already set up. However, the technician neither called to confirm or show up for an appointment, so I called CES to make another appointment. It was a week after that call to Samsung that the technician finally showed up. I was upset that he only stayed for five minutes and did not repair the wifi module. This technician said that the TV was just working fine, and told me that I had to use a small remote, which is for the Samsung Blu-Ray player, to connect the internet. He also lied that the wifi module on TV was repaired and worked without any technical difficulty. I contacted CES after he left, and they eventually backed up with him and his work report. Of course, I called Samsung to report that the technician wasnt doing his job to replace the wifi module in my TV, and relayed what he said about the small remote for the blu-ray player. The Samsung representative and I agreed that we shouldnt have to use the Blu-Ray device to connect internet and play movies and shows from Netflix and Hulu on it. I will NEVER use CES for their services at all!!

I took my tv in for a minor repair on a Monday afternoon at 1:30. I was told I would be called with a price quote so they could get to work on it by the end of the day, but it should be around 50 for this type of repair. I needed the tv back by Friday at the latest. I ended up calling back 4 times throughout the week in search of this price quote and was told each time we will call you right back. I waited until Monday ( 7 days) and called and spoke to a manager. He told me the price would be 90 as now the tv had other issues as well. I tried to nicely explain that I had been given the wrong information more than 4 times the previous week and I was a little uncomfortable with their service. The conversation went about as well as their service. The tv was picked up and has found a new home at another repair shop. Question...Are we in a bad economy and small business needs money?

Worst repair service ever. I have an unusual brand wall-mount system that had a broken 5-disc changer, and after 4 months of me calling regularly, they were still unable to fix it. Rather than keeping me updated, I had to chase them down - finally went to pick up the system and took it somewhere else. Very poor customer service - would leave zero stars if possible.

Dont use this company if your needing a repair.I had a warranty and this company was setup to do my repair. I had two appointment and they no showed and no call even after I called office both times. Had to call to verify someone was still coming and after they told me someone would be there, still no call or no show and then pushed the blame on the warranty company. I help operate a business and that is not how to run a company.
