***Review Subject to Improvement - 09.07.21 - Vanguard is implementing a system change to make prior loading nightmares a thing of the past ***Had a pickup for 08.20.21 first time and the process was a nightmare. 8-12 hours wait time and line up until the street - HOW IS THAT EVEN LEGALLY ALLOWED? Safety hazard and law issue for sure. This has caused Vanguard to RESPOND to the issue at a management level. Will see how the reviews pickup in coming weeks once the new system is “Implemented” and not “talked” about. Action speaks louder than words.

Worse place I recommend any truck driver do not go to this place you have to make line for 1 hour take me 6 hours for 8 pallets thats ridiculous

Got here at 1030 this morning and its almost 4 and I might b getting loaded soon. If u run with a clock make sure u have nothing before this bc ull run ur clock out.

Absolutely the worst docks for LTL delivery. Out of 10 doors, they work out of 2 or 3. First come first served. Line usually consists of 5-7 carriers waiting.3-4hrs wait for a 1-3 skid delivery.

Don`t know about loading, but unloading, appt 9 a.m. empty 10 a.m., not so bad

Just canceled the load , 4 trucks at docks and 6 waiting in the lane, so, total of 10 truck are waiting to get loaded. For those who have pick ups here good lock!

Worst place that I had pick up ever, they are not organized well, Fort cliff drivers dropping loads around, no order and when you get door you probably will not have what to load because they will put your load on some other truck like they did to me, I was there for 6h.

If you want to bring the kids for a barbecue while your waiting for a dock, then send the kids to sleep after getting a dock because it’s going to be a long night !!!, before getting loaded !?

I arrived at vanguard at 11.38amTo pick up 1 pallet .got in the dockAt 1.00pm and waited to be loaded.I recieved my freight at 4.51pm.I was there over 5 hours.they needMore fork lift drivers on the dock.VERY FRUSTRATING.😡

If you are picking up good luck. The lady that takes care of the pick ups works like a sloth. Makes herself look busy..... And they don’t open till 9am. And don’t do anything till about 9:30. So best for you to be here at 10. That way you save yourself some time. And after you get your paperwork here come the forklift drivers. They stare at you from across the building not doing sh** talking about how hard the have to work. Have fun next time you come here. Cheers mate! ✌🏻 👋

Not the best place to come, long waiting time, it might take 1 hr just to check in and then depends how many people ahead of you expect to seat for another 2-3hrs. They open the door at 9am so If you picking up, back in to the dock 29-38 and be by the door at 8.50am that might save you a lot of time

Gosh everything here is soo slowwww. You can wait between 15min to half hour only for checking in, after that God know how long before coming your turn on the line. Only 1 guy unload the trucks other few are in the warehouse . They dont have enough personnel**

Slooooow very slooooow ,one guy to unload 10 trucks ,its almost 2 hours now after they open and he still unloading the first truck ,Back up to the door before to go in to the office because of you dont back up first they will turn you back to do so and you will lose your turn

Prepare to waste half your clock here. I came on a Thurs afternoon at 2 pm to PU. 10 trucks waiting in front of me to get in a dock. Got parked in a dock and by 3:45pm, I was inside the building waiting in another line to check in which approximately 15 mins on average for each person to check in.

Any driver reading this know that this place is torture! You have been warned. Ive been driving a semi for 9.5 years all around Chicago and although I know of some pretty bad places, this is the worst. First the wait time... very long. Second, considering Ive drove a day cab with a 53 for almost ten years in Chicago it was no problem to back in however, I watched a lot of people with sleepers have a very difficult time and needing to use the grass for space. Third, once you have backed in bring your coat, gloves, blankets, hats, food, water, coffee, or whatever you will need for the next two hours plus. I was here during a VERY cold day during winter and am pretty sure I almost passed out and got close to hypothermia. They make you sit right next to a dock door for flatbeds and box trucks making it very cold. Youer probably wondering, why didnt I go get food or a coat from my truck? because they said they would stop unloading me and I would have to go to pull out of a dock and go to the back of the line... Fourth, when I needed to use the restroom they made me give them my truck key, license, or cell phone for collateral. I guess that is understandable since everyone hates you and probably steals the key to let you know. As a side story, I sat their with a 60-70 year old driver that was sitting in the freezing cold with me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I was suffering but this man must have been in real actual pain! If I (under 30) couldnt feel my fingers, having my knees locked up, shivering due to the cold what do you think this poor man felt like? Take a pass on a load going to this place and help send a message. All around the worst and you should be ashamed of yourselves for treating people like this. Despicable!

Weve been using this warehouse for shipments out of Indiana for years like clockwork. Weve had issues with suppliers, issues with truckers, but never any issue with this warehouse. Theyve even made exceptions for late freight received after the cutoff. Consistently fantastic. Thank you.

Poorly organized...fairly unintelligent drivers as well...hate to criticize drivers but they block half the yard in a single file line,who does that? Idiots?

Good employees but waiting awhile to pick up 5 skids

Let me start by saying that the staff I dealt with were both polite and courteous. Their system is lacking and they are definitely understaffed however. First is the hour and a half wait in line outside for a dock, they only use 12-15 of the 60 docks on the north side for live loading. Then, after you finally back into a dock, you go inside and check in at the window then wait 10-15 minutes for them to process you order and give you paperwork for their next step. Then you wait in yet another line, for an hour or so, to check in with 1 of the maybe 3 forklift drivers they have working. Then you wait in yet another area for the forklift driver to stage your pallets so you can check them for damage, and trust me you need to check them. All in all you are looking at 3-6 hours no matter how many pallets you are getting.

Lazy workers, everytime I arrive here nobody cares about drivers. Always had 3-4 hours to offload. Narrow place to back in to docks. Often have to climb on the curb with steer tires to be able to get in to a dock.

If you care about your truck and your time you’ll never ever come here! Awful place, both for delivery and pick up 👎👎👎👎👎👎

This place treat you like crab and always intimidating you, if you for some reason you tell them its not what they ask you to do theyre getting aggressive and tell you forget what the theyll post on their announce and you have to to follow what they told you to do, theyre wanted always to have control of your life out off the company if you dont dont follow, the supervisor of that department you belong to start saying that David the main person its not going to like it, and he just wants to help you so he dont take matters on your actions.

Receiving 8am to 6pm. Back in to 39-52 doors first. Come inside and wait. In 8:03am out 8:45. This is with the forklift driver having a 15 minute conversation with some guy while unloading me.

They are well organized, usually load you up fast.

Worst place I have ever picked up from everyone that works here is just standing around. They have 10 loading doors all full with trucks waiting to get loaded more outside waiting and no one loading. If I worked like this I would be fired. The office girls are rude too.

So much you pay, that much we work! That is the rule. The people working here are, good, polite and calm. You want faster service you need to pay lumper service, the Policy does not allowed that type of service here, so you have to wait. If you are local employees ( driver ) , you are ok cause you get paid on hourly basis. The picture is totally different if you are OTR driver. Then you are under the pressure of the new regulations and the damned electronic logs. So than you wright negative comment cause everything move so slow ( your opinion).But that is the salt and sugar of that interesting drivers life.-:)

I deliver here twice a week. The docks are tight and most not all of the fork lift drivers have a bad attitude! Good luck if you have to come hear ! Expect a long wait time.

The absolute worst customer service, slowest importer I have ever had to deal with. Do not use this company EVER! My contact Guadalupe is never there for communication and when she does answer the phone she doesnt know any information. Trisa is no help whatsoever. I missed multiple deadlines due to this company which greatly effected my business.

All the reviews above true except for the first one, they had signs that read 1pick up only go to window #2 and by appointment only!!Went to window2 with signs that read by appointment only but the lady who was sitting by herself on the right with a period attitude said we don’t have appointment and she is looking at the sign and told me she don’t care we’re I wait!!!!! No APPOINTMENT TIME Here??Really life is too short , so I just ignored it.

For pickup use door 29 to 38 back in first and then check in at door 29 for delivery other side of building line up if there is a line find a door and then check in usually overall 3 to 4 hr is normal here

If you go to pick up on a hot day, expect to be sitting in a warehouse for 3-5 hours......dont ask for water as you will be denied......wish I could give this place negative stars!!!!!

Absolutely it’s worst place to delivery and to pick if u want to wast you time u can go I’m recommending every drive to stop this place to delivery and to pick up because they don’t care abt the drive

Crazy system... you go to check in and the Lady asks if you are in a dock door yet. Then she tells you to go back, get in a dock door and then come back and check in.If delivering to Vanguard, go around building to door 39. If no trucks in line, you can go ahead and get in a door.(39-52) Then co check in.
