No Joke; AMAZING SERVICE. After the storm in Jan 2021, we were woken up with a 10-15 top chunk of our tree on our house. Including puncturing holes and being lodged into the roof. I spoke with Heather, and right away she was comforting. Explaining how she would have the team out there that same for removal and that she would handle the insurance company. The Boys were here no later than 3 hours after that call. The removed this tree limb, cleaned up all debris/smaller branches, threw in the chipper and were done in amazing speed.Everyone showed up in masks and was very professional. I cant express enough how much I recommend all at Rods Tree Service. A+++

The workers are fantastic, they’re very professional.However, I take it as a cheap boss/owner. (Just my experience and opinion). Their truck wouldn’t start. Then their chipper wouldn’t work. They easily spent 25% of their time dealing with faulty equipment. Example of a possible cheap greedy owner, (again just my opinion) I hope the employees don’t get harassed for taking longer than they should.They got the job done and again they were very professional and I would hire them in the future.

I used Rod’s Tree Service to take out 2 very large birch trees in my backyard. The estimate was reasonable and communication was great. They got the job done quickly and ensured all was cleaned up afterward. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

Very happy with the whole process. The crew arrived as scheduled and were the hardest working guys I have seen. They did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. A couple boards were damaged on the neighbors fence and they took care of that the neighbor was also impressed with their work.

Don’t waste your time. We received a written estimate after a brief visit to assess our project. We accepted the offer right away. Despite one text connection several weeks later, I was unable to get commitment to a service date. After a full month passed, I called and asked if our case had fallen through the cracks. Rod’s said they were unaware of our case but would check and get right back in touch; they never did. Life’s too short. We quickly received excellent service elsewhere.

We had two bradford pear trees removed in our yard. The three men who came to our home did a great job for us. Very satisfied and highly recommend this company.

These guys have removed a couple very large trees for me. They work hard and do a good job!

Rods came in the best out of 4 estimates that I received and did a wonderful job removing a tree and grinding the stump a few days later. They even cleared all the leaves that had already fallen which would have taken 3 or 4 yard waste cans to get rid of.

Most reasonable and knowledgeable tree trimmers in the sacramento area. Had a tree close to my house as well as my power lines, Rods crew came in and did a great job and even removed the stump. Great prices always answer the phone 10/10 recommend to anyone!

They did the job...eventually. The first appointment, for the quote, was just forgotten. Plain and simple. But we gave them another chance because our neighbor had used them and recommended them. We got the quote but then they didnt show up to do the job! I had taken the day off from work because I didnt want them bringing down the wrong trees, but apparently they ran late on the job before ours so just quit for the day and didnt see any reason to let me know. I was darn mad by this time but they appeased me by scheduling a new time around my schedule.I saw on their website that they accept most credit cards but when I wanted to use one to pay, the crew couldnt take it and told me to call the office, which I did. I was told there would be a service charge (I cant recall exactly what the charge was but it was crazy high, like maybe 20%!) for using a cc since they had to pay a fee to the bank. I told them that was unacceptable and I was willing to pay a service fee but not more than 3%. They accepted that, but I was miffed again because that should have been mentioned on the website. Just a fair warning.

We had a tree removed in the backyard last year and paid for stump grinding and root chasing as well. When the guys left, there was a foot and a half of sawdust and dirt over the whole area. After cleaning it up we saw lots more exposed roots. They came out again and chased them. Again everything was covered and couldn’t see if anything was missed.Shortly after that we had a baby and everything was put on hold. We are finally putting in sod and I found 4 more roots sticking out and a piece of the stump. We called them back and they said that since it’s been so long we would have to pay for the service. I figured that it’s fair for us to pay something so they sent a guy to give us an estimate. They asked for $200 to finish what we already paid for ($950 for tree removal, grinding and chasing the roots). I was expecting to pay $50 or so for 30 min that it would take one person to do that. Needless to say, I am digging up the roots myself.If you need tree removal services and are looking for a good company, keep looking, because this isn’t it. I should have trusted the reviews on here when we hired them.

I had six 40 to 50 foot liquid amber trees to be removed and stumps ground. Under them a city street light, custom shed and fence. I expected something to be broken because that is a lot of wood to remove. Nothing was broken! It was done in 2 days and they left it nice and clean. The best part was the price I paid was almost half of what the 3 other estimates were! If you dont call Rods Tree Service, you dont value your money. Oh, and this is the second time I have used them with no issues.

Called to make an appointment and they came out promptly and gave me a great price to do the work. Then it all went downhill from there. They told me they would call me back to schedule when they would remove my tree. They called and I talked to one of the techs. He just said hed call back to set up the appointment. Its now been 4 days later and a couple calls to them trying to get on the schedule. But I have yet to get any response. I guess they dont want my business. Poor customer service!

Rods crew showed up as scheduled, cut down a 60-80 foot redwood that had succumbed from probably the drought. This tree was in the corner of my yard next to a brick patio, pool, plants and other breakables. Care was taken and no damage to anything. Amazing! The crew was polite, worked hard, and did a great job of cleanup and were done faster than I anticipated. I will have Rods back to trim, and advise on the other trees I have in the front and back yards. I highly recommend this company.

A limb broke on one tree and fell on top of another tree on the side of my house. I called Rods tree service and Rod showed up within an hour. He gave me a quote on taking the trees out and scheduled the time they would come. He called me the day before the scheduled day and asked if they could come a day early because it was suppose to rain on our scheduled day. They came and removed the trees. His crew was great! No problems and they cleaned up afterwards! Great job! I highly recommend them!

I found this service to be excellent. Appointments were kept, on time, estimates were given.Work was done professionally, clean up was excellent. I would rate it 10 stars.

Low cost tree removal.

This place is horrible! They are contracted through Sunburst Properties and my guess is that is the only reason they are still in business. He made multiple appointments with my husband and failed to show for all of the appointments, however Sunburst said that he called her while he was at our property to give the bid to her over the phone, which is literally impossible because my husband and i both took time off of work to wait for this guy and he NEVER showed. A tree fell on the side of my house on Sunday, October 7th and i reported it to the property Management as required per the lease agreement and they said Rods Tree Service is the vendor, so I called them on Monday morning October 8th to see when they were going to come out to have the tree removed. He said he will be out tomorrow October 9th. Waited all day and yet another no call, no show. Today, October 10, i recieved a phone call to confirm the appointment for October 24th to do the tree service! There is literally a tree on the roof of the house and there is definitely damage to the roof. Dont understand why they are advertising 24 hour emergency service, i thought that a tree on the roof counts as an emergency. I just feel bad for the home owner, it is just not the right way to do business, what happened to honest, hard working Americans!?
