Good gym but wish they extended the closing time to 11pm or 12am

Ive had memberships on 3 occasions and if it werent for the head office who tried to steal extra payments from me Id give them a good review.Basically theyll pretend you havent signed forms to leave the gym and call it a No contract contract And if you ask if you need to sign anything the employees will play dumb and youll be charged even after you tell them you no longer want their service.

CalFit has the equipment, facilities, and great staff (from managers to caring janitors!). Calfit membership is at a good value at its price point and close enough to my home that it takes me less than 10 minutes to get there.

Started going to cal fit when i was 3, turning 25 tomorrow. its a little more pricey than 24 or planet fitness but you get what you pay for. plenty of equipment and ammenities (pools, saunas, steam rooms, tanning at most locations) its a place i look forward to going to every day

Been a member for over 20 years. Nice to see makeovers of space and rooms. It would be nice if Staff did a better job of keeping floors in the rooms free of lint clumps and mud and rocks. Some classes due to member attendance needs more equipment available, especially new workout mats. Some are pretty ripped up and grungy.

All of the equipment is outside now! I kinda like it actually I can get fresh air while I workout and run. They shouldve thought of this a long time ago!!

Very friendly, and extremely well-stocked with new machines and a wide variety of equipment that a person of any fitness level can use successfully. I especially appreciate the cleanliness and mold-free environment in the bathroom and pool areas because Im extremely allergic to mold. Im trying to transition from being sedentary to active and the wonderful atmosphere really helps make it easier to get my behind in the door to workout :-)

The best trainer Ive experienced at any Gym (Ivor). Nice atmosphere with the friendliest people around. Never have to wait for someone at the desk either. They make sure you are welcomed & helped efficiently. The equipment, pool, spa, steam room, sauna & best of all, the hydromassage are super. Kudos to all the staff!

I bought one month online $40 to see if its worth being a member of California family fitness. I found they have just basic machines, nothing advance, and its not worth the monthly membership that they charge for the person. They have a very problematic policy for contact agreement. I believe it is not worth it at all because They want me to sign a contract for 12 months!!! I visit it two separate gyms and compared them with 24 Hours Fitness and Lifetime Fitness. I found they have better machines. Also, they have a good deal to be members with them; they are very flexible. I dont know why California Family Fitness has only an agreement for 12 months. They dont care about customers !!

Ive been working with Josh Abernathy as my personal trainer, for quite awhile now. Hes such a good coach, so encouraging and supportive but doesnt let me whine or get away with being lazy! I cant begin to say how much its worth working with a personal trainer, and I highly recommend Josh.

In my opinion they werent taking proper steps for cleanliness, canceled my membership and they continually pulled the money out of my account now they refused to refund

Getting them to answer the phone is like winning the lotto. Since you cant swim without a reservation and you can only schedule up to 2 days in advance it really is frustrating.

My favorite gym. I live downtown but for a treat I drive there to enjoy the outdoor pool and workout area. They have the best pool ever and the nicest employees.

Sometimes outdoors is more fun..

My girlfriend and I have visited multiple times with the intention of adding me to her account. Everytime no one at the location is able to help us. The first time, we were told that the managers able to perform that operation are only in 9-5 M-F. Seems like a poor business plan that the only time your business can gain new customers is when most people are unavailable at their own jobs. Since that first visit. We have returned during that 9-5 window and each time the appropriate people have still not been available. Additionally, on this latest visit, the staff were even ruder than normal. To the point where one lady actually told my girlfriend that she could cancel her membership if she wanted.

My husband and I walked in yesterday after leaving 24hour fitness to get information about cal fit because we drive past it often and we have heard so many advertisements about the gym.After a rushed 5 min conversation with the front desk girl who had no interest in telling us any information about the gym, we decided we would never be a part. We simply wanted to know membership cost for a family and for some reason she could not tell a price and she didn’t know, instead kept saying come back to talk with sales rep on Monday, who was not there.After that impression of how Cali fit does things we are going to go to 24hour fitness on fair oaks who up front gave us all the info needed. The front desk check in rep at 24hour took 15 mins explaining different options and even told us about their upcoming promo of a waived initiation fee for the month of August. Plus the gym was beautiful and fresh unlike the cal fit that had a very stale smell and equipment looked dated.I’m disappointed that cal fit that they bead around the bush and prefer to push people away rather than be up front. Also you need to train your employees to make new comers feel more welcomed and invited. The impression I got from you all is your not upfront with your pricing and your checkin clerks could care less!I’m disappointed I truly expected more I thought this gym was the best thing in California, it’s all hype. I think not.

Always had a good experience here! Front Desk clerks are always smiling and friendly and strike up a conversation. The locker room and floor is always being cleaned round the clock when I visit. My daughter always has a blast in the Kidz Club And has event brought home crafts on several occasions. Very enjoyable atmosphere!

Ive been coming here about 4 days a week, for a month now, and am extremely satisfied with the facilities and staff. The equipment is in good condition, the trainers are helpful, and the staff is friendly. I get a good workout and enjoy my time spent here.

Need to upgrade so many things. Bikes, another stationary squad machine and nicer equipment. This place make THE CALIFORNIA FAMILY FITNESS loss its prestige.

Absolutely one of the best clubs in the area. Their kids club is fantastic. They have two separate areas for children of different ages and a massive, state of the art facility. I have never had to wait for equipment and the club offers a ton of classes if you are so inclined.

Way over priced not even open 24 hours. Froze my account for 3 months and was told I could pay a smaller fee for cancellation of 175 instead of 300 which is still ridiculous. Called and found out the person who told me that was lying about it so I still have to pay 120 worth of fees until I can pay 175. They need to train the staff better so they know what theyre talking about. 24 hours is a much better gym in comparison

Be very careful they hide charges even with no agreement. I usually dont write any comments on anything but, I just want to let people know. And also they discriminate.

Friendly staff always willing to help

Comparing to a few other locations, this one is great! Has newer machines, people are nice like everywhere else, has electronic lockers (great feature that many other locations are missing), steam room is designed very nicely with different colored lighting. I am a regular customer here for a few years already.

Clean, modern, high quality equipment. Very helpful and pleasant staff. I love that I always see at least one or two janitors roaming around constantly cleaning and re-cleaning.

Everything outside is very cold

Front of house staff is rude, dismissive and unhelpful. They also continued to charge my account even after I cancelled our familys membership.-In response to the owners statement, there was no misunderstanding on my behalf. It was disclosed to me when putting my membership on a three month hold that I could cancel without any further payment. Which I provided, in writing, on October 1st, a full two weeks before the end of my 3 month hold. Also, I did NOT hang up on your manager, Jordan hung up ON ME after I stated that I am disputing the unauthorized transaction on my account. He is the very front of house staff member I was referring to in my original review. I have been ignored and forgotten about on more than one occasion by him in the 2+ years I was a member when asking simple questions, like where is your yoga instructor that never showed up to class, or how can I get a new card, or why didnt I get the bonus points when I referred a friend.Nice try, CalFit. You guys are the worst.

Best gym in Cali

Always greeted, by friendly staff. Ive bern going to this gym, for about 2 1/2 years. Tanya, and Courtney, along with Josh, are my favorite staff members, there. They recently bought a plethora, of NICE weight machines, AND, have a HEAVY DUTY, power rack, set up, away from the high foor traffic area. Our kids enjoy the interaction, with the child care staff, there, as well. The child care, is included, with our monthly dues. Ive been a gym rat, for over 30 years, was a competitive Olympic weightlifter, therefore, very particular, about gym amenities. I genuinely dont agree, nor understand, why others have given this gym, such unfavorable reviews. The monthly cost is reasonable, for what we utilize, at this location....We:re looking forward to warmer weather, to utilize their renovated swimming pool.

Always seems fishy to me when you cant get a straightforward answer on pricing. Pushy sales people who try to get you roped in on something instead of just telling me how much it costs.

Sexual harassment alert! Discrimination alert!I have been a member of Rocklin Warren Drive CFF for 12 years, 2 of my boys were practically raised in kid care. I have brought staff fruit, cookies and candy over the years, purchased merchandise. I am clean, modest, fitness loving woman who actually likes to not be a bother and workout to close to people to give them space. I am friends with many of the instructor, elderly people, fellow moms and long term staff there. I get daily high fives from other members saying that I am the most influence they ever had there and that they find me inspirational. They said my smiles and kindness come through. Today I was emotional abused and have never felt so unsafe in my life. The manager Nick Duncan told one of their staff members named Megan a newer employee flag me down after exercising during one of the slowest hours of the day. I do my cardio where I never even have a neighbor and find mats in the body dumbbell area after women have already left. Megan when on to tell me that the manager didnt like me breathing. I immediately asked to speak to manager and felt crushed and confused. Nick Duncan (the manager) when on to meet with me and he told me he was offended by my breathing and didnt want me to breathe basically. I immediately felt threatened and I have never been sexual harassed like this in all my 12 years of being a member there. He made me feel like a sexual object! This is where I go for my peace of mind workout and I consider this place a sanctuary for me. I am having extreme anxiety now and I feel like this location is not safe and CFF doesnt protect its members.

This place is so disappointing.First off I waited to speak with staff for about 15 mins no lie I finally got up and saw one girl working at the desk and she was clearly writing a email ..... an email ... while a customer waits . I go back up to the front desk and ask if I can just get a pass one of the guys stepped in and said yeah you ok just go inI finally get inside and go to the ladies locker room , it was disgusting and dirty There was water about 2 inches deep everywhere you had to be care full where you walked , the gym is so small with tons of people hovering over you . I’m a small person and I found it kind of hard to walk thru without someone hitting me imagine how a bigger person would feel trying to work out . This place should be torn down and remade . Cal fit you guys can do better

Very nice gym, one of my favorite calfits. Has great new machines throughout, dedicated area for bodyweight exercises, tons of cardio equipment and free weight equipment. Sauna, electric lockers, pool, friendly staff, come here often and enjoy myself always.

Great gym but by far the worst kidz club (baby sitters) out of all Cal fits. Daughter is always neglected. Get multiple calls during workouts because they cant calm her down. Never had any issues at the other locations. Today on the door of the kidz club was a very small notice about a LICE outbreak that I truly believe they put up in the middle of my workout. I would have never taken her to a lice infested gym. Some of the glorified baby sitters were actually unaware of this outbreak...

The one star is for working out and loosing some pounds. DONT BELIEVE MANAGERS WHEN SAYING THEYLL BE AROUND FROM 8 TO 4, AND KEEP IN MIND THEY HAVE ANNUAL FEES $49 THEY DONT TELL YOU ABOUT, AND IF you insist on enrolling, then dont sign ANYTHING without reading it carefully first, and use (other) month to month payment, or monthly if you plan for long time-line workouts.

I would give 0 stars if that was possible. I signed up for 2 people 1 year contract. Other person permanently left so I paid $75/mo for 10 months. I asked them if they could remove the other person and at the end of 1 year mark I was going to leave. Manager tried to get me to sign another 1 year contract even though I clearly explained to him I wanted nothing to do with CalFitness. Instead of $75/mo I am not paying $69 for 1 person and now they are harassing me over the phone to send them military documents. They are already taking money out of my account why do they need my military ID? Nothing but a bunch of THIEVES!!!

To the person that wrote that they still charged you even thou you cancelled twice... If you have documentation.. take them to small claims court. Make them pay you back and any other penalties. Massage Envy did this to me..

Guy just stood there like I knew what I was doing. I just walked around n got frustrated cuz Ive never been here. he helped take my pics for my new membership then just stood there like I was taking up space. never coming back to this one!

Few years ago was way much better. Everything including management and policies get worse.

Didnt tell me my contact was for a year said penalty to cancel before the year is up is 300$!! Then said sorry the person that did that contract is now fired so we will set penalty to 170$... crazy

Monica, The operations manager, was extremely rude to me and my parents. I didnt appreciate the service she offered or the way she spoke down to us.

Unfortunately customer service is not number one here. Theyre more worried about inventory then keeping a customer. Canceling my membership next month.

The worst club ever I had to go 7 time in to tell them they over charged me and they said sorry I will fix it..been 2 weeks and still not fixed..hate having to make people do there job worst customer service dont got unless u want to be overcharged be sure to check your account balance you would be surprised your probably being double charged too

Horrible staff in the kids room! They don’t watch children! I came, the child was crying for a long time, no one informed me. The girls stood talking to each other, while the child was crying a lot! Be sure to spit on the children!
