My daughter was getting ready to take the ACT test and I reached out to Huntington to better understand how they can help with preparation. Kurt and his team are experts at what they do. He provided great insights into the college admissions process, has a great understanding of the requirements of pretty much any university you can throw at him and his recommendations on where to focus time and energy to improve results was spot on. It may seem like an expensive proposition up front, but the payback will come in your child being confident in taking the exam, which will yield a better result and getting into the school of their choice or perhaps qualifying for a scholarship based on their score and academics. For college standardized testing preparation and building confidence in test taking for high school aged kids--I highly recommend Huntington.

I came to Huntington in early 2021 with a dream score for the ACT, but did not actually think I would be able to achieve it. After working with the amazing teachers and doing lots of practice, I reached my goal! The learning environment is very professional and the staff are very flexible to individual needs and schedules. The investment is definitely worth it!

I worked with the tutors at Huntington Learning Center of Carmel for about 5 months over the summer and into this fall to prepare to take the ACT. They were very organized with my schedule so I knew exactly what subject I would be covering each time I came in for a session, and the homework was very manageable. They understood I am a busy high school student with a lot of activities and worked to accommodate my schedule while keeping the schedule as consistent as possible, 2-3 times a week, so I was in the mental testing mode and ready for the test when I took it. I also really benefited from tips on my physical preparation for the test which helped with my energy level (breakfast, snack, sleep, wearing a watch and understanding timing of each section, etc) It clearly worked! My score went up by 8 points from my first practice test to the actual test results.

Huntington was amazing with my son. His ACT score went from a 27 to a 34. The investment in Huntington will save me a lot more money with the scholarships that my son will now qualify for.Kurt and Allison were super helpful, professional and accommodating. I would recommend them to everyone!!

We are so pleased with the outcome of the ACT tutoring program for our daughter. Working with Huntington, they identified where Ava needed focus and what development was necessary to achieve her target score. Ultimately, she earned a 4 point increase in her super score and in the two subjects with the biggest area of improvement, she improved both: one a 10 point gain and the other a 7 point gain. It was worth the financial and time investment for us.

My son was really struggling with the SAT. He had taken it twice and did not improve the second time at all. I called Huntington learning center and within a couple of days of my call , Huntington had a plan forNick. The challenge for Huntington and Nick was they had 6 weeks until the next SAT. Nick started the program that Robert Webster set up for him and scored 150 points higher after 6 weeks. I am so impressed with Huntington and would recommend them to everyone. Huntington Learning Center in Carmel has helped both of our daughters. We discovered it after recommendation from a friend, with only a few weeks available before #1 was about to take the ACT for the 3rd time. They crafted a contracted version of the prep course for her (not ideal, but inadequate time to do the whole course) and helped her to take the exam 2 additional times. Lindsay was very generous with providing additional practice tests at no extra fee for preparation for the additional re- sits. #1 finally got the score she wanted for direct admission to Kelley at IU.#2 has a learning disability and after seeing what Huntington did for #1, we enrolled #2 right away in a program that is a prequel to the examination prep course. She also had tutoring for 1 semester in math. A lovely bonus for this working mom, and an example of their flexibility and dedication to the students: Lindsay allowed our daughter to attend 2 additional nights per week, for quiet study time for her school homework. #2 recently completed the ACT test prep course, and blew us away with her score of 27 at her first ACT attempt. Again, additional customized help was offered to help to prepare for another sitting.The regular parent meetings and careful analysis and interpretation of practice and real test scores, helped with insights we had no notion of.Huntington tutoring is especially useful for students of parents like us, who were not educated in the US system.

Cannot say enough good things about this business - the owner is very knowledgeable and willing to help and offer you more advice than the counselors at school EVER have!! My daughter’s grades have drastically increased as well as her confidence which is the best part:)). Everyone there is friendly and always willing to help or accommodate changing schedules. My daughter found the review and test preparation crucial to helping her gain familiarity and confidence to take the ACT. She did well enough the first time but wanted to increase her score. The staff ere happy to help her with extra practices and a few other sessions at no extra cost to redo some extra lessons. We are so pleased with our sons experience with Huntington! He took the SAT without formal preparation and his scores were good, but not reflective of his GPA and ability. We enrolled him as soon as we could, but given how long we waited he was only able to do a partial prep course. Even with the partial course, his SAT score increased by 160 points!! Imagine if we would have started earlier! I totally recommend Huntington and recommend looking into it for your child between Sophomore and Junior year of high school. The scholarship money he has received has more than paid for the course!

Excellent coaching on SAT Test Prep. They armed my son with very good strategies for great results. Kurt is very forthright and frank in his approach and makes for a great coach/mentor for the kids.

Both of my children went to Huntington Learning Center of Carmel for SAT and ACT test prep courses. One child did a short period of review to increase test scores in specific areas while the second child did a full course review for all test areas. I am happy to say this was money well spent for both children. Each had a specific goal and BOTH achieved those goals getting into the college as well as specific program applied to!!! Highly recommend the HLC program!

Real results for our 2 elementary kids. Both are way ahead of where they would be without the tutoring. Specifically, they have really excelled with reading comprehension & inferences from Huntington; which is a critical skill set for them to improve, as it positively affects every subject. Something that will carry them into middle school. One of our kids is in challenge and the other just got place into challenge next year because of the skills learned.Enjoyed the monthly meetings to help us track their progression. Watch out for other tutors; they may know the subject, but may not be good teachers. Huntington had all certified teachers; a big deal for us.Highly recommend.

Huntington has been so helpful in getting our son caught up from an undiagnosed issue, and without them we wouldn’t have found it or had a plan.

The results were not as promised. Two children participated in different Huntington programs with the same outcome. Scores on standardized tests did not improve. I would recommend private tudoring - better results at a much lower cost.

All four of our children have used Huntington Learning Centers, two for HSPT and two for ACT Prep courses. Lindsay and Kurt do a wonderful job identifying the best test option for your student. In addition, Lindsay designs a well-planned program and schedule specific to your students needs, including practice tests to help prepare students in time for the test dates. They also make sure your child is paired with an instructor who specializes in the specific subject material and who will best fit your childs personality and learning style. Our high school students saw marked improvement in their scores from the initial practice test to the actual ACT and our two younger children scored the highest marks they could on the HSPT to earn academic scholarships at their high school. Huntington is a big financial investment, but we viewed it as a means to maximize the results for our children. The scholarships they received and the doors open to them because of high standardized test scores turned out to be a good return on our investment.

Ms. Linsay and her staff were A-1 in the mentorship of our daughter the time she was there. Some days were harder than others, but she learned so much and improved in numerous areas. Great environment, Great structure, Great staff/teachers, Great, Great, Great. Thank you Ms. Lindsay/Huntington for working with us and our daughter, we will Never forget it.

Turner first started at Huntington when he was in 3rd grade... he was not doing well academically. After just a few short months he was doing better in school. We continued tutoring in 4th grade where he received straight As. He is now in the 5th grade, still attending Huntington - typically top in his class and has all As.He is a lifer at Huntington as he now focuses on going to gain momentum for college testing and applications (he watches the high school children come and go for SAT prep!).Turner also plays travel basketball and they are so flexible in making sure he can fit tutoring in with his sports - they are truly supportive.
