I had a great experience with Lynn, I have thin fine hair, and its hard to find someone who can do my hair. I would recommend Lynn she is great!!

Lied about ability and experience, was told multiple times to leave hair long, butchered son’s hair because he didn’t like the style my son wanted. Son had been growing his hair our for over a year and now it looks like he was in an accident with a trimmer. The man that works there (Joe) doesn’t listen to anything his customers say and is completely dismissive and only knows how to cut hair in 1950. Do not go there if you want a style that is from this century.

I have been going to Hollywood Hair for years now and always receive professional courteous service! They take the time to listen to what you want and that is SO important when you ask to change things up!I always look forward to getting my hair done because I laugh and have great conversation the entire time I am there. Lynn, Katie and Laura are the stylists I am most familiar with. Keep doing what you do ladies, your the best!

I went to get my hair TRIMMED and highlighted on Friday by Carrie. Carrie was over a half an hour late to the appointment. She had me there for over 3 1/2 hours. She kept continuously going to the back taking personal phone calls and applying make up. The customer service was horrendous. My scalp and for head are burnt and hurt. My hair is orange and gray. I wanted dark brown auburn with bright blonde highlights . My trim turned into over 4 inches chopped off with uneven layers that I didnt ask for. I am not looking for comments or advise. Just giving a review.

A great salon. Very talented people who do a great job. An adult salon for the most part. Thank you Joe for the great job that you have done to keep me looking so good over these so many years. GBU.😉

Hollywood Hair Studios is a gem hidden in a strip mall. The atmosphere is inviting, and the friendly staff who work there are welcoming and have a range of knowledge. Best part about this hair salon, is that they have a range of skill and styles, so that any desired hairstyle can be achieved.

I recently went to this salon in hopes I getting a great haircut and left crying. I seen Carrie and would never recommend her services. My appointment was on a Friday and when I arrived I had to wait 15 minutes because she was not even in the salon. I got a full foil and a haircut and in the process I received 2 chemical burns from the foils sitting on my face, and she shaved my hair 2 inches above my hairline. The haircut is the worst I have ever had. She is very unprofessional and swears like a sailor. She should be ashamed to call herself a professional stylist.

Laura is the very best stylist ever! Ive been going to Hollywood Hair for cuts, color and up-dos since 1996---they are fantastic!Update: last week I went to Laura for my first ombre haircolor and it turned out so amazing! I just love it and have received a ton of compliments! You cannot ask for a better colorist in the Minneapolis area!

I have been going to Carrie Steinolfson for almost 8 years now. I’ve done almost every color in the book & pushes my hair too the limits but my hair has ALWAYS pulled through with no issues! I have gone completely blonde and had so many light tones in my hair I thought it was going to fall off but I always took good care of my hair which made it come back to life. I recently just got my hair done this month and wanted to make my hair more purple than it was when I got it done previously 2 months before, which I wasn’t worried about because I’ve done harsher colors with no issue!! Not only was there terrible customer service but my hair was BREAKING OFF IN CHUNKS!! MY SHOWER BECAME SO CLOGGED FROM HAIR MY WATER WOULDNT EVEN GO DOWN I JUST WANTED TO CRY!! My hair has NEVER been this damaged before and out of all my years going to her IVE NEVER gotten it cut because I like my hair long but due to her leaving me under the hooded dryer longer than I should have my hair is done for and now I have no choice but to cut my hair. This all happened at Carrie’s previous location the Le Beaute Salon and she got kicked out of her contract the NIGHT I got my hair done because the previous owner had to have her employees finish Carrie’s work!! I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING YOUR HAIR DONE WITH CARRIE STEINOLFSON!!!!!

I came in asking for a short pixie cut in order to remove an old dye job. Came out without the blonde (a pro), but also had the hair cut of an 80 year old lady all of the sudden. Usually with short pixie cuts, you use clippers, but the lady cutting my hair never used them. I didnt speak up about it because you dont want to piss off the lady with scissors near your face, and I was trying to be nice. Then, when I went to pay, hearing that it would be $28 came as a bit of a shock. The Fantastic Sams two doors down only charges $16. They explained that everyone who worked at Hollywood were an individually contracted stylist, which is posted NO WHERE on the premises. If I had known that, I would not have gone as typically a contracted stylist isnt quite as polished with their technique. I handed the lady my card, but then she informed me that they dont take debit or credit cards in any way. This was another thing that was posted NO WHERE in their store. In this day and age, thats ridiculous. She told me I could run down to an ATM (which I did, because Im not the type of person to stiff someone. Went to one at a Wells Fargo 6 miles away.) I came back, paid, left a minimal tip simply due to the inconvenience, then IMMEDIATELY went to the Fantastic Sams next door to correct the hair cut.I do not recommend this place. Its nice on the inside, but everyone comes out with the same hair cut Old Lady chic.
