This was our first event with Straton Hall and we were extremely happy with our daughters 1st baby shower. We needed an indoor venue for 50 people in the August heat, but we got so much more. The staff was welcoming and sometimes we didnt even know they were there, but things were taken care of. The atmosphere of the Top Loft was elegant with plenty of beautiful antiques. The food was prepared by an amazing chef taking in consideration of many dietary needs, such as no meat, no gluten, and no sugar. Everyone had a lovely time and the mother-to-be had the shower of a lifetime. Jay is a remarkable event planner and listened very well to create details to enhance the experience and make it more personal. You will not be disappointed if you choose to use Straton Hall.

I just attended a baby shower. The atmosphere is amazing, everyone was so kind and attentive that you truly couldnt find a better venue... and for a tea party/brunch the food was amazing! VERY impressed!

We were beyond pleased with Straton Hall Catering. We booked the beautiful venue, Cedar Lodge on Honey Creek. Several days later the Venue Director, Tiffany notified me that she was able to book Straton Hall for our daughter’s wedding. Honestly, we did not know anything about Straton Hall except Tiffany was very pleased that she was able to book them. We met Jay at our tasting and that’s when we understood Tiffany’s excitement. Jay made the entire experience fun. He was always upbeat and made all of us feel special. Our wonderful Wedding Planner, Anna of Swanson Signature Events, scheduled the tasting and gave Jay a list of the appetizers and entrees that we were interested in. We went to his restaurant in Brunswick. He had a beautiful private room upstairs and we tasted all of the wonderful food. Jay described everything as we ate and explained how it would be displayed. He made recommendations along the way as we discussed everything. We selected Fruit, Mushroom Brochette, Crab Cakes, Shrimp and Oysters as our appetizers. The Shrimp and Oysters were displayed beautifully and were prepared to perfection. Jay’s staff walked around serving the other appetizers while pictures were taking place. We are very picky about how our seafood is cooked and many times it is over cooked. Not with Straton Hall. We had a dear friend who always cooks seafood well. He made a special point to tell us Jay knew what he was doing. The seafood was great. As entrees we selected Shrimp and Grits and Maple, Pecan crusted Chicken. The chicken was great but his award winning Shrimp and Grits stole the show!! I have had so many people tell me how great all the food was and especially the Shrimp and Grits! Their next statement is always “Do you think Jay will share his recipe for Shrimp and Grits.” We also had his famous Macaroni and Cheese Station. A must have!! Everyone knows Jay by now. We have talked about him so much and everyone noticed how hard he was working during the wedding reception. Jay was very well staffed. He had lots of people with him working the reception. We consider Jay a special friend. Due to cancer my husband was unable to eat at the tasting and the night of the reception. Jay saved him a sample of all the food to freeze for later but my husband and I plan to go to Jay’s restaurant after he is well and order everything on our daughter’s menu. We are especially looking forward to seeing our friend Jay again. Clearly, I would recommend you book Straton Hall Catering. If they don’t have your date available, change your date.

Straton Hall is hands down THE BEST!! Not only did they make planning a wedding (from afar I might add) unbelievably easy, but they executed everything with such ease. I mean, how do you make it look as smooth as butter?! You hire Straton Hall!! We worked with Jay from the get-go, however, Stacy was our main man on the day of and it felt like we’ve been working with him from the beginning! That is customer service at its best!! I also need to add that we were very lax on details and only sent a few pics for them to go off of, but it was like they were in our heads! All the details were spot on, the floral arrangements were so beautiful, the aesthetic was true to our wants, and the service was top-notch! AND THE FOOD...all of our guest have raved about the food! I HIGHLY recommend setting your worries aside and hiring Straton Hall to take care of you and your partner on your special day! You will not regret it! When you have Jay and the rest of Stratton hall working for you, you dont have to worry about anything. These guys walk through the process with you every step of the way! They took a very large intimidating project and turned it into our dream wedding!!! Everything was PERFECT! From the food, to the decorations, to the flowers and of course the attentive service. I highly recommend using these guys for any type of event you may have. Theres no guesswork In this, you know when Stratton Halls handling your event, its going to be great!!

I cannot recommend Straton Hall Events enough. Stacey and Jay were such a pleasure to work with. I want to throw another party just so I can work with them again. When your wedding gets postponed because of COVID it can feel like a nightmare, but Jay was able to work with me and ensure even though my wedding was a year late it was the wedding I have always dreamed of. Jay scheduled as many calls as I needed to make sure all my questions were answered. All the staff were professional and attentive to my needs as well as the needs of my guests. When I tell you, I woke up on my wedding day and did not worry one time about whether my venue was setup or whether the food was there, I mean it. I did not have to worry about anything. The Straton Hall team are truly experts at weddings. They handled everything from my florals, to decorations, to food and furniture rentals and there was not a single flaw in the process. Once again, I whole heartedly recommend Jay and the Straton Hall team for your event.

Jay and the team at Straton Hall and gave us a wonderful experience during our year of planning. Our big day was perfect with Jay and Lulu covering florals, rentals, bar, and catering. We had a wonderful wedding experience with Stacy and his team! He was quick to respond whenever I had a question (which was fairly often :P) and made me feel at ease with decision making. Straton Hall went above and beyond to give us our dream wedding from obtaining a special permit needed, allowing my grandmother to bring in homemade cakes, and even providing extra glasses when I forgot to add them to our contract. Like any wedding there were small hiccups; out of our control; Stacy personally would find me throughout the wedding making sure I was comfortable and asking if I needed anything. When an issue was brought up Stacy was quick to resolve it without complaint. We are still receiving emails about the prime rib and how delicious is was! Weeks later, and my now husband and I are still talking about how perfect our wedding was everyday.

I attended the Last Night on the Titanic Dinner this past weekend at the Brunswick Manor. It was so much fun! It was educational and entertaining and the food was SO GOOD!! I had never had Pickled Quail Eggs before...they are delicious!! The menu was designed for the time period of the Titanic right down to the fruit centerpiece. Awesome and delightful!

WOW. Its hard to find words for how great Stacy and his team are. Usually, when someone wears a lot of hats, they do each task okay. Somehow, Straton Hall runs venues, does florals, catering, and event planning, and does each with extreme excellence. We have done countless weddings with the Straton Hall team and they never lack in any area. Food is SPOT ON and creative (request the three types of mac n cheese), the set up is on time and organized, they are super responsive leading up to events, florals are impeccable, events are fun and unique. THEY DO IT ALL!!!

The owner Stacy (as one of the other reviewers indicated) is NOT a nice person. We had a rehearsal dinner at Straton Hall. They only accounted for 2! sliders per person. They never told us there was such a small amount of food provided (especially at the prices!). The wedding party got food, and literally the entire rest of the family and friends just had salad and veggies. The poor staff were so nice, but they had no idea what to do. All we really wanted was an apology from the owner. It was very embarrassing. All he cares about is the money. He even made some nasty accusations to my Aunt about how she and I both worked on the event together (who cares?), about how we decorated, and that the event started late. Very disappointing. I never provided a budget for them, but he repeatedly blames me for the small amount of food provided. The other reviews below regarding the owners attitude when things so south are on-point.

This was my second time using Straton Hall and both times deserved a 5 star review. On both occasions they did exactly what I wanted. They allowed me to use outside vendors where i wanted on the first event and on the second they provided everything; food, flowers and wedding cake. I found everything to be perfect and I’m not entirely easy to please. I would definitely use them again.

I could not have picked a better company to work with. Stacy, Jay and his team are absolutely amazing. I was planning my wedding long distance and they were completely accommodating. They have great taste and years of experience. They listened to me and carried out the vision I had in mind in full. I would recommend them to anyone.

Stacy and Lulu did an amazing job planning my parents 40th wedding anniversary party. The food and the cakes were absolutely delicious. The table décor was simple and classic. All of our guests had the best time and we could not be more pleased with how it turned out.

It seems to me that you will only have a good experience working with Straton Hall Events if you use them to perform your entire wedding planning process. Unfortunately, they were a preferred contracted wedding vendor with my wedding venue. As they were the only vendor with a functional website at the time that I was choosing them, I made them my first selection. I was assured that they were the best in the state, that being said, I feel that I received subpar service because I wasnt one of their all-inclusive wedding brides, but just a client for a smaller project. It was impossibly hard to receive any e-mails and responses from them. I went months without ever hearing from them, and they were not proactive in the least bit in working with me. I supplied as many photos, examples, and descriptions of what I was looking for, however, they repeatedly refused up until the week of my wedding to supply any sort of photographs or confirmation that they understood what I wanted. Stacy, the owner, also called my husband, and aggressively and unprofessionally berated him, saying that he had never been so micromanaged before and that we needed to just trust them to do their job. That being said, the wedding day came, and I had never been so sorely disappointed in my life at my wedding florals. I repeatedly vocalized my concern to the florist and the wedding venue that I was concerned that they didnt truly understand my vision of what I wanted and what they were going to do on the day of if they did not deliver. Well, it turns out, they didnt deliver what I had asked for, not even close, and nothing was done. So now, I will for the rest of my life have wedding photos that I do not want because of the flowers that I never asked for that they told me to just trust them because Ill love them. The long and short of it is, even thinking back to all of the e-mails and conversations, the flowers dont look anything like the examples I submitted or the descriptions that I provided to them. I wanted them to submit representative examples of everything that I asked, and even then, they said that they took inspiration from those photos, and their inspiration and interpretation wasnt anything that I wanted in the end. It was so shocking to me that we had to have the wedding venue and other vendors that knew them to get involved before they would even respond to any e-mails or messages, and that when they finally did, they thought it was appropriate to speak so rudely to their clients. Overall, a shockingly dismal day.

I would highly recommend Stratton Hall in Brunswick for your event planning needs. My daughters wedding at the Historic Lighthouse in St.Simons was perfect. The reception was decorated beautifully, the staff was professional, the food was delicious, and the event execution was flawless. If you want to work with someone that you can simply explain your event vision to and then leave the rest to them....you can not go wrong with Stratton Hall. You will be thoroughly pleased with the end product!

I have hired Straton Hall twice (so far...), once for my rehearsal dinner and once for a corporate event. Both times they were absolutely WONDERFUL! I got a tip one time from another wedding vendor that I will keep at heart for forever - hire good vendors and then trust them to do their job. Dont nit pick or youll end up going crazy and hate the end result! Boy was she ever right! Hire someone great (Straton Hall), tell them your overall vision, and then let them lead the way. It leads to less work for you and a MUCH better result! They are the professionals and know how to make a vision work so much better than you do - haha! Oh my goodness...by the corporate event, I gave Jay a few thoughts and just let it happen. He exceeded my expectations!The rehearsal dinner was pretty straight forward, a traditional dinner. The food and service were excellent and we were so pleased! We got to enjoy that time with friends and family and didnt have to worry one bit about the details! Much appreciated!The corporate event was much bigger and much more complicated. It involved four setups, three locations, three different menus and a partridge in a pear tree. Each site (one several miles from the rest) needed different types of food and rentals different times throughout the same day, starting at breakfast and ending with a mid-afternoon snack. I needed a catering crew with a big staff, excellent time management and the ability to be flexible. The day went off without a hitch. The staff was calm and helped calm my nerves by just handling anything I threw at them. They were never frazzled, which lead to a much calmer day for everyone. I cant think of another local crew that could have handled so many balls in the air at one time. I was very, very pleased.I highly recommend Straton Hall for any size event, personal or corporate.

Straton Hall did NOT do what they said they were going to do for my wedding. They were very difficult to work with and did not communicate well at all. I emailed them numerous times without responses until AFTER supposed decision and money deadlines. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. We paid big money for a Shrimp and Grits STATION and a DESERT TABLE with my wedding cake and grooms pie and got a big bowl of grits with some seasoning and shrimp in it to where my guests had to serve themselves out of. They served the grooms pie on clear plates that we didnt need. (they knew I wanted to use the mismatched china that my family and I had either rented for the event or collected ourselves) They brought out cut slices and set them on random food tables When we cut our wedding cake. I also asked for a drink station with glass canisters with spouts people can turn of infused water/punch/ and tea and showed them multiple times pictures of what I wanted and got pitchers of water/tea with lemons cut up in them and one punch bowl. Jay and Stacy were both told likes and dislikes throughout the process and asked specific questions throughout that were promised and didnt happen. One example is the fact that I showed in person and thru email numerous times the photo of what I wanted my flowers to be and it literally took months for stacy to get it right. the first flower proposal had two types and colors of flowers. NOT AT ALL what the picture showed or what we talked about. Its very unprofessional for a company owner to promise a result and have their client pay for that result and not deliver it. we paid for one type of garland and got a completely different type with the type of eucalyptus I specifically asked them not to use.Unprofessional. Still dont know the cost of anything. Never got any prices for anything when we asked them for an itemized spreadsheet.my Aunt was possibly going to pay for my wedding cake and I asked them in an email (that I still have) how much it was for just that and told them she wanted to pay for it and NEVER got a response. We never got anything itemized out so its impossible to cut or narrow down any expenses if you are on a budget. Their proposals and flower spreadsheets are soooo completely unclear and all over the place. I honestly think they just randomely write in whatever price they want too with the flowers and charge ridiculous amounts for corsages and other things. They did a terrible job on purpose. There was also a conversation about using my grandmother pound cake recipe for my wedding cake in the very beginning talk/meeting with Jay in which I asked if we could use it bc it would mean a lot too me and was told YES. When it was brought back up he acted like he had never said they were doing that and that we had never talked about it. As far as decor goes in a first meeting at the venue sight I asked about having multiple chandeliers to hang in different spots around wedding/reception site. Was told yes yes yes. And were originally being charged $335 per chandelier (3 of them) when quoted $125per one in person; supposed to be placed in different areas; all above the cake table. (not what we talked about or what I asked for) thankfully I caught the extremely high rental charges for the chandeliers before we paid for anything.Those are just a few things we had to deal with. Not even the half of it. Its completely unprofessional and ridiculous that I had to basically do homework and go over the spreadsheet/food/rental proposals multiple times and make sure we werent being charged for crazy stuff. Also...the wedding coordinator, Heather that they recommended) really pressured my mom into getting) was completely RUDE! She was a total waste of money. So completely rude. Was rude to my bridesmaid as well. I shouldve asked her to leave. The wedding was very poorly done and they should be ashamed of themselves for doing that kind of a job. It only makes themselves look bad. I wouldnt recommend them to ANYONE EVER!

Very disappointed.I understand that Wormsloe Plantation State Park has decided to use Straton Hall as their vendor for booking weddings at Wormsloe.In November, I reached out to Wormsloe and explained I was having a elopement there, it would just be my fiance and I, and a reverend. We needed no facilities. I was quoted a price of the park entrance fee, and $40 for the photographer. I was informed that starting in September, Straton Hall would be the contact person to arrange for our 30 minute ceremony.Fast forward to September I left a online request on their website to be contacted. Then I called and spoke to someone, who said Jay would contact me.I called a few weeks later, because Jay never did contact me. I spoke with a nice enough women who said Jay was going to call me later that week. She mentioned that to get married at Wormsloe, the cost would be $500? What? $500 for what exactly? No member of Straton Hall would be present. We literally are showing up, getting married, and leaving 30 minutes later. I was interested to know if that $500 gives me private use of the park, or came with anything else. I was told Jay would contact me to discuss this.It is now the second week of October, and Jay has not called me. I dont know if its because I am not spending more money with them, or if they do not want to deal with such a small request. I am sending my letter of complaint to Wormsloe as well, I think they should reconsider their contract.As a bride who is planning an out of state wedding and therefore, is trying to get things booked earlier. my experience with Straton has been very poor.
