Worst experience ever for car rental! This location charged $200 for interior cleaning, claiming there was dog hair in the car, despite the fact wed NOT had ANY pets in that vehicle! Complete racket to try and bilk people out of extra funds. The only thing they were going to have to do was vacuum the dirt off the floors when we returned this (not mud, just usual pine needles and dirt from shoes). Felt more incensed at the fact this car wasnt properly cleaned and only had a half tank of gas when we picked it up. Nobody had been at the location at drop off (though they were supposed to be), so didnt find out about this charge until after the fact. Unhelpful when I called them directly. Had to go through Hertzs 800-number for billing. Huge hassle and frustration, but at least they were more pleasant to deal with and reversed the charge. Will NEVER use this location again, and recommend others go elsewhere.

Customer service was not satisfying at all. I waited to be helped for a good 15 minutes which wasnt a problem but when I got to the gentleman to be helped, the phone rang and he decided to help that person over the phone while I was waiting in front of him.Also I had this car for a month, and hertz wont put in floor mats in the rental which lead me to have some dirt on the floor.After the rep checked the floor of the vehicle he wanted to charge me $100.00 for a cleaning fee. I took the car myself and cleaned it.

This location informed us the morning of the reservation that they dont have the car. They also had no alternative option despite sending the confirmation email the day before. When asked why we didnt receive advance notice Nick told us the phone call was the notice. Truly subpar service.

I reserved the car before I came from MA. They really followed on my request to clean/disinfect the car at least a few hours beforehand since I have allergies to chemicals used in cleaning surfaces. The car was clean, well aired, no residue of any chemical smells. The even bigger surprise was that they gave me a better and bigger car than what I originally reserved. I was very happy with the service they provided and the product: the rental car. (Both staff members were very polite and helfpul.) Also, their price was lower than the prices offered by other rental places I researched ..... I was very satisfied with the place.

Got stuck with a Hyundai Veloster for my economy car. Wreaked of smoke, trunk doesnt work, blind spots are literally the worst ever... turning on your blinker and hoping for the best is the better option when switching lanes. Cant see out the back window unless youre a certified midget. Gets stuck in first and over-revs when you have to get on it. Older guy at the counter griped about his boss John. No wonder this company filed for bankruptcy.

I am bringing to attention a major public health and safety issue that was presented to my family and the manager has refused to rectify the situation.On June 17th, 2020, I went to pick up my rental from Hertz at the Broomfield, Colorado location. I waited an additional hour past my pick up time to wait for the vehicle to be cleaned. I returned home with the vehicle, my husband packed the car for our short family getaway and my children were hanging out in the vehicle as they were excited to go. It was then that several injection needles, multiple batteries, a straw with the end burned off, a cigarette lighter charger, a magnet, a tupperware container and foil were discovered in the front console of the vehicle. Mind you my children, ages 5 and 3, were spending time in the rental with the needles present which I would hope anyone can empathize with how infuriating that is as a parent. Since such an obvious place that should have been inspected upon the return of the vehicle had needles in it, the thought that there are others in the car that we are unaware of is an additional concern. A concern that a customer should not have. I contacted the Hertz location immediately once it was found and no one answered. The manager contacted me back approximately 30 minutes later once we were already on the road and requested that we have the vehicle switched out with a replacement vehicle, which the manager chose a Tahoe I sent a photo to the manager and we removed the drug paraphernalia from the car for the safety of ourselves and our children. The manager stated that he would work on compensation due to the serious hazard and negligence this posed for our family and appeared to be concerned. Since returning the vehicle on June 20, 2020, I had not heard a response back from the manager. It is absurd that not only did I have to wait an hour for the vehicle to be cleaned but that fact that my children found needles in the car is a major liability. I understand that mistakes happen. However, if my children got a needle stick from this vehicle and contracted a disease this situation would be escalated even further. I gave the manager the opportunity to contact me by the end of the business day, 6/22/2020, but had not heard from him. I emailed Hertz and they simply said they will mail a $50 customer service certificate. On 6/26/2020, I drove to the location to speak with the manager who proceeded to tell me that my compensation was the upgrade to a different vehicle despite that not being our request and additionally we were charged about 3x the amount I agreed to. The manager refused to rectify the situation and had a completely different demeanor. Not only has Hertz posed a serious health risk to my family but clearly did not clean the vehicles to standard let alone standards during a pandemic. Avoid this location at all costs. After reaching out to upper management, they were extremely appalled by the managers behavior and offered to rectify the situation. I appreciated the effort of upper management and communication once I figured out who to directly speak with.Interestingly enough, like other customers experience, I was also charged a fee for excessive pet hair. This seems to be a go to to attempt to recoup financial loss. However, if the customer service was what it used to be a few years ago they wouldnt be as concerned about taking advantage of customers.Update: I have rented from other Hertz locations since this incident and have had positive experiences, both in the state of Colorado and out of the state.

Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with a rental car company. No windshield wiper fluid, and when they said they would reimburse me for a car wash, they would not. Associates were condescending and lied about their policy. Do not use this location and save yourself the headache.

Horrible customer service, the rental provided was filthy and had a ding in the door. Took it back right after they dropped it off. Total miles traveled 3miles and they asked if I filled the gas I used..! This place is straight trash, save you time and money and go elsewhere.

We returned our rental to this location, we were charged the $300 cleaning fee because they said it had excessive pet hair! LIES! We did had a pet but we vacuum the entire car upon returning it. We won the dispute and got our money back. Later on I read the other reviews of people being charged the same fee and they didn’t even had pets with them. They are not running a business they are running a scam. Like many others go to the Arvada location! They are nice, my car was ready to go and no additional charges of any kind was added to my final bill.

My negative experience with this Hertz location started immediately. When I arrived, it took 40 minutes for them to get my car ready, supposedly they were cleaning it. I had an advance reservation and they absolutely should have had a car ready for me.When I got into the car, it immediately it smelled of smoke,. I realize I could have said something right away but I didnt have another 40 minutes for them to prep a different car, so I just took the car as-is.I had the car for 9 days and drove it maybe 10 miles total due to the stay-at-home order in my state. When I was ready to return it, I confirmed there was the option to leave the car at the body shop where I was having work done on my car (the whole reason for needing the rental). I chose this option to avoid having to go into the retail location and unnecessarily come into contact with more people.I had called earlier to be sure they knew the smoking was not me, so that I wasnt charged for it. About an hour after I dropped the car off, I got a call where they wanted to report I left excessive dog hair in the car. I didnt have a dog in the car once, and I seriously drove the car a total of like 30 minutes over the 9 days I had it.I almost feel like they had to have checked in the wrong car for me, as I didnt notice any dog hair when I picked it up. But whatever, I knew it wasnt me either way. The guy left it with something like well ok, I guess well take it from here. Well thats vague.I was trying to do the right thing by limiting exposure at the Hertz counter for my drop-off, but because I wasnt there when they took access of the car, I feel like it left me at a disadvantage. I could have showed them the car was perfectly clean and barely driven.I will file a formal dispute if I do not get my security deposit back, just a bad experience all around.

This place is an absolute racket. Never rent, or even return your car here. They come up with exorbitant fees if your car is not spotless upon return. I was charged $300 for some hair left over from my service animal which they claim was excessive but I have never been charged from any other agency and I rent cars about every other week. $300 to clean some pet hair is an absolute scam, it would have taken 5-10 minutes at most to clear it out with a vacuum. I cant imagine what other schemes they have going on at this business. Save yourself hassle and money and do not come here. Trust me.

If you go to Hertz, the one in Arvada has great customer service. But the people at this one were cold and very unhelpful :( I also dont normally leave bad reviews. We booked a rental online and when we got there we had to wait 20 mins before anyone showed up, there were 2 ahead already waiting for someone to come to the desk. After finally being helped they said oh were booked, nothing we can do. I explained that we had booked online and took a Lyft all the way there, he had no compassion and wouldnt even look at me. Wouldnt call another location or do anything at all to help. Just strange that you can book online and then get there and get turned away. We had taken a 15 minute Lyft and then had to take a Lyft to Arvada, where luckily they were very nice and accommodating.

My experience here was awful! My car was not ready at the set time. When my car was ready, I found it was dirty on both the inside and out. They did not have the information on file that was given from my insurance company, and instead of offering to resolve it on the spot with my insurance company, made me charge my card for reimbursement later. They wanted to give me the vehicle with 1/4 tank of gas, asking if that was ok. They did not do a damage check with me, until I spoke with the Manager requesting this, as the car was full of scratches and peeled paint. Both the Agent and the Manager were quick to give excuses about how busy they were and short staffed (repeatedly) and both were barely able to squeak out an apology. NEVER going back here again!! The gentleman who was ahead of me had a similar experience. Its clear the customer experience is not a priority here.

Take care if you get your vehicle discounted through your insurance. Thatll make using any services through their 1 800 number impossible. Road side assistance? Nope cant help you. Extend your contract or change the drop off location? The hertz customer service reps will have their hands tied.

I called this location after trying to get a rental after an accident. They called me back two days later 6 minutes before close. I call back the next day and they have limited staff and no vehicles. They say theyll schedule a drop off for 10am the next day and the manager should be in. I call in at noon. The manager isnt there and the only vehicle they have is a cargo van. Im unsure how theyre allowed to operate like this. A week and four incompetent people later, Im still without a car. Just dont bother.

I just needed to tell someone I needed to be picked up and they needed to put me on hold for over 10 minutes until I gave up and called back and was able to tell someone immediately that I was ready for my pick up. It was a busy Monday, so I can understand. The staff were really courteous and helpful for being so busy!

Extremely friendly staff. No wait coming or going. Pleasant surprise to find the satellite radio working on my Ford Focus. Car was spotless. No long walk to car...just adjacent to their front door. Staff knowledgeable on all of the vehicles. Been a Gold Member for decades. This may be the first time I actually got true Gold service. Note to Hertz: Treat this staff well. Its still shocks me when a company actually delivers what they promise.

My truck I just rented smelled like marijuana terribly. They offered a 5% discount on my rental even though they charge $500 for smoking in the vehicle. They tried to charge me extra for additional days. This is by far the worst car rental agency on the front range.

My truck broke down so I came in today to get a loaner. They didnt have the car I reserved when I arrived. Also didnt state anywhere online that if you are paying with a debit card that you must make a reservation 24 hours in advance. If I would have know either of these things I could have planned accordingly. Thanks for wasting my time and my money and making a bad day that much worse!!!

Absolutely terrible experience. The manager Stefan does not care about the safety of their customers. The car we had asked for was an economy, which was fine. But the cars defroster is not made for Colorado weather! Had to literally scrape ice off the inside of the car. For it also being an economy car, the gas mileage was terrible! Only got 24mpg with a Nissan Versa. We expressed our concerns to Jeff once we returned it and he showed no care in the world. Will not be using hertz ever again for renting cars. We will stick to enterprise!

Hertz: No guarantee youll get your booked carI arrived at the Airport in Denver (6/17/2018) at Hertz car rental to pick up the car I had booked in advanced. My mood: jubilant. My mission: to see and photographed the Rocky Mountains (I paint natural areas from my photos) and stayed at one of my favorite hotels in the area. Here is a detour from my California vacation where I had just spent two glorious weeks. But man was I in for the shock of my life when I arrived at the Hertzs desk.Immediately, the middle age woman snickered at me, Did you booked your returned flight back as the gentleman asked? She was referring to her co-worker with whom I already made an attempt with to get my car but was told by him to, Book a flight now! I stepped to the side and booked a flight even though I wasnt sure how long I will be staying in Colorado. Without a minute to spare, I booked a random flight back to get my car. Now we are with the lady. I provided my card (debit) and drivers license. Another co-worker said, So many people in town.... the cars are all gone. Oh yeah, replied my attendant. Mr. so and so (name withheld for obvious reason) needs a car. Then, she turned back to me and threw my card on the desk between us and said That card is no good! We will not accept it! Excuse me, I said; confused. Yeah, it doesnt have your name on it. Oh, I said. Its a bank issued debit card. I used it the whole time in California to get my car, in restaurants, and to check-in two hotels (in Los Gatos and Lake Tahoe, respectively). They will accept anything there, they want the money! Now, I am thinking I am in the twilight zone. Unreal. Okay, here is one with my name on it, I said.She looked at me as if I was an alien. By this time, I knew I was in big trouble. If you dont understand that I cant accept your cards let me give you to my manager, then. She snapped and walking away. I am not helping you today. Lady over here! The last part, she echoed because I stood there stunned. I figured I better get moving and hurried after her. Since I am from the Caribbean, I was happy that the manager was of African American decent (no harm intended here. But you see by now I really, really needed a lifeline...anybody. Please. Help. Me.) Big mistake on my part. My first attendant proceeded to say to her (Manager), remember Mr. so and so needs a car. And they are almost gone. Manager then asked me, what is your credit score?Mine? I moved here (to United States a year now. Never checked it.)We need your permission to check it.Go aheadThere will be no car for you today.Alamo, I used in California was out of cars. I called. All gone. Most of the agencies had none, either.I was stranded (trust me, not a good feeling).I sat for a couple hours hurt, confused but most importantly flabbergasted at the treatment pelted out to be by Hertzs people. It almost feels like dream. Not real at all!Finally, I gathered myself and took a taxi to the Westminster area and checked into a hotel here. A beautiful first-rated hotel, I see. Without the car I had booked, I am not able to venture far from the airport or get to my original destination/hotel. This is a confession, when I walked into the new hotel I was mesmerized by its plush interior and worried that they will reject me and my card(s). But I braved it. Walked to the counter and asked for a suite (I needed it). The young lady kindly said, Sure, may I have your credit card and ID, please?Debit card, I mumbled; half afraid of what she might say.Sure, came her answer.She entered my information. My worse experience trying to rent a car. Took 3 days and 5 phone calls to figure out that I was not going to get one that I could fit in. Had to walk home and to the Hertz office. They could not void my information out of their system. I had to go through my insurance to cancel it.

I always rent cars thru Enterprise but was referred to Hertz by State Farm after an accident. My insurance covers $16/day and I was told I would have to pay 79 cents out of pocket each day to cover taxes which I agreed to. They neglected to tell me that I should register the car on my toll account and twice we forgot we didnt have the transponder and ended up being charged for tolls. That would have been okay but the company they use to process the tolls charged an additional $25 service fee so I ended up with $42 in charges! When I complained, the only response I received was its in the contract you signed. I was told by an E470 toll employee that rental companies are supposed to tell you about registering when you get the car. I also found they continued to place holds for a total of $69 on my credit card AFTER the car was returned! After talking to them several times, I finally ended up calling my credit card company and they removed the holds! Needless to say I will be going back to Enterprise should I ever need to rent a car again - the great deal Hertz supposedly provides to State Farm customers ended up costing me more than I saved!

I rented a midsize car on Hotwire for $169.00 for a week from Pittsburgh International Airport for May 6th thru May`13th at around 3:30. Mr. Frank tried to change me for insurance with road side assistance and a commercial rider that I told him that I already had. The bill showed $530 when all I need to do was pay the $200 security deposit and I was holding the receipt for the Hotwire payment. I think he thought he could pull a fast one on a Woman. I do not appreciated this kind of professional from any business. I will not be using Hertz anytime soon.
