The customer service level of this company was EXTREMELY low in my opinion. They have poor business systems that are 100% designed to favor their own company and have little regard or flexibility for supporting actual needs of their customers. I would NEVER use this company again. However, since they were represented as the only company I could work with to execute warranty service work on my Kenmore Elite refrigerator, I knew I had little recourse. They should receive only 1 STAR as a company, but that would be unfair since most of the technicians that arrived at my house were friendly and helpful. Thus the 2 STAR rating. It is clear to me that the leadership of this company has little understanding of how their internal processes disappoint and frustrate their customers. Had I not been forced to deal with them, I would have found another company that would have been better to work with. In my opinion, that would not be hard to find.

I had to wait almost a month for a repair! The fridge wouldnt get cold so I lost everything that was in it. You should not have to wait that long to get a serviceman to come in...and I have a warranty. I will definitely think about renewing my warranty.

Our technician was timely, polite, and efficient. Quickly diagnosed the problem, had a colleague deliver the part to the house while he made another call on the east side and returned an hour later and solved the problem. A++

I had a treadmill that needed repair. A technician came to the house to diagnose. A part was ordered to arrive at my home and a follow up appointment was made for approximately two weeks later to replace said part. I received a call several days later notifying me that the part was on backorder. I was understanding due to COVID I received no follow up for over a month so I began calling the 1-800 customer service number. In the meantime, the treadmill motor completely stopped working so the part I had ordered would not have been useful. I ordered another treadmill from a different company. I called the Sears 1-800 number no less than 15 times between Feb and May. I attempted to cancel the part at least as many times. Each time I called I got some story ranging from “we have no record of you cancelling the part” to “you will be refunded within 7-10 days”. I received emails, was given addresses to email myself (when I attempted to reply it said I was blocked), etc. I literally spent hours of my time over the last 6 months trying to cancel this part and get a refund. Mind boggling. There is no store to visit to get real customer service and I was unable to ever speak to the actual technician that came to my home. There is only the 1-800 number which puts you in contact with someone that has a script that they read from (clearly not based in the US) and no record of your previous calls so it is like starting from square one each time. If you do want to speak to the technician you have to book an at home appointment and are charged $100 fee over the phone. No thank you. Additional money I know I will never see again. I could go on but in conclusion, I was forced to claim a dispute with my credit card company to get refunded. Never again will I deal with Sears and I will spread the word to all I know that are thinking of having home repair of appliances done to steer clear. Other than the technician who came to my home who seemed fine, this was a horrific experience. How was my experience from my repair done on Jan 21st? The fact that you don’t even know it was never completed sums it up.

Had a leaking washer and off Kilter. They repaired the off-kilter but the leak is worse; now coming from the front of the Washer and not just the side like it was when I called for repair.Not happy with the result.

I was grossly overcharged for the service. I didn’t mind paying for the part or for travel, but I was charged over $300 for less than 30 minutes of labor. I called their customer service line multiple times and the customer service people agreed that my bill should be reduced. However the change was never made on my credit card. I paid $568 for a $150 part and 26 minutes of labor. Ridiculous.

I have a water heater that is leaking . It is under extended warranty that I purchased. The repair man came out and confirmed this, took a number of pictures and sent them in foe review by Sears and told me they would get back to me.. Four days later I am still waiting and the water heater is still leaking. No one answers the phone after sitting on hold for over 2 hours. Sears is pretty much out of business. I feel sorry for all of us that still have their products and need repair. No need to reach out now. If I had waited for you I still would have no hot water. I had to buy a new one and pay for installation while my Sears warranty was still in effect. I wish you would man your phone lines instead of the internet 6 mos. Later

Ive never been treated this poorly by Sears before. I have their Protection Agreement on my refrigerator so I need to use them for repairing my cooling issue. I reported that my fridge wasnt cooling properly in early June. Since then ive spent at least 10 hours on the phone counting hold times to schedule appointments. Im told they only have one contractor for Madison, WI area. Hes a nice guy but hes stumped.Ive got my food in a cooler with ice in my barely cool fridge.I called on Sunday and they agreed to escalate through their channels to get me a Sears tech. Here it is late Tuesday and I havent heard anything from them. Now with the holiday upcoming, Im looking at almost a month of a broken fridge. Luckily the freezer has been working so we can defrost some things.

He needed to order parts after the first visit and there were about 7 boxes of parts in my foyer so I was concerned it may not go well. It wasn’t a simple fix It took him over an hour. I was told when i signed up for appointment that your service people carried parts on the truck. This was not the case. The technician was helpful but I would now need to take another day off work to get the unit fixed. I ordered part and replaced it myself and the dryer still heats and shuts off quickly. I am not sure what he told me was wrong was the problem.

My refrigerator was leaking water into the body of the unit. A service person came out, did not replace any parts and simply poured hot water into the unit to thaw a clog they say existed for the water line and in the freezer. Worked great with no leaks until 4 months later and now I have water building up in the refridgerator again. Of course I figured there had to be a guarantee for such a short period of time but find out they only stand by the work for 90 days. Crazy to spend a couple hundred dollars on service that only lasts me a few months without a real fix. Not happy.

The technician showed up! Had a hard time placing the new door. Asked me to the hold the door. I just got out of the hospital and I’m on blood thinners and wouldn’t listen.Then he got a phone call from a girl friend or family member and started discussing some deal! He asked who ever was on the phone save some food I’m almost done.... then he says he’ll I’m going to Finnish what I’m doing and then in sick or a family emergency an they’ll cancel the rest of the day!About a month ago that is exactly what happened when sears called and said the technician just called in sick!!!! Very pleasant experience. They fixed multiple issues on my snowblower. The only improvement opportunity I suggest is in the scheduling software not for the repair technicians. I think that a 2 hour window would be preferable to a 4 hour window in order to allow one to plan their day more efficiently.

The service man was very pleasant and courteous. However, we are still having the same problem. The washer gets to its spin cycle and does not empty out the water. This problem has only in the past three of four months cropped up--prior to that we had no problems with the machine.We will have to reschedule yet another visit from the repair man because the washer in not working properly.

Service technician was great. He came out. Tested the fridge. And came back the next day to replace the compressor. But after two appointments, the fridge is still not fixed and still isnt working with the new parts. And we have to wait over a week for them to come back out to even take another look. Weve been with out a fridge for two weeks. They didnt call to check in to see if the repair was even working. Disappointed in the customer service. Not the trchnician.

This is the second time in three years that my Kenmore dishwasher needed a new control panel. It took over a month and 4 service trips to get it right this time. That is actually an improvement over the first time it was down. The technician was great but the system of having parts shipped independently is a disaster.I will not be buying another Sears appliance.

The telephone and chat support was nonexistent, so I had to have tech(s) come to my house. I was told that the solution I requested was impossible, but they proceeded to make an adjustment that I could have done myself if online or phone support was available. I was told the service call fee would be subtracted from the labor, but this was not the case. Also, one of the techs put my riding mower in freewheeling mode and did not put it back in driving mode. Since I had not had to do that since the mower was new, I had to look up in the manual how to reverse it. I would not recommend Sears home service to anyone.

Great experience, Reuben did a great job finding the problem and was very courteous with answering our questions, unfortunately it was not fixable and we needed a new washer. We have a Maytag that was only 8 years old and the cost of repairs was so astronomical that it didnt make sense.Im surprised at the lack of longevity for appliances, in the past weve had washers and dryers that have lasted well past 10 years. I believe they can manufacture appliances that can last longer, there are only two of us and this seems so out of sort for such a brand name.

Excellent Service! It took 2 visits. The problem with the stove was resolved on the first visit; but the control panel cover was marred when it was removed and a replacement had to be ordered. The second visit was a week later; and the technician applied the new panel cover.Both repair technicians were professional and courteous.

I have a warranty on my range so I had no choice but to use Sears. I am a healthful cook and use my oven on a daily basis. The computer board went on the blink so I called for an appointment; which was a week out. The technician came to check the situation. He ordered the part and set me an appointment for 2 weeks out. He came to replace it on Monday morning and was very efficient. However, either the part is faulty or he hooked it up incorrectly because the control keeps shutting off--even in the middle of baking! It turns back on eventually but not always quickly. I called Sears immediately when I noticed it on Monday and they said service would call me back in an hour, which they did not. So I called again and they told me service would call, which they did not. I got a hold of a supervisor in the afternoon and he guaranteed a phone call, even gave me his badge #. No call. I got a hold of someone Thursday morning, who ultimately helped and offered me a small compensation for my troubles but it will still take another week for the repair man to come out and they will order a new part and take another couple weeks after that. The measly $50 they offered me does not cover the inconvenience of over a month trying to cook for a family of 8! If not for my warranty, I wouldnt use Sears.

Bad communication, over charged.When I signed up for text notification, I thought it would be perfect for letting me know when some one was coming, between 8 and 1. Instead Sears called my home, that thankfully was forwarded to my cell, because i wasnt home. They tell me that they have a tech on the phone that needs to talk to me, OK, odd they called when I signed up for a text. He said he would arrive in two hours. Ten minutes later there was a knock at the door, it was a different technician than the one that called. Here is about to start when I mention the Call from some one else. He ends up leaving, and I have to wait for the other tech to arrive. He ends up not doing a complete diagnosis, and charges me for two thermostats instead of just replacing the bad one. Find a local repair service.

Although it took two trips to fix my issue with my refrigerators ice maker dispenser, both repair men were professional. The first repair man really knew his stuff and was able to do a temporary fix until the parts required arrived. He talked to me about how the parts should be installed if he was not the one to return and replace the broken part. The second repair man was able to get the new parts in place and listened to me when trying to get to the area where the broken parts were. All in all, both of the repair men allowed me to watch and ask questions about the repair process. The only negative is that it took longer to get the parts (not Sears fault) to fix the ice maker than it did to actually fix the ice maker.

We discovered our water heater went out on a Sunday. We scheduled a visit for the next day, and determined it was the pilot light that needed to be replaced. We were told that it would be Thursday before the replacement part would be installed, because of the warehouse being in Texas. We are in Wisconsin.As it turns out, the part was delivered early, and the repairman came and installed everything on Wednesday. The repairman was also able to get our part covered under warranty.Overall, the service was great. The time it took was painful - no hot water

Trying to get my dryer fixed using Sears has been the worst experience. I will never use their services again, nor purchase anything from Sears again.. My first appointment was accidentally cancelled by customer service because it was put under the wrong number. When I re- scheduled for the next day because there werent any technicians available the day I originally scheduled, the technician didnt come to the front door and ring the door bell, he went directly to the side door (and did not knock or use the bell) and left a card saying I needed to reschedule...even though an adult was in the house waiting for the technician to show up between the designated time. When I called after seeing the reschedule card, the customer service person said someone would be contacted to come back that day. ..an hour later and no one showed up so I called. The customer service person said the technician wasnt coming back (but didnt bother to let me know). When I said that was unacceptable, the customer service person said the technician was done with his route for the day in Brentwood, Tenn... I live in WISCONSIN! when I said I needed to talk with a supervisor, it took 5 minutes to transfer me...then the supervisor HUNG UP ON ME (and never bothered to call me back!)! I guess that is SEARS rendition of customer service! I will never use them again. I am going with a different family owned business Tuesday. Maybe their poor customer service is why they are closing most of their stores? and I would have said NO stars but they dont let you post unless you have at least one star...

If I could give zero stars, I would. The first tech that came out diagnosed the issue, said he had to order parts. The second tech came and said the first guy failed to order a part they also needed, so he had to order something else. The bill for the repair was going to be over $600, the machine is less than 3 years old and cost me $799. I told him he could go, I would take it up with Samsung. He used me a credit for the part I had already paid for. Samsung sent a tech out, neither one of the Sears techs had diagnosed the problem correctly. A month later and Im still waiting for my refund from Sears. Next call is going to be to the BBB, this is ridiculous.

This is to continue my previous review - hopefully to be completed before it times out again.With the tech saying he could not get the signal he needed to connect to his platform, i hesitated to take a chance on having it not work if he did move the truck closer; so, i reluctantly agreed to accompany him to the lobby with my credit card. After he stopped at his truck, we sat in chairs across from each other in an enclosed sitting area inside the lobby as he entered info on his laptop. It felt awkward. I was concerned my private info may be vulnerable as he processed my payment in an open space without secure wi-fi, with residents and visitors walking by. On ahome svc call one expects a technician to complete all the work, including on a computer, in the privacy of the customers home, not in a lobby. The tech did not manage his time efficiently. He arrived unprepared to complete work on the laptop. I cannot understand why, if he knew hed later need a signal supplied by the truck, he would not have done something to enable that the 1st time down at the truck. I could understand having to return to a truck for materials unexpectedly once -- but then a 2nd time, to enable a computer connection -- that was simply due to a lack of preparation.At the point he could not get a connection, he appeared to have mentally already packed his gear, ready to head out the apt door, only waiting to convince me to come with to wrap things up. And, as soon as i agreed to, he actually was out the door. He never thought to replace an aluminum panel from the freezer he removed to inspect coils underneath to show dust collected, explaining it was likely contributing to the issue. He left the panel and dirty insulation from behind it lying on the floor. Suddenly getting to the truck became the highest priority. When i asked if he was finished in the apt he said he was. Writing his techs comment in the lobby he appeared by then detached from the diagnosis, and his note somewhat superficial based on what was already discussed.Considering we paid $75.19 ($89 w 20% coupon) i expected a customer experience of the quality Ive come to expect from Sears Home Svcs. I expected an opportunity to confirm all of my questions were answered, a verbal summary of the findings, and a recommendation.Additionally, when i initially opened the apt door, the tech was wearing dark sunglasses, and i could not make eye contact until he removed them while we were in the kitchen as i was describing the issues. They seemed so unnecessary. Hed said next to nothing at the door, not even to identify himself. I said hello and moved out his way to let him enter the foyer, and he walked past without saying a word. It was up to me to say something if there was to be any conversation, so i introduced myself, and something like you must be Tony to which he said something like, how are you doing.. a long pause, then youre having a problem with your refrigerator, and we proceeded into the kitchen. The dark glasses made me feel uncomfortable while speaking with a stranger in my home.Id prepared a short page of written notes describing events leading up to the cooling issue but never got a chance to finish going over them, as he seemed distracted and uninterested, then interrupted by a connectivity issue effectively ending the visit. Im sure this tech has the training and certification to perform the work. He made 2 essential points that, for me, would fulfill the basic requirement. He knew the inside of the fridge. He sounded knowledgeable in the chemistry + mechanics of refrigeration, and recycling. Although in these other aspects of the job it appeared perhaps additional training might be in order.Heres my recommendation: Before Sears sends him to anyones elses home, provide him with additional training on the laptop as to how to access a signal from INSIDE an apartment. Explain the importance of preparation. Provide tips on simple interpersonal skills + communication etiquette that most customers expect. --LN
