I found a bucket of nails in my car after Jon repaired it.edit: You probably just deleted the invoice. Nails are very dangerous to cars and people. The shame is entirely on you.

John at Grizzly Garage is extremely knowledgeable with all things Subaru. Not only that, but he is fair, honest, and reasonable. If youre looking for a mechanic you can trust come to Grizzly Garage. He walked me through every fix he did and was happy to show me parts to further help me understand what went wrong. He answered my questions and made me feel welcomed and heard. I am disappointed in myself for not coming here sooner.

We bought a car from this place and on the way home the check engine light came on. My husband contacted them multiple times and they continue to give him the run around. We have had the car about a week and there are multiple codes being thrown and now it has an antifreeze leak. I understand it is a used car but they claimed to have fixed all of the issues. This is not a good way to make a good name for yourself.

I bought a 2006 sti off of jon. He was more than willing to let me test drive it without him to see the vehicle. The problem we had with the car he fixed in 30 minutes (it was just wipers) then all paperwork was fast and easy. And the title came in within 3 day! He also sent me a tee shirt and stickers. Very good price, great guy, knows what he is talking about. I reccomend him heavily to anyone looking for or needs work on a subaru. If I could have given him 10 stars I would have!

Its difficult to find, but its worth it.Jon Walas and his team did an admirable job repairing my Subaru. I needed new head gaskets (common problem, big job) and the work was done in a very reasonable amount of time for a very fair price. They didnt bullsh¡t me - I provided lots of my own parts for the job and they did everything the could to make my experience a good one. Thanks Jon, cheers

I bought a used car from Grizzly Garage and am horrified at their repair work. They advertised it with the head gaskets, timing belt, water pump, and thermostat replaced with all OEM parts. The car was smoking after they put it together and they thought it was a fueling issue because of a fuel level indicator check engine light. The oil was overfilled as well, something I should’ve payed more attention to. I purchased the car knowing it would be a project, but wow, I don’t think anyone could do much worse than these guys did. Let’s begin.Once I got it back, I changed the oil and drained 12 quarts out. The engine is only meant to hold 4.5. I fixed the smoking problem, only to find an engine knock. It’s my educated guess that they overfilled the crankcase so much that it hid the actual problem.Over 35% of every bolt that’s needed to hold the engine together or in place was loose or striped out. This includes the following important bolts: 3 bell housing bolts, 2 oil pump bolts, 2 timing belt pully/gear bolts and a single water pump bolt. I counted 10 different holes where the threads were gone.Nearly every gasket/oring was reused with RTV applied except for the head gaskets and possibly the valve cover gaskets. They did replace the head gaskets as was advertised. There was already a coolant leak coming from the water pump and an oil leak from the behind the timing cover. The water pump and thermostat weren’t new. In fact, the water pump is about ready to fail. The timing belt was replaced at some point with a napa belt, otherwise, the other timing components looked original. Also, the hydraulic timing belt tensioner was either bad, or improperly bled because the belt was too loose. Way too loose. Valve clearances were very far out of spec as well.Even though they never told me they accessed the bottom end, I found more of the same as above. The knock sensor was 60 degrees off and the case halve bolts were not installed with the sealing washers inside the cooling jackets. In addition, RTV was on not applied in the correct spots on the case halves. They do know how to seal an oil pan though!Grizzly Garage lied to me about the root problem, lied to me about the parts that were replaced, and put the engine together with no regard to the next guy. I’m not sure if they are that bad at mechanical work, or if they put it together like this on purpose. Either way, it’s bad and they deserve a 0 star if possible.
