I called American for help with my AC which was working intermittently. Jose arrived at the agreed time, was very polite and professional. He spent almost an hour diagnosing the issue and helped me understand all the parts that led to this conclusion. I would recommend Jose and American if you need help with your AC issues!

Excellent after hour service. My Air Conditioner is fixed..

Tech was an hour plus behind the arrival window... As in 4-6 became 7:30.Replaced a part to make the heater work but in the process discovered more problems... And tried to open a new work order to fix the now broken control board... As in the heater is working, but no zone control... No A/C..... And its gonna cost....I bought a new control board on Amazon and fixed it myself.... For all I know that was the problem to start with and the tech just billed me 800+ to replace a part that didnt need replacing.

Fast and professional, I called California mechanical, and Henry came out, after finding out I needed a new system I was a bit scared his price was reasonable, after discussion financing the system I decided to do the 1-year installment plan which is fantastic no other company offered me that option. The next day Henry and his crew were at my house installing a new system. After completing the job, he took the time to explain to me how to used the new system and how to program our new wifi thermostat. Henry and the guys came to my rescue. My office AC has been broken for awhile. Turned out I needed a brand new AC unit. I had to awaiting for my company to approve a new AC unit, which seem to take forever. Henry keep me posted the whole while through. Absolutely amazing service. Our AC went out after 9pm on a 96° day, they were willing to come out that same night but we opted for service the next day. They worked with our schedule and called prior to our appointment to ensure they understood the problem and to walk us through what we could expect during their visit. They were on time, polite, carefull in our house and overall pleasing to chat with while they educated us on how to care for our system. They were quick to asses and solve our issue. We were up and running in no time.Most of all they were honest with their assessment, we would highly recommend them to anyone in need.

I called California Mechanical for a second opinion, after questioning the price the previous company was charging me.Henry the owner came out, and confirm it was the compressor, he tried a few alternatives to make it work but no luck. I was shocked his price was $1,000 lower compared to the other company, And his warranty was better. I had him do the job, and I was a bit hesitant, but I was wrong. Everything was installed fast and smooth.I had to ask why his price was lower after everything was complete. his answer was we are not trying to get rich overnight he when on to explain to me there a large volume company. We found our HVAC guy!!, Our A/C stopped providing Air in the last week or so, and it has been so Hot in the house! As a due diligence, I have called five companies to compare.First of all, the lady who answered the phone - Henry - was very nice and professional. Picked up the phone right away, called me back right away, and was able to address my needs and scheduled their guy to come to our house the first thing in the very next morning.(In comparison - with other companies I called, some had to transfer me to a different department. Some of the people who answered didnt sound too professional or friendly. Yes, I do want to work with people I like.)Hector - the technician who came to my house was on time, true professional and capable, helpful, and very kind! He serviced our unit and the best of all. Wow what can I say Henry was fantastic, my mother-in-law places A/c stopped working last night around 8:30 Pm I called multiple places hoping to get a live person and to my surprise California mechanical ANSWERED. I explained to Henry that my mother-in-law home was 94 degrees and I need it some ASAP. He explained to me that all his techs were gone for the day. BUT he was still in the office and if I would give him a few minutes to grab a quick bite and pick up an energy drink that he will be there in a few minutes.30 minutes later I meet him at the house, within minutes he found the problem, I was expecting to pay extra for coming out after hours but NO!! the estimate was reasonable. huge props to California mechanical for stepping up to the plate late at night.Will highly recommend to everyone

My elderly parents had their Heater go down this weekend.  On Monday, I called California Mechanical and asked them to go out and take a look to see if they can help.  I told them that my parents were a little nervous about someone coming and asked if he or she could call ahead of the visit so they would know they were coming.  They called ahead, arrived on time and did some troubleshooting.  He found that their thermostat just had a bad battery which he quickly replaced and made sure the unit was functioning correctly.  He then spent a couple of minutes chatting with them before he was on his way.  He told them there was no charge since the fix was simple.  My parents raved about what a nice guy he was and how comfortable they felt with him

I have been a resident property manager at my company for a little over 4 years now. During the past 3 I have been dealing with Henry and partner with any heating and AC issues in my office as well as my home. Was told for five days during the worst heat wave of the summer that somebody was coming to fix our ac. The owner Henry lied to us multiple times over the phone and we ended up having to call somebody else as we have a baby that cant sleep in a 90+ degree bedroom. Not sure why he couldnt just say they werent coming instead of avoiding calls and not returning messages and making up excuses.Wish they couldve just been honest instead of wasting our time. Avoid them if you can, there are a lot of other great companies that can turnaround in under 24hrs.

Called to get our AC fixed. It was blowing air but it’s not cooling. They called the same day and was ready to come to the house. They sent Manny (who I believe is a contractor for the them). He came on time, very courteous, checked the unit outside and he said there was a leak as evidence of oil around the pipe/valve. And he checked the Freon and he said it was almost empty or non existent. For the record, we never had it checked for more than 9 years living in our house. (FYI:: get it checked every 5 years for Freon level).He gave us a quote of $810 to find the leak, fix the leak and add Freon. He came back on time the following day and started working immediately. He replace the calve that was leaking oil and added Freon. Job took about 1.5-2 hours. Charged us $610 and we paid by credit card.

I called California Mechanical on Saturday hoping some would be available since I have a newborn, after talking to Henry for a few minutes I explain to me they were all booked for the next few days. Heres where I was impressed with this company. The owner Henry offered to come by after hours, they only thing he asked was to excuses him since he was not wearing a company uniform. He showed up a few minutes later and started troubleshooting my system. Within a few moments, he had my family cooled down. I was expecting to pay extra but guess what? I was able to schedule a next day appointment. The next day I had a tech by the name Carlos, within a few minutes Carlos figured out the problem. HORRIBLE!! I called this company because I thought I could trust them based on the great reviews. I was wrong. I Called Henry on Tuesday, we scheduled for Friday morning, he gave me a window of 9-11am. It was now 11:30 on Friday morning and I got no call from anyone saying they were running late. Called Henry at 11:30 and he said because of their work meeting that morning they were running 45 minutes behind. I figured no biggie and he said he will have someone call me. It was now 2:50pm and still NO WORD from anyone. So I called him again and he said his technicians were now running 2 hours behind and he will have his tech that was in Walnut Creek call me right away to give me an estimated time of when he would be coming.. never got a call and it was now approaching 5 pm so at that point I call and cancel the appointment. It takes a lot for me to get frustrated and this was just beyond horrible service. Never got an apology from him every time I had to call him, nor a phone call back to try and make it right.

Henry and his crew came out and were able to get our unit up and running in no time at all. He and all his crew is super friendly really do a great job. Would highly recommend them!

I had an outstanding experience with this company. They arrived within the time frame quoted and even phoned ahead to advise that it would be likely they would be arriving on the back end of that time. I thought that was above and beyond, as I know many companies that will quote 8-5 and show up at 4:59 with no acknowledgment of the time you have wasted waiting on them.

Horrible - wasted an entire day waiting for them to come for estimate. Completely blew off appointment, no phone call nothing. Called them 2 times given some excuse then still no call back. Totally un professional, if you cant even provide decent customer service beforehand I cant imagine trusting them with our AC system.
