Ive had nothing but a great experience so far. My husband has a membership and he brings me in as his guest with no extra charge. There are plenty of machines and everything is very clean and maintained well. The staff has always been extremely friendly and helpful 🙂

Zoe Kasper needs work on her customer service skills. Was harassed about bringing a guest in with me and using the dance floor to dance with them! We offered to buy a membership for my guest which she told us no and then called her district VP to complain to them. After she got off the phone I asked for their name and number which she responded was none of my business. The attitude in the tone of voice was degrading and childish. Wouldnt recommend because when you sign a contract that says youre allowed to do something then youre literally yelled at for doing what youre paying to do isnt professional at all.

Been going here for almost 6 years with 1 year off due to shoulder surgery.Very highly DISAPPOINTED in machinists NOT working, or at least NOT working correctly! Cleanliness has DROPPED and just overall smell and atmosphere has made a turn for the WORSE!They still have employees signing people up and personal trainers but FAIL to maintain the overall presentation and maintenance that Im accustomed to and definitely pay for!THE ONE ON CORTEZ REALLY NEEDS TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER!

Club can not constantly open on time. Cleanliness is basically non existent. Lots of broken equipment and facilities. Canceled my membership after 15 years and staff acted like they didn’t even care.

I was told I could cancel my membership after 3 months and the day I went to cancel they told me it was 4 months and nobody could help me with it.. so angry about being lied for part of the gym members. I edited this review bc looks like they finally have been doing something about the complains. Fewer things still not working properly though.

Very nice facility with a plethora of classes and training alternatives. Never felt ashamed to be working out there and even encouraged to keep coming back. Front desk is friendly, trainers are nice, and management is understanding if you say no to the premium add-one to your membership.

This very important squat machine has been down for 3 weeks. Management is not quick to repair broken equipment.

Sometimes, people are not at the desk, and I have asked multiple times for them to turn down the music in the locker room, but it never happens. Its like attending a rock concert! The facilities themselves are quite good, however. The whirlpool is much better than it was under LA Fitness.

This is just LA Fitness under the guise of Esporta Fitness, I received an email after my 5 Day Trial saying they had a special offer, when I clicked the link it took me to the same page to sign up online without any offers or discounts. Very disappointing and misleading, sketchy of them which makes me not trust their company or practices.

Awesome place to get a great workout. The equipment is spaced out because of the covid virus so social distancing isnt a problem. They have all the machines and free weights plus cardio and a fantastic pool. They also offer classes and personal instruction.

This facility and company deserve a negative star review! They are extremely rude and unprofessional, to say the very least. When I signed up, they charged me first and last months totaling $85.00. they billed me the monthly payment of 42.00 the next month, and then I came in before the next payment was due and filled out paperwork to cancel the 6 month term because I was moving out of state to Alabama and they have no clubs there. When I came to cancel, they treated me very rudely, but they told me it was taken care of. I believed them. However, 10 days later they charged me $50 for an Annual fee, and also the next months bill of $42 as if I never cancelled. They didnt bill me for 2 months due to COVID closure, but then they billed me another $42.00 for June and attempted to bill me $42.00 for July, but my CC was near limit and my credit card company sent me two notification emails that they declined payment to LA Fitness. Thank goodness for this because that was what alerted me to the whole problem. I called them thinking they were fraudulently using my card, but lo and behold, she said my account was due. I was transferred to the manager and she remembered me coming in to cancel and said she processed the cancellation and took care of it. So she was the very rude individual that dealt with me. She proceeded to lie to me and tell me that was just a notification that I didnt wish to continue my membership after the 6 month period. So if that were the case, why was she trying to process payment for June and July... When 6 months was to June, and I already paid first and last. I told her I absolutely was clear I was moving where there were no facilities and meant to cancel contract immediately. Then she said, Oh, you mean to buy out term... Thats different. Then she told me that the buy out is $85, which is an absolute lie and not anywhere in the contract. The termination fee in the contract is $49.00. When I got billed the $53.00 10 days later, I assumed it was the termination fee and was done. They should have not billed me an Annual fee because I terminated before that. She absolutely lied the entire call and was caught up in her own lies. I told her to just go back and make it a cancellation fee and refund me the rest. She said she could do that, but wed be about even... Lies again. She ended up calling me and leaving a message that shed taken care of it and that we were squared up, and she wouldnt even bill me the last payment of July. Wow! They actually owe ME the two payments back, totalling up to 85.00, and then were good! I went in to the gym and spoke with the manager, and she ended up cussing me out and throwing me out of the gym when I told her she was lying. She was citing things made up, and when I asked her where it was in the contract, she said it wasnt in my contact, but on her screen (which she wouldnt turn around and show me). I told her if its not in the contract, its a lie and she threw me out, cussing me!! BEWARE!!GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! ITS TOO MUCH FOR A GYM! GO ACROSS THE STREET!! YOU GET A BETTER GYM, NICER PEOPLE, AT A QUARTER OF THE COST, WITH NO MONTH TO MONTH CONTACTS! BOTH PLANET FITNESS, AND CRUNCH ARE ONLY $10.00, WITHOUT CHARGING OUTRAGEOUS FEES! THIS MANAGER IS DOING CROOKED BUSINESS! VERY SHADY! I WENT ONLINE AND GOOGLED MY PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE DEALING WITH THIS!! UPDATE: I disputed charges with my credit card company made past my termination on 3/2, and La Fitness did end up refunding all charges past that date, which were 3 monthly charges. AVOID THE HASSLE AND GO ELSEWHERE!!

Best gym around. I love this place!

Overall, LA Fitness is best fitness center in the area. There are some competitors that have longer hours of operation, better aerobic machines, better pool facility, and towel service, but none have it all. So, other facilities may fit your particular needs better but in my opinion, LA Fitness is the best overall for facilities and equipment.

I am very disappointed with LA Fitness policy about social distancing. On Cortez Rd they just added more space to the personal training area and had all the machines real closer to each other.Looks like they don’t care about staying safe and healthy!

Dont bring any personal belongings their lockers are not on camera so if you leave anything it will be stolen and they will have no idea what happened to it

I love to workout in the weight room, and to also use the exercise machines, which have their own entire room, too! 😜I, as well, really enjoy the fact that there is a Chucky Cheese, right next door, and I can go there for pizza right after workout! 🤓

This gym is the best. The facility was suitable for my needs, clean, the staff was great. I’ve been to many gyms and no one has taken the time to even say hello. When I got yo speak to Fred, not only did he greet me with the utmost respect, he also listened to me. Fred asked me about my fitness goals, asked what I did for a living, & asked about my family dynamics so that I can fulfill my goals and my family obligations. So, I love LA Fitness and other locations I have visited have always been a great experience. HOWEVER, this location needs corporate intervention. First, the gym is dirty. The bathrooms feel like I will contact a disease and need to hold my breath from the urine smells. I have to sanitize it before use. There has been poop smeared on the stall walls for months. Some of the barbells have had dried blood on them from other peoples use. My wife feels violated with men in the womens side cleaning during the busiest times in the morning. After repeated complaints to management and corporate, apparently its acceptable to have men in there for 2 hours in the morning while women are changing. One morning, he closed all the showers to clean while women are trying to shower and get ready for work. Multiple women have already dropped membership to this location. The front desk personnel barely acknowledge you. One morning the guy was snoring and sleeping... Customer service and cleanliness is not a priority here. Ive visited Anytime Fitness and Planet Fitness in the area and they have always been acceptable.

No one at front desk, waited a minute or two...employee at first desk upon entry wouldn’t look up to assist potential new members; as I walked up I saw a side glance knowing I was approaching but still didn’t look up until I said excuse me. Passed my bf and I off to another employee who opened with “what do you guys want?” Thanks for making the decision of us not joining easy

Pretty nice gym. Nicely laid out with plenty of room to do your workout. Large building so things are well spaced out and not crowded. Lots of treadmills upstairs so there is never a wait. Gym seems to be pretty clean. You seldom see a trainer on the gym floor so if you have a question you may be on your own.

My son was visiting from out of state and stopped in to get in a work out and they charged him $16.00 for a 2 hour session. That is a rip off at best for a marginal facility. He is relocating here in 2 months but will not be joining LAFitness. He went to another gym the next day and was given a 3 day pass without asking. The person at the check in desk stayed on their cell while checking him in as well so not very professional.

Great but many are entering without mask and front desk too. This is sad and no temperature taken.

Definitely not the cleanest LA Fitness, machine selection is okay. Only two squat racks is a bit annoying. As a member who goes to multiple LA Fitness across the state, its annoying for Personal Trainers to solicit their services Ive never seen you before while youre working out with headphones on.Not my favorite LA Fitness, but suffice to get a good workout in.

Worst customer service ever!Very pushy sales person.I travel frequently to to east coast and applied for a 5 day pass in Hollywood that i never used. So in the middle of my workout she came to tell my my pass was revoked.I was looking forward to join this location and La fitness since its close to my place.Equipment was really dated anyway, and honestly the gym clientele seemed really ghetto, same as the staff. No manors.Theres better gyms! Like anytime fitness!Also the black girl at the front desk refused to give me corporate number. Im simply furious!

Unacceptable to charge what you do for monthly memberships but you can’t employ people that open the gym on time. I would expect that more from the $10 a month gyms but not from LA. This happens entirely way too frequently where a large group of your members are waiting for someone to show up.I’m sure most of them are on a time schedule because it’s a work week.

Clean place good services

Clean. Well taken care of. Machines are all in good working order. Staff is friendly. Locker rooms are constantly being cleaned and maintained. My children go to the Kids Klub as well and the love it. Giant, clean playroom with climbing things and a TV with cartoons. And all the staff in the Kids Klub have always been really sweet and good with kids.

Beautiful! This location is only minutes away from my house. When I toke my first tour I simply throwed my mind how largeIt is. The exercise equipments are fantastic.I think could spend a whole day in there just trying the classes, swimming in the pool or playing basketball etc. Not to mentionthe great management of the location.Especially G.M. Lopez. The man of steel.Hes doing his job flawlessly!He highly inspires me at reaching my ultimategoals. So in a few words..I can recommend this place!

I inquired at the Cortez location in Bradenton,FL and met with Zack for my scheduled tour. He showed me the entire facility, With a complete description of the classes available. He was also very receptive to using the discounts afforded by my employer Home Depot. I was highly impressed with everything and i could tell they were interested in my personal goals and not just getting a another paying client. It was a fantastic experience and I look forward to a long relationship with L.A. Fitness.

I went yesterday for the first time on a visitors pass and the girl at the front desk was rude and not helpful at all. Id never been there and she didnt provide me with a tour or how to get to the locker room. I said I guess Ill figure it out on my own. The pool water was quite cold for an indoor pool. I believe I will be looking elsewhere for a membership. Its a shame because it seems like a nice gym but customer service sets the 1st example and in this place it was horrible!

Heading to the gym this morming to start at 5 and come to realize it doesnt open until 8am. This shouldnt have happened seeing how I verified the opening hours last night. Theres no reason why the opening hours should change on the EVE of any holiday!!! Not very happy with this new company so far or the staff!!! They want to come in at 8am so they barely greet the customer? All they do is sit behind the desk on their cellphones. Their neck isnt able to look up to greet the person entering.

Nice facility, equipment in good condition, never have to wait. Lots of amenities. Clean and pleasant atmosphere.

Update: since Covid sauna was barely working. Nowdays mens sauna bench is broken for months. I think MGT is waiting for some large person to finish the job.Used to be a good place to work out.

I feel this is the best fitness center in town comic huge cardio upper level, free weights on half the bottom floor and top-of-the-line equipment in addition to a pool sauna and clean hot tub!

This is a great gym with great staff, But yestarday i went to do a normal workout and half way in i go to do the single leg standing hip extension machine and a older man in front of me two machines down pulled out his iphone and started blatantly recording me doing the exercise he saw me look directly at him a couple a times and he kept recording until i stopped to drink water and then he proceed to walk behind to a exercise machine behind me so i ran off into lifting room. I didnt want to cause a scene so i just left. Just warning for anyone that goes to workout in this gym.

The gym was full, lots of equipments but the front staff were very pushy about getting me to sign the subscription paper. I didn’t felt comfortable.

I JUST HAD the WORST ever experience at this locationI. have been a member for over 3 years at the old location and new location on Cortez Rd.I was gone out of town a little over 2 months before leaving I cancelled membership with the plan of resigning now that Im back in town. This is what this clubs asst. Manager had suggested I do back then.I went in to do so because my niece wanted to join I told her what a great fitness center it was. She came with me to join.The GM was so rude It appeared to me he was on something.After 10 minutes of him insulting me and calling me old and telling me how young and smart he was . He was trying to up sell me but would not let me ask one question talked over top of me. He was so rude would not let me get 2 words in. My niece was wanting to join LA Fitness but I ended up getting up and walking out. This was the worst sales person / manager I thing I ever met in my entire life! I have been in sales for a fortune 50 company for 22 years. I Was not going to comment but never have I ever been treated so rude. Got out side and my niece could not believe it. She is no longer interested in joining.I am checking other fitness centers. Always friendly staff in the past. I really want to. rejoin this Club always good in the past.Just bring myself to go back after today.

Facility is great, weekend hours suck. Close at 7pm? Come on, some people do work late on weekends. At least remain open till 9 on weekends

New, nice and clean. Open early and closes most nights at 11. They have spinning and a lot of other classes. Pool and basketball court.

Amatuer business with D grade customer service. They get 1-star for customer satisfaction. Im awarding 2-stars because the facilities are nice and Matt Barr, personal trainer, is a terrific guy.Bottom Line:LA Fitness pretty much sucks. There is likely another gym near you and it is likely a better choice. If you want more detail, I have an explanation below.Ive had two significant billing errors in the 11 months Ive held a membership here. First, I updated my payment info through my online profile. At the end of that month they charged the old card and not the updated card causing an overdraft with my innactive bank account. La Fitness accepted no responsibility and I paid the overdraft; an LA Fitness manager did personally update my payment info then. Next month, wrong card is charged again! Same story. How inept can a business be?Recently, I downgraded my personal training package. The LA Fitness manager handles it for me, assures me I am now downgraded. At the end of the month they charge me the full $300 and not $50 as it should have been downgraded to. Still trying to resolve this despite two employees verifying the authenticity of my case.Getting someone from within the organization to fix these errors is actually impossible. No one seems to have any authority.Now here is another kicker. When they made these errors, my account fell behind. After all they tried withdrawing money from an innactive bank account. I got 7-12 calls a day from LA Fitness representatives from all over the country trying to collect. California, Florida, New York, the calls kept coming in from everywhere! Thats rich. You can aggressively and rudely come after me but are slow and unresponsive in correcting your own egregious errors? Thats infuriating.

Gym facility is the best in west Bradenton. Some of the staff has attitude.

Used to work out there when they first opened. Great equipments. My dislike was that there was always a group of people that were obnoxiously loud with hooting and hollering across the gym. Kinda reminded me of high school. I wear ear buds all the time soo.....

Large chain gym with all kinds of stuff to choose from. Great place to exercise and hide. Very clean

The facility was great. The people who worked there however would do anything to get you to pay more money. The corporate experience. The overbearing sales pitch. The constant advertisment filled speaker radio on repeat. And to top that off, telling me I cannot cancel my membership on the spot when I drove there unless i mail a form to headquarters which will take 2-3 weeks to get there, and that my membership ends when they recieve it, not when I send it. So effectively they will keep charging me until they decide to stop.

You pay to be a member only to be harassed by the trainers either by hounding you to hire them or they come up to you when on equipment & ask how long your going to be when there is plenty of other equipment they could uses & not harass paying member! Wish there was a minus stars to rate them!!!!

Gave on star only for how nice the facility LOOKS. I used to work for lifestyles so I know how LA operates, same business model. I should have known.Long story short: stay the hell away from hereI came on lunch break and got the price I wanted at the enrollment rate I wanted. I could argue about the contract and up front payments but f it. I said Ill workout and join after. I barely have time.Workout goes okay. Then a trainer comes over to try and correct you on your form (my form was good, its a f-ing lat pull down). They do this all day picking easy targets or potentially new members and try to show them something to be nice but its a sell opportunity. Usually its women. This is encouraged by the company.I shrug it off and say f it lets sign up. My guy wasnt there so another took me. This really pissed off my first guy and made things awkward. Immediately as Im signing up the same trainer comes over to sell me training. I say I am good I used to be a trainer, Im good. He goes on to try and belittle me on why I need his help. I say I dont have time and he says and I quote I dont care about your lunch break, Im putting you down for 12 tomorrow, see that wasnt so hard. I said dont count on it and walked out. Next day I cancelled and got full refund.Now lucky me there was no cancellation hassle as Ive read over literally thousands of complaints on ripoff reports and Reddit. I got my money back in couple days. Now this is also with a 3 day cancellation so it may not be so smooth after that.In conclusion f u la fitness I hope you die out like Lifestyles did. Your business model isnt set up to put members first. Its to suck every dime out of us you can.

Hours of operation continue to be diminished - at this rate theyll only be open for 30 minutes a day, soon. The facility is immaculate; but what good does that do your members, if access is so limited?

Equipment is ok. There is very little room for anything other than machines. Most of the staff is very rude; the worst being Deondre who (when asked who is in charge) claims she is the manager. I find this very surprising considering the contempt with which she treats clients. She is always abrupt and unfriendly. When I finally decided to cancel my membership, I was initially helped by a gentleman who was very friendly and willing to help. He is a new staff member and a rare exception in terms of customer service mentality at this location. Deondre arrived at the front desk several minutes later and, overhearing our conversation, informed the gentleman helping me that she was the only person that could cancel memberships but would not be canceling my membership today because she “was not there.” She initially refused to acknowledge me directly and continued to behave very rudely insisting that I would have to come back tomorrow to cancel my membership. When I asked if I would be charged for an additional month, she stated “probably, I’ll call you tomorrow.” As I was leaving, she antagonistically said “I don’t care.” This final statement is an apt reflection of her general attitude. LA Fitness would do well to rid themselves of this extremely unpleasant individual and instill some basic customer service principles at this location.

I like the sauna and pool. Exercise equipment is in good shape.
