I contacted Meineke to perform work on my vehicle. I needed an alternator.The phone interactions I had with the owner were pleasant, and he seemed very accommodating. However, the face-to-face interaction was very different. When I picked up my car, after the work was completed, he mentioned that I might want to get the lights checked on my dashboard. But, I was confused because the only light I had on my dashboard before arrival was the battery light. I asked him, Are there other lights on the dashboard. He was very defensive and forceful. I was only inquiring since he mentioned it to me. Then he says, I dont know. I only replaced your alternator. Theres probably something else wrong with the car. But, if he didnt know about the lights, how did he know that I needed to get them checked. I told him he didnt have to be forceful with me.After I paid, I went to my car to discover that my Check Engine light was now on in addition to the traction control light. I told him those lights were not on before I dropped my car off. He proceeded to tell me he only touched the alternator as i asked. I asked him to tell me what the codes were and asked him to clear them. I asked him to clear them because I thought it might have resulted from the car not having power for a few days. He cleared the lights, and I left. I got 4 minutes away from the shop, and the lights popped back on, which indicates a problem. I turned around to go back to the shop. I asked him if he was sure everything was connected; he told me he didnt have to disconnect anything to get to the alternator and that he hadnt unplugged anything. It was not a pleasant conversation as I was also upset at this point after spending $600.I ended up taking my car to the dealership, where I should have taken it initially, but I was trying to save some money, and they told me my sensor was unplugged. The diagnostic cost me an additional $80. I called Meineke, and he apologized and reimbursed me for the diagnostic. Ive never had this kind of experience with a big name corporation, but I cant say that Id be returning to this particular location. Do not recommend.

I had had a bad experience elsewhere earlier in the day and was about to give up on trying to get my car fixed yesterday. Fortunately, this Meineke saved the day! The gentleman who helped me was kind, courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. I am thrilled with the result, as well as the fact that he diagnosed and fixed my problem same-day. The cost seemed completely reasonable for what was done. I would recommend this location (1st street Bradenton) to anyone needing a repair. I really could not be more pleased.

Owner was fantastic! Had suggested right things to me to go to Honda dealership without charging for the service as it needed compute reprogramming which would have need big deal for him. He is very friendly and accommodating for the service. I’ll certainly use him for other services! Place looks rundown but service was fantastic.

They did an awesome job with the alternator installation. They stayed late to make sure that it was completed correctly and on time. They also looked for a power steering leak and did not try to charge extra. Pricing was good.

My experience at Meineke was very easy. David the owner was very friendly and honest which I truly appreciate. I would recommend Meineke and David to anyone. I was there to get my catalytic converter replaced which if you know cars is REALLY EXPENSIVE. But David quoted a great price and guarantees his work.

Went in to inquire on doing a muffler delete for the exhaust on my car. No front office entrance which was surprising with Meineke being a corporate chain? I look for a professional entrance and greeting and it was more of a back alley style shop and a dog in the bay area, interesting. My first area of concern was he was unable to place my car on a lift, due to him not knowing how to do it, interesting again. Ive had this car up in lifts at other auto centers with absolutely no issue what so ever. I then drove it up onto a ramp style lift. He proceeded to look at my exhaust and told me all I needed to have, in which I already was aware of the needed parts. He felt the need to cut me off when I started talking. Rule number 1 you never ever cut a customer off when they are speaking, shows that you are demeaning the customer. He then proceeded to quote me a price that was way too high for the work that was needed. I had my car at a Midas the day before and they had an exhaust expert on site and he looked at my exhaust and within 5 understood what I wanted and quoted me a price that was $160 less than what the Meineke guy quoted, for the exact same work and parts. The Midas tech listened to what I was trying to do and didnt try to rip me off for the work. I have scheduled my appointment with Midas to have my work done. No need for me to ever return to this Meineke location. Thank you!

Had them do a brake job on my truck. They didnt tighten the bolts holding my front calipers, lost the top bolts holding both calipers. Luckily I heard the calipers moving before the bottom bolts fell out.

Called with a simple question. The guy was rude and sounded incompetent. Ill spend my money elsewhere and make sure my friends and family go elsewhere for any exhaust work.

Brought my car in for brake inspection. That consisted taking a ride around the block. Was told I needed calipers , pads and rotors. I knew this already. I said replace them with new parts. Next day my new rotor has the same gouges on it that my old set did. Went back to bring it to mechanics attention , he looked at me like I had 2 heads. Then went on to point out other causes ,aka more money. Im sorry but I brought it there for inspection , which there was none other than a quick ride. Wont go back again

Excellent service. Its hard to find an HONEST mechanic. They fixed my problem without charging & they could have charged to replace many things (the code was general). They definitely have my business!They are under construction & normally I wouldnt have gone there, but looks are deceiving.👍

My brakes died unexpectedly while on spring break. Owner is very nice and got me in same day. Gave me the list of what had to be fixed, what could need to be fixed soon and what didnt need fixed and let me choose. I appreciated that. Very reasonable pricing.

Needed brakes and rotors. Owner was upset the entire time. Workers cursing each other out and behaving unprofessional. Waited 4 hours for a brake job. Will not be back. Decent price, horrible customer service, dogs in waiting room. Could use some feminine power to boost the place.

I called about an oil change and got a reasonable price. They close at 6PM on Thursday according to their website. At 5:40PM, I was told they closed early because “their work is done”... I suggest changing your time for future potential customers so everyone is on the same page.

Hello! I went to this place recommended by someone. Right off the bat the man that I spoke to was harsh with his words but I had a lot of patience because I needed to get my car fixed. I have never written a review period but this should needs to be said for young adults like me who are being taken advantage of by car shops. My car was overheating in May. I got the water pump thermostat and gasket replaced by a seperate auto shop.Then a kind lady directed me to this meineke shop to get my A/C done. The cost at starting point was 40$ and ended up being a 900$ repair. Just for a week later my car to overheat do to improper airflow within the engine. after this I had no other sign of overheating until a day ago. I am now almost 2500 dollars into this as a college student with help from generous people. Today! I asked for information about what we’re the specifics done with my car and the man that spoke to me was rude and absolutely disrespectful to me as a person who has been nothing but patient with there establishment. He actually hung up on me as I was trying to respectfully ask him to email me my receipt which as a customer something I should have legal right to after spending 900$ on a starting 40$ repair.

I had called for an estimate and some mechanic shops dont give you an estimate over the phone, but Sal was willing and gave me an estimate with an affordable price and I made an appointment. During my appointment, I really respected how Sal kept me up to date on the progress of my car and how friendly him and his staff are. Sal honored the price estimate that he gave me over the phone and I really appreciated that. Thank you to Sal and his staff.

Im from out of state and needed new front brakes and rotors fast. I called in first thing in the morning and got in early. They did a great job fast and at the price quoted. I was out by noon. They did tell me I had a rattle in the front linkage (which I did), but got me out for cheap. Being from out of state they could have danced me around and charged extra, but did a professional job which got me back to PA on time. Its been about six months now and I came across the invoice so Im writing to let people know. Need brakes away from home (or at home) go here for honest work at honest prices on time. 2003 Black Ford Escape

I could not use Meineke coupons because mechanic/owner stated he was already running a special for the brakes. I don’t think I got a special price, as I paid more than quoted originally. I needed front brakes but will most likely go elsewhere for rear brakes.

Lets be honest, this place looks like a dump. BUT the staff was helpful. One of the guys even went to pick up my oil filter himself because they ran out and the place he called was taking to long to bring it. I can respect that. My kudos go to the young kid that actually changed my oil. He brought me out to my car to show me the tires and in the process, fixed my hanging muffler which was being damaged from hanging. I couldnt have been more thankful.

Good service and price. Got my oil changed for $20 with my own oil when everyone else wants to charge me $50 or more.

I called because I had a coupon for a free basic oil change and I talk to someone on the phone and he told me that he does not except the coupons at his business and instead of trying to help me and see if I needed anything else he hung up the phone. Never will I go to this place, the guy I talked too sounded very uneducated and didnt give me any costumer service.

Worst place ever, these people have no idea what they are doing and charge a premium hourly rate. They open late, not time listed and leave 20 minutes or so early with no notice. Do not update you on your car just keep it over night...for days even with no updates unless you call. Horrible place...go somewhere else where you will be charged the same hourly rate but receive good knowledgeable service that doesnt take forever. People have lives too and need their vehicles.

They very rudely refused to honor one of Meinekes national promotions and told me its all over. I asked how they could do that since it just started today and the coupon says it runs for than a month yet. The man told me, Because I just said its over. In a way Im glad this happened because I wouldnt trust this place to fix my car.

Beware, Meineke in Bradenton has a misleading web site.My husband called today Sept 26, 2017 approximately 4:30pm to make an appointment for an oil change. My husband was told that the synthetic blend oil change was priced at $49.95, although their own web site states the blend is priced at $34.95. In addition, we had printed a coupon for 45% off on their web site, which they would not honor (valid at their address which was printed on the coupon). Meineke stated they would not honor the coupon, said thanks for calling and hung up on my husband. We just moved to the area from Illinois where we have had the same experience with Meineke in the past.

Wouldnt trust this business to service my bicycle. Could not get anyone to pick up the phone to make an appointment and when they did, the person was very rude. Will never go to this store or any other Meineke because of their association with this franchise. There are plenty of other chains who will be happy to have my business.
