Jeff is great. So thorough and so quick! He helped me understand how the locks work, why they break, and even gave me a demonstration on the durability of the new lock he was making for me by trying to break a copy of it using a vice grip and a pliers and twisting attempting to twist it apart. It didnt break. He charged me way less than the quotes I found online for a chip Honda Pilot key.

I couldnt have had a better experience! Jeff was so kind and worked on his day off to find the code for my key from GMC to make a new one. It was not an easy task and he was very patient. The cost was half of what i was quoted from others to come out and do it. He said i could just come down the road to the shop and it would be cheaper. This is a business that cares and really takes pride in their work. Thank you Jeff!

Don’t waste you’re Time trying to call these people have a business and rush customers off the phone. When you ask an additional question you get a sigh with what else do you need. Please look for a better customer driven business.

City Lock was the only locksmith who would even talk with me about programming my Suzuki key fob. Since Suzuki no longer sells cars in the US, few places support them. City Lock did the programming and charged a fair price.

Owner was super responsive, fair, and friendly. I would return for any lock/key needs.

I visited to have two keys cut and programmed to my vehicle. The owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He really knows his craft. Cutting and programming two keys took about 20 minutes. I would take his advice on not buying your keys online. Mine did work but after talking to the owner I can see how many would not work. My only complaint is that the Google page shows Citylocks service hours. The retail location actually closes at 2:00 PM

Excellent experience! I locked my keys inside my pop up camper. I called around to a couple different locksmiths, but I couldnt get any straight answers about price quotes or appointment times. When I called City Lock it was smooth, professional and easy. I was told to just bring my camper up to the shop anytime- and that it would save me money on a trip fee. Once I got there the camper was opened up in no time and I got my key from inside. City Lock also cut me a spare key and did the research to make sure everything was correct. One of the quotes I did get from another company was a range, FOUR to FIVE times more than what City Lock charged me to pick the lock. This is a great local Boulder Company. I highly recommend them.

Today was my second visit to have my Subaru key fob repaired and received the same courteous service as I did on my first visit.I cannot understand the negative comments made by Mr Trout as ?Geoff served two other customers whilst I was there - in a jovial and professional manner and shared a laugh with me as I had also brought my wifes key (and it obviously didnt fit) but repaired my real (battery) fob in milliseconds!I drove 45 miles to the store as I knew Id get the right recult - and I did!GOODONYA MATEAussie Bob OBrien, Fort Collins

It was extremely simple to find a different business willing to (nicely) help me. All Im doing is sharing my personal experience. I wish hed been polite and explained the situation. City Lock is a great service. It can be expensive, but blame the security updates the auto makers keep developing. I had two keys made after spending time and money on a DIY plan. Now Im having my ignition cylinder fixed. In the end, City Lock will get it done right.

Jeff is great, and his prices are reasonable. You might think you are getting a deal on new door locks at Big Box Mart, but then if you needing the keys matched... his prices end up being the same. Plus, you will enjoy an unhurried, small shop feel.

I needed a key made or the lock re-keyed for a key I had. Jeff looked at it, quoted a price, and went to work on it. I asked if I should come back and he said since I was from Longmont to hang out for awhile. After about 40 minutes, he was done. I used City lock and Key about 10 years ago for the same problem, and I will return again if needed. I highly recommend this business.

The worst customer service I can remember. Simply went in to get copies of some keys made. The attendant, who I guess is the owner, sat on the phone with his feet on the counter having a casual conversation on the phone. After 5 minutes, I recya phone call from my wife on my cell. During my conversation with my wife, I made it clear I was in a hurry. After I hang up with my wife, the attendant is still in his call. Two minutes later, he is still talking...about to hang up...then he says to the person he is talking to..Oh, one more thing... I walked out. There was no attempt to stop me. I will never set foot in that shop again

Kudos to Jeff at CITY LOCK, Boulder, for saving my butt again. I tend to lose keys, or break them..and Jeff is THE GURU on getting me back down the road on my vintage 1977 Collectible Motorcycle. Other Locksmiths have not been able to accomplish what he has done, and he has saved me TWICE( you think Id learn..) Un-enthusiastic? Ive sent many people to Him BECAUSE of his Knowledge and enthusiasm( Ive told clients..He may talk your ear off..only because he knows this stuff so well..go ahead..quiz him..)Well, Jeff has taught me that all is not lost when It comes to my carelessness, and should be awarded a medal of honor. At one point, he made a key out of 2 halves of a brittle key that had broken. Wow.I would Recommend City Lock for not just Auto, but for all of your home security( they even carry Safes) . I can always count on an expert Like Jeff to help out. I Hope I never need his services again (if I get my act together)...I have since backed up my keys..and been more careful.Thank You Jeff! I went to City Lock with a key and ignition problem. My trusted mechanic recommended them. The owner was very helpful to me. He spent 20 minutes thoroughly researching the issue and found that it was not a key and ignition issue but something else, and gave me advice about what to do next. He did not charge me for his time. I felt that he was very helpful, thorough, and honest, and will go back to that shop for any of my key and lock needs from now on.

This is the worst experience Ive ever had! After paying for a tow truck to tow my car there on the promise that he could program my vehicle no problem! He did not delive and continued to mess with my car ruining my insterment cluster costing me thousands of dollars!!! Finally I had to have my car towed To the dealership were they informed me the keys he sold me were no good and not programable! They gave me an official letter stating this and I brought it to him for a refund and he refused and was very rude! I hope no other hard working citizens ever have to be cheated by this guy!

The key hole for the ignition in my Honda Pilot became too worn down to get the key in (a common problem apparently). At the dealership this replacement is close to $1000, Jeff quoted a significantly better price and completed the project quickly. He was very helpful and friendly throughout the whole experience. Ignition works like new now, and he gave me 2 new keys for my car as well.

I bought a remote key on-line for my Honda Accord and took it to City Lock for cutting and programming. I was very pleased with their service. I also learned its not a good idea to buy a remote key on-line because you really dont know for sure what you are getting. You can do the same thing at a reputable locksmith like City Lock and pay about the same. But, you at least have some kind of warranty on the key. Thanks City Lock for providing excellent customer service.

The guy behind the counter has an intense and particular irritability personality characteristic that was instantly noticeable and awkward. I would highly recommend staying clear of this place. So sad.

I had a very complicated problem in my old truck with an aftermarket ignition cylinder. I tried to get four locksmiths to fix it over 3 days, including the dealer. None of them could. These guys came through. Lots of respect, would definitely come back.

City Lock charges fair prices and comes through when you need them.

Very helpful and friendly and cut my keys that I didnt purchase there. Just make sure your keys are compatible to your vechicle if not purchasing them there. Programmed them quickly and easily as I didnt have any modification done to my car.

Really awful customer service. I bought a replacement FOB there 6 months ago because my original was in luggage that was stolen. Ever since then, the battery dies whenever it is exposed to prolonged cold. My original key and my finances key never had this issue so I went in and complained that it was something wrong with the key. I wanted my $$ back and he proceeded to argue with me the entire time, interrupt me and even walk right up to me trying to intimidate me. He refused to refund my $$ and went on to blame the car for having a third party remote system causing me to be stranded every time the battery dies in the FOB because putting the key in manually sets off the alarm. That is an issue but not related to fact the key doesnt work properly which was my argument! When a product doesnt work, I think it is completely reasonable for a customer to go in and ask for a refund and not be berated with pointless arguments and disrespect. Went here to try to save a few bucks vs the dealership key....not worth it. I even tried agreeing with his admittedly reasonable compromise of replacing the key with the stipulation that if it happens again, THEN he would refund my $$....Nope, still more arguing and refusing to refund. Save the headache and go somewhere else...

I entered this establishment to get keys cut for a 15 year old vehicle. The person at the counter started the conversation with with a noticeable east coast accent whatta ya want ? I replied that I would like to have extra keys cut for my vehicle as I placed the original and blanks on the counter in front of him. He frowned, grabbed them up and silently walked away. It was followed by a very short, rude and condescending explanation of the process and how much it would cost me. I decided immediately that I dont ever want to do business with this guy and this (his?) business. I highly recommend that you dont either. Unless youre from Boston, Brooklyn etc. Then, I guess, you like being treated that way because its normal.

Have to get a key made on a vehicle that all other locksmiths in the city failed at? Have to get it done in a small time window? This place can get it done and for much cheaper than the other locksmiths in the city. I was on travel and had to get an emergency key made to return to the rental car company, and this place was able to when few others would do it.They were incredibly knowledgable about the subject of vehicle immobilizer and key/chip pairing, so it is safe to assume that it translates to other domain areas of locksmithing.

I was locked out of my store due to the lock malfunctioning. I called City Lock and they were at my door in 2 minutes and got me in! $125 but worth it. He explained what was wrong. I chose not to fix it at the time.... 3 weeks later same issue. He made me new keys for $12 and all is well now. I would highly recommend.

It took him less than 5 minutes to unlock my faulty gas cap, and it became quite obvious to me that he really knows what he is doing. Had a great experience here! Car wouldn’t start because the key fob data was corrupted and not sending a signal to the car to disable the security. Owner helped me reprogram two new keys and ran a full dignostic on the car! Highly recommend!

The history of locks, which ones will break, which ones are easy to pick, and which will actually keep your doors and items secure. Plus they had the best price for duplicating my motorcycle key. This is why we need to support local businesses!

I was trying to get another set of Key to my RV, just incase I lose them. So I called Jeff to see if he can make me another one and programe it at his shop. First thing he said was, did you call the last owner to see if they have them in their Kitchen Cabinets or hanging somewhere in thier house... And Guess what, I did and the prior owners still had them, 2 sets.... Jeff saved me almost $600 and he is very knowledgable and expert at what he does.....

Rip off! Quote for 2 keys $525. 1 key $400. And If I have the car towed from Erie to Boulder and he programs the key at his business location, $200. It would cost him $200 to travel 9.6 miles to Erie?? And then he has the nerve to call me back after I said, No thank you.

I brought my ebay-sourced automotive chip keys to Jeff and he programmed them while I waited. Shouldnt have wasted my time buying keys online. Hes got them all there, and likely better product than what you get from web resellers. Very convenient on 30th near Valmont. highly recommended.

I called a locksmith here to let me in to my house when my key had fallen off my keychain in the course of the day. He was incredibly repetitive and condescending on the phone with me when I originally called. And, he made me pay $125 before he would even send anyone out to my house.Then, he called me when he got to my house to tell me that he couldnt find any parking directly in front of my building. He cussed me out, and insulted me for where I lived and the fact that my HOA hadnt created any guest parking. Then, as he continued to yell at me, he told me that he would not be coming to let me in. It was dark, and I was stranded outside of my house with my dog for an addition hour because I had to call and wait on another locksmith.The conduct of this individual displays an utter lack of integrity and professionalism. I am appalled that this kind of behavior would be acceptable practice for any one in a customer service setting. In the end I called Boulder Mobile Locksmith, and they were prompt, professional, and courteous. Please dont spend your money at City Lock.

Amazing service! Needed a new key/remote for my aging VW. Getting the remote to work made the controllers in the car go nuts. The staff at City Lock went waaay above and beyond, and found that the vw bug had a firmware bug that was truly a corner case, AND found a solution, AND spent a day fixing it at no charge! If they hadnt, it would have cost at least $1,000! Yay City Lock!

My fob for my Audi stopped working. The batteries had worn out. no big deal. I took it apart and replaced them. Still no go. I called the Audi dealership. I was gonna have to set up an appointment to bring my car in for them to take a look. I was driving by Citylock and decided to see if they could help me. Jeffery did a quick check to make sure it was transmitting. He then took it out to my car and noodled with it there. Suddenly it started working. I said How much do I owe you Of course he said nada. I think I found my lock guy. Blown away!

I needed a new key for a Honda -- it had to be cut and the immobilizer chip in it had to be programmed into the car. City Lock knew exactly how to do it, did it quickly and did it at a reasonable price.

I called this shop to have them fix my lock. The person answering the phone was rude to I took my business elsewhere.

I had a temperamental ex who still had my key and I needed to change locks asap. The owner refused to change my locks without a police assist, which was ridiculous, he did not live here. The owner even accused me of lying! Please do not support them if they would not help a woman in need.

I was told that City Lock would not stand behind there work. If the key I needed cut did not work afterwords, that was my problem, no warranty.

I went to the store to duplicate the key of my car. Their price is even expensive, actually much more expensive, than from the dealer. Ridiculous...
