Had an excellent experience with Back Bay Computers. Sam responded to my quote request within a few hours and his prices were fair and lower than another company had gotten a quote from. We were even able to coordinate pick-up and drop-off service from my house for $10 each way, since I was unable to make the business hours. We replaced the hard drive and upgraded Windows and I had my computer back within 2 days. Communication was easy via text as any questions arose. Very satisfied with the results! Ive never had my computer run this quickly before.

I had a really good experience with back Bay computer. I had a socially distant holiday and something happened with the fan on my computer and I thought that maybe something got damaged on the way back home but I wasnt sure so I sent a message to back Bay computer and they almost immediately responded and gave me the price up front which was nice instead of having to wait until the surfaces were rendered and getting some crazy amount that I wasnt expecting.It turns out there is a sticker in my computer and they figured it out really quickly and were very fast to tell me that it was satin ready to go and it was very reasonably priced for technology repair.I would definitely recommend the small business for fast high quality service at very reasonable prices

I came in knowing the issue that I had and even the replacement part. They were able to take it and fix the issue within 2 hours which was wonderful, the price was also incredibly reasonable. however I can tell they were rushing a bit to finish it, because they forgot to reconnect a fan header and stripped a screw hole. overall not that big of an issue because I knew how to troubleshoot. however if someone less knowledgable than I recieved the product I did they would think the computer was broken because it was over heating.

My Razer Blade Stealth 13.3 laptop(a year old) was crashed. I was facing BSOD issues for a month and my BIOS setup was messed up too. I contacted Razer support as my laptop was not booting up later and they asked me to ship it to them as there is no customer service in Boston. Then I found Back Bay Computer and they fixed my laptop in two hours. Unbelievable service, considering the issues I was facing with the device!Also, the fixes charge was inexpensive compared to the quote suggested by Razer Support. Ive called Back Bay Computer twice now in a panic and was treated promptly and like a friend. The first time they rescued my damaged hard drive and all of my life files and charged me practically nothing. They truly care more about helping you than making money. The second time around I called them for help with my new computer and offered to help me over the phone or to come in for assistance at my convenience. They are a local family owned and operated company and now Id never trust anyone else with my electronic issues.

Good and diligent service, they really try solve your problem

Sam has fixed several of my devices that I thought were beyond repair. The first time I spilled tea all over my laptop, Apple told me the computer was irreparable so I went ahead and bought a new one. But just to see if it could be fixed, I took the laptop to Sam and within a few days he had it back up and running. A few years later I spilled water over the same laptop but was no longer in Boston so I took it to my local repair shop. They were unable to fix the laptop so I decided to mail it to Sam and yet again he was able to fix it. 10/10 would recommend. He provides excellent service at a very fair and honest price.

Sam fixed my old but trusty iPhone 5S that had a seriously dodgy battery that had made the screen pop out. I then returned a few weeks later as my Dell laptop was only starting intermittently. They got it working until it finally died but Id backed everything up to Carbonite and they were very helpful with advising me on steps to take with my new laptop. Sam and Eric were a pleasure to work with and are extremely knowledgeable about all things computer/mobile phone. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

The LOCATION is perfect, 5 minutes from Copley T Green Line. Their store was also easy to find with a big sign. I found this to be good, but uncommon in the Back Bay area as all the homes look the same.3. Very RESPONSIVE through the phone. I called twice regarding my laptop and I was never put on hold or had to wait for extended periods of time.4. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sam and Eric are super friendly, great to work with and went well beyond to handle any problems that I had. I couldnt ask for better customer service!5. I also learned that they fix other electronics, such as gamingcontrollers (PS4, XBOX controllers, etc) which I think is worth mentioning.

I cracked my macbook screen several months ago and put off getting it fixed due to the high cost. After calling many places (in different cities even), Back Bay Computer had the best pricing, and were very straightforward about everything. They had to order the part (which came in just a few days), and the actual installation time was just a couple hours, which allowed me to continue using my laptop until then. The screen is great quality and so far is working great. Fantastic experience here at Back Bay Computer!!

DO NOT GO THERE. HE WITHHOLDS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PARTS YOU BUY. I brought in my laptop because it wouldnt charge or turn on. I thought it was the charging port, but turned out to be the motherboard. He said he could order one and found one while I waited. He told me the price and said itd come by the end of the week. He installed it, picked it up the next week and the following day the touchpad stopped working. I took it to a real computer business and was told it was an USED motherboard and its already dying. I asked for a refund for the USED motherboard that I was not told about nor agreed to pay for (I did not ask for a refund for the charged service, just the part), but he refused saying he got it to turn on and thats good enough. I did not bring it to him to have it turn on or to have an used motherboard be installed without prior knowledge. Do not go there, take it to a real repair shop.

My thinkpad was bluescreened after disk partition，they quickly fixed my computer within one day and the service is pretty good. They did lend me a computer during the repair of my laptop. Recommended.

Excellent experience! I dropped my laptop and broke the power jack (I literally bent the metal and things went flying off). After calling around to MANY places and being told that this would be a very costly and difficult fix (required taking apart the entire computer and then soldering to the motherboard), Sam (the owner) came through with an extremely reasonable price and the knowledge to do it right the first time. I also had my computer back within one day. My laptop is working great and Im a extremely happy customer. I highly recommend Back Bay Computer.

I totally recommend this place. I accidentally spilled some coffee in my laptop hours before an important presentation. Sam and his father Eric were truly incredible. Both of them worked for hours skipping lunch to try to get me back on time. They even let me borrow a loan computer and picked it up at my hotel on Saturday evening. Best experience Ive ever had. Eternally grateful!

Wouldnt recommend this place. He isnt confident of his fixes. I ended up ruining my perfectly good laptop .. the only fault with the laptop was that the charging port needed to be replaced .. he ended up trying a temporary fix that ruined that laptops motherboard .. what otherwise would have been fixed in $60 .. is now going to take me $450 to fix!

Came here to have my Thinkpad fixed. Hard drive had corrupted itself so my data was lost but they loaded up Windows and got it working again in 24 hours. Nice people, good work!

Simply wonderful. I had accidentally smashed the hard drive in my laptop (not to bits, but its done for!) and I looked up places nearby who could help me. I ended up accidentally going to the nearby Iphone repair shop (my phone led me to it, and I was so embarrassed but I was laughing on the inside, I typed in laptop repair on Google maps and it brought me there. It really was less funny at the moment, though). I look on my phone just expecting to go halfway across Boston to find somewhere, and to my absolute incredulousness I saw that Back Bay Computers was practically next door! I walk in and the man there was VERY helpful. I expected to be between 5-10 days without a laptop because I knew Id have to order a new hard drive and bring it to him, and the hard drive I had in my laptop was out of stock and wouldnt be in for another couple days, then it had to be shipped. Turns out in 2 days he calls me and says he has a drive ready, and my laptop is up and running! Im a student who uses the laptop frequently for college, and it was just a miracle! I get there and I pay a VERY reasonable rate, and it truly has been just fine since. What a life saver! Quick, reasonable, and caring! 5/5 Just wonderful.

Broke my $1500 computer and pretended it was already broken. Dishonest, unreliable, not worth a dollar.

Several months ago, I had multiple issues with my Mac that Apple would not fix because it was considered vintage. After diagnosing my computer for free, it was determined my magsafe board, My trackpad, battery, battery connecter needed to be replaced. The repair was done ahead of the original quote time and was complete with the upmost care, using OEM Apple parts, not low quality third party parts. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the repair and the professionalism displayed by the owner. Despite the number of parts needed, the repair was not much more than the the sum of the parts used. I will 100% be returning for any future issues and would recommend this place to everyone, especially someone with an older mac.
