Amazing experience!! Hertz told me 5 minutes before my reservation that the vehicle I reserved 2 weeks ahead was not available and Enterprise couldnt fulfill my same day rental that I called ahead for and was told the vehicle was available. After searching for a couple hours I found this place and they saved my kids birthday trip! Within 2 hours we were in a freshly detailed and tuned up vehicle! The van was currently in the shop for a tuneup and tire change. I got update calls to let me know as they waited on the vehicle to return and the customer service was superb!! Cant remember the guys names because Im bad with names but all of them were amazing and it was like I was talking to actual humans that cared about me needing a vehicle ASAP! Deposit plus some was refunded because I got back a few minutes early and used less miles than estimated. The rates are better than anyone else and no ridiculously large deposit. Also no credit card being required is a BIG win and massive advantage over their competitors. I will definitely be renting from American Auto again if I need another rental. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

I would recommend this place to anyone. I had a reservation at Avis that was canceled at the last minute. I called American Auto Rental and was told they had rentals available. When I got there Toby helped my family. He was very friendly and professional. He got us in and out quickly. And my family and I are very grateful.

First of all this was the only place in Shreveport or bossier that had a rental car available . They wanted a check stubs, utilities bill, two references and a few more other things that a was not told over the phone call. Waste of time and gas.

I was using AACR for a while till one week I rental car and was told one thing about the rental but when I returned it the own had put his own price on my rental he kept all my money and then told me I couldnt rent a car from him anymore because I didnt want him to take up my time and agure with him I had walk out and he felt I was wrong .....now I go were I get discounts great service and great cars

It’ was super easy to rent the vehicle and they were pretty fast on getting me on the road. Rates weren’t bad either. The only thing I could possibly ask or suggest is making sure you have no vehicles that smell like smoke. They tried putting me in a Nissan that smelled like straight smoke. Only reason is because my wife was pregnant at that time and I had a 4 year old kid in the back seat. Other than that they didn’t ask for credit card.

We were in need of a car and honestly this was the last place that we tried, but it will be our first choice from now on. They will work with you and a much more reasonable then enterprise and hertz.

Very rude people do not rent from them we rented a budget truck in which it had a broken passenger side turn signal in the front the passenger side door lock fell out of the door the windshield wipers were no good I had to stop and buy windshield wipers I had to put a quart of engine oil in the engine because it started to make all kinds of noise the headlights were pointed to the sky so bad I could not see the drive down the Ozark mountains at night the personnel working who took care of us refused to take care of my wife before the 9:00 pick up time even though we called ahead of time to make sure we could come and pick it up and they said sure then we get there and they tell us that we have to wait till 9:00 because thats when the pick up was scheduled for just so they can rent out their own rental cars two other people stay away from these people we have filed complaints with everyone and anyone against this company and hopefully they will lose any privileges they have to even be tied with Budget Rentals. By All rights being a mechanic myself was not even worthy to go down the road. pretty sad when the customer has to do the maintenance on the vehicle that theyre renting whats even worse is when youre going down I-20 in the hood blows open run people run

Had a hard time finding a rental on Wednesday. Apparently, midweek is a bad time in general to rent a car. Thankfully, when I called and spoke to AAR in Bossier City they had plenty available. My expectations were high as I’m used to Enterprise’s service & quality. Boy was I let down! Checking in curbside was a breeze. The employee who helped me was pretty professional - until his wife showed up and was hanging all over him, at his computer station, while I sat and watched from the parking lot as he processed my order. Then I got in my car. It immediately smelled like smoke. The headliner was heavily soiled. I called twice about both those issues, within 20 minutes from leaving! Next, as I was buckling my child seat in I noticed trash - loosely sitting under the driver seat. It’s not like the vacuum handle shoved it underneath the seat. It was plain as day - a scratch off lottery ticket, a beauty store receipt and a twist off beer cap. There are little crumbs/sand/ashes or something in almost every cubby/storage area. Gum or candy is stuck to two spots - one in the rear carpet and one in the door console pocket. The trunk even has dried grass and dead leaves all across the floor. It’s insane! No wonder they had plenty of vehicles available. And there wasn’t a great selection to choose from - about 2 dozen of the same little Nissan Sentras in various colors. I just hope they reply to the email I sent this morning or handle up if/when I decide to return it early.

These guys saved Thanksgiving for us. Where other rental places said no - American Auto Rental said yes & set us up with the perfect choice for our family.

They informed me while I was in the parking lot, 10 minutes before my pick up time, that they didn’t have my truck OR any other truck for that matter available. Also extremely rude on the phone. Wow wow wow. Guess we’re a uhaul family now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I will give American Auto Rental at least a 2 star for being very easy to rent but the cleanliness of their cars, is ridiculous! I have a video and I have pics of this filthy car. I will never rent from them again. Theres a dent in the hood, a scratch on the door, the rubber is coming of the door, the seats ARE STAINED and the car smells like a dirty motel or something. The employees were very nice until I told them about the dirty car. I was actually frustrated because of the nastiness. YUCK. I asked the two ladies if I was going to have a problem with the motor once I got on interstate or was I going to lose the hubcap or tire because this car was a shocker. I could have gotten my money back but it was going to be inconvenient for me at this, so I have to deal with it...but you best believe I will never drive another one of American Auto Rental Cars, EVER unless they start charging $100 for a nasty car. Oh I didnt mention my first car that I took back because the tint on the back window was filled with bubbles from I guess the heat and I COULD NOT see out my rear view window plus I wear glasses. I mean really...but somebody did come in and rent it...god bless them. But like I said in the beginning its VERY EASY TO RENT A CAR AT THIS PLACE.

Derocho is an excellent manager. Always friendly and easy to work with. This place comes in handy when you are attempting to borrow a vehicle. The pricing is fair. The cars may not be new or may have some skents and dents, but they run well and if there is an issue or if youre not happy employees are quick to attempt to accommodate within the best of theyre ability.

Very nice and professional establishment my experience was awesome they have my business I used to deal with budget and enterprise for years and they change up so much making it hard to get rentals now if your license not valid in state you living you have to have a major credit card or have a plane ticket .....when I walked in this location I walked out with a rental they accepted my debit card and my out of state license with no problem I will recommend them to everyone I will rent from them for now on out when I need to go out of town at last minute thanks again American Auto Rental!!

Very bad experience...wife and I had a reservation for 3 days. I went into the office to pick up my reserved car and Valerie was confronted by her peers and boss as to whether I had brought a utility bill in to show proof of residency. Valerie claimed she advised me and my wife that to bring the utility bill in when in fact she didnt. It wasnt until she was confronted in front of her peers and was put on the spot that she realized she forgot to put that piece out. Instead of admitting her fault, she insisted on blaming myself and my wife. Ill never do business with these folks again!!! Its one thing to make an honest mistake but to place blame on a customer when you KNOW youre in the wrong is another.

If you are looking to get screwed, this is the place to go! I reserved a truck for my out of state move and 16 hours before I was supposed to pick it up, they called to say, “Sorry, we don’t have any trucks.” I called 2 other companies to explain my situation, and without even having to tell them, they knew exactly who I had been dealing with! That says a lot!

Two weeks ago I made reservation a truck.Pick up day 8:30am. I called there for Im late. A staff said to me Ok, truck already ready.After 2 hours I went there.A woman said to me, we try to fix truck but we can not. Just call customer service center then gave me wrong number.I was search Budget Truck customer center website.I moved other state.Every each hour I called customer center. Each time whait someone will call you that day around 9pm. Install manager call me. Tomorrow moning truk will be ready for you.Guess what nobody call me.Im going to Sue

Not good service.

Rented a car and had to switch it out due to bald tires and lack of air conditioning. Now I am 8 hours away on a trip and the REPLACEMENT car has a flat and I am stranded because there is no customer service phone number on the weekends. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will not be renting from this place again.
