Great Location! and the rental process was surprisingly quick, there is always a great selection of cars and more importantly the genuine friendly smiles & service from John and Oz makes it a pleasant experience. They always go out of there way to give me the best deals if I need to keep the car an extra day its no problem.

Stay Away!! Worst rental place ever, and thats saying a lot. They never have the car that you reserve. The last time I was there was the absolute final straw. They didnt have the class of vehicle I reserved and tried to put me into a smaller suv. Luckily, the people ahead of me who had ordered a van, which they didnt have any vans available, decided not to take the Pathfinder, so I was able to get it. I asked if the car had recently been serviced because I was taking it on a long road trip. The guy there assured me that it had JUST been serviced, which is the old song and dance they always say. My boyfriend asked to check the oil and guess what....it was as dark as the guys coffee. So he tells me he will take off some money from the rental if I go and change the oil myself, which I ended up having to do, which had me start my long drive much later than I wanted to.Once I returned the car, I gave him the bill for the oil change and he said it would come off the price of the rental. Well, I never received the credit and had to call corporate to get the credit for the oil change that I had to do.Now over a month after I returned the car, I just got a letter in the mail saying they are going to charge me $125 for an excessive cleaning fee for dirt and sand. I have never in my life returned a car excessively dirty. There was some sand and dirt on the outside, but that can easily come off with a hose when they wash it, the inside was perfectly fine.Absolutely never again will I go to this place and I suggest anyone reading this to do the same.

Staff was extremely rude to say the least! When I arrived an older man was coming out as I was walking in. The first thing he said to me was Youre late everything is closed computers are off! I was confused on whether he was a customer or a staff member til he told me he works there and that I was late. He kept telling me too bad your late you cant get a car. I made my reservation online for 6:00, but apparently because they close at 6:00, the staff is entitled to closing down whenever they please. I arrived 10 min before 6:00 even though I made my reservation through the Avis website. Im disgusted with the employees attitudes and most of all the disrespect! I dont appreciate being yelled at and disrespected by a grown man, especially in front of my daughter! This employee wasnt even in uniform and wasnt a manager. The manager on duty inside was just as bad! Horrible experience!

I decided to get a car for one day. So I got a last minute call to check if anything available. The guy gave me a good price and very quickly service. So in one hour I was able to pick the car and enjoy the ride. The deal was very affordable.

Rented a mini van for a week. Upon driving out, I realized that one of the tires had only 18 psi of air. Also went to use the windshield washer, to find out that it was empty. When I called their office to exchange it, I was told that they did not have any other minivans, forcing me to drive to the airport, go into the terminal, and exchange the vehicle. When I was exiting with the new vehicle, I was told that the Avis agent in the terminal made an error as the vehicle did not match the number on the paperwork. This could not be corrected by the Avis agent at the exit point, forcing me to go back into the terminal and wait in line. When returning the vehicle at the end of the week, I noticed that I had been charged an additional $18 for the gas that was used in the original vehicle due to my driving 30 miles to the airport. The agent in the Boca Raton office could not care less, and said he did not have the ability to take these charges off. I expected better from this company starting with not renting unsafe vehicles, and ending with horrible customer service.

What a rip off. Go to enterprise instead at least their cars are safe to drive. The Kia Sorento they gave me was not equipped to be on the road. They never inspected the car before I got it. They simply washed it and gave it to me. Something was definitely wrong with the tires! It was a bit shaky when I was driving. I did not return the car because I had my neighbor who’s a mechanic check it out and he said it’s okay to drive local, no highway so that’s what I did. I don’t have time to waste driving back and forth from lake worth to boca for something they should of done right. Also, there was no fluid for the windshield wiper. It literally said it on the dashboard but no one bothered to look. I returned the car 4 hours later than the original time and was charged an absurd amount of money. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I’ve rented cars from Enterprise many times and they would work out prices, cars etc. for me (a customer).

I have made a reservation and when I went to pick it up not only they didnt have the car but the person at the register did not even know how to make a transaction using a debit card. On their website they explain that when using a debit card a deposit is witheld and a credit check is made. He was not aware of this, and he was confused when it asked for a pin because usually I just slide it and it works.Doesnt Avis provide some basic training?So I contacted the 1800 customer service number with hopes that maybe they might be able to take him step by step through this complex process but after being on hold for more than 30 minutes, the place was closed.I should have definitely checked the reviews.Save yourself the trouble and wasted time.

We booked the car online at the rediculous low rental price offered . My wife, Ilonka and I walked into the office and every chair was occupied. We went to the desk and were received by John Oliphant who may have the best attitude and personality to be doing such a job. He was pleasant, sincere and in great humor. It was a absolute delight dealing with him and AVIS regardless of the going rate. We will never shop around again as this will always be our go to rental agency. Price is important but in the day we live in, nothing beats feeling good when you go into a business and feeling even better upon leaving. We applaud this gentleman and will always refer any friends and colleagues to his agency. Thank you for the best service from the best employee. Richard and Ilonka

I rented twice in Boca. Both times the car came with less than a full tank. 7/8 and 3/4. The 3/4 said full on the agreement and I had to have it changed. Not good. Also, both times I had to give back gas. Impossible to use specific amount. Almost like a scam.

I called the day ahead to confirm they had my vehicle since I was going on 10 day road trip. I had to make a few changes to my reservation online which made it really easy, had to extend the rental. I did pre checkin online which was easy and convenient. Once I arrived within 5 minutes I got my vehicle and was ready to hit the road. Its been a long time since I rented a car and it was very convent and easy. Will definitely use them again. Staff very professional and friendly also.

The first car they offered was Stinky and high milage. It should not have been in he fleet. If I brought it home to my wife she would have rightfully bit my hea off. They provided me with an upgraded vehicle with a small daily up charge. Then, the new vehice had only 1/3 of a tank of gas, so I had to call to get the records corrected. This cause me to Give them about 7-8 gallons of gas becuase I had to guess how much I would use on the last day of rental. The staff was very cordial and prompt.Update: I received the below response from Avis and sent them the email they requested. Its been a week and No response. Looks like an opportunity for improvement

Awesome little hidden gem of a place. Laid back and very nice staff. But that super friendly John is always on vacation! 😊 they have a wide variety of vehicles, I just rented a Ford Fusion they had adaptive cruise control, active forward Collision mitigation warning, blind spot monitoring and Lane departure warning. Plus it was a hybrid and it was 2020 and newer. Hes got all the good stuff, but hes usually in the keys on his jet skis

When I rented the car, the man who rented it to me said that he was, and I qoute, giving me a BS rate which amounted to being over $200 dollars for three days. Not only that but the car was given to me with the gas tank 1/2 full and upon returning it I had to fill the tank completely, so not only did they scam me on price they ripped me off for gas as well. DO NOT rent from these thieves and con-artists. I will be reporting IMMEDIATELY to BBB.

I am beyond disgusted with Avis and especially this location. I rented a car for a week and paid over $200 for a basic car. When I went to return it there was a tiny bit of dog hair on the back seat. It wasnt even from my dog. It was from a blanket I took out of my broken car and had in the rental car for a day. They told me they were going to charge me $150. There was no damage or stains or anything disrespectful done to this vehicle. God knows I paid enough for the week use of the car that I should not have to worry about cleaning it before I return it. I was on call at the hospital and had to get to work. But now I had to go to a gas station and vacuum the car and bring it back gleaming clean while the guys at Avis stood around their shop vac doing nothing. Of course things never go easily when in these situations. The card reader wouldnt work. So I had to go get cash and then wait in line to get quarters. The first vacuum I paid for didnt have almost any suction. So I had to go back on and get more quarters to use the second vacuum. Its also over 90 degrees at this point in the day. I returned the car gleaming clean. As I was leaving I saw the guy whose job it is to clean the car holding the vacuum in one hand not really vacuuming the freshly vacuumed clean car and holding a phone in his other hand talking to a friend. I took a video in case anyone from Avis is curious to see what they pay their staff for. This was also after I tried to call Avis to extend the rental for an entire month and I could not get customer service. So Avis, Sixt has your business that you did not care to have for a month of rental! I will NEVER EVER use Avis again. EVER.

I booked online for a particular price. The price went up when I got to the agency, but I was assured it would be the amount I booked for online when I turned the car in. I kept the car 2 extra days and price went up over $100. It was perfectly absurd and even the guy at the rental return counter couldnt figure it out. Plus the car had an overwhelming odor of cigarette smoke. I had to wear a mask for the entire 2 hour ride to and from my destination. Overall, not a very pleasant experience.

Lousy car; was smelling of cigarette smoke; had a bad rear tire into the trip; couldnt get AVIS location in area to swap the car; had to call roadside assistance, who in turn, called AVIS store performance manager, who in turn, called AVIS store and forced them to swap the car. Rear tire was wobbling due to either air pressure or bad wheel bearings. Avis agent insisted it wasnt a problem to drive the car, completely ignoring liability to occupants or AVIS. Terrible experience.

STAY AWAY! Terrible Customer Service. Dont rent a car from Avis at this location. My Mother is not very good with computers so I booked this car online weeks in advance for her to use while she was on vacation in Florida. I did get a good online price for the car one of the few good things about this rental experience. When my mom got to this location they refused to Rent her the car because the names and credit card used didnt match,etc. I had used my credit card to book it online. The Avis rep at this location wanted to see the credit card that was used to reserve the car online. When she asked if he could just modify the reservation now that she was at the location ready to pickup the car using her credit card, or just cancel the order and setup a new order using her credit card but matching the online price. He refused told her his computers were down. Question if his computers were really down then how did he know what credit card was used to reserve the rental??? When she pointed this out to him, he became rude and even less helpful. Still trying to work something out with him because it was 2PM on a Sunday afternoon and few car rental places nearby were still open. She went along with his down computer story. She offered to call the Avis 1-800 number setup a new reservation using her credit card and have the 1-800 Rep call him back verify the new reservation because his computers were down. He couldnt be bothered to help. He wouldnt even try to come up with a workable solution just terrible customer service at this location. I called Avis 1-800 number and the 1-800 Rep was understanding and was trying to come up with a solution. He offered to rent her a car at the Avis Airport location because it was Sunday and that was the only location that was open past 4PM. However, I was done at that point and just wanted to cancel the order. He waived the $150 cancellation fee which I appreciated. In the end, Mom called another car Rental company and reserved a car for pickup the next day. AWFULL. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN. The vehicle we received had serious mechanical issues, and if I drove it instead of my boyfriend we would of been dead without exaggeration. When I addressed the issue to the management I was ignored and disrespected. I will call DOT to report unsafe vehicle on the road, and BBB to report the treatment I received from the management. I have rented AVIS vehicles before and never had any issues prior to this, and absolutely didnt deserve to be ignored and disrespected.

The car was clean, the agent was very pleasant and gave an upgrade. I was treated with a smile and it was easy to find the Avis location. This was all good.When I got the car I was told the extra insurance was around $63. Upon returning it I was charged around $95. I was displeased and the agent could not explain to me why the difference.

Zero problems with pickup, return, or with the car itself. Best prices & deals and extremely reliable. Super simple to modify the reservation too (I changed the location and time and got a refund for the difference), and plenty of locations everywhere I need for a flexible trip.

Horrendous. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and deliberately unhelpful. They tell you one thing, and then it ends up being completely wrong. At which point they are either too incompetent or lazy to be of any real assistance at all. Avoid. Wont be renting with Avis or Budget again, whichever one they decide they are that day. Absolute loser staff, bottom of the barrel company across the board. Whoever owns this place should literally fire all the employees. Especially the ones scheduled the afternoon of 10/8/2020.

Ive always loved Avis until this experience, and it was so horrendous that I will have to opt for Enteprise next time.1) I reserved a specific car good for gas mileage through the customer service number. When I got there I was told they dont have my car and that I need to call customer service so they can give me a refund.2) I say no I dont have a ride, I Ubered here, I need my reservation. So then he starts to take my reservation. But then sees I have a debit card and says he cant accept debit cards. I tell him I always use debit cards at Avis and am okay with the extra hold being placed on the card and he tells me no again. After asking again he then says he will accept the debit card but he needs a 2nd form of ID. I show him my personal drivers license and he still says he needs a utility bill. I reply thats an inconvenience but pull up my electric utility bill on my phone and show him. He then tells me that he needs it printed out and cant accept an electronic version. Which makes no sense.3) I ask him what I can do because Ive never had to go through these hoops before to get a rental and he stops talking to be completely and just stands there ignoring me and not answering.4) About 30 min in now,I call customer service and they apologize on the employees behavior but do not do anything. They then tell me I should go to another location to pick up a car, thats when I have to remind their own customer service that this store is already closed now and I also dont have a ride. They say the employee can request a utility bill at their discretion (which makes no sense and has unfair treatment written all over it), and that the employee doesnt have to accept an electronic utility bill (even though the policy says you only have to show a utility bill, not print a paper copy of a utility bill).5) During my call with customer service the employee starts yelling at other customers (an older couple that has been waiting for an hour). Even though they had a reservation. He tells them to come back tomorrow, which of course they cant do. He tells them then that he had another car but theyd have to pay extra for it.6) The older couple ask for his name and he refuses to give it to them and starts ignoring them as well.7) My phone dies waiting on customer service to do anything (which they still didnt). Customer service said that franchises can make their own rules and I should go to another location. I try to tell the employee that now my phone is dead and I have no way to get anywhere, and he says oh well. I then ask a different customer that just arrives if I can borrow their phone charger and he tells the lady to not talk to me if she knows whats best. So she stops talking. When he walks outside I explain to her the situation and she says something when he comes back in.8) After the other lady says something to the employee he finally says hell give me a car (which Im still confused because he originally first said he didnt have my car). He then mumbles the entire time he enters my information and asks himself if he should really do it or not.9) The other older couple have their car but come back to ask a question and he doesnt unlock the door and talks to them through the glass for even though they tell him they cant hear him multiple times. He eventually opens the door and answers their question.10) I get my car finally, and instead of a compact car its a Nissian Rogue which is not the car that I reserved.11) The employee never gives me the opportunity to walk around the car and mark any existing damage. I dont get any paper at all to mark anything.12) I get in the car and it smells like wet dog, I look in the back seat and there is dog hair covering the entire back seat.13) Fast forward to returning the car, I luckily get the store manager who is surprisingly very nice and personable. He apologizes but that still doesnt fix the horrible experience your employee is giving multiple customers, at the end management is responsible for the hiring the correct employees.

Horrible experience. Worst rental car place - do not waste your money. First car they gave me was dirty w check engine light on. Second car was keyed down the entire side of the car. The third has engine maintenance required light on. Such a rip off. Old cars and dirty. I have rented cars for 15 years and never have had such a bad experience.

I called ahead and asked if the Avis attendent could please come outside and we do the paperwork outside since I am immunocompromised from a type of chemotherapy. Avis guy says, nope. Youre the one who needs the car. I am not coming to the door. I tried to explain again, but I get chemotherapy. He says hold on, puts me on hold and never comes back to the line. I held until the automated system didnt let me hold anymore and the mailbox was full (15minutes). So needless to say, I am already a little upset when I get there. Come-on, you cant come to the door for an immunocompromised nurse who takes care of immunocompromised cancer patients. Im just trying to limit my exposure and yes, I had to rent the car and I am single and live alone so I had to rent it. Anyway, get to the store, low and behold there is a another rentee walking around in this small enclosed office without a mask. Sign on the door says mandatory masks because this is in Boca Raton which, guess what, is in Palm Beach county which has a countywide ordinance for mandatory mask bc our numbers our through the roof! So if you cannot accommodate my immunocompromised status, you sure as hell better not be letting people in your office without masks on. If you look at my Google reviews, you will note I have alot of reviews and views and I rate almost everything a 4 or a 5. Well, not this time. I will also post a complaint with Avis. I have given this Avis alot of business but not anymore. Ruthless, selfish, and downright negligent customer service. Oh, and my disinfected, wiped down car, was so clean that the previous drivers paperwork was still in it!! 🤬😷😳

By far thee worst car rental place. The car I booked had a bad tire, I caught a flat tire and had to go out my way to a nearest airport. Might I ask I had my children in the car as well. So when I return I had a bill of 567.00 that was charge. I was also over charged in mileage. I do not recommend this car rental to anyone. I gave it a star because Of John very cool and great personality.

Service is horrible! I had preferred pickup and after forty minutes the clerk acknowledged me after taking someone else first that was behind me. He upgraded the car bc I had to wait at his choice but gave me the dirtiest car I’ve ever rented and added navigation of $150 which I specifically declined. When I returned the car and told him how dirty it was his response was “ well did you clean it before you brought it back”. I said no, he replied “then it’s a win-win. Really? This guy is horrible and the place is understaffed.

There is a guy who works there. Not sure if hes a manager or an employee but tall wearing glasses. Very helpful and friendly. He always makes things simple and easy for customers. The store is a little bit small but a great location and they always have decent vehicles. Normally i dont do surveys or rating but i just wanted to say how great customer services i have been experiencing are.I didnt catch his name but i want to thank him - a tall guy with glasses!!! 🤓

I am adding to this review and changing it to 3 stars because John the manager took care of everything the following day. He was very nice. Here is the original:If I could give zero stars, I would. Worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life. After being misinformed by the national number, the man at this location yelled at me and shut the door in my face. When I called to let someone know, I got a lot of Im sorry and I understand, but was offered no resolution or compensation for my inconvenience and aggravation. I now have to rearrange a work day to return a key to this car. I do reviews often when I get awesome service and I do not think I have ever done a one star review (not a complainer), but in this case it is a public service. Do NOT go to this location. It was AWFUL. This man should be ashamed for treating a customer this way. No worries though, I will not be a customer of your anymore.

I was overcharged by more than double. I had a signed contract for $275 for the rental. I discovered Avis wrongfully overcharged me $605. I immediately called the local Avis locatrion - no answer. When I called again, my called roilled to a national customer service number - auto attended - eventually routed to customer service - no answer. I went to my local Avis location - they produced my signed contract for $275 but could not fix the problem - not authorized. When I called another customer service number that they provided I was eventually after severally long delays on hold told that Avis would return the money that they had NO RIGHT to take in the first place with in 3 to 5 business days. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! Avis managed to take the funds instantaneously bu refused to return them within the same time frame. I was extremely frustrated but was offered NO compensation of any kind (a free upgrade on my next rental). I am still waiting for the credit to hit my account.

Went to swap cars because of issue with car vibrating at speeds over 40. We were given push back and were talked down to and rudely. You are providing a service and representing Avis. I am surprised that Avis allows you to use their name. We will be using National from now on. We have Always had great service using them.

This Avis is a 5 star location. The customer service is top notch. They always have the right car for me and I am in and out in less than 5 min even when its busy. The vehicles are new and are fully loaded unlike the other car rental agencies in the area. Clean and hassle free. I have recommended this Avis to my friends and family.

Their computers were down and they didnt have the car I reserved. When I brought back the car they gave me, I was told he couldnt do any better on the price which was way more than what I would have paid if I reserved the same class car online. Frustrating. When I picked up the car I was told he would fix the rate and get me a discount for the inconvenience. I had the car for two days and when I can back, he didnt remember me at all and I didnt get any discount.

I usually have a great time renting with Avis, but this location was a nightmare. While on vacation I had issues with two different vehicles they gave me. When taking the cars back to swap for a new one the employees were rude and gave me a hard time. This location needs to do a better job at maintaining the vehicles and ensuring they are road safe, one car had three tires that were over-inflated to unsafe levels. Once I returned the 3rd vehicle which was issue free I found on my receipt that they charged me for services I did not sign up for, thankfully customer service took them off my bill when I called.

Avis: We Try Harder.....right....SMH.Three months ago, I reserved a Premium SUV for a business trip. On the day of the reservation, I was called by the location to inform me that type of vehicle was unavailable. In discussing, I was told that if I could wait a day, one would be returned and could have that. Fortunately I was flexible enough to be able to wait a day. In all fairness, the Yukon I got was very nice. So nice, in fact, I decided to rent it (or similar) for my family vacation.I made a reservation for a Premium SUV (Suburban or similar) for my vacation last month.Two weeks ago, I contacted this location to confirm that the vehicle would be available, that I would not have the same flexibility as last time. I clearly stated my need for a full sized premium suv.The manager stated that he flagged the reservation confirmed to ensure a smooth transaction.Today, two hours before the scheduled time to pick up the rental, I get a call. There are no Premium SUVs available on his lot or nearby; but he did have a smaller SUV he was holding for me.After a stressful morning calling all the other agencies in my area (between Palm Beach Airport and Fort Lauderdale Airport), I found what I needed at Enterprise. It cost me almost $350 more than I had originally reserved at Avis, but I had no choice at this point.So my question is: What exactly does a Reservation mean at AVIS?I dont care to try again to find out.

The worker I meet there is the worst possible.I had a reservation for small car which they didn’t have in stock upon arrival they trued to charge me another 200 bucks for a bigger car. When I called Avis on the phone they told me their policy requires them to give me another car at the reservation price I had already prepaid. I can back to Inform the guy at the front desk that I had spoke with corporate and that’s what they told me and when I did do the worker kicked me out of the store and told me he will call police for me trespassing.I will not provide Avis with my money ever again.

I would highly recommend not renting a car from Avis or at least from this location. I attempted to rent a car and then decided against it. However, the woman behind the counter already had swiped my credit card and charged over $1,000 on my card. I was not told this would happen by the Avis employee. I feel that this constituted a violation of ethics and I would not do business with this company again. I am writing this review because I believe that we as consumers need to start making companies who treat us like this pay in the market place.

Don’t go here if I could give it negative starts I would. My friend came in on time to rent a car, unfortunately she did not have the original credit card, when she tried to pay with her debit card the teller took one look at the card and said it was fake because it was bent. When we asked what made him say that he stated it had no seal and the plastic was raised, (due to the bend) he all of a sudden became a card specialist, he then suggested we go get a temporary card, we did that we were told the temporary would not have her name on it. At the bank we were assured the card was not fake and there is a chip and that with the chip that verifies yur identity, the Manager of Bank of America confirmed that, She called Avis and informed him and he stated they won’t accept the temporary card, even though he was the one that stated she should go get a temporary. We went all the way to north palm beach to get another credit card that she had when we came back he stated he cannot rent the car because we tried to give him a card that was fake. We were prejudged based on skin tone, because she was black he assumed we were committing fraud, we both educated degree holding African Americans, were prejudged for having a bent card that Erick the teller or shall I say “card specialist” stated was fake because he’s “used to dealing with these kind of fake cards from people”. Don’t go here if yu are black with a bent card.
