When I got my case transferred to the Bloomington area from Aurora and they denied my case because their website was down and I was in able to submit the spouse support with our boys. I submitted it finally when I first got transferred because some one answered and helped me get into managing my case. So they told me what I needed to send and everything, so after submitting it on the November 23 I believe it was they decided to deny me November 30th and no one has answered my calls since then and I have 2 boys to feed and I am not working yet. I’ve left messages and the head office has even emailed them twice and no one has called me yet and I can’t do anything with anyone else because Bloomington area denied me can only control my case right now but no one is helping me.

The man that works there behind the desk is the rudest most hateful man Ive ever came across in my life, he makes the workers at the DMV seem like absolute angels which makes him a very bad individual, one of these days I hope he gets treated the way he treats people that come in. Why do they employ people like him? Someone suicidal would definitely be pushed over the edge by this terrible man, some are disabled people who do have psych issues, treat others the way you want to be treated. Get rid of that hateful man!!

Took my father here so he could get my step mom signed up for medicaid. The first day west went the office woman was wonderful. She was very kind, helpful and understanding. The next time we went there was a young man working the window and he was rude, inconsiderate and I have no idea why he works there because it is obvious that he hates people. Thank goodness by the time we got to the window the nice lady was in and opened a second window and took care of us.

The staff is always helpful and seem to know what they are talking about. However, the lines are always insane. I have spent 4 hours in there at times. I never get calls back either. It would be nice if sometimes you could hold and wait on a case worker to talk to on the phone. I cant make time to go stand in an office for hours after school.

They used to be kind and attentive now not so much, the most unprofessional person there is this heavyset woman whos office is in the back she is a brunette wears glasses and looks sweaty. She is not qualified to work with people and a very rude personality. The best person to work with is this african american man mid 40s and very professional and kind he doesnt always say what I like hearing but at least he isnt rude with it and actually calls back.

This office starts taking walk-in’s at 8 am even though the door and website say they open at 8:30 am. I went in person a total of 3 times (twice just to drop off paperwork and ask for an update) and on the third visit my concerns were addressed because I had time to see a caseworker. The case worker was helpful and proactive by renewing another benefit that was near expiration. Had she not done this I would have been right back in the office a week or so later. From the time I got in line until the time I left was just shy of 2 hours (1 hr. 57 minutes). My experience calling: I have called and left messages with no return call. Another reviewer said you have to press the pound (#) key after you record your voice message to send it. I have not tried this yet, but plan to if I have to call again to see if I get a return call. I only received a call when a caseworker had a question about my case (after I went in person twice to make sure they had everything they needed). There seems to be a technical issue involving the ability to view documents that are uploaded online. There also seemed to be some question of how some caseworkers handle a case compared to another. The only advice I have is to go early (8am) and ask to speak to a caseworker in person if issues arise or you have not heard back from them in 30 days. They also say they stop taking walk-in’s at a certain point (Maybe after 2:30-3 pm?). I also don’t know how you would verify this because the phones are not answered. Keep record and copies of all the things you submit to them, if possible ask for a receipt when you turn documents in to cover all of your bases.

I filled out my application on the internet so it could be faster because my situation was an emergency but instead they took more than one month and till this day they have not approved the medical card with with a one year old and a new born i went to that office more than once and waited more than one hour and the only thing they know what to say was that they would help This was one of the Worst experience.

Its simple they want us to starve out. They cut off benefits without a notice, you spend months trying to speak to anyone while slowly wasting away. Im 118 lbs now and a walking corpse, another month or two this office will have my emaciated body on their hands. Who cares we mentally ill dont have rights.

The people that work there are rude. The waiting area is dirty and smelled terrible. If one of the lights flickered and you smear some fake blood on the wall, it would be a perfect set for a zombie movie. Its just very uncomfortable. Which is sad because some of the people that go there, genuinely need help. They are scared and alone and need hello, and then they go to this office and deal with the rude people and everything. Really sad over all. Its a perfect example of a lot of bad apples ruining the bunch. The people that abuse the system make the workers lose empathy for anyone and they just assume everyone is an abuser. But let me get off my soap box... Its a government office... of course its bad. Its like the dmv times 10.

Went there to find out what is going on with my case I got there and waited for almost 3 hours before I got up and left. I got there gave my information and people that came in after I did were seen before me. What is the point of any order if they dont follow it what I needed literally only took 30 seconds to get I came back the next day to get it but I live in a different county and live almost 40 minutes away. Really inconvenient when they cant answer the phones
