Tried to get a state safety inspection, and got turned away since I didn’t have an appointment and they were all booked up… okay understandable, so I made an appointment and waited 2 weeks for the inspection only to still get turned away for being booked up even though I had an appointment. I’d consider choosing a place that actually values your time when getting an inspection, this place isn’t worth your time

Please do not use their service. If I could give a 0 star, I would. They are extremely irresponsible and disorganized. I went in for a state inspection at which they discovered one of the lights were out and need to be replaced. They promised to have the part in 2-3 days, then 4-5 days, then 1 week, and then 2 weeks. I stopped by them everyday after the inspection to ask and they kept saying theyre still waiting for the part but it will be fixed in 2 weeks. I ended up going to the local dealership to get the part fixed in time because of the 2-week deadline for the re-inspection. They promise but dont deliver. Dont go there.

I have tried every shop in Blacksburg and I have never been satisfied until I went here. They were on time and communicated well! Highly recommend!

I had my chevy cruze worked on at auto experts. The dealership had worked on it many times and the problems continued. They quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the turbo booster and oil cooler and the car now runs great. The service was fast and the mechanics are very knowledgeable. Even the service manager was pleasant to work with. I would much rather give my business to a family owned company with years of experience than a large dealership who just makes you feel like your part of an assembly line in the service department. I would highly recommend Auto Experts.

Ive been taking my car here for a couple years and love it. Reasonably priced, honest, and fast. They even patched a flat tire for me free of charge. The location is super convenient for VT students to walk to from campus.

The folks at Auto Experts in Blacksburg, Virginia were excellent to deal with! I unexpectedly had a flat tire while on vacation visiting in Blacksburg. Stopped in just by happen chance as they were next door to where I filled my tire with air. They quickly fixed my flat tire and had me on my way within 10 minutes! Couldnt ask for any better service than that!

Im pretty picky when it comes to mechanics, but the Auto Experts guys have always impressed me as honest and friendly. They are easy to work with, especially for those that like to do their own OBD scans or install used/self-provided parts. They dont try to overcharge and will actually tell you if something doesnt need to be done or if they dont specialize in it. There is a fully stocked parts store right next door, and their labor rates are very fair.

BE CAREFUL! I would give this mechanic store zero-star if I could. I stopped by this place in August 2018 to check my right side braking system and also do the oil change after I moved here. I told them I just changed the new braking rotor and pads recently. However, I heard some noises on the right side after three days of travel, and I asked them to check my braking system. They checked my braking system and told me everything is good and I dont need to worry. However, I kept hearing some noises during the past couple of months and I finally decided to check my car again at a different mechanic. It shows that my parking brake shoes are broken, and the braking rotor is also damaged. I end up paying 400 dollars to replace all of them again! I am very frustrated about this since I could save my money if Auto Experts detected the problems of my brake shoes in August. Due to their faults, I end up paying another 400 dollars to replace the braking rotor again within 4 months! How could you guys be so irresponsible? Is this the way how you guys do business?

These guys were extremely helpful and honest. I arrived having about a 30 minute window to find and fix a coolant leak. Jake came out and did just that in 15 minutes. Saved my butt and only cost me about $20. Definitely recommend!

There are good people in this world and my experience today at Auto Experts proves it!! Im in town visiting my Hokie when my indicator light comes on telling me I have low coolant. Im a mom, I know nothing of cars! I happen to need gas and so I asked at the gas station if they had auto coolant but they didnt. The saleswoman told me to go next door to Auto Experts and said they could help me and boy did they! Greg was very nice to talk to and the other gentleman (and I didnt get his name was also extremely nice in letting me come in before they even opened.) They found that I was just a few ounces low on coolant, they put the coolant in and told me no charge! What a great start to my day! Thank you thank you! Cant recommend enough...theyre amazing!!

The only parts of my experience here that werent bad were the nice fellow at the desk and that they were able to get me in fairly quickly. I took my car in for a bunch of lights illuminating on the dash. They reset the error codes without checking them, and told me if the lights came on again, Id need a new PCM. Not sure how they determined that without even checking the codes, but I was charged $45 and sent on my way. My car started making grinding/womping noises and sounding like it was on the verge of dying by the time I got to Christiansburg. I was afraid to continue driving it so I called them back. The person I talked to told me hed call Harveys and get a quote on a PCM and call me right back. I never heard from anyone there again, which is good, since instead of a new PCM, it turns out I had warped rotors and needed a transmission speed sensor, which another shop was able to figure out by reading the codes. I guess if they had done that, they might not have tried to get me to replace the entire computer in my car for probably a thousand dollars or more. I cant recommend a place that tried to get me to spend a grandiose amount of money on something that wasnt even an issue with my car. I can imagine how delighted Id be to have had the entire computer replaced and STILL have a car that wasnt safe to drive.

Asked for state inspection. Did everything quick and did not charge for many small things. Will recommend it to other people.

Good experience here. Both my sons are VT students/alumni and have had car repairs at this location. No issues with repairs. Costs are reasonable.

I was pleased to find Auto Experts! Jay was very nice to deal with and honest! We had taken our car to another shop to get a new water pump and the price seemed very high! Auto Experts had a much better price and the work was done quickly ! They recommended we also get a belt replaced along with water pump - I could not afford that at this time and they were not upset ! We will use Auto Experts while my son continues at Virginia Tech!

Been taking my car there for a few years. Very honest and straightforward. Really like them. The shop is owned in part by the same people that own The Bug Shop.

When I got my car back from them it had scratches on it. Fortunately they weren’t severe scratches, they were just light scratches that I was able to rub off. Still very disappointing that they would treat someone else’s property like that. If they take anything apart, they won’t put it back together properly. They will originally quote you one price, then go up & up when you actually get to the shop. Only reason I give two stars is because the people were nice.

Ive had good experiences here. They get me in quickly, and I dont feel like Ive ever been overcharged. They do exactly what I ask and no more, but thats usually what Im looking for (cheapest fix possible).

I got an oil change the day before spring break and despite them being swamped, I got my oil changed quickly and a headlight replaced and it was SUPER cheap. Plus, the staff is always extremely kind and helpful.

Awesome experience! Brough my 1986 Porsche 944 in because the temp gauge was reading high and my heater stopped working. I was worried I mightve had a head gasket leak, but the guys at Auto Experts quickly took my car in and found out that the coolant had ICE forming in it! Guess the PO didnt mix the antifreeze appropriately. They were able to flush and refill the cooling system and I was in and out in an hour. Pricing was fair as well, didnt feel like they took advantage of me at all and they were clear in explaining everything over the phone. 100% recommend!

I went in for an inspection and my car failed due to brake issues that they could not be clear about. The very same year before I had failed inspection due to brakes and the brakes were all replaced including the master cylinder which they said needed replaced. They bled the brakes and charged me $40 bucks to do it and quoted me almost $500 to fix it for inspection.Sounded fishy to me so I took it back to my regular mechanic in Christiansburg for an inspection which he passed no problem. He wondered how it was possible for them to bleed the brakes when the bleed nipples were broken off!I wont bring my car anywhere near this place anytime in the future and I would not recommend it to anyone. I guess its possible they are not crooks and that they just have a stickler of a mechanic who fails anything that is not in show room condition. But regardless dont go there for an inspection.

Do not take your car in just to get it checked. They will charge you just for looking at it. Its $74 an hour regardless of whether any auto service is done or not. Sadly, they dont even tell you upfront. Beware!

Went in for inspection, and they couldnt check the brakes due to needing a wheel lock key for my Civic. Ive never had to change a tire on the thing, but no mechanic Ive ever taken it too has had that problem--I assume a good mechanic has the tools need to change a damn tire. Well, they told me that it would cost me $80 and an additional $4 a lugnut (5 lugnuts per wheel, 4 wheels), so I dont tons about cars, but I do know $160 to checky brakes as part of routine inspection is absurd and I believe that as a college student they had an easy source of income. So I took it elsewhere (but still had to pay the 16 fee for a failed inspection because they couldnt check the brakes).Tl;dr they wanted to charge me over $150 to remove my tires to check my brakes for inspection. Ripoff.

I have been going out of my way now for two years to bring all of my Hondas to Auto Experts. The Honda knowledge is 2nd to none and the service is the best I could ever hope for. I have a Pilot and Prelude and this is the only team that will ever touch them.
