Dr. Corey Hartman is outstanding. I go to this place once every 8 weeks for a tattoo removal session, he has the best bedside manners and so does all the staff. I highly recommend.

She took great care of me and made sure I understood the next steps. Most importantly she listened to me!!! I had been to so many doctors and I suggested to them I have Lichens. Today was my first appointment with Dr. Hartman. I’ve struggled with acne for the past 6 years and he came up with the perfect plan for me based off my skincare needs. He was phenomenal and he explained everything in detail that we would be doing and made me comfortable. Super nice and professional doctor. So happy I chose Skin Wellness Dermatology.

I saw Dr. Hartman for the first time this afternoon at the recommendation of my current dermatologist (who is likely one of my favorite doctors of all time) and I must say I was impressed. Although I had heard about him through social media, her endorsement is what sold me and he definitely lived up to her praise.From scheduling the appointment (online I might add), to the multiple calls I received from the office regarding my intake information, the front desk staff, and the nurse assisting Dr. Hartman, everyone was efficient and friendly. Dr. Hartman explained everything thoroughly and listened to my concerns and overall goals for my skin. He was efficient without making me feel rushed.

Dr. Hartman and the Skin Wellness team are excellent! Appointments are always on time. I would not go anywhere else for my skincare and dermatology care. Dr. Hartman is always knowledgeable, personable and kind. The new Skin Wellness Center is beautiful and is also a super clean facility. When first meeting a physician as a new patient, I have high yet still very reasonable expectations. I expect an investigative, exploratory consult and friendly pleasantries as a form of relationship building. Dr. Hartman’s chair side manner was not inviting nor informative—it felt dismissive. I expected exploratory questions on my home regimen and personal habits. What I received was a greeting, a curt diagnosis and a treatment plan. Sounds sufficient where my expectations could have at least been met on some basic level, right? Wrong. Although I am fairly confident the treatment plan would catalyze results, Dr. Hartman’s lack of customer service blew it. I am no longer interested supporting the practice nor it’s product lines. I plan to return and receive the treatment I’ve paid for then search for other care. I also find it very indicative that the practice responds to its negative Google reviews with condescension and defensiveness. After my experience today, I do imagine these challenges aren’t limited to me. 🗣Every patient encounter matters.

Great customer service, follow up, and explanation of preventative care and corrective care. Multiple locations for convenience. Book in advance for preventative they fill up quickly.

Dr. Hartman is the best! I was referred to him by a friend and am so glad I went to him. He really is excellent at what he does and my skin looks great! The office is also beautiful.

Dr. Hartman is first rate. He’s very knowledgeable and has a passion for dermatology. He and his staff have a manner about them that makes it clear that they prioritize patients and value their experience.

It shouldnt be that difficult to schedule to see a doctor for your first visit. I was told I can see the nurse practitioner on the 7th and the doctor not until the end of May or July. I said fine, book me for May. The reception then says it wont be until August to see a doctor because you mentioned hair loss. I mentioned excessive shedding during washes, but my main reason for coming was dry irritated scalp. I personally am very disappointed and would never recommend them. I hate i wasnt able to see the doctor after reading so many great reviews; however, I pay too much for insurance to go to somewhere that gives people a hard time when they dontwant to see a NP.

Dr. Hartman’s beside manner is the very worst I have ever experienced and reading the reviews made me post this because he truly does not care. My face never cleared up and he always rushed my visit and never ever listened to my unique needs. Everyone’s skin is not the same.

I am patient of Dr. Dyck. The new location is nice. The design is very classy. Whatever skin care you need, you definitely feel beautiful when you enter and leave. I also appreciate the professionalism and kindness of the staff.

After a car accident and suffering from brain damage, the stress the anxiety and the medications took a tool on my skin. I have been to dermatologist after dermatologist only to be disappointed, all that changed when I made an appointment with Dr Hartman at Skin Wellness Dermatology. Dr. Hartman recognized I had rosacea in the mid area of my cheeks and prescribed two products and cleanser and a toner that would not aggravate my rosacea. My skin is already glowing and I’m very happy I traveled all the way to Alabama to find the best dermatologist and the world. I recommend, the consultation fee was reasonable and worth every penny.

This review is related to my second encounter with Skin Wellness Dermatology and Dr. Hartman. A review of my first encounter can be found below for reference.This afternoon I received a total of four phone calls made personally by Dr. Hartman to my cell phone within 10 minutes, approximately 2 hours following my first online review. Upon taking his fourth call, Dr. Hartman inquired about my negative review of my visit and why I felt I had a negative experience. I explained my grievance, although I did not expect much after the disappointment I experienced. Following me sharing with him, Dr. Hartman proceeded to deny that my perception of my visit was real, explaining that my review felt like a personal attack to him. My review was actually a review of how I perceived him as a professional, which I know can feel quite personal to some. I’m secure enough to accept that his intentions in building a relationship with a new patient just didn’t match my experience. It happens. What I was not prepared for was a physician making multiple calls to defend what ultimately was a fair review. My review was fair because it was honest to what I experienced.Admittedly I expected an inappropriate response to occur because a stakeholder in his office (I cannot confirm if its him or not) has history of making direct responses to negative Google reviews. The responses to other negative reviews can be viewed publicly and they are openly condescending and defensive. Readers: as a consumer I stand beside my review and my decision to share it. I still feel strongly that all patient encounters matter, especially the first one. I would like to encourage Dr. Hartman be open to the possibility that he made mistakes in his chair side manner and tone. Nonetheless, my business is headed elsewhere and my hope is my candid review will help better inform prospective patients when searching for care. I love Dr. Hartman. He’s a great and talented dermatologist.However I had an appointment recently and sat in my truck for 40 minutes waiting to be called in for my appointment. In Alabama heat at 90 plus degrees that is unacceptable. While I was there a woman can out and rudely asked me if I had an appointment. I think she was one of the doctors. They were too busy to see me in a timely manner so I canceled and left.

5 stars plus. Dr. Corey Hartman and staff are the best team in medicine for Dermatology. I have been an RN since 2002 and I have been more than impressed. I can not say enough about how caring and attentive his whole staff are. Dr H is an excellent doctor and I feel only does what is needed to achieve my personal goals. With so many “providers” today claiming to be skin experts- please choose wisely. You can’t get another face so my best advice is choose someone with board certification in dermatology and experience. You can’t fake it till you make it when it comes to someone’s face you know?? Your patients give it all away without saying a word. I am over 40 and don’t want to look 20 years younger I just want the natural skin God gave me to resurface. I have used him for cosmetic and medial insurance needs and his entire office is a team. Love this group

This was my first visit to a dermatologist. Skin Wellness exceeded my expectation. The staff was professional and friendly. I had all my questions and concerns addressed. They have so many products and services that will keep me healthy and beautiful as I walk slowly down that mountain of life.

It was a wonderful experience! I was taken back within five minutes of entering. I had a female doctor and I really really liked her. She was very very thorough. I will return when needed and then for our yearly appointment. I am so glad they are here!

My experience at the Skin Wellnes Dermatology was excellent. I felt that all protocols were handle in a professional manner.

The issue was the doctor did not want to hear from me directly concerning an update from my last visit. In normal practices, the nurse take vitals and ask why for that days visit; any details or concerns are given directly to the doctor from the patient. Dr. Hartman would not let me move from triage to consultation without repeating the same information to the nurse I still had to explain to him. Not only is it inefficient but it took away from the doctor-patient relationship. I prefer to have my deep medical conversations with my doctor... thats the purpose in seeing one. The relationship between a doctor and patient, especially one whos visit is only the second one, has to be established through conversation with doctor. I felt robbed of that experience.Additionally, I was seeking medical solutions for my issues not expensive cosmetic ones. I am not one of these women that will spend hundreds or thousands trying to look young. I simply wanted solutions to my medical skin conditions; the primary reason my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Hartman to resolve.*See response from practice below. Logic dictates a patient wants to have detailed medical conversations with their doctor; for whom they were referred based on perceived expertise. Asking the nurse and doctor to allow you to have those in-depth, detailed medical conversations with ones doctor vs the nurse should not be met with disdain.

Dr Hartman and his staff are the best. I would totally refer all my friends and family to him. He is courteous and caring and by far the best dermatologist in Birmingham.

The staff was very professional and knowledgeable. They took every step to make sure I wasnt and the staff would be safe from any exposure to covid. I do recommend this facility to anyone that maybe having a skin or hair problem from kids to adults.

Appointments booked out a few months, so I messaged them to see if they could slide me in to an appointment if someone cancelled. Called me the very next day and got me in that week for an outpatient procedure. In and out faster than you can book an appointment with your regular healthcare providers. I was extremely nervous to get my first surgical excision of a problematic lesion. I was shaking on the procedure table. The staff was so amazing though. My doctor calmed me down by making conversation and being so kind through the entire thing. I didn’t feel a thing. They did a great job.

Yesterday was my first appointment and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. The facility is spotless and calming, the front desk staff were friendly, and my overall experience was informative and lovely. Brandi was super knowledgeable, funny, and detailed, and she put me at ease immediately. Dr. Dyck was also extremely detailed in her explanations, kind, and didn’t make me feel like she was in a hurry to move on. I look forward to my next appointment.

I didn’t feel that skin wellness took the time to connect with me to learn more about my specific case. It felt like i was just another number being pushed through the process. It also took almost a week or more to get a call to book an appointment after requesting one online. My initial interactions don’t give me the confidence that skin wellness is the place for me.

First visit. I pray that the wash and creams works. We will see in time. I pray my rash is a simple reaction to something and hope to figure it out soon. With much apprehension, after many years (approx 13)of receiving services in Louisiana (11 hour round trip) and moving to Alabama, I decided to explore options within close proximity. After futile attempts to find locations near me, I completed a search for the Birmingham area. I with a million questions about the equipment they used, prices, and appointment dates. Juliette (front desk) was absolutely amazing and a consummate professional. She has the patience and temperament needed for her position. If she couldn’t answer a question, she made sure that she got the correct information for me. I went in for my visit and I was greeted well. Dr. Hartman was a burst of energy and quite informative. I really appreciated the worker in the back that greeted me and spoke my former provider was really pleasant. My only complaint was that the staff in the back were so task oriented and appeared to be somewhat “robotic”. I would have appreciated a little more hospitality. Nevertheless, I will be returning without hesitation.

I came to the Chelsea office because it is conveniently close to my home in Brook Highland and was recommended by my wife who is a current patient there. This was my first appointment, and I was treated briefly, courteously, and professionally by Dr. Hartman and staff. I plan to return for my 6 month follow-up appointment and schedule the blue light special for a more comprehensive exam and treatment of my chronic skin issues.

Great friendly staff but really not happy with the results after spending good money. I have scars left from acne and did 4 treatments of dual fraxel once a month.After 5 6 months of treatment the scars just the same nothings changed.

Had a very nice esthetician who literally never looked at my skin closely before offering me a $100 peel and advised me she only had a 30 minute block to talk and treat me as a new patient. This isnt my first time at a dermatologist or with an esthetician. I know better, expect better, and this was lacking.

Each and every time that I go to see Dr. Hartman, he greets me with a smile. The front desk girls are all beautiful and so helpful and the nurses are super smart. They make me feel comfortable and at home. My procedures have turned out great! I look younger than ever yet still like myself. The secret is out...Dr. Hartman is the best.

Dr. Hartman and his staff are exceptional. They’re very down to earth and have genuine concern for both my emotional health as well as my skin issue. Dr Youghn is very thorough. If there are other options besides surgery, she lets you know. The office is almost ‘In and Out’. Hardly any wait time. Staff very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend them.
