Still waiting at the airport for our truck.About 2’hours now.. we reserved a pickUp. They don’t have any so we have to wait. So do the 3 people in front of us. At one point they said they had one but than said it was someone’s private car parked in one of there spots.???? Don’t book her if you request a specific vehicle . And if you have anywhere you need to be at a reasonable time…

Beyond pathetic! I have never seen such an incompetent company. I was number six in line to get a car I already paid for and it took an hour and 15 minutes. Then I went to the stall where the car should be. It was the wrong car. They lost the car I had rented. I was finally given another car. To add insult to injury, they charged me $22 in junk fees after returning it. They actually told me the concession removal fee is a state law. I cannot get a manager on the phone. At this point Im just filing a chargeback on my credit card.

No a/c in the vehicle for 4 out of the 5 day reservation. all they would do to recover the situation was give me a coupon for my next rental. waited on hold for over 30 minutes. never again will I rent from here.

The WORST company I have ever dealt with. Didnt have my car ready. An hour later, told me it was ready and that I owed a $500 deposit on top of the $625 I had paid, even though nothing in my confirmation email mentioned this. Then gave away my car when I told them I needed a quick phone call to arrange the deposit. Waited another hour only to have the guy ASK ME TO WRITE MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER ON A SCRATCH PIECE OF PAPER. I asked to speak to the manager, manager blatantly ignored my request so I left, called Expedia and got a refund.If youre thinking of using this car rental company, just dont do it. I just had to watch multiple people leave in tears because they missed major events, like graduation ceremonies, because Dollar Car Rental and their staff clearly does not care about their customers. Not one apology was issued to me, or anyone else. Its a joke.

I called Dollar Rental eight times today. I got lucky on my last call and was able to finally speak with a supervisor. Unfortunately, I waited 43mins for bupkis. It seems a new policy was implemented April 1st. The policy states an airline ticket is needed to rent a car at all airport and NON-AIRPORT locations when using a debit card. I find this silly. Not everyone renting a car flew in or is flying out. However, if using a credit card an airline ticket isnt required. Im not exactly sure of what they are but exceptions are made to Dollar Express Rewards Members. I read other reviews and noticed tons of one star reviews and I see why. I thought I would take a chance because a friend of mine doesnt seem to have trouble renting from these guys but maybe thats just him and those three folks that gave five star reviews.

Stranded with two flat tires on a car we didn’t even rent. It was the last available car. It was working fine until we came back and in the morning everything was flat. The customer service was terrible and nobody answered.

Whoever is doing maintenance on these cars are horrible. Left with the car and noticed it was pulling really hard. Stopped and the tires was extremely low on air. I mean really low. Two tires was at 20psi and the others was at 30. How can you let your cars leave out like this? Also the passenger seat button was broken that adjust it, and the car smelled like someone had just gotten finished smoking in it. Really need to do better!

Never in my life had I have a car rental place tell me they would not honor my reservation, much less for it being less than 24 hours old. No where on the website does it disclaim this. This company would rather have people stranded.

Arrived at the Birmingham airport April 12, 2021 around 6 PM with a 630 pick up. When I approach the counter I was immediately told there were no vehicles available, at this time I proceeded to tell the gentleman at the counter that I had a reservation which he informed me that even though I had a reservation he still didn’t have a vehicle for me. Issues like this has been an ongoing problem at the Birmingham airport I have rented several cars at this location in every time I run a car there’s always an issue. I have had issues of damage cars dirty cars as well as no vehicles to rent out even with a reservation. So what I would advise anyone coming into the Birmingham airport if you decide to rent a car with Dollar Rental please I repeat please have a second and third option.

The Company has ruined my holiday plans to visit with my son who has returned from a 9 month cruise with Navy this was to be our first visit since they have returned back into port. Once at the counter the amount owed or quoted was increased an additional $200 which I understood to have already included in the total confirmed price. I remained on hold for 45 minutes while dealing with the first representative after having asked for a supervisor or manager so I had to call into customer service again. Ill never use or recommended this company again. Ruined plans!!!

They add so many extra fees when you bring back the vehicle...I was told my total was 396.....when I returned end up paying 504 why keep the fees a secret they pretty much stole my money off my card. Because our agreement was for the first amount. Not for whever u decide to charge me when I get back

You need to drive via the terminal and you will notice all of the car rental places on the left. I believe it is the second pedestrian walk on your left. You will notice Enterprise, etc. I couldnt see Dollar Car Rental from the pedestrian walk. GPS directions are incorrect. It will take you to the wrong area of the airport.

Do not rent from this company. I rented a car here and was hit with unexpected fees that totaled more than the rental. The car had multiple mechanical issues including the seat belt not working on the passanger side. I tried contacting them but I cant get them on the phone. I got to the airport and its not open. I parked it in the hertz spot since their return area was completely full. I dropped the keys in the overnight box. I have not heard anything from them. I will never rent from them again.

We will NEVER use them again. The lady was short with us, unkind, and unhelpful after our card on file went missing on our trip. After over an hour of waiting for help, we had to wait another 45 for a car. This service is trash and we’ll be going back to enterprise for life after this. Baltimore airport Dollar, you’re flat out rude and disappointing.

Do not reseve a car with them. There is no gurantee that they will have one. They book as many as they can, with no regard to how many cars they have or will have. Go somewhere else, except Thrifty, if you want any guarentee of getting a car.

Terrible rental agency! I’ve had a reservation for over a month, and was unable to rent a car! Even with my reservation, I was told they not only didn’t have my reserved vehicle, but they had no vehicles at all! What’s the point in making a reservation with this place, if they won’t even have a vehicle there at all? 10/10 would NOT recommend.

The 1st dollar Ive ever rented that had to pay $200 security deposit. I called to extend but they still charged me over $600. But my rental was $49.50 a day for 5 days. When you call you cant talk to a real person.

Worst car rental in America, illegally charged me for insurance and the staff took over 3,000.00 worth of shoes, sad thing is they told me they had my stuff and went ghost, want answer they phones or return calls. Definitely gonna try to pursue this in court, I have receipts for all items taken, these people are horrible.

Whatever you do DO NOT RENT a car from this company! The people are rude #1 except 1girl when we first rented the car was really sweet I 4get her name though:(But#2 they have charged our account over 1,000$ for renting a car for 1week(7 days) that was only supposed to cost 225$.This has been a total nightmare and I would not recommend anybody using this scam of a company !!!

Worst experience I have ever had. Desk staff was extremely rude, horrible long lines waited over an hour, just to be turned away. They do not properly advertise all their rules and regulations. Booked through a third party site, dollar would not honor the booking that I had already paid for. Left me and my daughter stranded. Never will use again, hopefully no one else will either. If I could give negative stars I would.

I always have great experiences with Dollar. When I got off my plane I had a terrible migraine. I could barely walk. On my way at to the rental cars my suitcase tipped over & my bag went flying. One of the girls from Hertz came to my rescue. Carried my stuff. The manager at dollar got my car & even loaded it for me. A+++

Car I wanted not available, so they offered a Jeep Patriot for three people, suitcases and golf clubs. Finally got upgraded to a larger vehicle for an additional $175 per day. All of this came after having to wait 25 minutes for someone to show up to man the booth.I am an Express member and have been loyal for 18 years. The negative experience will cause me to consider alternatives.

After reading all of the horrible reviews of the Dollar Rental at the Birmingham Airport location I need to post my review! We live in Florida and travel a lot, rent a lot of cars from many different companies. We traveled to BHM in October 2018 to tour The Univ of Alabama’s campus. I had read the reviews of Dollar and was a bit apprehensive to rent from them but their rates couldn’t be beat! Naheya was the desk agent at Dollar and was very friendly, helpful and efficient during pick-up and drop-off. The Pathfinder we received for our rental was almost brand new and we were very pleased with the rates. Fast-forward 8 months and we traveled back to BHM June 2, 2019 for Freshman Orientation at UA! I rented from Dollar again this time because of the positive experience in October. Once again we had Naheya, I remembered her because she was awesome when we came in October! We received a VW Atlas, again almost brand new and had another great experience picking-up and dropping-off! Naheya also recommended that I sign-up for the Dollar Express and/or the Thrifty Blue Chip to a avoid additional driver fees for my spouse. We will be heading back to UA next week for move-in and once again will rent from Dollar for the great customer service we have received, their excellent rental rates and the condition of their vehicles! I highly recommend you form your own opinion and take a chance on renting with BHM Dollar, we have had an excellent experience and will rent from Dollar every time we are in town! Reserved a vehicle at Birmingham Airport but they told me all there vehicles were recalled due to safety issues. They offered no alternative transportation. Employees were incompetent and unprofessional. Dollar is a good company but stay away from Dollar/Thrifty at this location.

If you are going to rent from this place, DONT DO IT. I made reservation thru a AARP. When I get there it is a small note stating no debit card can be used for rental. When I returned home I looked at both AARP site and dollar car rental site it has nothing on either site about Debit cards. When we switched to credit card we still had to wait on a car. I REPEAT NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. I only gave it one star so I could write a review and at least the young lady that helped us out was VERY NICE. This company is a joke. GET IT TOGETHER. I WILL BE POSTING MANY BAD REVIEW ON EVERY WEBSITE I CAN.
