Very pleased both times I have had a need to visit Joe’s Garage. Honest communication and transparent pricing before any work is done, and I like this a lot. The work has been great and I’m very pleased with it. My go-to mechanic here on the gulf coast!

Better communication. If appointment falls behind need to give customers heads up especially if waiting on vehicle. Didnt start work on vehicle until 2 hours after appointment time.

Very knowledgeable and extremely informative. They will call before repairs are made and are priced waaaaay more reasonably than Firestone or the larger garages. Ive taken my car here for a serpentine belt and timing belt replacement. Just recently had the breaks and calipers fixed. I will only take my car here in the future.

Came in on a Thursday for a simple brake swap on my Jetta, they were too busy and told me to come back Monday morning. I did as requested, they were again too busy and couldnt fit me in same day, and didnt have parts available. Would not recommend.

I was treated rudely over the phone for simply asking about a quote. It sounded like the person on the phone was irritated that I would even ask such a thing. I’ve had my cars repaired at dozens of shops around the country and this was by far my worst experience.

Bought a used 2005 Honda Accord. Found out it had an oil leak so took it in for inspection. Joe diagnosed it as a pan gasket change, so had this done costing $500+. Took it home, the oil leak continued! Took it back in this time the diagnosis being a rear main seal oil leak. Had that fixed costing $1100+ (9 hours labour charge at 99p.h). Brought the car home and then it starts stalling when it goes to idle. Took it back into him and he said he couldn’t see why and left me with no resolution. Took it to another mechanic who found out after inspecting it that when the rear main seal had been replaced it had lost most transmission fluid. Topped up the transmission fluid and now the car is finally as good as new.So firstly he misdiagnosed the leak charging me $500+. Then didn’t realise the transmission fluid had been lost when removing the transmission to fix the rear main seal.I won’t be returning and although I’m sure for basic services Joe is well prepared, for more in depth fixes I’d look elsewhere.

This is the only place I will take my car. Joe always finds & fix the problem when others cant. Take my daughters mustang there too. Has always treated me fair. Thanks joe! 😊

I dropped my car off with the thought I had an alignment problem, turns out the issue was with my torque converter. Joe diagnosed the problem, told me he doesnt do that kind of work and recommend me to another local shop. He didnt charge me a dime, very honest and professional I will use them again and recommend to my family friends!!!

These people (the owner I found out after service) are amazing! I interrupted the owners lunch with my license plate wouldnt come off. He put some grease and muscle on it, didnt charge me a dime! Ill be taking any of my future auto issues to this shop because they are obviously the best and honest!!!!

I called here to make an inquiry about an oil change because they were recommended a coworker. I needed an oil change on short notice so I could go out of town for a family emergency so imagine the amount of stress I’m already under. I politely asked the man that answered the phone about the cost of an o/c for my make and model vehicle. He quoted about $45. I proceeded to say to him that my vehicle uses 6 quarts of oil instead of the standard 5 and VERBATIM he said to me “Well they don’t GIVE it to me, of course I charge for it.” I responded with, “Well sir I was asking because I usually go to the Dodge dealership and they don’t.” I guess he realized he had done too much with his comment and responded with a simple “Yes, I charge for the extra quart.” ....Could have said that in the first place. The earlier comment was unnecessary. I would have gladly paid for the extra quart of oil had he simply said ‘yes’ in the first place. I did get my oil changed.... but elsewhere.

Joe is a honest mechanic. I went in for a problem with my front end and he checked everything out for me, even though it was not making the noise at the time. During the inspection he noticed my motor mount was going bad but said that it was not a safety issue and didnt have to replace it. He also said that it was possible that it might be the noise issue but that it was not likely and that driving the car as is was fine. I had him replace it a few weeks later and I could tell a difference in the way my car ran, it got rid of a lot of vibration I didnt notice before. It did not get rid of the noise in the front end but I took it back a few days later when it was making the noise and he stopped what he was doing and checked it out again. Joe greased some joints for me and made sure everything under the front was tight and installed correctly. Joe is willing to go the extra mile for his customers and really cares about people and quality service. The big thing for me is how honest he was and never tried to talk me into doing something I did not need to do. I would recommend anyone go here for there car service. They also have a really good warranty on parts and labor.

I had a very pleasant experience at this shop. My truck was having problems with the rear differential and I was leaving in 3 days. Joe was able to get my truck in and get the job done in time. He even made a trip to mobile to get a part so that he could get the truck done in time. This was back and June and I have had zero troubles with my truck since. Joe was upfront and honest with me with the problem, great guy.

We went here a couple weeks ago to fix our AC in our car. Friendly, fast and a good price. They called and explained what needed to be done and gave me a price before doing anything. I needed to call them back after talking with my husband but they called me back and said they found a part for a better price and wanted to update me. That really impressed me because I could tell they really took the time to make sure I wasnt getting ripped off. After giving them the go ahead they were very quick with fixing it and called after everything was done. When I picked up my car the gentleman that worked on my car came inside and explained some other things he found (my car has been having a couple other problems) and he explained them to me and what I needed to fix them. He even explained that theyre fairly easy to fix/replace myself but that if I didnt want to do that he would be more than happy to help. I was grateful that he took the time to explain everything and I felt no pressure from him to get them done there. Will go back for any car troubles.

Good work and done quick

Joe and his staff are friendly and competent. We have been using them for four years. All four of our vehicles are older models (1995 - 2006) and he keeps them up and running for us. The service is fast and the prices are fair. I highly recommend them.

Delivered a clean Yukon for repair. At pick up it had some grease on the seats and doors, radio head had a deep scratch across the face, and the dash was scratched and marred from the areas work was performed. Small broken bits of the dash were left on the floorboard.Very unprofessional.

I called to see how much would it be to get front brakes replaced here. They said $150.00 even though I had my own brakes.

Their service was bad and their reception was bad and their aim was how they take your money. My visit to them was disappointing

I called to get a price on my truck. Me: Id like to get a quote on replacing the rear differential on my truck.Joe: I wouldnt know without knowing more information like, the ratio and whether it has positract.....etc. Uh, uh I wouldnt know without all that. Last time, I could get one from the junkyard for the price of a rebuilt one.I was offended. I knew all that information he needed. He didnt ask. All he had to do was ask me. What, cause Im a woman, theres no way he could ask me? I wouldnt let him work on my skateboard.

Amazing customer service! We used them for a company vehicle. Within a couple of hours of dropping the vehicle off for an AC problem we received a call back saying they were done and ready for us to pick it up. They also gave a follow-up call a week or two after to see how our vehicle was doing.

I was only in MS for 6 months...but Joe is very intelligent and honest about maintenance. I never once walked away from his shop feeling like I was taken advantage of.

I purchased a car from original owner, it had meticulously maintenance records with all service documented including cooling system and water pump. It overheated. I towed it to Joe’s and told him I thought it could be the water pump that I wasn’t certain. The secretary called me and said $1480 to change a 2008 VW Gti water pump! He didn’t run the test or look at the provided records. I declined because his price for parts was 4 times NAPA and his labor rate above highest average suggest rate. I Also found out that water pump worked great but the thermostat was over 100k miles since last changed. They tried to charge me for work not needed. Stay away unless you don’t mind getting charged for work not needed or mind paying triple the normal suggested rate for work performed.

She was treated very well from the towing company they use to the rate charged for labor. My car was diagnosed, repaired, and returned within 5 hours. Very pleased.

I went in for an expensive fix. I was told that there was no guarantee that the new part they wanted to install would fix my problem, so when I was given my keys after initial consultation I expressed to the employee at the front desk my worry about spending so much money. She responded by saying every repair is guaranteed such that if it doesnt work they could reinstall my original part and refund me the cost of the new, expensive part. I returned the next week and during the install I was told that it was impossible to return the new part. I said fine, stop the install and was then told that as soon as they cut the plastic it is too late. Since the problem is intermittent I have no idea if it was fixed. My complaint isnt with the job done, but with the severe miscommunication. Employees that do not fully understand policy should not be allowed to interact with customers. My lesson of the day, get company policies in writing as they may fluctuate depending on the situation.

Dropped off my truck to have my a/c checked. Joe called me when it was inspected. They diagnosed the problem however he tried to convince me that radiator fans werent working. When I simply stated that Im sure the fans are working, he became very defensive and said he wouldnt fix the a/c if I didnt get the fans fixed as well (which of course increased the cost significantly). Needless to say I declined and had to pay the $44 inspection fee which was not a problem but I had to ask for the detailed print out of the quote (you would think they would just give it to you). So finally I go out to my truck and start it up and the radiator fans are working just fine. So to anyone thinking about going here I would say go at your own risk because the integrity of this shop is very questionable.

My check engine light came on in my tahoe and the code said it was a mass flow fuel leak .Well I took it to joes garage and he found the vapor line had come loose on top of the fuel tank .Now he could have told me it was something else and charged me a outrageous price but he didnt. Its hard to find a honest mechanic but I have and all my vehicles will be going to joes garage.

Had routine maintenance on my vehicle. A week later it developed issues directly related to said maintenance only to be told that he doesnt work on my car and I need to take it to the dealer... are you kidding me?

Had a great experience here. My Infiniti QX4 was swaying back and forth at high speeds and I went to several mechanics who werent sure what the issue was. Joe knew exactly what the problem was almost instantaneously, and gave me a reasonable quote. The total cost was pricey, but mostly because he had to order the parts directly from Infiniti. Joe was prompt with calling me and even picked me up and dropped me off at work while he fixed my car. The car drives perfectly now. I highly recommend this place, Joe is one of the few honest mechanics out there.

I’m giving a three because I didn’t even get to go there so I don’t know if they’re better in person, but I called for pricing and the lady who answered acted like I was bothering her.
