I’ve come here many times and honestly I wish I haven’t. Their repairs don’t last. They seem to fix the same stuff over and over. Warranty? Yeah but doesn’t cover everything if anything. I finally decided to stop coming here and have the dealer fix it because at least I know it won’t break in 2 months

I had just gotten into a car accident and had my car towed here, they were being nice and open at first. As soon as I left I had to wait a week before I heard anything from them and that’s because I called them, only to find out they haven’t done anything, told me a different amount than what they told the insurance once I let them know I was going to be using insurance. Then they waited another few days and told me it was because they gave the mechanical estimate and not the body estimate. It had been 2 weeks and they haven’t even touched my car. I just had to have it moved to a different auto shop at that point.

This is the absolute best muffler shop and mechanic place around. They are honest. I have an old truck and the air went out and I was quoted 3 times the price for a new compressor when a used was perfect and hasn’t had a problem in a year. Martin and Danny are always easy to work with and can fix anything. It’s hard to find great mechanics who don’t try to bleed you. Customer Service is the best! Try them! You won’t be going anywhere else.

I went to try to get service on my van I was I told I couldn’t use it no more b cuz the axels where very damaged so he said $950 it was too much for me do I told him I had to come back so I could have enough coins for me leaving I had to pay 100 so then I went somewhere else my tires just needed air that’s why it was shaking so I wen for my money back and the girl that’s in there the one with the puffy hair was so rude acting that she was on the phone ignoring me the whole time so they never wanted to refund me my money TRERE REALLY BIG CROOKS🐀

Took my moms car to get her ready for the winter, Two days later Im writing this review because the car is running like brand new. the team was honest, detailed and FAST! They WORK HARD and do a great job!

When I first purchased my 04 Mustang, The tire blew out on me and I was calling every place in town for a price estimate on tires. I was getting quotes for $500-$2000 for one tire, or all. I was stunned. I called American Mufflers as my last hope, and they quoted me about $400 for all tires. New. When I took my car in to get the tires, they asked if I wanted a whole inspection report. They let me know all the problems with the car, and the investment Id be taking on. Took the time to explain what each problem was, and how it affects the car. Very knowledgeable in their work. I ended up taking my Mustang there for 2 years. Unfortunately the car got totaled in an accident recently by someone.Since then Ive purchased a 06 Mazda that has issues, and theyre about to get it in and out within one-two business days. Which is amazingly fast. They have great work ethic, and are attentive with their clients & clients vehicles. Never in my years of having a car have I been to such a place that cares so much. American Mufflers is the place to come. They are experts to the T. Martin & Danny you guys keep surprising me Everytime! Love you guys!

I brought them my car for an alignment. I noticed the car pulling hard to the left and it was never like that prior. He told me it wasn’t the suspension it was something else, come to find out the alignment was WAY off. Brought it to another shop and they showed me the alignment printout and I can’t believe how much it was off. They rushed me out and said the car was fine.

Everyone at the shop demonstrated care and professionalism. Service was great. Couldnt be happier.

This place is pretty new a car x use to be here and most of the reviews on here about that. Im here to say I went to this place and was extremely satisfied with the mechanics. They are honest and you never have to wait too long to get your car fixed. I had to fix my transmission and I was amazed at how affordable it ended up to be

They tried to charge me 1150$ for work that was not needed. I tested them went to 4 different mechanics. All of them told me the car is good expect for 1 tie rod. These people told me both inner and outer tie rods need to be replaced, new brake and rotors, wheel bearings and both ball joints. I DO NOT RECCOMEND HERE AT ALL! They said if I do work on the car I get a free oil change like awesome! 20$ oil change is now 1150$! DO NOT COME HERE! If there was a way to rate it 0 I would

I own a 2005 4 door F150 that wouldnt go forward or backwards. I went to the Berwyn location at the recommendation of my landscaper. I told him 3 other shops had said I needed a transmission. I was skeptical when Martin at American muffler said truck engine and transmission are good, he found some minor things that needed to be changed. Danny kept me in the loop on how things were progressing. They made the repairs and the truck runs like it did when I bought it brand new. I recommend American Muffler in Berwyn to anyone that will listen, and this will be my go to place for all my truck maintenance needs. This shop has the best customer service, I enjoyed working with both Martin, and Danny. Make this your first and only stop when you need your vehicles serviced. 😍😍😍😍

Nice people, good service. BUT!!! after fixing a simple tire leak they pumped up the tire to 40lb psi. Thats 8 lbs over what is listed inside every car door! My tire looked like a balloon until I let some air out. My take is this is an old trick to be sure if theres still a leak you will be long gone before it sets off your cars low tire detector again. Very disappointed.

I came here because of their FREE oil change on Wednesdays and because I also needed my headlight to be fixed. I was really happy with the service provided and appreciated the honesty of the mechanics here. This is not a place that will screw you over with unnecessary repairs.

What i like about this place is that they actually tell you and SHOW YOU what the problem is, also find potential problems that can occur later and become more expensive. Its not like other places where they just tell you and expect you trust them and dont tell you about any other problems that needs repair.. They do a good job thank you for your service

My wife took my car in for an oil change and I used her car to get to work. They tell her I need a new water pump or my car will be overheating soon. Well, I drive my car the next day and I noticed my temperature gauge going up. It didnt do that before. Only after my wife bought my car in for an oil change and after they mention my water pump needs to be replaced. ?????? What would you think? I would go in and talk to the manager, but he would only deny it. I wont be talking to them, but I will be talking to everyone I know.... DONT EVER GO TO THE CAR-X IN BERWYN!!!!! They dont even deserve a 1 star rating!

Good HONEST service point blank

So this is what happened... one of my rear brakes was making a grinding noise. I bring it to these guys and they show me a frozen caliper and a worn down rotor which was the direct result of the frozen caliper. So they replace both rotors and I was told that the caliper would be fixed. They call me to say its ready... I pay for the repair and just as I was pulling out there was still a grinding noise. I drove a few more blocks just to see if it would just go away, but no. They obviously didnt do any kind of test drive after fixing it. If they had, theyd know that the job wasnt finished. I would have to of waited long, but at least the repair would have been done right. So Im not all that happy that they gave me back my car with the same problem which could result in yet another set of rotors. Going to take it back to see if they can get it done properly. Stay tuned... I will follow up.

Tried to say I needed over $1,000 worth of car repairs. Another place charged me less than $100 to fix my car to pass the emissions test.

Went for an alightment and thought $50 for all 4 wheels but just for 2 for the price of $50, couple weeks later the alignment was out of place. Dont do business here, go to Lopez Tires in Cicero, 4 wheels for $60, honest work and watch on site.

Drove in with a flat tire, they squeezed me in and repaired it on the spot.

They forgot to add antifreeze after stating that they had tested it and the vehicle was ready to go. Engine started to overheat within five minutes of leaving. How could you not check fluids after doing the work? They lost my business.

I like this place because one reason is that they have really good customer service which is something that counts so much in order to come back. Another reason is the fact that they explain very well the part that needs to be replace and the exciting problem that the car has and that it may have if not fixed. I can feel that I can trust this company to get my car fix. I feel confident riding my car afterwards it’s been fix.I recommend this place because they have a very good service and treat you with respect. They explain to you what problem your car has and what can happen or that another part of the car can break down if you dont fix it in time. This data is very important to know since one can ignore the needs of his car which causes a bileote instead of a small one. Also the parts that put have guarantee and of good quality.

They installed a starter which has 3 screws and they only put 2 on it because the third one was broken and so they left it with time. It started to damage what is inside the transmission because it does not assemble well. If they answered me for the broken screw and they fixed it but what damage that was said they were not their fault.
