I recently experienced a flat tire and immediately called AAA to have it towed. The AAA agent informed me that 5 Star Auto Service was nearby so I called 5 Star to ask if they replaced tires. The Service Technician agreed to take a look at my vehicle right away so I had Action Towing deliver it. I was pleased with the great customer service I received. The 5 Star lot was filled with vehicles and I can totally see why. The staff are courteous, professional, and they provide exceptional automotive service. It is not surprising that the location was voted #1 by AAA. 5 Star Auto Service is a full service shop so I plan to trust them with my vehicle for future maintenance and repairs.

They were great to squeeze me in on Friday afternoon and then accelerate it when they knew I was staying there and waiting. Very friendly and responsive. Cheaper than the alternative that I was quoted who also said the couldnt get brakes in until next Wed. Great Job 5 Star. appreciate it.

My husband went here for a smog check. Prior to that, he had gone to another smog station that charged him $90, with the end result of his truck not passing. That technician could not offer any advice on passing a future test. Evidently, that was not his job. My husband immediately went to 5-Star, explained the situation, and the service consultant checked the sensors and told him there would not be a problem passing the test, which there was not. Very friendly, understanding and informative folks there at 5-Star! We will utilize them for all our vehicles in the future. We give them FIVE STARS!

I was looking for an auto mechanic shop to replace my starter but wasnt sure which shop to trust with my vehicle. I called the dealership and they couldnt get my car in for two weeks. After calling a few shops, I decided to take my car into 5 Star Auto. Although they were also busy, they didnt hesitate to offer their help. My car was towed to the shop and as they worked on my car, I received great communication regarding the status of my vehicle. Pricing was very reasonable and I was very happy with the service. I would definitly recommend this shop to my friends and family.

I brought my truck in for a required check by the DMV. There were some items that needed fixing and they communicated excellently about what needed fixing. The estimate was almost right on. The work was excellent also.

The work was performed to service a very old and sentimental car and they just downright did a great job, very detail oriented as if it was their own car. I drive a wonderful older Toyota that just won’t die - at 21 years old, she’s been a dependable and easy to maintain vehicle - but nothing lasts forever. Over the last couple years she’s picked up a few noises and a collection of minor performance issues. Since I’m about to do a lot of driving over the next month or so, and it’s still mid pandemic, we decided to find a place that would pick up and return the car for us, and to have them do a thorough assessment and conduct any needed repairs.The initial quote was admittedly a little jarring since I wasn’t anticipating any major repairs but 5 Star provided an incredible itemized list. Small annoyances that I’ve just accepted as parts of an aging vehicle or the result of past mishaps. Normal wear and tear that has resulted in persistent alignment problems. Typical service items that were coming due. They picked up on *everything*.We gave them the go ahead - and it was a week-long process because several things that needed to be replaced were special dealer parts, and there was just a LOT of it.We got the car back and she purred like a kitten. There was one small missed detail - a second passing emissions test after the first one had a high NO reading at 15MPH requiring repair. They came back the same day to pick up the car, do additional tests and minor repairs and return it later that day at no charge.Absolutely SUPERB service - deserving of both their name and a five star review.

I couldnt get a hold of my usual place for my oil change so reached out to 5 Star Auto. Things are obviously different during COVID but they were easy to work with. I ended up needing more work than just the oil change I came in with (but this wasnt unexpected – I was warned during my last oil change at my previous place that my brakes would need to be replaced at my next visit) but I am confident with the job they did. Overall was a more pleasant experience than my usual place so will be coming back for sure.

I brought my 2015 mustang in here two days ago for a screw in the front tire hoping they could patch it. They took me in within half an hour of me calling but unfortunately the screw was in the corner and the tire had to be replaced. My intention was to get the tires replaced anyways and they were itable to order me some high quality tires on the spot that could be swapped next day! I took it in first thing in the morning and they swapped the tires in an hour exactly as they said. Very friendly customer service (apologies Im terrible with names) but Im very impressed with the work these guys do and how fast they could do it at a fair rate! 5 stars!

I was referred to 5 Star by my father-in-law as hes taken his vehicle there several times. I was attended to very quickly and energetically. In the past I have brought vehicles here via AAA when I towed cars for them. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and motivated to help. They diagnosed my vehicle quickly and stayed at the quoted price for the analysis. Their prices are fair and honest. Theyre also a AAA rated business so you can put you worries to rest about any scamming our price gouging. I live in the central valley, but would definitely recommend 5 Star to anyone that lives in the Peninsula and looking for a reputable shop.

I have two older cars that I do a lot of work to myself, but I have used these guys for tires, alignment & smog. Their staff was very helpful and friendly, the service was prompt, and quality of work was great. Since my cars are high mileage I was expecting them to try to sell me parts I didnt need, but they never did. Ill definitely continue to use them.

When you contact 5 Star Auto Service, the first person you usually encounter is a gentleman name Scott, who is a charming and efficient representative of 5 Star Auto Service. He is really a Gentleman, patient, and automotively skilled to answer most questions asked of him, and the wonderful thing is, he actually takes time to answer your questions. Something most places seldom do, but instead they just want you to bring your car in and wait to be informed. If youre a woman, other places tend to patronize you, but not Scott. He listens! Moreover, the facility is clean and well lit, even in the repair area. Im sure he treats everyone equally because I am an elderly Black woman, and I was treated wonderfully. I was so impressed that I brought in my second vehicle to be serviced. I only really want to give 4.5 stars because I havent had enough time to reap the full results, but Im sure I wont be disappointed because Scott assured me, if I have a problem to just bring the my vehicle back in as they guarantee their work. I had 5 Star perform a smog check on my car. They did a good job. The car was ready when promised and Scott was a pleasure to deal with. I’d use them again for this service and consider them for other auto maintenance tasks.

As a female, going to the mechanic causes deep anxiety. I know the basics of my car, but sometimes its like they mechanic is speaking french (and I dont speak french) when theyre talking about this hose, that fluid, this piece, blah blah blah.... Scott took the time to explain the issues with my car and gave me options for a solution instead of just saying this is what you need to do and this is the cash you need to shell out.I appreciated his time and the details he provided, he was genuine. And that, my friends, is priceless (no matter how much you have to spend on your car sometimes). Ill be coming back for sure.Btw, the one star comments are HILARIOUS, you should read them if youre waiting in line somewhere. But also pay attention to the owner responses... someone has to care deeply about their business and reputation if they take the time to read and respond to disgruntled folks (who may or may not be unreasonable trolls)... who knows.

Ive taken 2 of my cars here for a smog check already. Both were quick in & out. And the price was decent.

Deceitful, and once caught on to the fact, aggressive and rude. Not only that I would not go there again, but I would go to some lengths trying to convince friends not to.Ive brought the vehicle into the shop for diagnosis of intermittent start problems. 5 Star Auto Shop recommended replacing the starter, and few other things, including back wheel brake shoes and drums. Their official documentation mentions that the shoe thickness 1.0 - 1.5 mm, in writing. The copy of the document is attached.Unfortunately for them, and totally unrelated, I had a recent wheel inspection and a report saying that the back-wheel brakes are in good condition. That made me seek a second opinion, for the whole thing, especially the ignition problems.It turned out that the problem was not the starter, but the alternator. A specialist will tell you that a starter is much more expensive to replace, at least for Honda Accords, as more labor is involved. I suspect 5 Star Auto Shop would have found out during repair that the alternator is also defective and would have recommended the replacement, at a discount. Under that circumstances, the whole thing would have looked almost like a good deal, and turned them into the subject of my gratitude. In any case, another company replaced the alternator and the car starts fine since.As for the brakes, a new inspection performed by a specialized shop *after* 5 Star Auto Shop reported 1.0 mm thick brake shoes, revealed that that the back-wheel brake shoes - all four of them - are in good condition (4 mm) and do not require servicing. The drums are also in good condition and do not require servicing. The copy of the report is attached.At this point, and in my opinion, 5 Star Auto Shops behavior might be considered as verging on fraud.After presented with evidence and asked for diagnostic procedure refund, the clerk became aggressive, and started to use expletives that cannot be reproduced here.Avoid, unless you do not care about being deceived, are OK with paying a lot more than necessary, and are also OK with the f*** word used on you.

I had smelt anti freeze and brought my Chevy Tahoe to be checked out. Neg greeted me and popped open the hood, and said yes Radiator was leaking and needed replacing, and that was about 1pm. $ Pm Scott called o say Radiator and hoses replaced and Ned was on his way to pick me up. I did not expect to get my Tahoe back the same day. Great Customer Service and they stand behind there work. Not the first repair I have had done there and I will keep bringing my Vehicles there.Thanks Guys

Not only are the mechanics friendly and honest but the service is great and the place is clean and comfortable while waiting. I’ve been bringing my car in for oil changes, brakes and smog checks when needed, but recently my car broke down on me while driving in the evening. I had it towed to 5 Star Auto. They’re quick and efficient and it was fixed and ready for me to pick up the very next day.

Their technician told me I needed new hoses for the cooling system (urgently!!) on my vehicle and when I went to another place that I trusted they said my hoses were in good shape. Customer service was not great and it seemed very obvious they were trying to sell me parts and services I didnt need

These guys are crooks! They try to sell customers parts that they dont need! I came in for an oil change and they told me I needed new brakes front and rear at the cost of $700! I had my brakes checked by another mechanic and he said they were all above 50%.They also own the 76 station north west of El Camino and are just as bad over there! Stay away!

Called and got an appointment within the hour, they were very nice, honored a online discount for a smog and were done in 25min.I will be back!!!

I bring my car with a noisy problem that they will later said it was my breaks , I pay over a thousand dollars to have my car back with another noisy, that I couldnt take care because been working and studying now the noisy is worse I bring the car back and they want another thousand plus dollars . Definitely not coming back to these place they work quality is really questionable, as they way to price every kind of fix they want to do in your car, the only reason why I came here was because my mother in law suggested these place . Wish I would have never bring my car here
