I am having a Horrible time this apartments. This roaches everywhere and you have Sprayed and bombed it ourselves because the apartments well not do it themselves And we are still seeing them everywhere. I cant wait for my least to be up. So we can get out of here! W have call the office so many times to get some out here but they never come!

I have lived at Cottages at Bedford for almost 5 years, I have never stayed anywhere this long before. The residence is quiet and safe, my neighbors are friendly and polite, and the office and maintenance staff are helpful and warm.

Rented here between 2019-2020. Roaches everywhere in kitchen and in bathrooms no matter how clean you keep it. Had a major wasp problem, with wasps coming in thru chimney, at-least 30 wasps within two weeks. Didn’t want to break lease so I transferred to a different building, of course it was more expensive than what I was already paying. Once moved into the new apartment, there was wasps getting into there too, so just took matters into my own hands and duct taped of the chimney entrance. That building also had tons of roaches too. Residents with dogs did not GAF about cleaning up their dogs waste, stepped in it a few times, so keep off grass. If you are a current resident here and you don’t think you have a roach problem, go ahead and turn off all your lights in kitchen and living room for 30 minutes and go to your room, then run back out and turn on your lights real quick, then boom, plenty of roaches. Management was changed 3 times within a year living here. Rumors have it that some of management were stealing from the company and also from tenants. Office was either always opened late or closed early, so not very helpful. Under every sink had major water damage or very poor cover up repair. There was never any parking spots available, non residents wouldn’t park in guest parking and we would always have to park a good distance away. Towing was never enforced. Ton of residents never went to work so their vehicles would hog all of the closets parking spots to the buildings, would be their for weeks without being moved. Trash dumpsters were always full. Litter everywhere. Apartments were built in the 80’s and slapped a new coat of paint on every few years. Horrible condition. We ended up buying a house at the end of our rental term, our house payment is cheaper than renting a two bedroom here, and guess what, I will own my house in 30 years. Renting apartments will have you renting until you are on your death bed. Rent also rises here every year due to higher tax value. Monthly payment was going up $55 if were renewed our lease. Attached is a picture of wasps collected from just one day, management wouldn’t take us serious and though we were over exaggerating, so decided to collect them and bring them to the office. Also had a picture of a large roach we found, but can’t find it. Good luck apartment hunting!Forgot to add, these “five star reviews” you are seeing are absolute fake. Started happening when management was switched for the third time. They are making fake accounts to post these good reviews. Notice how those accounts only have one review... pathetic and complete scam.If you’ve read this far, please give this review a thumbs up. So future apartment hunters will have some insight on the Cottages At Bedford.

With me being a first time leader, I appreciate the efficiency and professionalism of both Veronica and Brittany. They provide such great energy to the property. Very lucky to be leasing through them! Thank you so much. Will definitely be leasing again next year 😊.

I would just like to say this is the best apartment complex I have ever lived at. I have been to so many places where the office staff is very rude but here I have had the pleasure of working with Brittany and Veronica and they make sure you are well taken care of. The application process was superrrr easy. The apartments are very nice especially for the price you get them at. Any issues I’ve ever had have been fixed in a timely manner. I’m so glad I chose to live here and highly recommend this property.

I have been living here for 4 years now. I like how quite the apartment is and how the upgrades are coming along. There is always plus and minuses with living in any apartment, so here is my review.I will say they have changed managers a few times and owners of the property. So things are working on improving. If you are looking for a kid friendly apartment, this is not it. There is no play ground here nor anywhere for them to play. No laundry mat on site at all, they put a workout room instead in during the office renovations.The upgrades are nice but are done completely on a budget an depending on which contractor is doing them depends on how good its done. I just moved into an upgraded unit and still find things wrong with it. Outdated fixtures etc through out the unit. They are working to fix the list I gave them.The laundry (cause your washer dryer is outside on most units) storage area is not insulated and not updated in any fashion so it gets very hot in there and smells at times like a wet moldy basement. If you want to update it youre on your own, wish they would update it when doing the apartment.The porch was painted at one point but is fading. The door numbers are very hard to see front the street/parking lot. They just fixed the outside lights on the buildings cause at night it was super dark and a safety risk.I do think there needs to be a larger trash cans as they are always full and people cant seem to put things in it, so it sits on the ground around it. I think they should also have the air ducts cleaned between moves and the vents.There is several places to walk your dogs and bags provided at times.Maintenance is pretty good about fixing things right away and are polite about your apartment, such as making sure they dont bring mud in etc. No notice is left when they have completed a work order other than the email saying it was done from the apartment website portal.I will say that the office staff is pretty bad on calling back when they said they would. I know things get busy at times. I had to stay on top of them about my move and also reach out to the corporate office about attitudes, but they are improving slowly. I do see changes of staff coming soon or hope so at least.Do I think the new owner cares about his investment and came to see how it is first hand? No I dont I think this is trying to be fixed by a new corporate. Not sure if I will renew my lease yet, all to be seen for the upcoming year.

I visited this property today, and was quite impressed with the friendly, courteous welcome I received. The Community Director, Ms Cortez was the epitome of professionalism. Her assistance today was invaluable to me and my work. Im sure this level of service transends to incoming tenants and current tenancy. I would have no hesitation in recommending THE COTTAGES as a great place to live!!

Cottages at Bedford will approve almost anyone, so as to keep your $300 application fee. They will then promise you a renovated apartment, which you will NOT be allowed to actually see, until move in day.Before move in day, Cottages at Bedford will keep promising you, that your apartment is being renovated right now, then it will be renovated next week.When you ask to see the apartment 7days later, you will be told its still being worked, it will be done next weekThe management at Cottages at Bedford will string you along until move in day. When you arrive, the apartment will not be renovated and when you ask for your money back, you are told we cannot refund your money because you were approved and so, they legally keep your hard earned cash.Do not be fooled by how nice Brittany the Assistant Manager is.Veronica the manager is arrogant, condescending piece of work, who cares nothing about the problems of these apartments. She actually said the broken, sagging and unsafe balcony was no big deal.Veronica also lies - she said that my proposed apartment had been rented out when it was not. I guess she didnt want people of color renting at this place.I suggest you go check out other rental properties in Bedford BEFORE ever considering this place. Make sure the rental place is ready to move in BEFORE you hand over your application fee.Cottages at Bedford is legally stealing peoples money.Cottages at Bedford ropes people in, by offering some kind of incentive - free half month etc - but you end up losing much more than you would have gained.The actual rental space looks NOTHING like the pictures at their website, nor the model apartment. Dont believe the 5 star reviewsTo be forewarned is to be forearmed!

These apartments were very well put together!! The management was nice and shared hospitality with their smiles and welcoming nature. I am on the hunt for a smaller apartment and I believe the manager showed me an apartment she was extremely nice and showed me all the amenities and the apartment she showed me was extremely nice!! The layout was spacious and the environment was quiet and peaceful! I will definitely returning soon

The new management staff are very helpful and are Making the necessary changes to make this a great place to live.Ive enjoyed living here for the last 4 years and had very minimal issues. Would recommend living here if your looking for a affordable place with great location.

My experience here during my lease was traumatizing!!!! When i first leased the apartment it looked as though it was thrown together for a quick moved and it went downhill from there. The MOST MAJOR problem was the fact that the ROACHES NEVER WENT AWAY!! with numerous complaints and work orders the problem was never solved and i was never comfortable. I didn’t just pack up and move because it’s hard to explain a broken lease on your rental history or jeopardize it being on my credit. The roaches were more of an infestation and the whole building needs to be burnt and rebuilt they were coming from the drains and ceiling. Grocery shopping is a big no because the bugs get into that if your not going to prepare it the same day. Depending on which side you live on it’s either lizards and cockroaches or just roaches and ants. On top of that they charge you for clean up regardless which is Ridiculous in this situation because of all the dead roach bodies that has to be removed. I am going to be in contact with corporate to get my deposit back. It’s not worth 900$ to live in a roach motel every month!

Roaches, Wasps and Black mold!Roaches were present even after treatment.There was a major wasp invasion in the apartments all winter. Management refused to remedy the problem. I was told by the manager that the money was not in the budget to screen the chimneys. Was told it was not a health violation! I was stung three times in my apartment! We pay $10 per month for pest control.I reported black mold and it was sprayed with X14 to no avail. I reported that it did nothing. Management did not respond. I moved out two months early as they were in violation of the lease by not addressing these issues.

Everyone is very helpful and the area is just absolutely amazing. I recommend it to anyone that needs to find a new place.

I have lived in many many apartments in my lifetime and none are as accommodating as the Cottages at Bedford. During this pandemic it hasn’t been easy, especially financially but the office has done nothing but work with me and allowed me to make ends meet during this difficult time. I haven’t been threatened with evictions nor harassed with phone calls. Just took a little communication and they were very willing to help me. Thank you guys! 😊

I normally dont leave reviews, but from what I have read some reviews are misleading, they are telling the full truth.This place same as other places faces some challenges, but the management is always at hand to assist. The maintenance team is working tirelessly to sort out maintenance challenges, and the most they take to respond is either within a day or 2.These issues of saying they took longer will be a bit exaggerated, based on my 8 months experience

Area is really nice! Close to main highway, Starbucks, QT, and within minutes to Arlington, Dallas and North Richland Hills! Staff was pleasant and nice!!

The took my deposit $300 dollars without any explanation, or whatsoever after I moved out.

I lived there for a year. Moved into a dirty apartment. Mice holes in the walls.People fighting in the parking lot, dumpster always overflowing. New management took over before I moved out. Falsified documents that I turned in and actually copied my signature from one document to another they said they lost. It suddenly showed up and was forged.It was a bad experience all around. Maybe its better now.

Over all the apartments are nice and the staff makes you feel so welcome.

I rented this apartment online since I was moving from OR and needed somewhere to live when I got to TX. After talking to the office staff a view times on the phone and checking out the websites/photos I finally did the online application. I was excited to get approved right away and have a place to live once I arrived. The unit I rented was avail 11/7 but I was not going to be in TX til 11/20. I called the office staff right away to make sure moving in on 11/20 would be okay, of course that was no problem at all. After looking at the price of the unit I noticed it was a bit cheaper, I talked to the office and this was due to it not being renovated. They gave me the option to have the unit renovated and I agreed to pay more monthly to do so. Apparently was still scheduled to be done by 11/17 even with the renovations according to staff. The week leading up to my move I called to confirm everything was good and what time I could move my stuff in on 11/20. The office staff said they open at 8:30 am and we could move in anytime between then and 5:30pm when they close, I let them know I would be there bright and early and I was driving from OR to TX for this move. Morning of 11/20 I was caught in traffic so I hadn’t made it there quite by 8:30, it was around 9 am and I was 15min out. I received a call from the office stating I can’t move in until 3-5 that day! I’m minutes away from my new home after a very long few days on the road with my pregnant wife and dog, we just wanted to get the car unpacked and get a bed and furniture. I asked if I could see the apartment as I don’t understand why we can’t move in til 3-5 now when we were told we could move in as early as 8:30 am prior to us checking. Of course when we got there no shock to me or my wife the apartment was completely unfinished. They had 3 extra days pay the date they told us it would be done and no one could take a minute to pick up a phone prior to us arrive to let us know they ran behind schedule!? We now have to kill 6 hours in a new state and area we have never been too with a dog after 4 days of traveling on the road, we’re exhausted, we want to eat home cooked food, we want to shower...it was such a frustrating situation. Hours later around 3:00pm we are finally able to see our “move in” ready apartment. Nothing I mean nothing has been done to this apartment. There was saw dust all owner the carpets along with screws ...lovey so my dog. There were cob webs in the light fixtures and corners, paint was still drying, counters sink, nothing had been clean. Oh and we had NO CABINET DOORS on anything. No one informed us they were on back ordered...how are we supposed to move in when our pet can get into any cleaners, pots/pans, etc. We obviously ran for the hills from this place. We decided to refund our deposits and go somewhere else. The office manager Leah assured us she would get the paperwork in right away and it would take 30days for the refund check. Fast forward to now we have NO REFUND and a baby due soon. I have contacted the property and their management company multiple times and no one is getting me my check. DO NOT TRUST this awful company or complex. You will regret it. I’m shocked they do not have multiple lawsuits at this point with my situation and the other awful reviews I have read.Update: The property company Apartment Service Company head supervisor was able to issue me a check and expedite it last week. This is after weeks of my phone calls being dodged. I stated that I would update my review once I received my money owed. So here is my update 👍 I still do not recommend renting from an apartment owned by this management company. I have also received two emails requesting this review be taken down since they so graciously paid me back my deposits for not renting from them. (Only took 2.5mo to receive my $ back)

Great location, pretty safe, management is nice, but know that smoking is allowed and it can flow throw the vents into your place (my current situation). If youre a smoker, 4 or 5 star place, if youre not and have a neighbor who smokes, it can be a 3 star (smoke gets on clothes, sheets, etc not to mention bad for health). About the only negative I have is the smoke circulation and unfortunately, management can only kindly ask tenant to smoke outside but cant legally prohibit smoking inside: the reason I may leave early or after a year.

Lived there for a couple of years until Sept. 16, never had a problem. The staff was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency come up, which ultimately caused me to get evicted, but the office staff did everything they could to help me avoid it and wished me luck when I turned in the keys. They were just good people. The grounds are very well kept and clean. Maintenance was good at the time. Not the biggest, nor fanciest apartments. Dont know how it is now, but I needed to give my two cents on this location.

For this to be an older complex- I think the new owners are doing a hell of a job! The remodeling they have done on the inside is very nice. Feels very comfortable. Great community and you cant beat this location.

THIS IS THE VERY WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED!!! I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ELECTRICITY RUNNING TO MY CLOSET OR BATHROOM IN MONTHS OVER HALF MY OUTLETS DO NOT WORK. MAINTENANCE AND THE OFFICE HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS AND MANY MANY MANY OTHER PROBLEMS COUNTLESS TIMES. THE FLOORING AT THE FRONT DOOR IS ALL RIPPED UP AS WELL AS THREE DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE CARPET .THE STOVE AND DISHWASHER ARE SO OLD AND HAVE ONLY WORKED HALF THE TIME I HAVE LIVED HERE. THE LIGHTS ON THE BUILDINGS NEVER WORK SO IT IS VERY DARK AT NIGHT. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COCKROACHES. AT LEAST WITH THE MANAGEMENT BEFORE THIS ONE THEY HAD THAT UNDER CONTROL. NOW ROACHES ARE SO BAD THEY ARE IN THE ANCIENT BARELY WORKING REFRIGERATOR AND THERE IS NO WATER PRESSURE AT ALL GOOD LOOK USING THE LEAKING KITCHEN SINK. AND THE LIST GOES ON RUN DO NOT LIVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT. WAY WAY WAY OVERPRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET

Started out great but new management moved in, they tow cars now, they make you pay online and their website doesnt work. If you need maintenance forget about it. They fired the old maintenance crew who were great guys and were always working hard. All in all its a horrible place to be now when it used to be a friendly respectable community its now filled with bad management who closed the pool all summer and dont help residents at all. Stay across the street.

Its currently 9am on a Saturday and they have a dude going around with a damn leaf blower being loud as hell. Its been going on for 30 mins of him just parading around playing with leaves in the parking lot. When I called the office to complain she said well I just got into the office and he has a job to do. Cool thanks for caring about others. These people suck.

If I could give it less than one star I would.My lease with this apartment was by far the worst thing I have ever experienced.1. The maintenance staff here is highly incompetent and on several occasions has made repairs highly illegal and against simple fire codes because they are lazy and just want to save money as opposed to ACTUALLY fixing the problem for the residents.2. Me and my roommate gave them our notice of terminating the lease in the 2 month window that they gave us before our lease was up. During this time the apartment changed management and misplaced our paperwork so we had to continue paying for an apartment we were not living in for another 2 months.3. I am currently on deployment and left my wife and roommate to do the cleaning of the apartment before the inspection. The apartment was thoroughly cleaned 3 times to make sure we got everything. Today I got notice that we will need to pay a 250 dollar fine for them having to clean the apartment and a trash fee for what, Im not really sure.4. In the same bill they informed us they would need to replace the vertical blinds that were damaged during our stay EVEN THOUGH we put in our initial inspection of the apartment that the blinds were ALREADY damaged upon our arrival but they seemed to have misplaced that documentation as well.In total we had to pay over $3000 extra just to get out of the apartment AFTER the lease should have been terminated.On several occasions we had to deal with police for belligerent neighbors and other affairs.All in all again this was the worst experience with an apartment I have ever had to deal with and all of the residents there agree with us. The office will not listen to you, and honestly get attitude with you any time you try and bring something up with them.I would not recommend anybody staying here for any reason, you can find cheaper apartments better than this all over in nearby areas.

Honestly glad I waited till before moving out to write a review. I loved living here the last 2 years. But a recent event has pushed me over the edge. I would have given a 4 star or 5 star but not after this one event ruined my 2 years here.Ill start with the good. The 300 unit is quiet and I love it. The people in the unit keep to themselves dont cause trouble and are quiet. I never had previous issues with any of the staff till today. Ive never had any pest issues. My only other comment is if you live near the road its a good idea to have a fan in your room to block out street notices, it works wonders. Mind you this is new management. I was never bothered before and have always been given advanced warning of entry into my apartment. At least from what I know of, after today I am unsure.To Management,I am beyond pissed right now. How can you come into my apartment without advanced notice. Just because Im moving out. You still should have the decency to contact me that you need to do measurements. I have a cat that is a flight risk and runs out of the house in a heartbeat. I need to know if I have to have him locked away. Ive loved living here for over two years, till now... so unprofessional. I get in emergency situations you have every right to come in, but measuring cabinets is not an emergency!!!Now Im going through my apartment to make sure nothing of value is missing because I dont know if you have ever been in my apartment without warning. As a tenant with high anxiety issues this is not fair or right. Even if you do need to come in without warning your tenants still need to know that you entered their apartment without any warnings!!!Everyone talks bad about the last management but they always left work order letters, notices, either called or emailed to let us know what was going on. This management rarely does that. And the old management would also send text messages. In this day and age that was a godsend.I work nights some times so I sleep in... If I didnt second deadbolt my apartment they would have barged in on me sleeping and not decent enough to have visitors. And they are lucky that I was home because if my cat would have gone missing they would have been in huge trouble.To everyone else,Feel free to make your judgment calls. This still is a decent place. They are remodeling and hiking up the prices. But so far the prices are still comparable to other apartments complexes. This complex has a history of changing management, but usually most older complexes do that. People come in remodel and sell for more. It was a great starter apartment for me. the smaller one bedrooms are big and perfect. They are cute with good personality. Having the washer and dryer on the balcony is not as inconvenient as one would think. Its great to have one.Take care everyone good luck on your apartment hunts.I dont understand why I cant find.anywhere on the internet or on their website that we use to pay Bills anything about the main office/property owner information. I would have contacted them first before posting a review.

I have very bad 4 months here and call an allergy dermatitis develops implementing beetle folder. and nobody does anything. want to move if I have to pay 200 for the transfer. very bad resort

My boyfriend and I have only been here a mere 5 months and its AWFUL. The walls are paper thin and you can even hear people simply coughing next door, not to mention other things that you really shouldnt be hearing. The roaches have been a problem ever since we got here. Were clean people so its not us, its the apartments. The roaches are all over the bathroom and kitchen. in the kitchen they crawl around all over silverware in the drawers and plates in the cabinets, DISGUSTING. The management isnt the greatest, and though the maintenance man is a nice guy, he doesnt do what needs to be done. We had flooding from the apartment behind us 3 months ago, ruining the dining room wall, and it took them a month and a half to come in and even look at it. and guess what he did? He painted the wall. So the wall still has ripples in it from the water damage. I would not suggest living here. Im glad we got a 7 month lease because im ready to get out of this nightmare.

Nice staff and nice community

Beware of the manager Dena and her sneaky maintenance man Israel. She has him enter your apartment without legal notice or reason. I believe he w a squatter in my place and this made me feel uneasy and unsafe that I had to break my lease and move. They never answer the phone for emergencies! When I went to surrender my keys after several attempts to call and reason with them, Dena the manager said I sound absurd when I explained to her that maintenance locked me out. I had to call the police because of it. They are not to be trusted! Risk it if you dare.

Ive been here almost 7 months and the only thing that is quiet is the street next to me. Every time I have a problem with something its like pulling teeth to get anything sone. I also have the infestation problem as I am also a clean person. Walls are thin and the apartment is falling apart. I cant wait to get out of here either. And the assistant manager, I havent liked her since the beginning because if Ive ever had a problem its always an argument.

When we moved in to this apartment we did not feel at home. Managment is very nice but maintenance is so poor. when we moved in our apartment it didnt even have carpet down yet, we had no drawers in the kitchen, and it was dusty every where, our bathroom mirrors had so much paint splatter we couldnt see in them. Our oven broke and we had to go 6 weeks without being able to cook in the comfort of our home. our bathroom had mold growing from leaks that werent repaired and when we asked them to replace the shower heads and knobs becaused they were hanging out of the wall, it took them 4 to 5 weeks and they fixed the bathroom that had nothing wrong with it. we couldnt take anymore we had to pay out of our lease, but not the whole thing considering how angry we were. Had we read other peoples reviews and saw this place was rated a 3 before we moved in, we wouldnt have done it. we spent the worst 7 months here, having to live like white trash. its in a nice area but dont let it fool you. hopefully management can get this place up and running in living conditions. We had neighbors tell us how lucky we were to be able to get out so soon when were moving out. best of luck to future residents but some advice would be to place your money else where there are bigger nicer apartments for the same price or less.

Horrible managment, maintenance is great as long as you submit everything online. But dont expect any help from the office other wise. Went from one of the better complexs in the area to horrible contracts and horrible communication.

Their apartments are not finished and so they rent them as if they were ready to live

I live there for a year,,,i visited some places around and i think this is a fair value,,,it does not look like a brand new appartment and the wall paint does not look very fresh ,,,as everything is done online you dont really need to spend your whole time at the office

There is never anybody at the leasing office.They say they have visitor parking, but never enforce it. I will come home at night and the parking lot is FULL with people who should be parking in visitor. The tow truck is never there, and no matter how many times you ask the Leasing Office about it they never respond.I have never felt so uncared about before until this apartment complex!
