When I walked in I was greeted by Max who was so kind and friendly. The place was clean and very inviting. There was some confusion in the time but Max and Sarah were both beyond professional. Sarah took me early and was absolutely amazing! I’m use to deep tissue but was a last minute switch with masseuse and I was beyond pleasantly surprised by the relaxing massage I got. Sarah has such a skillfor finding each and every trigger point. Looking forward to my next appointment with Sarah!!

The whole team was very helpful... my client and myself came late (considering paperwork) and they were very patient with us in helping with the paperwork in a timely matter to still benefit from our massages! Sarah was amazing, she listened to my focus points and applied much needed pressure! Experience was awesome...I just know to be on time next time!

The massages are great! However their ‘policy’ is messed up. I came in person to sign documents to cancel my membership the month it expired and was told by a male that I paid for the month already and they charged my account still, even after the money was paid for the month. I was told I can use the credit up to September but the issue is that I now have a medical tube in my chest, and I’m allergic to the stuff they use for facials. I’ve tried the facials twice with different products each time. I asked to speak with a manager and they ‘took a message’ and the phone call was not returned, I called back again today and the woman on the phone was very pleasant, said she would text her manager to call me to resolve this. I do not want a credit, I want my money back.

I wish they had less staff attrition. As the staff represents the business and is the reason clients continue. It seems as if their compensation and employee relations could use a reevaluation. Since joining, I ’ve had three technicians that I highly enjoy leave the franchise and it’s often challenging to schedule with those few who remain unless you do it months in advance.

I always try to avoid any unknown body products on my skin and do not feel comfortable using the massage oil that was used during my first massage session at my local Massage Envy (I did not like it); it left a bad uncomfortable feeling on my skin. I wanted to know what is an actual product applied to my skin. This Massage Envy location does not have any label information on the bottle, and the massage oil they use does not suit my skin. All they say is it is fragrance-free.I could not enjoy my massage due to the product applied to my skin.I personally only use organic products on my skin.Next few sessions, I brought my Organic massage oil that suits my skin, and I know it will not cause any issues or harm to my skin and my health.I ask to use my product and did not have any issues.One time the Lady hesitantly refused to use my massage oil by looking at the bottle and saying that she has an allergy to Arnica and I can not use your oil. She offered me an option where she could use gloves for massage. I did not like the idea of massage with the gloved and agreed to her oil. I have a very unpleasant session due to the oil product used on my skin, and I was sure never to schedule any future appointments with this therapist again. She knew I left unhappy.My other appointment with two different therapists went well without any issues, where my own organic massage oil was applied.I have a very hard time making my future appointments due to the lack of appointments availability. Finally, I was able to secure my appointment for 90 min with Darius. I was very excited to get my appointment with him.The new massage therapist, Darius, is telling me that for employee safety, he can not use my massage oil at all. ( even it is Organic, and it has been applied to me before). He asks me to undress and get on the table, and he would consult with the manager.I was on the massage table for 10 min. When he back, he confirmed after talking to his Supervisor that he would not use my product.I raise my concerns about my safety to the product he wants to use on me. There is no label with any information on the bottle he has.I told him that this is the first time I hear this nonsense and that I have been using my own product multiple times with other therapists before.He is trying to tell me this is our Policy. I ask to speak to the Supervisor.The Manager on Duty Max would not budge and was very unhelpful. Max was very unprofessional and did not look like qualify to handle this situation. Stating this is our Policy, he could not provide me to show.I have never been told about this Policy before and have never seen this rule in my contract agreement anywhere. If I was aware before of this policy/ rule, I would never agree to sign for this service.I can not understand the inconsistency of the rules. It feels like pick and chooses when some rules/ Policies are created out of the air and could be applied when wanted.Well, I decide to refuse to receive my service with Massage Envy mystery massage oil. I am not taking any chances with the unknown products applied to my skin. After talking to Max, supervisor on duty that day, he did not resolve any of my concerns, and my service was refused because they do not want to use my massage oil.I had very high expectations for my 1,5-hour massage session with Darius. I left this place very stressed and very disappointed without any massage.I stop at the other Massage Envy location later that day.I walk-in, and videotape the whole conversation with the employee. I ask the question about me wanting to use my own massage oil, and it was welcomed without any hesitation. I ask if there is anything in the Policy that I can not use my choice of massage oil. The answer was No, I can bring my own product, and they will apply to my skin. I taped the entire conversation and have proof of it.

Therapists not very experienced and the staff is unprofessional. I only have 1 month to finish using my credits so I booked them all in advance a few months ago. I was supposed to use my last 2 credits and they called me 30min before the appointment saying they need to cancel and reschedule. Then didn’t have any appointments for me and wouldn’t refund me for the credits I already paid for saying I can call around to other facilities to see if they have availability. The whole franchise is terrible. Don’t get a membership and don’t go here there are way better places.

George is an amazing massage therapist. He has really strong hands and is the only therapist that digs into my neck to heal the pain. I would highly recommend him. His massage is more of a therapeutic massage where he really works the knots. He will check in on you and make sure the pressure is ok for you. He helps me so much with pain management. He also will let you relax and will not talk to you much, and I totally appreciate that. I have become a regular of his and I’m so thankful of his skills. If you are in pain, you need George!

Terrible customer service and attention to detail. I’ve been a loyal Massage Envy customer for over 10 years, this is the worst managed location I have experienced. I’m told requests are processed, finding out months later it was not and there are no notes in my file regarding the request. Then a manager was to call me, it’s been 11 days and I have not heard anything. It’s really unfortunate and unacceptable.

***Long Review ***I booked massages for myself and a friend to take place on December 26th. When I called back in late November, early December, I did not care for the greeting and service I received over the phone and chose not to book at this location. I then called the Chagrin/Beachwood location and spoke with Cassandra. She was very helpful, telling me the specials that they were currently offering in place of the buy one get one free that was being advertised on the website. Upon speaking with her, I decided to book and was told for the timeframe that I was requesting they had no available appointments at Chagrin. She indicated that she could schedule the services at Richmond and I told her that I would need to decline because I was not happy with their service based solely on my phone interactions. She was extremely apologetic and assured me that she would address the staff because she prided herself on having her locations provide excellent service. With that in mind I allowed her to schedule both appointments. I explained to her that the massage was a Christmas gift and I did not want him to know. She was very accommodating and placed a note in the system stating that they were not to contact him any sooner than the day before the massage for confirmation. The initial confirmation text was only supposed to be sent to my phone number. Knowing that we booked for the day after Christmas I was fully aware that he would receive a confirmation text on the 24th and had no problem with that. Appointments set, necessary accommodations made, happy future customer in that moment.December 23rd arrives and my friend and I have planned to exchange gifts that evening. At 10:56am I receive a text message requesting confirmation. For some reason, I had a feeling that things were not going as planned (regarding the necessary discretion I had requested) so I called the Richmond location. I initially confirmed that they were scheduled to be open on December 24th, this eliminated the idea that there was any miscommunication regarding the day in which he should have received a text notification. I then explained that I had made arrangements for texts to only be sent to me and asked for verification that I was in fact the only person of the two, to which the text was sent. Emily placed me on hold momentarily and upon return, assured me that was the case. Feeling comfortable with the response I was given, I went about my day and plan to surprise my friend with the gift of his massage. Unfortunately, my surprise was ruined because he received the text that morning as well. At this point, I am now a very unhappy future customer.December 26th arrives and although I am not happy that my request was not honored, myself and said friend are looking forward to our massages. We arrive and are both immediately greeted by our respective therapists. Because we did not arrive 15 minutes early as suggested, I moved accordingly to avoid a delay. After following Michael to my room, I realized that my temperature was not taken. This is very disappointing with the current covid concerns we are facing in society. My friend had never had a massage so he stayed in the lobby with his therapist a bit longer and did not have his temperature taken either. He did however see a gentleman come in right after us and his temperature was taken. Please make it make sense! Oh, I failed to mention there were a total of 4-5 people crowded behind the desk when we walked in so there was no shortage of staff, someone was definitely available to take our temperatures. Besides the fact that there was availability, it did not look very professional for all of them to be at the desk, they just appeared to be hanging out.I decided to step out right before my massage to mention my displeasure about the text notifications and request some sort of compensation. The young lady at the desk called Emily and advised her of my concern asking if there was anything that could be done and was apparently told no because she asked not even an enhancement? I booked here for a couples massage and I loved the introductory rate of $55/person. I had a great experience with Ned that I decided to sign up for the membership so I can come here often. $65 monthly membership (credited for 1hr massage/month and additional 1hr massage only for $45). The front desk representatives were friendly and even helped me pick out a good face mask to try. I liked my experience and will be coming here at least 2X a month for shoulder massage with Ned. I cant speak about other therapists but I think Ned is phenomenal.Ill update my experiences in a few months regarding the membership.

Went in today for a post-COVID massage (I was especially tense in my neck and shoulders). My massage therapist, Sean V., told me to remove my clothes down to whatever was comfortable for me — I chose to dress down to my underwear and sports bra. About 20 minutes into the massage he told me that he was “sorry this is such a bad massage” and that there were “too many obstructions” for him to do his best work. He never mentioned what those obstructions were, so I assumed it was the sheets and blankets and whatnot being used now that extra safety/hygiene precautions are being taken and told him that it was no biggie and that I was enjoying the massage so far. 40 minutes later, after the massage was over, he asked me why I hadn’t taken my sports bra off if I wanted him to work on my shoulders. My sports bra (which had some corseted strings across the back) apparently was what he was referring to when he mentioned the “obstructions” earlier and not the sheets as I had thought. I told him that I wasn’t comfortable stripping down all the way at the beginning and his response was, “Why not? You do know you’re completely covered, right?” in which case I reiterated that I was not comfortable with that. He followed by saying because of my clothing, he was only able to do “60-70% of what he could’ve done.” I found this extremely disappointing. Had he told me FROM THE BEGINNING that my sports bra was that much of an obstacle for him, I would’ve just removed it. But instead, he gave me a mid-grade massage and then blamed me for it afterwards.Overall, the massage was good for what I needed it for. He worked out the kinks I’ve had for a few months, which was great, but his dismissiveness for my personal comfort and his lack of consideration for or explanation of what could have given me a better customer experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth after my service ended. I tipped 20% because were in a pandemic and I respect anyone and everyone who is willing to leave their homes and risk their personal health and safety to provide us with a service, but I definitely feel jipped — essentially I paid full price for 60% service, and while that 60% service was fine, I truly wish I’d been told to remove my sports bra earlier so that I could’ve either had him focus more on my lower back instead or been gently persuaded to remove my sports bra so that I could’ve had adequate service on my top half.Tl;dr — I wish I had gotten my monies worth 🤷🏽‍♀️ Not trying to label Sean V. as a bad guy but he clearly needs to be more upfront and communicative so that customers don’t leave feeling like it was their fault they didn’t get the full treatment. Also never tell a customer s/he only got 60% of what they paid for! How lame!

The massage itself was fantastic but I left feeling rather confused and disappointed. I was scheduled at 3:30pm and arrived 15 minutes early. The massage therapist came to get me at exactly 3:30 and took me to the room where I got ready and got in the bed. Massage started at what I would guess was around 3:40... and ended at 4:15. Apparently the time to try ready and to dress again is factored into the massage time that you pay for- which is a complete rip off. For a 60 minute massage, I received around35 minutes of actual massage time and out the door by 4:23. I would absolutely expect a 60 minute massage to be 60 minutes of massage time. It seems like such a rip off to charge someone for the time it takes them to dress when the person is done. It doesnt matter how good the massage is if youre only getting half of what you pay for.

The 60 minute massage I booked only lasted 43 minutes. I mentioned that at reception and was told it depends on when you arrive and the time spent filling out paperwork, despite the fact that I arrived exactly on time and filled out the forms in just a few minutes. If that’s the case, why not ask people to arrive a bit early to take care of those items?

I am so disappointed with the telephone customer service that I received in the winter (2016) and today - April 21, 2017. Even after the first encounter in 2016, I thought I would give it another try. We all have bad days. The telephone service is unprofessional. I called today (Friday) to inquire about the specials and was told they currently have a special that ends April 23rd (Sunday). I was not told that it was booked. However, I indicated that I would call back shortly. In less than 2 minutes, I called back to schedule and was told that the special was booked the entire weekend. I politely asked why I was not told that information when I called a few minutes ago. The rep. abruptly said, I dont know who you spoke with but were booked. I spoke with her, but she denied it. The first time I booked two appointments (winter 2017), I received a call back and was told that the two therapists called off because of a snow storm. I was not offered an alternative day or time, nor was I offered an apology. Integrity and good customer service go a long way. In order to post this review, I had to indicate a star rating. I dont have the option to not select, so by force, Ill give it one star. My reason for posting is not to deter people from going to Massage Envy. It would have been my first time. However, I hope the staff reads my post and seriously consider ways in which you can deliver great and professional customer service. Customers who want to do busy with you will be turned off by the tone in which you use and not going the extra mile to offer alternative service when you cancel an appointment. In fact, I was told that I would be charged a fee if I cancelled. I really hope this helps someone!

This location has TERRIBLE customer service. My daughter & I did not receive our full massage because we were three minutes late. Go figure. The management staff doesnt give a crap about the customer not being happy. Her resolution was for me to PAY for another message & receive a free service of HER choice (pedi/hot stones). So you want me to pay you again to see if Ill be treated better the next time. I dont think so. I will NEVER EVER visit this location again...

The front desk staff is great. My regular therapist, John is great. The staff is not the problem.The problem is the frequency of cancelled appointments. I have made several couple massage appointments and have never had it happen. Every time one of the therapists is no longer with us. I get this happens, the last time it happened ended it for me. AGAIN, one of the therapists was no longer with them and they just put another in him place. A message was left with me that it was done. Again, this happend several times in the past. This is the first time the didnt ask if I wanted to make this change and just did it. I immediatly recieved a reminder text and texted no back that I didnt want the appointment anymore. Since I texted that I didnt want the appointment I didnt call. Well the day of the cancelled massage I got a call letting me know credits were taken from my account for the no show.Management was supposed to call. Ive callex twice. No answer from the manager.I have been a member for 10 years and have had great experiences. Today I sent my cancellation letter to my original location.

Poor customer service and worst massage of my life. If you have to cancel an appointment, they will charge you anyway. If THEY cancel an appointment, thats tough. They will do nothing for you. Some therapists are good, some are very substandard. I have had good experiences with other locations in this chain, but I suggest you avoid this one.

Do not go to this place. They overbook and you do not get all of your time. They took away a half hour of my massage because the therapist was late calling me and I was there 15 minutes before my appt. My appt was at 2 pm and they asked me to fill out paperwork. Well it was already 2:20 pm so I would not have gotten my full time. I told them to cancel my appt. I had to leave so that I could be on time for work at 3:30pm. So I could not stay. Long story short, they said the therapist had to be compensated. It was not my fault that you lost my paperwork and I had been going there for almost a year. I also noticed that they dont give you a full 60 minutes. They call you back late and then end your session 10 minutes early. The people there are very nasty at the front desk. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Go to any other Massage Envy, but this one.
