There is no other martial arts school I would rather be at to be learning traditional Japanese martial arts.

I have been training at this martial arts school for years now. Its an incredible place. The instructors really care for the students and make sure we learn the techniques safely and correctly. I love the japanese style martial arts. This school has become part of my family.

Great traditional martial arts school. The instructors are very knowledgeable and highly ranked in their respective disciplines. The martial arts include traditional Japanese unarmed martial arts as well as Japanese sword arts. The students and instructors are respectful and the school has a great learning atmosphere. The headmaster of the school also practices acupuncture and traditional Asian medicine.

This school has the perfect learning atmosphere filled with students who are very attentive and truly care about what theyre learning. Also the instructors are amazing and never stop learning themselves, so the information and techniques being put out are never stale and antiquated. Definitely a positive learning environment and a family that I can say Im proud to be apart of since 2009.

If you arent making this your job, dont bother. They wouldnt even let me schedule a visit because I trained in prior martial arts and even accused me of doing them badly just based of the fact that I took 3 at the same time (training 20 hours a week mind you). I could only think of two reasons to be rude to someone interested in learning a traditional art: either they think theyre better than everyone or theyre a Mcdojo. Neither are a good learning environment

I have only been training for 1 month and I am already quite impressed with the dojo. Sensei Fred is a kind and accommodating teacher and everyone there is helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking to improve him or herself and who wants to learn a challenging yet rewarding martial art.

Yoshitsune Jujitsu Kai is a very diverse Dojo with experienced Senseis it is an elite dojo. The Senseis are high ranking and have many years of training from many different disciplines including Japanese Sword, Jujitsu, and Self Defense.

If your looking for instruction in Aikijujutsu, Yoshitsune Jujutsu and Hakko Ryo jujutsu; this place is it. Everything is taught in a traditional way with step by step guidance on the application of techniques and how they are used in a real situations.

I started attending Yoshitsune Ju Jutsu Kai classes to simply learn something about self defense. Five years later I received my Shodan ranking (1st degree black belt). Starting to train at age 55 with no prior martial arts experience seemed daunting, but the environment at this dojo was welcoming and supportive. There are two outstanding instructors and a dojo full of helpful students. If you are looking for traditional Japanese Ju Jutsu and self defense this dojo is something you should explore.

If you are seeking expert instructors in the traditional Japanese martial arts of jiujitsu or iaido, you wont find better than Fred Bernier and Jerry Tardi. They are serious and dedicated. Their teaching skills are outstanding. Both men maintain strong contact with their Japanese teachers--Fred and Jerry travel to Japan on a regular basis for training and they host visits by their Japanese instructors in the USA.I have known Fred and Jerry for several years and when Im in NYC, I practice iaido at their dojo on a regular basis. I enthusiastically recommend Fred Bernier and Jerry Tardi.

First and Foremost, I am a young lady...(keep that in mind)This place has met the expectations of AUTHENTIC. This is not a commercial dojo. The art is derived straight from Japan its self! The class is taught by Sensei Fred Bernier and Sensei Jerry Tardi.I have been attending this school for almost 2 months (May 17) and I have not been more dedicated to anything like this. I have experience with taekwondo but this school has surpassed everything that I have learned. I can not quite remember how I came across the dojo but it was a few months before the Sandy hurricane and Sensei Jerry welcomed me with opened arms. To make a long story short, I came to this dojo with temper problems and this has been my best form of self-control and meditation. At a very affordable price you are trained two different arts for 2 hours, 4 days a week.Everyone there is very welcoming and out-going. This is a serious art but we become comfortable enough to have a few laughs. As for my sentence at the beginning of this review, I am a female (the only female) surrounded by GENTLEMEN. They respect me and teach me everything I need to know to protect myself outside the dojo. I couldnt ask for anything more!So if you are interested in real self-defense, meditation, self-awareness, patience and integrity; make your way down to this location and expect nothing less than a life changing experience! THE REAL DEAL!!! I have been training in the Martial Arts for many years and when I decided to further my knowledge I came across a beautiful dojo in Bayonne NJ. Sensei Bernier and Sensei Tardi who holds high ranks in Japanese Jujutsu, welcomed me with open arms. From the first class I saw, I knew that this is where I wanted to be. Being someone with a Martial Arts back round I was very impressed of the way the traditional techniques was applied to real street situations. They run their dojo as a CLUB and not a BUSINESS!!!! Both Sensei Bernier and Tardi are a perfect combination of Ying and Yang, which is what every Martial Artist needs to be superior in their style. Not only are they great at what they teach but they are always a friend first!!! So if you are looking for a great bunch of guys that love what you love, this is where it is.
